I dined here for the first time on the last Saturday of June. It was for a pre-concert dinner since I was going to see Brian Wilson (of The Beach Boys) and Chicago (the band, not the musical) later on at the Pavilion. It was surprisingly not crowded; I'm still a bit hesitant of dining in because of COVID.
Anyway, my pre-concert drinks were iced tea, an Irish Mule (made with Bushmills Irish Whiskey and Goslings Ginger Beer), and iced water. The Irish Mule was a bit strong, but it was still delicious. Trust me, when the alcohol started to kick in, it convinced me to order dessert. Ha,ha. This is what happens when you haven't had liquor for more than two years. Yep, damn you, COVID! ;-)
I didn't bother ordering an appetizer, so onto the main course.
The main course for me was the Whiskey-Soaked Braised Short Rib with Sweet Potato Purée and Sautéed Vegetable Blend. Delicious! I didn't really need the accompanying knife, but used it anyway to cut through the soft and tender short rib. The flavors were awesome and seasoned just the way I liked it. I have to admit that it was a choice between this and their signature fish and chips, but I'm glad this landed as the choice after playing eeny-meeny-miny-moe. Ha, ha.
Remember how the alcohol convinced me to get dessert? I ordered the Irish Bread Pudding. The bread pudding was with Jameson walnut sauce, and vanilla ice cream. It was really sweet, and unfortunately, it defeated me. :-( Oh well, I wished I had it boxed, but I would have been made to throw it away once I reached the entrance to the Pavilion.
My waiter's/server's name was Tris, aka Tristan. Awesome guy! Really patient, and understanding.
