"This Conshohocken bar institution is known for its generous beer pours and iconic Eagles mascot statue atop its rooftop that’s become an instant crowdpleaser. With spacious scenery and lots of greenery, this is what true outdoor happy hours should look like." - Ernest Owens, Eater Staff

First time here, wanted somewhere to chill, have a drink & read a book. This was the perfect spot on this beautiful Monday evening. I do wish the tvs were not as loud considering it was only me and 2 other people on the roof. The chicken sliders were meh, very filling but definitely cheap tasting. My “ghosted” margarita was pretty excellent.

Our group of 4 dined outside to celebrate Father's Day. The outdoor seating in front was nicely spread out. The food was pretty good and the prices standard. Our group had tacos, salad, a reuben and a crab cake melt. The service was pretty slow and distracted. We had to flag our server down at several points. There is onsite free parking.

Google
Great job to The Great American Pub and their staff for hosting the site for our Harritin reunion! The food was great and the room was just fantastic with the holiday cheer to make it a perfect celebration! Great job!!! Already looking forward to our next reunion at your pub!!

My business partner and I curate fun and educational experiences for young adults with disabilities in the community. Geri and Chuckie at the Great American Pub were fantastic to work with and created such a memorable experience for our individuals! They hosted a pizza making workshop for our clients and we cannot be more grateful for their generosity and kind heartedness! We will definitely be back again!

Google
Rooftop bar is beautiful! The sky kitchen menu is very small, both for food and drinks. They also need at least one very large outdoor fan in the summer...the humidity up there was bad. It's going to be a nice spot to hang out at in the fall though.

Jim “The Cheesesteak Guy” Pappas

Google
Big beautiful place. Good roll, it had a glaze on it and not your traditional crust. Good amount and mix of everything except the cheese. The cheese needed to be melted onto everything better. Better cheese melt and this is a top tier cheesesteak especially at a nice place and only $9

I eat at the Great American Pub frequently for business lunch meetings. It is mine and my colleagues go to restaurant. Service is always top of the line and the staff very friendly.

Went there with a meet up group for the weekly Wednesday Trivia night conducted by the Pub. Wonderful time and I enjoyed the experience. They recently changed there menu and I tried their Seafood Gumbo and Chicken Saltimbocca. The jumbo was solid and I loved the sauce, seasoning and asparagus of the chicken dish. Chicken was slightly dry, but the sauce more than made up for it.

Yelp
I held my daughter's rehearsal dinner here this past weekend. I could not say enough how happy I was. First dealing with Geri was such a pleasure. She was extremely helpful. Especially being that we were coming from Long Island New York. The food was delicious the service was great and my guests raved about it. Thank you so much. Marylyn

Yelp
Basic pub food Nothing over the top Bartender was great, very social and quick on refills! Didnt think it was thw cleanest establishment , definitely shows its age .

Carlita G.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of visiting GAP a few weeks ago on a Saturday. I was skeptical about the atmosphere but I have to say I was 70% pleased with the establishment. The 30% of dissatisfaction comes from the bartenders who are selective and rude , (don't know if they purposely ignore AA patrons to wait on CC ppl 1st, but that definitely happened several times that night) the music was great , DJ Smoove had video lined up with his mic and the security was pleasantly helpful and friendly. Felt very safe in the club. Would return for the fun atmosphere professional security and the great DJ . The Bartenders need customer service classes.

Yelp
I come here fairly often to see the radio show on Monday that happens here. So I've had several things on the menu. Generally I like the food. Tonight I had lemon pepper wings and buffalo fried cauliflower that both hit the mark really well. In the past I've had the pizza, turkey sandwich, hot dog, and those have been decent. It's not always the best, often it's just good enough. I'd say I tend to like the pizza the most. They have a decent selection there. Service has always been excellent. The atmosphere is a pretty good pub style place. It doesn't wow me. But it doesn't have to. Sometimes good enough is good enough.

Ian K.

Yelp
Came back to the GAP for a quick Friday dinner. Sat inside on the lower level. It's your normal pub. Sticky tables, okay cocktail menu, and good food selection. What we snagged: -Cheesesteak egg rolls. Always good. Can't go wrong with these guys. -Prime Rib special. Not good. Flavorless, and dry. Overheard it was the "last prime rib." Thinking I got lucky, maybe not. Maybe it was old meat. Who knows. -Brisket Tacos. Plentiful and good tasting-ish. Again, lacked flavor. Server was nice. Nothing wrong there. Just a place where maybe it was an off day? Would stick to the appetizers.

Michelle D.

Yelp
I love when I can find good vegan options and my carnivore husband can have his meat. I had the vegan mac n cheese and it was delicious. My husband had the Ruben and liked it as well. The fries were great. Bonus - they had Downeast Cider on tap!

Taylor D.

Yelp
Roof top bar is very nice and provides a beautiful view. However, the food was just OK and the service was terrible. There were two bartenders, and one did nothing, the other one was working hard but could not keep up with it. i would go back but only for drinks, and i would be hopeful that the service would be better.

Yelp
Came here with friends and it's a solid 3 1/2 stars (when will Yelp implement a 1/2 star system?). But I rounded down as Great American Pub was nothing extraordinary to write about. After my friends and I squeezed through the very long gauntlet of 20-something's at the bar area, we were seated quickly for dinner. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Two beers and an ok margarita along with some fried pickles got us started. The fried pickles came with bleu cheese and I think a cocktail sauce that was spicy. They were fried nicely and not too flimsy. I ended up eating most of those. For our mains, my one friend went with chili fries, other friend had a Cobb burger, and I went with mushroom and Swiss burger. My burger came out medium well instead of rare, but was a good size with enough cheese and mushrooms to make it a mouthful. The homemade chips were too salty for me. The spread that came with the burger I did not like at all. My friend's burger came with guacamole which she really liked and said she'd have to remember for next time. It was to her temperature liking and her chips were good, too. My other friend inhaled his fully covered chili fries so you know he enjoyed them. We each got another drink but this time I went with a blended cider which had the consistency of a thick, cannot see through, apple juice. Tasty, but would have liked more cinnamon flavor in it. Friends had more beers. As we left, I realized this facility is much larger than I would have expected. There's an upstairs and I'm told a roof deck. I could see this in the really nice weather being a pretty cool place to hang with your buds. About $100 not including tip for two appetizers, two entrees, four beers and two drinks. A fun time for all.

Yelp
Had another enjoyable experience here tonight! I don't understand some of the negative reviews. We were seated promptly and our server greeted us right away and took our drink order. She was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. All four of us enjoyed our meals. The food was fresh, delicious and plentiful. We each left with "tomorrow's lunch". Background music was upbeat and not too loud. The restrooms were clean. A great choice!

Orrin E.

Yelp
I won't even lie we didn't have great expectations of bar food, it was a long day and we were hungry but the chicken fingers with honey mustard were on point and the pesto, roasted red pepper, mozzarella sandwich with the turkey burger swapped out with a chicken breast was very good. It feels like a local favorite. The Phillies and 76'ers were playing so there was a great energy. Plenty of tv screens and seating. I didn't see any pizzas come out but the pizza oven looked adequate- I'd return again and try a few other dishes.

Yelp
LUKE. THE MUSIC. THE VIBES. I am going to shout out Luke first because he was thee bomb.com! It was busy on a Friday night, but Luke was on point. Luke was attentive, quick, and hardworking. I was surprised when Luke told us that it was only his third day there because wow! Since this pub is in Conshohocken and it wasn't too diverse, I was surprised by the music. The rooftop played amazing rap/r&b oldies and hits from today. I was shocked when I heard it, but I was so happy! It made the night a lot more fun! Parking was easy because we were able to park in the public parking garage and walk up. To be honest, we had no idea what door to walk into, but we finally made it lol. My friend and I got there at the right time for a Friday (6:00) because when we left, people had to wait in order to get up on the rooftop. It's also awesome that they had a few vegan options! My friend ordered wings and he said they were okay. I had fish tacos and they were delicious!

Kevin R.

Yelp
Went there with friends to celebrate their anniversary. Although parking was tough, found a spot a few blocks away. Appetizers were huge and shareable Main courses were delicious and warm No room for desserts Overall I would recommend

Lacey G.

Yelp
The service is absolutely horrendous and food not far behind. Empty water the entire meal. Left the menus on our already small and cramped table for half the meal. My bf ordered seafood gumbo. There was not one trace of seafood to be found. Zero attention to detail. I ordered one dressing but got another. And the best part was my bf ordered chicken noodle soup as well, neither the gumbo/chicken noodle came with a spoon. Never again.

Alise R.

Yelp
We rode our bikes here and wanted to sit outside to get lunch. Easy bike parking on the corner. We asked to sit outside and the hostess told us we should go sit on the roof deck. Deck was great!! Wonderful views and much hotter than down below. Menu was very limited - we planned to get burgers or sandwiches. We didn't know until we went downstairs after eating and saw other people w burgers that the menu wasn't the same on the deck as the rest of the restaurant - so it would have been nice if they told us that before we sat down. We got brisket nachos which were good, cheese steak egg rolls which I also liked, and brussell sprouts which were not good.

Douglas B.

Yelp
Ok here's the deal. If you want the best gluten free burger ever, this is the place. It's amazing how few restaurants actually have gluten free items. If your a restaurant owner please consider giving gluten free people at least some gluten free crackers it I order a $15 appetizer. Offering carrots and celery is lame when ordering charcuterie

Geralyn N.

Yelp
We had our son and future daughter-in-laws rehearsal dinner on the second floor. I had never been to the establishment prior to our event. I planned everything the whole way across the country. Everything was absolutely perfect. Everyone raved about the food. We had over 100 people and did an appetizer and drinks event. It truly exceeded our expectations. The staff was excellent to work with and made our evening so special

Michael D.

Yelp
Food is consistent. The service is friendly and attentive. I recommend this place to maybe.

Jacqueline H.

Yelp
My husband comes to the Great American Pub with work colleagues often to sit on the Rooftop bar. He wanted me to take me here since he raves about this place. We looked on the website & the rooftop bar hours stated it opened at 4 pm on Fridays & is first come first serve & there was a rooftop bar menu. When we got to the restaurant, we were told the rooftop bar does not open until 5 pm, so we decided to grab a drink at the bar. The bartender was awesome, I wish I got her name. We headed up to the rooftop at 4:55 pm. We sat down, ordered drinks, then come to find out they are not serving food on the rooftop. This was disappointing & we were so hungry at that point, so we grabbed our drinks and headed back downstairs. We decided to be seated outside. Our server was very sweet & pleasant. We ordered the cheesesteak spring rolls, Bavarian pretzel, Bubba Burger, and the brisket tacos. I thought the food was really good, but found it odd that the Bubba burger at $14.50 only came with lettuce instead of lettuce, tomato, and onion. I don't know if tomato & onion were an up charge so I declined to have them added on. The burger comes with only a small amount of chips instead of fries. We didn't get dessert since we were very full. I think next time we go back we would like to try the rooftop bar when they serve food again.

Max B.

Yelp
I'm told the burgers and other basic pub food are pretty good here. The pasta is decidedly meh. Overcooked and not very well flavored on the alfredo. Pleasant environment with several different levels.

Kelly L.

Yelp
First time out at a restaurant since the beginning of Covid. Food is average but well priced. Overall I think the shiner here is the rooftop bar and the drinks. They have a rotating tap as well as a lot of creative cocktails. For food, I got the fish tacos and split an order of the shaved brussel sprouts. My friends got the cheese burger, pork tacos, and the impossible tacos. Fish can go either way, but in this case it was passable. It came with a side of chips and salsa and sour cream. The shaved brussel sprouts were pretty good sautéed with sweet chili sauce. We got a lot of beers. Standouts were the victory mango ipa and dogfish seaquench. The rooftop bar had all the tables far apart. Lots of hand sanitizer everywhere. It was super cute up there.

Tito K.

Yelp
Many times I agree with the overall stars. With this restaurant, I am fairly far apart. We came here before playing in the FC Delco Soccer tournament and I am throwing the pub 5 stars. The atmosphere is phenomenal, really captured the old pub feel. The staff was also attentive. The five stars comes from the sandwich that I had. The salmon cheese steak may have been one of the best sandwiches that I have had. My wife had a Philly cheese steak, which was good, but the salmon one was fantastic!!! I would go to this establishment again just to get this sandwich.

John Z.

Yelp
The guy at the elevator told me I had to pay to go up to the elevator when it's know you don't have a requirement to pay. I watched my gf go in the elevator then he grilled me for money to go upstairs. Forward me to pay 20 dollars or he would kick me out. Never comer here again fucking assholes

Sierra Q.

Yelp
I've been here a few times for dinner, a few times for lunch and I think two times on a night out. I really have no complaints, except a lot of people in my circle refuse to come here. Not sure what that is about. Food isn't bad, drinks aren't bad. We were here for dinner last week and we had a reservation and had a little bit of a wait but I think that's because there was a surprise 40th birthday in the main room so seating was limited. In the meantime we just sat at the bar and had a few drinks while we waited. Service has always been good. In the summer sitting on the roof is cool too.

Zanna H.

Yelp
Attended an industry holiday party here the other night and all of the staff were great. Our bartender was doing a great job keeping up with the steady crowd especially since she was the only one. Only issue staff wise was they were not doing a great job of policing who came up to the upstairs reserved area and so we had drunk party crashers coming up and mooching but otherwise really nice event and space. Food was average for a bar. Nothing great but nothing terrible either, just your typical items of mozzarella sticks, wings, chicken tenders and other items of that type that were from the freezer.

Lauren S.

Yelp
We haven't been here in years because it's like a high school reunion every time coming here and there wasn't anything really special with the food or drinks. However, my friend decided to celebrate her birthday here and I wanted to checkout the rooftop bar, so we gave it another shot. The rooftop bar is really nice. I liked the couches and lounge chairs and the view was really cool. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I like that they offered some different types of mixed drinks. Unfortunately a couple of my drinks tasted watered down and more like club soda than anything, and they were pricey. There wasn't even supposed to be any club soda in the drink according to the menu, it was supposed to be lemon lime soda. Maybe it was either flat or they ran out and did use club soda. My last drink, the blueberry margarita was pretty decent though. We ordered some food. Everything was basically appetizers/small plates on the rooftop. $14 for 3 tacos, and I think $9 for 3 cheesesteak spring rolls. They cut the spring rolls in half to make it 6 half's to look like there was more there. They were good but too pricey. We did have a fun night and I liked the rooftop atmosphere. I would like to see it at night in the dark with the string lights. If we come back we would probably hang out at the bar and stick to beer.

Jeff C.

Yelp
They appear to be confused as to what their menu items are. First, I ordered seafood gumbo and got chili. The waitress went back to check and sure enough, they said it was gumbo, while I held up a large chunk of meat to prove my point. Next, after she removed that, I ordered their Neapolitan pizza. Not quite. A thin, soft, bagel-like chewy crust. Finally, my wife's creme brulee turned out to be cheesecake. A Pretty disappointing meal.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
A solid standard bar spot. I've been here quite a bit as I work in the area for lunch, dinner, happy hours and it's nothing special, but I definitely find myself always coming back LOL. The food is good. Nothing to really write home about, but tasty and reasonably priced. It's just standard. I've had probably every appetizer on the menu from just being here for a lot of work HH's and I like the cheese board up on the roof top, the cheese steak egg rolls, and the chicken fingers. I will say one thing that I do not recommend and that is the ahi tuna crispy salad. It was kind of gross, but you probably shouldn't order ahi tuna at a pub, LOL. I probably would have given 3 stars if it weren't for the amazing roof top here. You do not feel like you're in Conshy. It's honestly lux as heck. I love it up there. When the weather is great and the sun is setting! I highly recommend!!! They have a limited menu, but you can still pretty much get anything you want. LOVE it. It opens at 5. I was just there last Thursday (early October) and it was still open, but I don't know when it closes for the season, so get there asap.

Tiffany J.

Yelp
Tonight I saw the bouncers and Angela do an amazing job with a female that passed out. They were extremely observant and took control. Working in the medical field I truly appreciate the time they took to make sure the lady was ok and call first responders. Great staff.

Francis S.

Yelp
One of the salads came with only two pieces of shrimp on top, and it didn't even have dressing on it. Waiter didn't return back in a reasonable timeframe to even request a side of dressing. The Buffalo chicken spring rolls were about the size of tootsie rolls. The inside wasn't even Buffalo chicken. It was more so chicken and cheese and it came with a side of hot sauce and blue cheese. Teeny tiny little guys. Caesar salad was 10/10. Charcuterie board hardly had any cheese on it. Chicken tenders were okay. Cubano had no mustard on it. Roast pork sandwich was not good. Service was terrible. Waiter highly inattentive and we constantly asked for things that never were brought to the table or got to us very late/delayed. Would not eat here again, but a good place for a group to drink and maybe get some French fries if you're starving. At least insomnia cookies is close by.

Luke D.

Yelp
There's nothing quite like the Great American Pub of Conshohocken. It's timeless decorations and ornaments feel like you're stepping back in time to the golden ages. It's friendly staff will remember your name and treat you like family. And the rooftop bar just sends it over the top! Nothing beats the experience at The Great American Pub.

Marsha L.

Yelp
Overpriced drinks, nice atmosphere on the rooftop. Number one concern is the amount of plastic waste. Every drink served in single use plastic. Won't return because of this.

Ali B.

Yelp
Terrible food & service. I'd give it a 3/10. Food was dry, service was very very slow.My advice- if you're running behind or slow- please communicate with your customers. I'm all about communication- but if you disappear for about 30-40 minutes, it's just ridiculous. Rooftop bar was alright.

Fredo B.

Yelp
Avoid at all cost. Overpriced average food. Expensive drinks. The staff is always miserable. Not a good sign when the servers are arguing 20 feet away.

Matt S.

Yelp
How many times have I been here? I have no idea... How many times have I actually wanted to come here? Once? Food is alright. Beers are decent... Crowds are horrible. I just don't think there is anything special about this place to make me want to come here. People from the area have bridal showers, baby showers, shower showers here and I've drank at the bar. Surprisingly, those are my favorite memories about this place... I still know too many people who want to go here, because it's the place to go. Not because it's good... A lot of weird split levels to this place, which makes it tough to find people too. You should go though. That way I can be somewhere else with less crowds...

James M.

Yelp
Food and drink portions were very small for what they cost. We were only there for 1.5 hrs and the waiter said we needed to leave because the table had to be given to other people. We had a large party and we ordered appetizers and drinks but once we stopped spending money they kicked us out. You can tell the management is very cheap and money hungry

Megan B.

Yelp
We've been coming here for years - almost 12 and it's really gone down hill last year or so. Last night the pizzas took over 30 mins. 40 min for food to arrive. The mixed drinks are small water downed. Their espresso martini they are advertising is horrible. $16 for water down Dr Pepper is what it tasted like. The description on the menu doesn't match what they posted on social media. The palm salad had a whomping 2 shrimp on it. Manhattan drink didn't come with the standard cherry. This was the last straw. Would not recommend.

Will N.

Yelp
Food is terrible, I think the only reason people go here is out of convenience. Have lived here for years and the only time we go is if we want to sit on the rooftop for a beer in the summer. Menu needs a total revamp with fresh, quality food. The downstairs area inside is dark, sticky and uninviting.

Chris C.

Yelp
Stopped by for a nice lunch on a sunny June day. They have nice outdoor seating, but I was in business attire and it was too hot for me! Looked like a great old school philly kind of place. Great service and pub menu!

Guto V.

Yelp
Nice rooftop environment, good music and view. They could have more options at the tap. Food depends, fries were good but tacos tasteless.

Jenny G.

Yelp
Who is giving this place 3 stars??! Felt very safe, outdoor spread out seating. Food is so freaking good. Beers are cold. Ordered wings, beer & a burger - a small side of fries though the chips that come with the burger are delicious. Hope they keep outdoors open as long as they can. A great treat to feel a bit of normalcy while supporting local business.

Ritesh S.

Yelp
Meh. Typical bar food. This place has a lot of charm and it's on the same street with a lot of the other action in the area. There is also decent street parking on the side streets. Unfortunately, the experience is not worth it if you're coming from the city (like myself.) We were seated in the upstairs "banquet" area. The food was served buffet style - with almost every dish having some meat accompaniment. I stuck with what I knew would be veggie - a pasta dish, and the veggies. The food was alright, I did have to add some chili flakes for flavor, but other that than, the food wasn't anything I hadn't had before. The employees were really nice (except for this one older woman in the main dining space; she was some sort of greeter/hostess person but I think she was on a power trip, so made things a bit uncomfortable when walking around.) In any case - probably not coming back as it was mostly forgettable.

Tasha A.

Yelp
Such a terrible DJ. It was my birthday and my entire party asked him to play a particular song and he refused. WILL NEVER RETURN SADLY. Thanks for making my friend cry and ruining my birthday to the AWFUL DJ! I worked in the biz for years and never experienced such an arrogant jerk. No thanks

Joey W.

Yelp
Went to the Great American Pub Tonight with some friends to watch the Eagles game, enjoy some drinks, and eat some food. Sat on the rooftop and what an atmosphere it was up there. We got blessed with a nice, warm fall night. Sadly I don't think there will be too many more of these... Plenty of seating it looked like throughout the restaurant - inside, outside, rooftop. Don't worry everyone followed the COVID procedures from the looks of it. Food was great. I got a chicken Caesar salad and chicken quesidillas which hit the spot. My friends and I split two buckets of miller lites. It was a great night to watch the Eagles and enjoy each other's company. The service was good and the waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. Would definitely go again and recommend to friends. Cheers!

Justin D.

Yelp
Grabbed a quick lunch here - and it was average. I got the bbq grilled chicken sandwich. I wasn't a fan of their bbq sauce, and it was a little sloppy. Though I will say, the server was super peppy and friendly, and the food came out very quickly.

Joseph A.

Yelp
Nasty nasty nasty, both the restaurant itself and the food. No soap in men's room, filthy and outdated menus three months out of date. Will not be going back.

Drew P.

Yelp
This fucking pub sucks fucking dog shit I went tonight the lights were on, the heat was on full blast and they kicked us out at 1:20 AM. I asked the bouncer why are you kicking everyone out like what's going on he told me it's because they're closed and i was like oh okay and he laughed in my face like i was some fucking dumb ass. you guys fucking close at 2 am why the fuck am I being laughed at like that. but overall this place sucks it's a fucking scam for ur money all drinks are fucking over priced

David G.

Yelp
Have not been a fan of the so called "Great" American pub for a while now. Have called a few times in the past about general questions and the most recent time either the manager or someone a waiter (Frankly I don't care who) hung up the phone on me after I asked a question about when the rooftop would open up in the spring. He must've been as pissed about it not being open when it was 70+ degrees as I was. Before and during covid, the food is avg at best compared to the other competition in town, and the cocktails served have been well below that and it stinks because they are the only rooftop spot in town. If there was another spot that did, you'd hardly ever see me here again.

Anna D.

Yelp
We are a family of 4 and popped into Conshohocken on a whim. Walked around and were charmed by their carriage booths. Beware, it's hard to find the entrance. There are at least 1/2 dozen doors and small sign indicating which one to use. Everything was slow about the place. It took a while for the hostess to come. Once we were seated, it took a while to see our waiter, the food took forever and we made the mistake of ordering dessert which took so long to arrive that none of us wanted it. The food was fantastic. I had the crabcakes, my husband had chicken and waffles, the boys had linguini and brisket tacos. We were all hungry and the food was spot on. We finished every bite of our plates. Our waiter told us they had a problem with the kitchen earlier in the day so the menu was slightly limited. Maybe that was why it was that SLOW. This would have been a 5review if not for the wait.

Jasmine M.

Yelp
Love the roof top patio. The shade covers and not only beautiful but so helpful on a hot day. I wish the menu upstairs was better or the same as down stairs but over all not a bad experience.

Domenic M.

Yelp
I went there for a party Saturday night. My good friend paid a bunch of money to have it catered by them. The food was great! Downstairs was so much fun! Until we decide that we wanted to go up to the rooftop and it all went downhill. Just going to the elevator to go to the rooftop the security guard who I believe is known as T.O. was so rude. Not even just to us. It seemed like he was rude to everyone including just someone in the bar who was looking for an exit. The door was right there with an exit on the top of the door and couldn't even tell this guy where to exit just said where are you going and this isn't it. He was rude to us and everyone around us and it was before 10pm. I work in the restaurant business and I'm 32. He was acting like we're all rowdy 23 year olds. We're there to have a fun time. When I entered completely sober he was even rude. If Great American Pub doesn't want the over 25 club that's fine. And if your over 25 it's just not worth going there....
