The Grandview Restaurant

Truly an amazing view to have while having dinner. We got seated by the windows and got to see Lake Geneva right in front of us. Try reserving an earlier time for a better chance at getting a table by the windows. Their shrimp cocktail is exquisite - super fresh and big! Steak was very well prepared. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience.

Pros: - Staff were fantastic - Food was amazing - Great atmosphere - Everything was clearly fresh made Cons: - Pricy (but you should know that going into it) The Grandview is definitely a fine dining restaurant in an upscale 4 star hotel, and, it fulfills it's role of being that perfectly. Going into the restaurant, I did expect it to have the usual fine-dining fare that you expect, however, this was not exactly the case as the menu did have your Wisconsin twists you come to adore from the state. I would've never expected to have to write that there was such a thing as a "fancy cheese-curd" however, here we are. To think that a bacon jam would go well with a cube of fried cheese was foreign to me until last night, but, cleary someone in the kitchen had an "a ha" moment and made the most interesting and, quite frankly, delicious combination that I would've balked at had I not taken the gamble and tried it. To move past the cheese, the next app. we tried were the crab cakes. A little small on size for the price tag, but very large on flavor. The jalapeño remoulade was extremely well made, and while it could've had a bit more kick to it, the subtle jalapeño flavor it provided was just enough to be noticible, but, not enough to be spicy at all to the properly accustomed. Now, I cannot speak to the steak personally; however, my dining partner was very quick to awknowledge that it was one of the best steaks they have ever had; and used the word "heavenly" to describe it; and, heavenly is definitely the word I would use for the lamb shank. You can always tell the skill of a chef by how moist and fall off the bone the lamb is, and, I didn't need a knife at all for the lamb. Tender is barely enough to describe how smoothly the meat cascaded from the bone; by far it was one of the best lamb dishes I have had in a very long time. My only minor complaint to it is that the carrot coulis was a little over-powering for the nice subtleties the dish had built up and layered; and, I, personally, failed to taste the mint despite the rosemary giving a fantastic hint to the demi-glace. The wine the waitress helped us pick out was also fantastic and paired with the entire meal excellently; however, it was not restaurant made so I won't go into a deep review; just wanted to throw in there that the waitress, at least ours, was extremely knowledgable about it. While on the note of the waitress, she was definitely a highlight of the night; I wish I had paid a bit more attention at the beginning of the meal so I could have gotten it to name her specifically. Finally, to end this review through, I have to add one final note about the deserts. We didn't order them at the restaurant, however, I came to find out that the 'sweets package' I purchased as an add-on to the hotel room was made in house at the restaurant, and every taste on it was outstanding. If you like deserts, again, this restaurant will be an absolute highlight for that - and sweets are one of the few things I am the most picky about; so again, massive props to the culinary experts here. Review for the hotel still coming, but, day one in; the restaurant is so far a huge highlight.

We were party of 10 and reserved the supper club for brunch of saturday. I cant tell you how perfect everything was. Our server was very very nice and helpful. They accomodated us very well and we felt very comfortable. Ambience 5 out of 5. Restaurant is located along the lake shore, you can even take a walk with a wine. Food was okayish, They have a good selection of wines and drinks. All in all it was a good experience.

We went to the restaurant on the Mother’s Day. Service was pretty slow, but the food was totally worth the weight. My burger was made perfectly to order, my wife’s chicken was very juicy, mashed potatoes tasted out of this earth and green beans were cooked just right. If you go to this restaurant my advice is to be patient and wait. Honestly, the food you will eat is totally worth it. I think I will remember this food for many years!

Go for the view; one of the best places to see the lake and sunsets. I had their 8oz NY Strip and I asked for it to be rare; honestly, an Outback Steakhouse steak is better than the one I got. I would recommend it for the view and the atmosphere and of course get a table by the windows. During the summer you can people watch and enjoy the lake life from here as you sip on some delicious wine. Their options for wine were great though.

The Grandview restaurant was absolutely beautiful! My boyfriend and I had a window view,where he proposed to me.Our waitress Marina? was wonderful! The food was so delicious,that were still talking about it! This was our first time going to The Grandview restaurant and we plan to keep coming back.

Food is good. Our server was nice but had to take care of too many tables so did not really check on us at all. The view is spectacular.

Complimentary bread comes as a loaf with herb butter. The chicken Milanese pasta itself was good, but the fried chicken was horrible. It tasted sour, like it was no longer fresh and safe to eat. Would not recommend, especially for the price. The service was good though.

In love with these appetizers !!! You just have to taste it all A specially duck crostini ( thin and crunchy bread topped with delicious duck meat with sour cherry on top)

They advertise a 3-5pm happy hour. My husband & I went at 3:30, and there was one employee tidying around the bar. I asked if they were open for happy hour still and she looked unsure and said "yes, but I'm not sure where the bartender is" then turned around to continue on what she was doing. I tried asking a follow up question to find out if we could sit down at a table and wait for the bartender who seemingly disappeared, but got no response. We felt very awkward and just left. A shame this restaurant is not what we expected as all, since we weren't even allowed in.

The service wasn't great, and the food was even worse. The view was nice, but it was covered in gnats. We got complimentary bread, which was decent. We ordered a charcuterie board and linguini. The charcuterie board was terrible, with 10 massive blocks of cheese and only 4 thinly sliced pieces of meat. A new dates and raisins, and hard cardboard crackers. The linguini was undercooked, and way overpriced at $40. It was pretty tasteless. The orzo "summer" salad was just cooked orzo. No seasoning, vinaigrette, or other ingredients. They never cleared our table, so the empty bread basket and charcuterie board was on the small table the entire time. For $140, we basically ate the bread basket. To top off the dinner, some other guests near us were being very rude because our table was blocking their view. As if we could control that. Do not recommend.

We came here especially for the Mother's Day Brunch, which was a disaster. Poor service and worse food. There was no mention in making reservations that it was a buffet, just a limited menu from their regular breakfast choices. And on top of all that, the prices were astronomical. They even had the nerve to charge $25 for a toddler's meal. We will not be returning soon...if ever.

I came here with my partner during the late summer, and they had a vegetarian ratatouille option which I think was a special they offered during this time. The food was good, I wouldn't say it was the best food I've had but it wasn't bad. They could season the vegetables a bit more for added flavor. I would rate the food by itself only three stars but the service and ambience built my rating up to four. The service was friendly and professional in our experience. The ambiance was what really sells this place, unbeatable views of the lake. We didn't find any other restaurant with the views we were able to have here. There isn't a guarantee that you will have a window seat with the reservations but we got lucky and it was a lovely experience all in all

My favorite restaurant ever! The food never fails, and the view by the lake is amazing! Wonderful staff, and amazing chefs! If you are ever at Lake Geneva, please go to this restaurant!

We dined here for Christmas Eve. The cocktails were outstanding. The table ordered both brandy and bourbon old fashions. The wine selection is extensive. We had all three of the appetizers which were a charcuterie board, scallops, and calamari. The dinner options has some specials and some off the regular menu. We had the short ribs with mashed which were tender and lean but the version served had a root beer infused taste and were too sweet for the plate. Watching the other tables you could see the dinner option to order was a version of steaks. We will go back.

Okay, I'll start off by saying that if you aren't looking to splurge a little, don't come here. It's pricey, but so tasty. Wherever you sit, you get a great view and the restaurant is roomy and a warm atmosphere. And really, how can you beat dinner watching the sunset? If you come, make reservations if possible. Some nights you won't need them, but most nights you do. Their servers, serving assistants, bartenders, and other staff are a group that not only service you well, but are genuinely good people. Always smiles on their faces and you can tell they're there because they want to be. Their menu changes with the seasons, and the chef does great work incorporating seasonal food items. DO NOT skip dessert ever either. It's truly always so, so good. They always have the best cakes, and their creme brûlée is tastyyy too. I've truly never had anything here that I didn't enjoy. Their seafood is always fresh and cooked perfectly, their pasta is homemade and you can taste it, and their steak cuts are always the best. Oh and their drink specials are always excellent too, but you can never go wrong with one of their martinis. If you're in the area and want a nice little treat or need a nice special occasion spot, I recommend trying here.

I'm amazed by the service and the staff all around. I want to make sure everyone understands 5 stars are for that. The amazing staff, I cannot remember all their names. Colin was our server and he took great care of my friends and I. We ordered the cheese curds 2X because they were That amazing and a stuffed calamari and two Caesar salads to start. The cheese curds were the star of the show. The rest was gross. I don't often say that any food is gross, but this calamari was cold and smelled rather fishy and just not tasty in any way. The Caesar salad was drenched in dressing and had an odd fishy smell as well not in any way appetizing and the worst part, the salads were lukewarm. Hello, salads need to be crisp and cold. Colin took care of us right away and my friends' entrees made up for the lack in the appetizers (excluding the cheese curds). My friends enjoyed the Veal, the Filet Mignon and the and Sea Bass and all were amazing. I ordered the bolognese and it was again very disheartening. I was so sad at this point that I did not have the heart to send it back. I drank my Kim Crawford and let my friends enjoy their meal in peace until I could order dessert. The bolognese was hard, the pasta literally stuck to my fork and was one big lump, it was lukewarm with only the top being warm due to the sauce. The sauce was worse than Ragu with no flavor and the meat questionable compared to my friends' meals. I had to ask myself what kind of karmic shit this was. What had I done to piss off the foodie gods. What had I done to deserve this? I had given up by this point. I figured I would just fill up on desert and did not want to be a downer on my friends Bday about how another dish was awful. The dessert though was great! I ordered and enjoyed the the butter pecan ice-cream and my friend the chocolate cake. Colin refilled our cups with ice cold water as many times as we asked and he was just so wonderful. Honestly, he is the reason I am giving 5 stars AND he comped 3 of my friends drinks for the horrible salads and gross calamari which is pretty sweet! All in all, I'd say the food was a 4/5 and service 10/5. Would I come back, probably if Colin is there and I'd order another entree. No salad, no calamari. Dessert for sure!

The view at our window side table of the lake was fives stars and so was the service. The food was average and pricy so I'm going to average our visit to 4 stars overall. We stayed in the hotel but that will be another review. We came down for Happy Hour before our dinner reservation. The bar faces the back wall of the restaurant and we were wondering why they couldn't figure out a way to have the bar staged so you could see the beautiful lake while enjoying an expectantly prepared cocktail. When we went back to our room I stopped to the host stand to make sure that my request for was window table was all set. I was told that they do not always honor a window table. I explained that we were staying at the hotel for our anniversary and that was the specific reason for us dining at The Grandview. After that conversation I was told that there would be a window table for us. When we arrived for dinner there was a window seat with a happy anniversary card. Nice comeback. Our server was excellent and very attentive and engaging. Although this could be called a steakhouse with four steak offerings I had a taste for pasta so I ordered the Radiatori Ragu. It sounded great with the house made pasta with a wild mushroom sauce including celery, onion, carrot, pecorino, short rib and a Demi-Glaze sauce. The first thing that cam to mind when I tasted it was pot roast. With all those ingredients I expected so much more flavor. My wife had the Sea Bass and she loved it. The portion size was every bit of the 10 ounces the menu said it was and was served with Mashed Yukon Potatoes with a saffron cream sauce. Excellent. Upscale dining and dining room with excellent service.

We had a great experience. NY Strip was cooked to perfection. One of the best steaks I have had. We got the short rib flatbread, also very good. We will always be staying at the Geneva Inn and dining here when we visit.

First of all: THE FOOD WAS WELL-PREPARED, TASTY, PLENTIFUL, AND THE CORRECT TEMPERATURE AT THE TABLE. AMBIANCE WAS TERRIFIC! But, I agree with other reviewers on Yelp....they could be a 5-star place if they trained their servers and paid more attention to detail. First, we ordered appetizers to share.....no plates were delivered to the table with these appetizers which meant we used our 4" diameter bread plates for messy appetizers. These bread plates were then collected after the appetizer round which left us no place for our bread and butter. Second, having appetizers and a salad, we had used two forks...as well as dirtied our knives. Silverwear should have been collected and replaced before the entree was delivered. Third, it was a birthday for two of the three people at the table....the two people were asked whether they would like a brownie dessert for free (very gracious of the restaurant)...but the person who did not have a birthday was never offered a dessert menu or offering. Fourth, after 15 minutes, the server came back and stated that the kitchen was so backed up that the brownies weren't possible, but that we could have ice cream right now. Okay, strange that we were offered something that couldn't be fulfilled and then it took 15 minutes to find that out. Again, no dessert and no third spoon was brought to the table for the third person to share the ice cream. Fifth, we had ordered drinks to start our meal but we were never asked whether we wanted any other drinks. Sixth, our water was never refilled at the table. Seventh, a "special appetizers" card was delivered to the table with the menu. But the server never mentioned the special entree offerings to us. We later heard this same server telling the table next to us about the specials, well after we ordered our own food. Disappointing as we heard a special that we would have liked. For a high-end restaurant, where our bill topped $300 for 3 people with just a couple of drinks and free dessert, the service should be better. And, while the service issues dominate the text of this review, the first paragraph stands....excellent food, preparation, and ambiance! Do not let these issues prevent you from visiting this nice restaurant!

Visited here for the first time in September for early fall late summer during Covid. Luckily I made reservations ahead of time even though it was a week day holiday lunch. The place does get full. Parking is easy as expected because they have their own parking lot and while pulling in coincidentally so did their lobster delivery which was great to see. We were allowed to order from breakfast and the lunch menu for our seating however as I may have commented on open table as well I do find the menu a little limited and not as diverse in choices and options. I also would have hope to find some signature or unique dishes that belong to this particular chef or this local area or even something uniquely created just for this restaurant and hotel. Food quality is good but nothing that wows me or makes me think I have to come back here when I come back to Lake Geneva as there are a multitude of options. Service was friendly and decent so no complaints. Ambience is impeccable from the view to the interior features such as the wine wall. I look forward to the menu continually evolving and expanding.

Loved the meal. The steak prices are outrageous though. Enjoyed one prix fixe which included a 6oz sirloin but the oxtail sauce stole the show. Absolutely made the meal. Raspberry white chocolate cake was beautiful in appearance but average in taste. Cake was a little dense. Also dined on chicken piccata which included the most wonderful loaded potatoes and green beans. Chicken was not tender but was ok tasting. Beautiful view. Tremendous ambience. Wonderful service, albeit a little too quick. Felt slightly rushed. Restaurant was packed. Would absolutely go back.

If you have read any of my reviews you know I try to be as factual as possible for the benefit of others! The Grandview used to be an elegant resturant with a beautiful view of Lake Geneva! I will say it still has a great view of the lake, unfortunately that's all I can say positive about the Grandview! We just returned from a Birthday dinner for my wife! Cocktails at Happy Hour $18 for a Kettle One on the rocks. The remaining menu items follow with the highest prices in Lake Geneva! Food selections are limited. Maybe $70 for a steak at a downtown Gene & Georgette's steak house but for a so so not prime steak in Wisconsin! The Ragiatori pasta $40 could have been better if it came out of a can! It was over cooked and in clumps. The manager on the way out said I understand you were disappointed with the pasta! Hah, not we are sorry or a discount on a crappy meal. Just we'll try better next time. Well for us there will not be another next time. Obviously we are not the first to recognize the disaster at the Grandview. As we left at 6:30pm on a Saturday night and the resturant had 5 tables of people. Less than 20% of the place. Great view! Order a Diet Coke and enjoy! Sorry!

Part 1 - Tuesday Night It was a Tuesday night here at the Geneva Inn in Lake Geneva. It's getting close to peak season but not quite there yet; although you can feel this town starting to ramp up. The midges (these small non-biting Insects) are out and everyone's business now is to eradicate these pesky bugs. For this reason the Grandview Restaurant at our hotel is not yet at full staff. We went downstairs to have a drink and discuss what we wanted to do for dinner. This unbelievable young man who was wearing a bartender's hat, a waiter's hat, a busboy hat, a concierge hat and a Lake Geneva tourist bureau hat, guided us through drinks, a dinner we unexpectedly ended up having here and as a guide in what to do here. He was a whirlwind dynamo who was infectious, delightful and knew his "people" skills to a tee! He made a mean Negroni, a serious martini and paired our wines with the dinner we chose to have here. He curated a beautiful dinner knowing what to order (seeing the chef was off this night) and we were so happy with our food, ambiance and service, we decided to come again tomorrow night when the actual chef would be here. Part 2 - Wednesday Night Well, here we are again, next night and a full menu. We had the same drinks as the night before but the menu has changed radically. I had a terrific Geneva Chopped salad which would translate to a wedge chopped salad. My wife had for dinner Shrimp Scampi and I had Cioppino and both were fantastic. Everything was as perfect as the night before so it's safe to say, when we are in the Lake Geneva area, this will be our hotel / restaurant of choice.

Great view of the lake to enjoy while having a meal. We had dinner there recently, scallops and also a red snapper special. Both entrees were outstanding. Service was great.

We have been wanting to try this place which is positioned within the Geneva Inn Hotel. With a little time on our hands we popped in. It was prior to 5pm so only appetizers were being served but wow were they delicious. Beautiful place, food is top notch and staff was very friendly. Great experience and a must try.

Service was great! Food had great flavor, we had the lamb shank and the NY strip. For dessert we had crème brûlée which was so good, especially with the fresh berries on top. Can't beat the view. We will be back!

Excellent service and they didn't mind the kids, accommodated them when they were a bit crabby! Brought out fruit and coloring sheets! Waitress was great!

The food, service, and view of Lake Geneva are spectacular. Enjoy at every opportunity.

Food service and atmosphere good. They need to learn how to make a martini. Ordered a Bamboo Sapphire martini with Bleu cheese olives and it came to the table in a champagne glass, with 2olives balanced on top with a plastic toothpick. It didn't have an icy skin like a good martini should, in fact it wasn't very cold at all, and I doubt that it was Bamboo Sapphire gin. Also, it was my wife's birthday and we ordered a piece of cake for desert and I asked for a candle so I could sing happy birthday to her. The waitress told me they were out of candles. Huh??!!

Like most higher end it was on the pricier side, especially if you order steaks. We had the roasted chicken with mash potatoes and green beans. All was very delicious! The greens beans could have been cooked longer, they were a bit hard. I had a fruity martini that was so refreshing and tasty. For a high end establishment, I did expected a more upscale look with tablecloths and refreshed furniture. My chair seat had a lot of wear. The male host could have been dressed nicer. It looked like he just came in from the beach with shorts and hairy legs exposed. Not appealing or professional looking. We were happy that we were seated by the windows for a great view of the lake, spectacular! And the complimentary dessert for our celebration was to die for and appreciated. All in all a very nice dinner with lake views.

We saw this restaurant on Yelp and it had high ratings so we were excited to try it. Wow we were not disappointed!!! First, we sat next to the window by the lake. It was lovely. I had the sea bass tacos and the flavor was outstanding. Pretty sure I had a flavor explosion in my mouth with the first taco bite. A little sweet, tangy and spicy. Yum! Totally recommend Monty had the signature burger with a side of hash browns. The burger was juicy and savory. The has browns were seasoned with chives and were delicious. What a surprise! We will be coming back for sure.

Fantastic views of the lake and delicious food. I had the salmon which was prepared to perfection. It was a nice light meal. My husband had the chicken with the spicy rice. That was also very tasty and chicken cooked perfectly. Wine by the glass not overly priced which was nice to see.

Shorter distances have always appealed to me for summer getaways, and of all the options within a short drive of my home on Chicago's North Shore, few appeal more than Lake Geneva. Barely an hour away across the Wisconsin border, we recently returned to this attractive resort for the first time in several years to decompress from a thus-far more hectic than usual summer. Of all the things to love about Wisconsin--and there are many--food is arguably top of mind. If you leave there hungry, it's your own damn fault, and I have long maintained that it is virtually impossible to have a bad meal of any kind anywhere within her boundaries. So when we arrived at The Grandview on the first night of a recent overnight stay, I neither feared nor expected an exception. Located directly of the waterfront side of the Geneva Inn, the only hotel that is actually on Lake Geneva, The Grandview is a long, spacious, unpretentiously elegant, multi-tiered room, lightly occupied on our Monday Night High Season visit, its bar smartly perched at the top level for both people watching as well as divisioning drinkers from eaters. The view from the window tables, with or without the soft pink and blue Impressionist sunset (ours was with) is one reason why a trip to any Lake District is worthwhile--as is also, ideally, the food. Hotel restaurants are a common way station for freshly minted chefs on their way to more seasoned achievements, but they can of course often be as mediocre as they are overpriced. The Grandview, thankfully, is not the latter, and it atones for the sort of relatively minor failings that such an an attractive incubator for culinary talent can and should be forgiven. The current dinner menu is adequately varied in a safe, predictable, Midwestern kind of way. Picky eaters have no reason to worry, but truly adventurous palates (like mine) will not be too excited. The most exotic appetizer offering, an intriguingly Basque-ish sounding Stuffed Calamari, was sold out, a disappointment deepened further by the lack of an alternative warm seafood opener. I settled instead for the Seafood Cocktail plate, which arrived with neither lemon nor shellfish picks, on a bed of cubed rather than properly crushed ice. The generous serving of prawnlike shrimp and meaty Pacific Crab claws was impressively fresh, albeit devoid of any detectable marine flavour or aroma. The large cup of aggressively pungent horseradish puree, however, was easily the best and strongest my nostrils have ever encountered. Jeannie's appetizer, Ricotta And Prociutto Crostini, fared infinitely better, its preparation equally matching the quality and sophistication of its ingredients. Fish can be a gamble when you are this far inland, but when Chilean Sea Bass is on the menu, I order it. The Grandview does it well: a large, perfectly cooked tranche, served Brazilian Moqueca style atop a generous bed of al dente saffron risotto. It looked--and tasted--like something I would make at home, and a side order of luscious, creamy, gently seared sea scallops made it even better. Ever the carnivore, my Jeannie chose the Petite Filet Mignon, the usual 6 ounce cut, conspicuous in this case for its pairing with crispy "haystack" fennel--an odd accompaniment to beef, I thought --and a confit of Beech Mushrooms. She approved of the buttery filet with Hunter's Sauce, but roundly condemned the mushrooms as rubbery in taste and texture and a very poor choice. It was my birthday, so I chose a complimentary candle brownie over a free glass of wine. Our server was efficient, engaging and knowledgeable; the sparkling house rose she recommended was crisp, refreshing and nicely balanced, a perfect palate cleanser. Both of my Hendrick's Gin Martinis with blue cheese olive, were dead bang--nothing better than a bartender who's not in a hurry. But the attentive bar and well assembled cellar contrasted with the negligent, in fact non-existent, refills of our water glasses. Again, it was a slow Monday night. Sub-par table bussing is a sign of something; rather than ask, I usually prefer to wait and see if someone notices, since a good table captain (if there is one) does not allow it. I didn't see a table captain, and our water glasses were still empty when we left. Should you go to The Grandview for more than just the grand view? Yes. This is one of those restaurants that is not just good enough, but good enough to not be better. The culinary world is full of them and they sadly tend to neither thrive nor survive, but this one enjoys the outsized advantage of being the big fish in a small pond...on a big, beautiful lake, in the bucolic agricultural Heartland. It has no excuse not to improve. Like a football team with on-the-cusp potential (no, I am NOT referring to either Da Bears or the Packers), and aside from a great venue, The Grandview appears to also be in need of the right coaching and the right quarterback. By my next visit, I hope it has all three.

The view of the lake from the dining room is awesome! Probably the best part of the experience. We both really enjoyed our food our food as well! I'd definitely go back for brunch and would suggest it to friends looking for somewhere to go in LG.

This restaurant is located inside The Geneva Inn hotel. Overpriced and extremely mediocre food. We got room service three times during our stay. Once for breakfast and two times for dinner. My husband ordered the pancakes for breakfast which he said were good, I didn't try them so I can't comment. I wanted to get a salad for dinner. Not to much of a selection of you want a lighter meal though. Extremely overpriced especially for the quality of food that you get. We tried Caesar salad, pear salad, beef goulash, Chilean seabass. Everything was just meh, nothing memorable. They did mess up our order once. The server also dropped the plate with the goulash on the floor right in front of our door. I will not be back and I will not recommend this place.

Used to like this place, but as many others after the pandemic the quality of food and service plummeted. Manager runs restaurant at 40 % capacity, staff looks very unhappy, food tastes frozen and reheated.

We had the Taste of Hawaii 5 course meal in a private room! The service was wonderful! Leslie, the restaurant manager, Colin our server and Dylan the head chef did a great job. The atmosphere and decor of the private room was perfect! Lights hanging from the ceiling, an Aloha sign in the window, the Hawaiian music and an amazing view of Lake Geneva set the perfect tone for the meal. Every course was delicious. The combinations of flavors and textures of each course were perfect. The cocktail paired with each course were tasty. We were just in Maui last month so had current experience to relate the food to. Definitely a must do in Lake Geneva!

The food was old, cold and covered in oil. The worst meal I have had in years. Each of the people at my table had different meals but we all agreed the food was barely edible. The view is great, the drinks were fine but can't recommend this place. Never going back.

Would not go back. We made a reservation and Ku thing available was 8pm. No one answered the phone and were advised to make the reservation through open table. We then called to see if we could get in early... no one answered. Called at 5, and they had nothing available. I figured we could check in person, and they seated us right away. Cesar salad was gross, calamari was gross. My husbands steak was not very good. Will not be going back. On the positive, wine was reasonable and good.

Came here on Easter Sunday for my son's first Easter. Ordered a Bloody Mary that was probably one of the worst presentations for a Bloody Mary. All the add ins tasted old. The meal was $40/adult. It came with two shrimp and two mussels and two tiny crab claws for the first course. Then we got enough Caesar salad for a 10 year old kid. The main course was pork tenderloin I guess at and it was dry and the brocolli and potatoes tasted like they were cooked the night before. The desert was a joke of a mix between a cheesecake and carrot cake and looked like it came out of a high school cafeteria. In summary, you can see by the pics of this basic meal that I could have gotten at a Piccadilly but paid $100 for. And if it's not obvious by now, just know that I would never come here again in my life. Ever. The people at the table next to us complained and the manager just came over and said sorry and left. Someone should fire the chef or manager or both.

Went there on a sunny Sunday morning and the view was grand as promised. The service was excellent and the atmosphere reasonably reserved. They offer a nice range of breakfast options and prices were in line with the quality of the restaurant. Food was average, but then we just had basic omelettes and pancakes. I did spot a monster breakfast sandwich of another patron that looked beyond average. Worth a visit. Enjoy the view.

We had dinner tonight for a birthday celebration. Everything was so good. Food was amazing! Views spectacular. Three people got the filet and loved it. Salmon was terrific and pork chop was amazing! Worth the price. Truly fine dining. We will be back.

Second time we have tried. Was hoping the first time was just a fluke. :(. Unfortunately, this is more of a hotel restaurant (bland menu, super expensive) instead of a destination restaurant. The pros: During the day, would be a nice view. Kind wait staff although short staffed so wait for everything was super long. The cons: Boring menu typical of a business travel hotel restaurant (calamari app, expensive steak, a pasta, a half chicken etc). Nothing was special. $48 for petit filet with sides/salad ala carte. $70 for ribeye. Food taste was just ok. Martini drinks were just so-so at$12+. $270 meal and it, sadly, was not even worth half of that. What a bummer!

Came here for our wedding anniversary and had a pleasant experience. Atmosphere was clean, not too crowded. All tables filled but they were spaced apart sufficiently and there was no shortage of wait staff (a problem in many spots 2021-2022.) Came on a Friday night and were treated to live guitarist-very cool. Had the rib-eye and the chicken. Both dishes were excellent, though a bit pricey. (Fine dining on Lake Geneva, so cost was understandable. Lower cost alternatives can be found.) Good selection of local beers, also an extensive wine list. Waitress, hostess and bartender were on top of their game. Make reservations and enjoy!

We usually stay at The Geneva Inn, so we are familiar with the restaurant here. This trip, we had 1 lunch and 2 dinners at The Grandview. On the plus side, the staff is very good. Everyone was extremely friendly and professional. And, of course, the lake view is stellar! The problem is that the food simply isn't impressive. It seems like they are attempting to be more creative and unique then their culinary skills can support. In the three meals we had, there was nothing that I would care to order again. The menu is fairly expensive, but we had nothing that was remarkable. When staying at The Geneva Inn, this restaurant is convenient, but otherwise, I wouldn't even considering coming here for a meal.

I had so much hope for a good dinner after hearing good reviews about it but now I know why they only have 3 stars (yelp is always right!). It's a super cute place nestled in the Geneva inn resort. There was absolutely no parking and we actually had to park across the street. We had reservations at 8pm on a Friday night and it got pretty crowded in there because there was a band that stayed playing at 9pm, but even before the band started the noise level was pretty loud. For starters we got a bread basket with 2 types of spread and then ordered the crab cakes that had 3 different kinds of sauce, the lemon sauce wasn't my favorite but the other 2 paired with the crab cakes was good. The crab cakes was very good and prob my fave from the night. I ordered one of their supper club meal which is a 3 course meal, I got the soup of the day (cream of chicken vegetables), it was more like a bowl instead of a cup and the flavor was lacking, I had to add salt and pepper and that made it a lil better. I ordered the seafood platter (2 shrimps, 2 pieces of local perch, and 2 scallops that came on a bed of greens with a good dipping sauce), and choice of potato which I got the whipped mashed. The scallops and shrimp was great but the perch had absolutely no flavor and I took 2 bites and that was it. My boyfriend tried it and said it tasted like "white rice", that's now bland it was! And then for the last entree was choice of apple tart or gelato and I got the apple tart and it was eh okay. My boyfriend got the 6oz filet that he wanted cooked medium that came with choice of potato and veggie which he ordered red potatoes and green beans. His steak came out medium rare and he got zucchini instead of green beans. The overall meal tasted good but again it wasn't how he wanted it cooked and he was never asked if it was cooked to his liking. Then he ordered some chocolate gelato and coffee for dessert. Our server Terri was not attentive nor friendly what so ever. She never asked us how our food tasted or if everything looked okay or cooked right! The only time she came by the table was to refill our waters, remove our plates and bring us the check.

Amazing view and great food, service left a little to be desired. I'm not sure the point of my reservation, to which I requested a high chair, when we arrived (they had the reservation) the host sat us at a table that I questioned if the hair chair would fit, to which he was unsure but it was clearly too high. Out waitress' visits were bit further apart than they should have been and after she took my payment she literally didn't return for 15 min until my husband flagged her down. I had a seafood scampi, seafood was delicious but the pasta was over cooked and gummy. My husband very much enjoyed his lobster roll and the turtle cheesecake was tasty. I think every seat in the place has a view of the water too.

This was our second time here and it did not disappoint, this time for my birthday. Kathy took great care of us again (again). We started with the baked Brie, which I was unsure of at first but it was incredible. I had the scallop Provençal and my boyfriend had the linguine and meatballs. Incredible meal, view, and experience.

If you are staying the Geneva Inn, you get a daily $15 credit to use for breakfast at this restaurant. I took advantage of this offer, but honestly, I was lured in by the spectacular views by the windows. As I was partaking my meal, I couldn't help but gaze out the window. Some days, it was gloomy, but when it was sunny, the Lake transformed into a hotspot of people enjoying the water and boaters circling around the lake. From pictures, I had a variety of breakfast and lunch items including the Geneva Breakfast, the Avocado Toast, and the Scottish Salmon. They were all delicious and well presented. I'd definitely come back here if I am in the area.

We had a great brunch here over Labor Day weekend. We were a bit early for our reservation and this, had to wait a few minutes, but in the end, we were rewarded with a nice table by the window. Service was very friendly and didn't rush us at all. We picked some great items and the food came in a reasonable amount of time. This is definitely a spot where you don't really want your food to come early because of the nice view! This is a spot to linger. The food was delicious. I had the special which involved Nutella, which is never a bad thing. All in all, it was a bit expensive, but that's what I expected. Definitely a nice spot for a special occasion or if you want a nice, relaxing meal. Great service, it's a bit fancy, but don't feel like you must wear a sport coat to brunch!

We sat right by the window looking Geneva Lake. Geneva Lake in Wisconsin. Friendly service. Good food. Can order breakfast at the lunch time. Reasonable price. Beautiful view....

30 year business traveler. Went to the nicest restaurant in town with my wife. Ordered cioppino for $38. Menu says it's a fan favorite. So... no bread at the table, seems they were just prepping it. Meal comes and is three shrimp, a tablespoon of fish and a can of stewed tomatoes. Not even close to menu description. Was finished with edible part of meal in three minutes.Would have probably eaten more stewed tomatoes if I had a spoon. Would have asked for a spoon if waiter existed . Actually spoke to the manager (1st time in 15 years) who literally could not care less. So bad all around we laughed. Gave ample gentle input for either waiter or manager to make right. Just don't go.

We made two reservations, this past Tuesday evening and, again on Thursday evening due to the excellent meals and service we had in 2021 when visiting Lake Geneva, WI. Luckily, my wife was enthusiastic about her meals both nights. On Tuesday I had ordered red snapper but asked for regular butter sauce rather than the Cajun butter sauce offered. I had to send back the meal after it was delivered with the very hot cajun glaze. I made my wife eat her dinner while it was hot rather than wait for my meal to be replaced. On Thursday I ordered Weiner Schnitzel which arrived with burned edges, something I have never experienced. I took a cut from inside the burn only to discover that the chef had put the worst side down and the bottom was burned almost a full inch in all the way around the large piece of veal. My wife's filet mignon Oscar style was cooked to perfection and I decided to eat with her rather than send the meal back again when the waitress asked if everything was okay. She had not served the meal. I am not sure why the chef thought it was okay to serve a burned piece of schnitzel. If I were give two ratings, my wife's meals would get 6 stars and mine just one.

My husband and I came here for 1st wedding anniversary dinner. The food was great, small portions. Our waitress was great, the ambiance was wonderful. The restaurant was not busy on a Sunday evening around 8pm. The view from the restaurant is great, out back is a very romantic fire pit. We might have to stay here the next time we are in town. We also were give the choice of complimentary champagne or desserts, we chose the champagne.

Beautiful view. Lovely setting. Crab gazpacho was so fishy tasting I didn't think it was safe to eat. Essentially very chunk salsa with crab that was past its prime. Steak was good. Prices were very high for the quality of the food. Wouldn't be my first choice in the future

The name Grandview Restaurant says it all. The view was spectacular with the lake frozen and snow covered to the east while there was open water toward the west - just a magical picture. We loved the brunch options. Some of us enjoyed a "second breakfast" while others were ready for the afternoon by jumping into lunch menu items! The service wasn't up to par with what would be expected for this restaurant as we had to ask several times for a couple of items.

WARNING - This hotel is very nice, but don't go to the GRANDVIEW RESTAURANT! We've been to the Geneva Inn numerous times and have always enjoyed it, but this time we came solely for the Grandview Restaurant Easter Brunch. Our day was to be perfect - we were flying into Chicago from Florida, picking up my husband's 105 year old mother just NW of Chicago, and taking her on a beautiful country drive for a lovely Easter Brunch on Lake Geneva. Due to mom's age and the traveling we needed to do, we called a month early to make our reservation. At that time, we explained to the hostess on the phone that we were driving in from Chicago with our elderly mother and asked to reserve a window table. She explained they couldn't guarantee a window seat but that the dining area was tiered, and therefore, everyone would have a beautiful lake view. Having been here before, we knew this to be true and understood it was a holiday, so we made the reservation without the guarantee of a window table. On Easter day we arrived early but had to wait awhile to be seated. When the hostess walked us to the back of the restaurant into a small conference room with two windows facing the parking lot, we immediately went to the desk to explain that there was a mistake. She replied that it was the best they could do. We again explained that this was not what they had guaranteed and now because of our seating, my 105 year old mother would have difficulty walking to the front area and waiting in a long line to get her food. This is where I received the message loud and clear that they didn't care - take it or leave. At this moment, we knew we couldn't drive mom around Lake Geneva looking for someplace else to eat on Easter Sunday so we decided we had no choice but to stay. As we waited for our waitress, we had the opportunity to speak with other's who were placed in the back room who also didn't get the lake view they were promised. It was now apparent that management clearly decided to take more than they had space for, and threw the overflow into the back conference room. To make matters even worse, once we were finally told we could go to the buffet and helped our mom get there, we found that the food looked horrible! After we picked through our plates, my husband excused himself to once again try to talk with the manager. He asked that they at least make some type of compensation for their error but as before, she said she would do nothing and then looked him straight in the face and said that this was our fault. She continued with a lie claiming she left multiple messages on our phone in regards to the seating arrangements. She stated that we didn't call back and that's why we got put in the back room. This was unbelievable to hear! After all the measures we took to make sure our travels from Florida to spend Easter with our mom went smoothly - how could she blame us? Of course we would've returned a message especially when, as she claims, left multiple ones! This was an outright lie and honestly the worst customer service we have ever had from an upscale venue like the Geneva Inn. From a promised lake view, to being put in a back room looking at a parking lot, less than par food, callous customer service, and the manager lying about leaving multiple messages (side note - everyone else in the back room never got a message either) - We Were Mad! This was completely unacceptable and now want to send our message loud and clear - DO NOT SUPPORT THE GRANDVIEW RESTAURANT! The management staff just doesn't care...
