The Governor Restaurant and Seafood Bar Has Opened in the French Quarter - Eater New Orleans
"The 300 block of Chartres just got its second Huey P. Long-themed restaurant from Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts (CCRC). Serving 'power brunch,' lunch, and dinner, many of the food and drink items have names that evoke government. The interior is minimally designed with black and white tile on the floor and faux black marble on the countertops." - Stephanie Carter
Love the atmosphere here. It wasn’t super crowded even though it’s in the French quarter. Food was pretty good but I will go back from dinner instead of brunch. The bottomless mimosas are only 12$ which is cheap. The service was great! And the balcony seating was a great touch for a beautiful day.

DELICIOUS food, great prices, and tucked away in a quieter part of downtown. Venture away from Bourbon street to this gem. Our server, Deja Vu, was one of the kindest, most attentive waiters I've experienced in years. Definitely recommended.

Great place, really enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly staff. They did a great job making you feel welcome. I ordered the seafood omelet, which was the very best in New Orleans. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Our family's favorite restaurant in the French Quarter! Everything here is amazing! Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks all are so good! We will definitely be back often.

I have eaten at the Governor in the past. Today I went by and it appears at least temporarily closed. There is a for lease sign hanging from the gallery and no sign of activity in the building. I called and no one answers the phone. Be sure to check before making the trip.

Yums! I didn’t do my homework before visiting NOLA & completely stubbled into The Governor. Apparently, I stubbled well because it was the best meal I had while there. I had pasta. I rarely eat pasta because they don’t it for me. But I’m happy the ingredients struck a cord. Very delicious! The flavors come together in your mouth like a pleasant surprise. The staff was friendly and they have plenty of room with upstairs seating. I have no plans of visiting NOLA again but if I do, definitely on the list. Oh, and lovely wine.

You won't leave hungry! Awesome breakfast. Had The Governer's Breakfast with the jambalaya and andouille sausage. It was amazing. Nancy was a wonderfully fun and sweet server! Liked this place so much that we came back for a second time on our trip.
