The Grand Cafe will be a forever favorite. The food is consistently exquisite, and the hospitality makes you feel instantly at home. They treat you like family. Walter provides service that is second to none and is so loved!

I recently enjoyed a wonderful meal and presentation by Xeris Pharmaceuticals, organized by The New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (NJAOPS), at The Grand Café in Morristown, NJ. I am looking forward to future events that NJAOPS may host at The Grand Café and my next dining experience there. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

The service was pretty nice, but nothing special. The atmosphere as beautiful and the view was so pretty. It was so cool to eat inside a toursit site! The meals were decent. I shared a seabass with my brother and although it was a bit plain, there were no bones! The mocktails were also amazing, the way they were presented was lovely. The desserts were to die for! We all shared the mille feiuilli, and I loved how most of the desserts on the menu were sharable! The area is great to walk around after dinner too! I would definetely recommend reservations as well because the restuarant can sometimes be at full capacity.

Excelllent, professional service. Our guests ordered the Calves liver —- it was outstanding. Very tasty, not dry. The drinks are always spot on and generous. I had the Dover sole —- this is one of the few places I would ever get this dish. Always fresh and flavorful.

I can't say enough good things about my experience at the Grand Cafe. My family and I, a group of about 20 people, had a luncheon in a private room upstairs. It was a repast following an interment ceremony, so it was important that things go smoothly. I called the restaurant at around closing time on a Saturday night, hoping to schedule the luncheon for the following Thursday. I was expecting to be told to call back during the week, but Walter happily took my call and said he would "take good care" of me and my family, and he did. In the planning process, he was friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and when we were at the restaurant, he treated me and my family like we were guests in his home. The entire staff was polite and professional, the food was delicious, and the space was beautiful. I look forward to dining there again. Thank you, Walter!

Lovely quiet restaurant. Very crowded. Much older crowd. Food was good. We were in a difficult table where the hurried waiters kept hitting our chairs. The wine was exceptional. The wait staff are very attentive. The owner is on hand greeting all the tables. Walter was very kind on the phone and just as sweet in person. He moved us from in front of the piano to the main dining room area for a quieter table. I love that all the tables have white or pink tablecloths. The carpeting also helps absorb the sound and make for a quieter ambiance. I know people got more casual after the lockdown with their attire but we got dressed up to go to the restaurant, yet other older patrons came in jeans. Very disappointing when people don't dress up for a nice restaurant. I had the bronzino. My husband had the dover sole. Our son had the tuna. Our daughter in law had the pork chop. We shared the lobster salad. Our waiter messed up our order of birthday souffle for our son, but kindly took the charge off our bill. Our son ordered chocolate, but the waiter brought the Grand Marnier souffle instead, which was too sweet.

I can't imagine a better place to have a party. My wife threw me an amazing surprise birthday party a few years ago at The Grand Cafe and we absolutely had the best experience. Fast forward to now, and it's my turn to throw a birthday party for her. Despite wanting to do something completely different just to mix things up we chose The Grand Cafe again and are very glad that we did. The food is delicious, and they have a BEAUTIFUL party room upstairs that is split into a bar area and a dining area. It's so much fun having the cocktail hour (with delicious passed appetizers) in one room and dinner in the other. And they let us decorate and personalize the space. We had 35 guests and they all had the best time. The food, the space, and the staff were all amazing. But Walter, who I dealt with for planning the party was even more than that. He was so easy to work with, so accommodating, and so on top of all of the small, important details, such a pleasure to deal with. If you're looking to have a private party event in Morris County at a wonderful venue you simply can't go wrong with The Grand Cafe.

Google
Wonderful restaurant with great food, drinks and service. The outside seating area is very nice in a pretty location. Had the seafood crepe which was delicious, with plentiful shrimp and crab and delicate sauce. Tasty duck entree. Joel our server was super attentive and friendly. Julio was warm and attentive as well. Top notch restaurant. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Always a beautiful experience! Every time my family and I visit the Grand Cafe, we instantly remember why we love to dine there. As soon as we arrive, we are always welcomed by familiar smiles, a warm hug from Walter and a great conversation from Desmond or his daughter Allison. The atmosphere is always warm, relaxing and there is always the sound of a piano playing softly in the background. In the winter, the fire places are going, which just takes the dining experience to the next level. I always enjoy the oysters Rockefeller, maybe a dozen chilled blue points, and the rack of lamb is excellent as well as the Berkshire pork chop. I recently enjoyed there andouille sausage and lentil appetizer, absolutely loved it. We always finsh the dinner with the best souffle around. When it comes to restaurants, there are very few that have the whole package. The Grand Cafe is a resturant that offers great food, excellent atmosphere and makes you feel like your truly dining with family! Thanks for all the memories!

Yelp
This was 2nd time here and again spectacular. Got a table in the corner overlooking the whole room. Beautiful atmosphere, perfect lighting and fast service. We had the escargot, calamari, filet mignon and the sea food pasta. Everything was perfect. We'll be back

Yelp
Went here for an impromptu lunch where i wasn't really dressed properly, but the staff attended to me like royalty anyway. The service here is the kind you don't see any more in many expensive restaurants. The server is very attentive and is your personal bartender making the drinks by hand. Not just any drink either, the French 75s were top notch! Since it was lunch, we decided on multiple appetizers and salad. Escargot, Foie Gras, special pate as well as the salads were all amazing! The ambiance is quiet and formal, but so relaxing after a hectic day. My only recommendation to elevate the experience would be to offer small baguettes instead of rolls. A crispy skinned baguette goes well with everything i mentioned. Highly recommend for all occasions and even a quick lunch if they are not too busy!!!!.

Yelp
Food, Service, Ambience. all were 5 stars. I don't want to use descriptions such as "traditional", "from another era" or "mainstay" - these tell the wrong story. FOOD The food was amazing and thought provoking. We had rack of lamb and strip steak au poivre. did not disappoint. Appetizers included warm Brie as well as a wedge with an amazing mustard seed sauce inspired dressing. Good choices. AMBIENCE We were there for our 36th anniversary and were able to carry on our conversations without having to change our volume. The service team delivered a wonderful dessert plate for us to devour. THANKS SERVICE Joel was on point and we know why. Everything delivered proudly on time and temperature. They know what they are doing. all in all- it was great to be back, felt like a big hug.

Yelp
We came to the grand cafe Friday night June 28 at 830 pm. We came just for the soufflé but ate dinner first. Upon arriving we told the owner to make sure to put in our soufflé. When we ordered our food we told the waiter the same. Once we were done with our food we asked the busboy if the soufflé was ready that they can just bring as we had to go home. He then got the waiter and the waiter said it's coming. We waited another 10 min and the hostess came over to ask if everything was ok. We told her we ordered a soufflé but still waiting. At this point we want to leave so asked for the check. It took her another 8 min just to get the check. I am so disappointed as we haven't been here in years and will not be going back. I will say my steak was delicious though.

Yelp
Incredible old school vibe with excellently prepared French classics, amazing service, and a good wine list that won't break the bank if you don't want. Ask for a banquette table if you can get one, and dress up a bit to fit the in better. I recommend trying a special or two: the pate of duck leg confit was awesome, as was the beet salad. The scallops were done perfectly. Don't be turned off by "old school French food" if you don't know it. The chef has free rein from the owner to try new things (see the comment on trying specials).

Yelp
We are here to make you happy! From you enter until you leave. . Most staff have been with us since the doors opened in 1981.

Yelp
Ordered: Wild Mushroom Ravioli with a Truffle Brandy Cream Sauce New York Angus Sirloin with a Red Wine Demi Glaze: with mashed potatoes, carrots, and green beans Belgium Chocolate Mouse Torte with Vanilla Ice Cream Aya's take: Came to The Grand Cafe for a business dinner (so no specific prices available). They have an upstairs section which you can book for your private party along with a bar area. It has an "older" feel to it, so if you like a more modern ambiance, this place is not it but it certainly has its charm. I particularly enjoyed the ravioli, the sirloin was cooked to a perfect medium, and the mashed potatoes was a nice side to accompany the sirloin. The dessert was pretty mediocre, to be honest, but otherwise, it was a good time!

Yelp
The grand cafe is a modern french cuisine restaurant in Morristown. The service is great. The food was a treat. loved the live music and dancing with a family environment was awesome.

Yelp
Delicious dinner and fantastic service! I definitely recommend this restaurant for drinks and dinner. We started with the oysters Rockefeller and escargot. Both were delicious, the waiter even brought us additional bread for the escargot which was greatly appreciated. For dinner we had the lamb special along with a few additional appetizers (foie gras and stir fried duck). All 3 were delicious! The lamb and foie gras were out of this world delicious! Dessert was cheesecake and expresso martini's. If you love martini's you need to order one here. You won't be disappointed! Overall the food was delicious, service was great and overall atmosphere was wonderful!

Yelp
A SOLID 5 STARS!!! The Grand Café took my breath away with its excellent Service, Food and Ambience! Last Tuesday, a friend and I were driving around Morristown and accidentally took a wrong turn. Actually, the long turn turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I saw The Grand Café Restaurant and knew we just had to stop in for lunch! Luckily we were able to dine without a reservation. (However, I would definitely recommend reservations for dinner). You couldn't have asked for nicer outdoor seating. Because of the elegant outdoor ambience, one would forget we're in a pandemic. All the staff wore masks and gloves. We started out with a Diet Pepsi and Gingerale. When the beverages arrived, they were stylized as if they were fancy cocktails. The servers gave us a lot of time to look over the menu. In addition, they were very knowledgeable about the menu. For an appetizer, we enjoyed a wonderful Seafood Crepe. The Crêpe was filled with a variety of wonderful seafood on a very hot platter. Our entrées consisted of a delicious Shrimp Tempura and a Beet Salad. I chose to add wonderful gulf shrimp with the Beet salad. The place isn't cheap. However, you definitely get what you pay for. I'd like to say many thanks again to Angel and the rest of wonderful staff at The Grand Café! Lots of parking in the area. The Grand Café is by the court complex away from the busy Morristown downtown area.

Yelp
Food here was so incredible! Everything tasted great. The service was also really good and quick. Everyone was very pleasant. The inside was super cute and cosy.

Yelp
Wonderful meal and service! While the inside appears a bit dated, the food was top notch.

Yelp
We visited on a Monday night to celebrate a work accomplishment for my wife. We had made a 5 o'clock reservation and were the first to arrive. It started filling up around 6. The outdoor area is quite beautiful. And there is a classy feel, even outside. We started with the Sweet Irish Clontarf Manhattan for $14. It tasted a bit watery and bland. The cherry was the died kind, we didn't eat it. I don't think I'll order another mixed drink here. They brought free bread out. It was reminiscent of the table bread in Europe, and equally meh. The butter tasted like old fridge. We thankfully didn't spread the butter all over the bread. We then had an appetizer called Sweet Pork Dumplings for $15. These are excellent. I eat a ton of Asian food and these stood out for me. I had the Chicken Parmesan for $28. The chicken had a great batter and it was cooked perfectly. It was on the bland side. The sauce wasn't that tasty. I imagine the Italians in the area might be used to a little bit more. My wife had Pan Roasted Long Island Duck Breast $36. The waiter said it comes out medium. Chestnut paste was plated with the duck. The duck came out cooked a little more than we hoped. But it was still a phenomenal plate. Definitely worth trying. We weren't happy with everything we ate, but the chef did a fantastic job on the Sweet Pork Dumplings and the Pan Roasted Long Island Duck Breast. The staff were extremely polite, friendly, professional, helpful, and courteous. I'm not sure, but I believe the owner was making rounds. Kudos to him for a job well done. The single issue with service was at the end. It took quite a while for someone to check back after we finished dinner. They left dessert menus and didn't come back until 20 minutes later. We decided to pass on dessert, because of the time. I don't think we'll come back. But it was a good experience.

Yelp
Went in for lunch today. Came a little close to 2 but had no problem getting a seat. The service was very professional and efficient. We ordered oysters and a French onion soup to start and a Niçoise salad and Steak sandwich for the mains. I have to say that the French onion soup was probably the best French onion soup I've ever had. This will bring me back. The salad, oysters and sandwich were great as well. Such nice ambience , friendly staff and awesome food. Five stars for sure. Well done. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Great quality classic dining in a beautiful outdoor patio setting. Warm and attentive service. Nice duck pate to start. Pan seared scallops were delicious. My wife had a fine sole meniur. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance, wonderful staff, professional service, fresh ingredients, all-around-excellent Italian cuisine. Did I mention my rehearsal dinner took place here? Nuff said. Must get: salmon, cheesecake, mushroom ravioli Meh: I don't know Missed out: regular dinner menu Grand cafe is absolutely beautiful, classy, and everything you really want for a special occasion (i.e. wedding). Unfortunately, much of my dining experiences (x2) were from the catering menu. However, I can state that when you are here, you are truly treated like the king and queen of your event. The staff are so generous and warming and the owners have stopped by and greeted us personally every time we visit. Sure, the individual menu items may be on a pricier side, and while I have actually yet to try the standard menu items, I can bank my reputation that the food will be prepared with the upmost care and attention to details. Also, you have got to reserve the third floor, the decor is beautiful!

Yelp
Great food and drinks, intimate atmosphere, and very attentive service. I was just disappointed because there was no vegetarian entree available. Instead, I ordered a salad and some sides. Truffle mac and cheese was great!

Yelp
Went with my girlfriends to Grand Cafe and we had a great time! They have a full bar and great food. One of the owners was around and he was a great host. The waitresses were also friendly and always checking if we needed anything else. Unfortunately they made a mistake on my order and instead of sending me the steak tartare I got the tuna tartare, but it's fine because was great. Had their famous chocolate soufflé and was also delicious.

Yelp
Amazing food, great staff - family run! A place they want to know you by name The sole dish is one of my favorites! If you love a liver dish this is your place!

Yelp
OK so I've lived in Morristown a little bit over a year. I've known about this place sometimes I forget it exists but tonight I tried it with my girlfriends. From the second you walk in the service is top notch. The bread was kind of disappointing it was hard and not warm so I didn't eat it. But The main dishes... wow they were incredible.i got the free range chicken and seriously I'd come back again just for the flavors of this dish. The decor as many have said is a little old fashioned... i felt like i was at someone's grandmas house in the middle of New Orleans. But the service and main food items outweigh the design of the place. Upon being seated, we were told about their soufflé and how we need to try it it is so good. We're pretty easy to please and agreed to it and were told to order it as we're ordering our mains. We finished dinner and our server came to us with dessert menus but we didn't say anything. After waiting a little while longer we asked about the soufflé and you could see if the servers face that he had forgotten to put the order in. We knew it took a good while to cook so we just told him to forget it because they were clearly cleaning up and getting ready to close. I know things happen and we were understanding but he was the one who had first told us about it. That was a little disappointing I have to say. But if that part didn't happen I would hands down give this restaurant 5 starts.

Yelp
Came here for Valentine's Day. We originally picked this place, as it seemed worth the price. After looking at the menu online, it looked like we would pay somewhere between $80-$100 per person. The first thing we were greeted with upon sitting down was a menu with an upcharged price of $150 per person. The food really better be worth it for a price like this. It wasn't. The foie gras was unexpectedly cooked. A bold choice. While the taste combination with the curry was interesting, it was marred by the unpleasant chewiness of the foie gras, which left an oily aftertaste. Online, this is priced at $35, but at this upcharged price, it was $50. The filet mignon was alright, not outstanding. The seafood pasta was the most disappointing. The scallops were rubbery, the dish overall was bland, and the sauce was basically water. Finally, the dessert came out. A run-of-the-mill brownie with a chocolate dipped strawberry and an ok macaron. $50 for a brownie, really?? The food was disappointing. The decor was beautiful, the building is marvelous. The waiter was very kind. However, there were too many waiters running around. There was constant traffic around our table, and some waiters just stood next to our table chatting loudly. The live pianist would have be a nice touch if only he didn't pause for 20 minutes after playing two pieces. This place did not make a good first impression. Definitely not worth the almost $500 tab for a two-person dinner!! Outrageously priced!!

C W.

Yelp
food was really mediocre, and we were shocked by the increase in price just due to valentines. seems if we came the day before or after, our price would've been reduced by a third. prices online are much cheaper, but their special valentines menu (which was exactly the same as the website's standard menu) had a huge price increase. absolutely ridiculous. $150 per person which included an appetizer, entree, and a brownie dessert, so $50 for each course. The same foods I ordered off that menu were much less pricey online. foie gras was rubbery and wet whereas it should be a fluffy mousse, the pasta was bland and watery with soggy noodles, and the brownie was too cold and unoriginal to be $50. We have fine dining experiences fairly regularly, and wouldn't have minded if the food was tasty enough to justify the price, but I wouldn't even come back here if they had priced our meal half off. It was loud inside. The pianist played only a handful of times but seemingly went out for errands in between pieces, because it would be a long wait between each song. Not really romantic ambiance despite the beautiful scenery. A man, who I assume was the owner, came out to check on all the tables towards the end of the meal, and was pleasant. We also ordered a glass of wine each, that was fine. Hard to mess up wine. The glasses weren't spotless, though, but probably because they were run through a dishwasher rather than dried properly. What I'm most disappointed with is the price. Not worth our nearly $400 bill (before tip). Honestly, we would've had a better time going to a mid-tier restaurant; the food and price would've been better anywhere else. Very disappointing.

Nat K.

Yelp
I attended a business dinner so it was a fixed menu. Very disappointed because I had heard such great things about this place. I got wilted Caesar salad and dry sirloin (not medium like I requested) The ambience was nice but it ends there.

Yelp
Lively, bustling atmosphere, live piano music and beautiful decor! Transported back in time the minute you walk in the door. Lovely location, parking is a bet cumbersome, however. Great food, excellent service! Absolutely would recommend!

Patricia W.

Yelp
It's old fashioned yes I grant you that but I love the ambience and the piano during dinner. We had dover sole that is probably one of the fish courses I have ever tasted. The steak also amazing and my brother who had flown in said the pork chop was melt in the mouth. Service is always sharp and the team make it a pleasant overall experience. Don't overlook this one when in morristown

Yelp
This place has been on my bookmarked list for awhile now. I've always admired the outside and wanted to pop in. Today for my birthday I had myself a nice lunch. The interior is very vintage/classic - beautiful stained glass, pink table cloths, and roses on every table. It felt like Valentine's Day. Everyone who came to our table was more than nice and caring. For food: I had the French onion soup (one of my top 5 fav soups). For me...it was a little too sweet. It needed to be a little more savory. They added on crispy onions on the top, which I thought would be a nice texture compliment, but it just didn't work. I still ate and enjoyed most of it. Then I had the chicken francese. They NAILED the sauce. DELICIOUS. I was scraping the plate for that sauce. I only wish the chicken was softer. Chicken francese, at least in my mind, should be able to fall apart with a fork. I had to cut this chicken somewhat. The mashed potatoes and string beans/ carrots that came with the chicken were nice. Completed my meal with a glass of Riesling. Overall, a very lovely restaurant that I would return to.
google avatar

Karina U.

Yelp
You feel fancy just walking into this place. Overall, service was what you would expect of such a place and the only thing I would nitpick with service was that although our waiter made several stops to our table to ask about drinks (particularly alcoholic $$ ones for a work lunch), he seemed to disappear for some time before finally taking our order. Everyone at the table seemed happy with their orders and all plates were emptied. My chicken parm was tender and juicy and they give you quite a bit (a lot) of Parmesan cheese to sprinkle on. Portion sizes were good, pasta portion was not overwhelming and chicken was a good size. The prices were definitely on the higher end. Calamari crispy-ness was good but rings were quite small. Flavor was average, marinara sauce wasn't my favorite. Cappuccino was good but small.

Robert K.

Yelp
Probably the most overrated restaurant in Morris County. My wife and I went there for our anniversary. Halfway through our meal we were reseated from our table to a booth. Apparently the table next to us was offended by something we said. This rude treatment was followed by a filet mignon that had enough salt on it to make the Dead Sea seem like fresh water. Very disappointing experience.
google avatar

Cara G.

Yelp
Had lunch at The Grand Cafe after the mid day rush. We had the outdoor seating to ourselves and it was absolutely perfect. We listened to jazz music while dining on our chicken entrees and the service was wonderful. We ended our meal with delicious cappuccinos and shared a piece of cheesecake. At the end of our meal, a gentleman who I'm assuming was the owner, asked us about our experience. That was so kind and we appreciated that he took the time to ask us about our meal. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Sat outside on a summer like day! The service was painfully slow. It took over 90 minutes before we received our appetizers. We were not happy. They offered us complimentary drinks which is good but soon we were hit with an absurd meal price. So finally the food.... Mushroom crepe - still a winner Stir fry duck - good not great Steak- good Bronzino - tastes better than the $45 sole special. Dover sole special- I was shocked when I got the bill and saw this was $45!!! It was not tasty and it was paired with tasteless vegetables and plain mashed potatoes! There was nothing redeeming about this fish. The price is criminal!!! Be sure to ask the price of the special. Very disappointed and not sure I would go back here. Overall the experience tonight was not good.

Marc S.

Yelp
I have to say, I have been a little intimidated at this place in the past, as it is a five-star French restaurant. There is actually a dress code that they abide by. No shorts in the dining room. Having said that, I have been there twice in the last month and I am so glad I decided to see what it was all about. The food was excellent. We sat outside both times on the patio which has great ambience. The wait staff were white gloved and extremely friendly and professional. The elderly owner comes around and graciously asks how everything is. Food was outstanding. Lobster bisque, lobster, fusilli, seafood pasta, chocolate, mousse, cake... Outstanding all for a very reasonable price, which is on par or cheaper than some of the overrated, overpriced new "pizza joint"restaurants in Morristown.

Yelp
We came here for dinner. When we arrived, we asked the waiter for a cocktail menu and he replied "we don't have one, we have everything." But after consideration, he remembered they had one and brought it. We ordered some cocktails and waited 10 minutes before we received the actual food menu. At this point, we were about to leave but unfortunately the other place we wanted to go to was closed on Mondays. Pros: Great name for a restaurant, good location, lots of seemingly good options on the menu. All the drinks ordered were good Con: Very poor service..

Yelp
Reserved the third floor for a private event for 10. Lots of pleasant staff, yet service wasn't good. Passed hors d'oeuvres were nice to have, but not very good. To accommodate a guest I moved my seat, and as a result I wasn't served any of the food I had ordered! I had to flag down a waiter in order to get served each and every course! I'm the host, I'm paying $2,000, and I don't get served because I changed seats! Ordered a steak, which was grainy and lacked flavor. The chocolate dessert gave me an upset stomach! On the bright side, the place is gorgeous, and from reading reviews, you can often get a good meal, but clearly not always!

Yelp
I went to a small intimate wedding at the Grand Cafe this weekend and it was excellent! The food was delicious. But what really stood out was the service! Walter was EXCELLENT!! I told him I had food allergies and he went above and beyond to accommodate me which was so appreciated. He made the night so special, by the end everyone was chanting "Walter! Walter! Walter!" Highly recommend!!!!

Yelp
Solid 4 star lunch experience with a great atmosphere and exceptional staff. I ordered from the prix fixe menu. It included an appetizer, main course and dessert. Everything came out quick, was cooked perfectly and was flavorful.

Yelp
Impeccable serving. Food created with care-even the simplest choice. A class act. Especially nice in warm weather with outdoor dining, but charming interior also.

Yelp
*baked oysters (yummy! Creamy and rich; loved that spicy mayo on top too; presentation of this was super cute with oysters on a bed of seaweed) *mushroom crepe (pretty good; I liked the crepe batter, it was light and fluffy; I wish there was more mushrooms inside, nevertheless the sauteed mushrooms were on point); foi gras (probably the best thing I ate all night! savory and rich, I wish this came with more toast to soak up all the goodness) *filet of sole (I was drawn in with the description of this special but I got suckered into ordering this; not good at all; I don't think the fish was fresh and the veggies were either just boiled or steamed which didn't help with the lack of flavor from the fish; expensive and not worth it) *Pekin duck entrée (very good! the sauce was sweet and savory, reminiscent of a terikayi style sauce; the duck was cooked medium, meat was tender and not chewy at all) *baked alaska (what an awesome presentation!! I thought they were going to burn my face off but thank god. I didn't hear the waiter tell me to blow it out so thankfully my boyfriend who sat next to me told me to, and I didn't set off any fire alarms which would have been tragic for everybody; despite how pretty this look, I HATED the taste; like super anise seed tasting, the cake inside was dry, the meringue was more like huge marshmallow, never again! haha) *crème brulee (meh. it was ok. the top was kind of burnt tasting). The place is quite traditional and more geared towards a mature crowd. Got a gift card for this so why not try it, right?? I definitely don't regret going. I think the dining experience wasn't bad. Food was hit or miss but overall OK. Service is friendly but sometimes you can't understand the waiters' heavy spanish accents. Not my kind of restaurant but I can see why people would enjoy it. Wouldn't return unless I got another gift card. LOL.

Yelp
I had a wonderful dinner outside. The space over looks a courtyard on a popular street. The wine, Dover sole and cappuccino was excellent. The serving sizes are just enough. The wait staff is very attentive. I'll go back!

Yelp
Where's the French menu? I don't see one. We ate there a few years ago and we felt it was an American menu. It's presented as a French restaurant. Disappointing experience overall.

Yelp
For 39 years Desmond Lloyd has run a wonderful restaurant in Morristown. Tonight we enjoyed a first class anniversary celebration sitting outside with beautiful service and top notch food. The shrimp scampi and oyster Rockefeller was nicely presented and the taste was superb. Our entrees of Ahi Tuna and rare Duck Breast was prepared as few restaurants do. Restaurants come and go but The Grand Cafe with the elegant host of Mr Lloyd and men like Walter make any dinner a special event. Over the years the chef has changed and updated the menu with a wide selection of perfectly prepared fare. With all the options in Morristown and the area The Grand Cafe is a must go to experience the definition of true fine dining.

Yelp
This place is like walking onto the set of Grand Hotel many decades ago. Just darling. It was really cold that night and we asked to sit by the fireplace, glorious. Real roses on all the tables and our server's beautiful French accent added to our experience. :) I wasn't exceptionally hungry so I ordered the Warm Brie Salad. It was excellent! The accompanying dressing was champagne grape vinaigrette. I would buy it by the bottle if I could. My friend ordered the pork chop--a huge portion--and tried a little. It was excellent too.

Yelp
I threw my husband a 50th birthday party at The Grand Cafe, and it was absolutely magnificent from start to finish. I can't say enough wonderful things--but here, I'll try. Walter was my main point of contact. He's a professional, through and through--and an absolute delight to work with from start to finish. He helped me set up a giant step-and-repeat wall, made sure my mom and I were comfortable during set-up, he's just the absolute best. The menu he put together was perfection. All the guests are raving about the food and drinks. Incredible quality passed appetizers (stand-outs--the cocktail shrimp, the bacon-wrapped scallops, the smoked salmon--but they were ALL top notch), a delicious option of main courses (the steak! oh the steak!) and even the dessert, a big chocolate cake was outstanding. Light cake, perfect frosting, huge slices--everyone left happy. How many times do you leave a party where all the guests are hugging goodbye to the staff?! To say the service was beyond incredible doesn't even do it justice. My 7-year old nephew is a picky eater. We told him the bacon-wrapped scallops were bacon-wrapped bacon and he gobbled them down. The staff was quick to make a plate for him (without spoiling our little ruse). For our party of 30, we had the run of the second floor with our own bathrooms and bar. It's a quaint cozy room, and that meant we didn't need to do much to decorate. Extra lovely. We also had Trivia Pop come after dinner to run trivia for our guests. Again, Walter made sure they had everything they needed to make it work. (And it was crazy fun--highly recommend using them. The custom questions about my husband were brilliant!). All of this for an incredibly reasonable price for a Saturday night event. I honestly can't recommend The Grand Cafe enough--it would be an amazing place for a bridal shower, big birthday, or anything. Get 30 friends together and have the best holiday party ever. Honestly, since we left I've been trying to come up with a reason to plan another party, ASAP. Thank you to Walter and everyone at The Grand Cafe for making my husband's party perfect. *One small caveat--to get to the private room on the second floor, you do have to go up a small flight of stairs. That was OK for my guests, but thought I'd mention it.
