I came here on a Patriots football Sunday. It was a nice day and there were people starting to fill up the inside and outside spaces. This place is huge! There is a good combination of low table seating, high-top tables, and standing room. I wish the low-top tables were narrower, if you're sitting across from someone, you can't actually hear them talking, so you have to sit side by side.
We had a pepperoni pizza and the buffalo wings. I didn't try the wings because I was full, but my friend really liked them. The pizza was tasty. You have to order with the QR code via Toast and they tell you when to pick up the food at a counter.
I'm not a huge beer person, so I tried some wine and had a couple of mimosas. I looked at the website before going and it says they have a full bar, but it doesn't seem like they know how to make drinks. One bartender even said that they shouldn't be making mimosas because they aren't on the menu (the cocktail menu has 6 drinks only), but other bartenders were making them for me (one, with ice - yikes). So, I'm confused, if they have a full bar (which they do have things like rye, Aperol, etc), are they not allowed to serve certain drinks? My friend got a Jack and coke (2 ingredient drink that's not on the menu), but one bartender didn't want to make a mimosa (2 ingredient drink that's not on the menu). I know this place just opened, but you have to make up your mind. Either carry spirts and teach your bartenders how to mix drinks, or just be a beer and wine bar.
The other thing they should get a hold of quickly is the sound system. At first, they were playing music (at varying levels), and then they finally switched on the sound for the Pats game, to the cheers of patrons. What they should learn to do (that many sports bars have perfected), is have the sound on for the game and switch to music during the commercials. Yes, that means someone who works there has to be paying attention, but if you can hire security to be there at 12 Noon on a Sunday, you can probably give someone the task of the sound system during peak games (Pats, Sox, Celtics, Bruins, speciality games/fights).
These tips are because I want this place to succeed. This could easily be changed to a 4 or 5 star review if they make some minor changes. Again, it's a newer spot, so I hope they continue to learn and grow over time. I'd be happy to check it out again.
