This was my first visit to The Greek Joint. I turned to Yelp, of course, when the restaurant one street over was completely booked. I love Greek food, so It was worth a try! The staff was friendly and very attentive, from the first moment until the end.
The food was very good, and the prices on par with other restaurants in the area, but maybe slightly higher than expected compared to other Greek restaurants. The dip Platter was a great starter, I loved the spicy fetta spread the best. The stuffed grape leaves were really good, but not what we were expecting. They were warm with a combination of rice and meat, topped with a creamy lemon sauce. My husband had the gyro, sorry he didn't let me get a pic before he tore into it. It was filled with meat, tomatoes, onion, and a healthy serving of tzatziki. His fries were thick and crispy; it also came with a small side salad.
I chose 2 separate items rather than an entree. The Spanokopita was tasty with the flaky filo and plenty of spinach filling. My salad was huge, but not what I expected, as there was not your typical lettuce base, which is what I was looking for. It was good, but again, not as expected. I think more details on the menu would be helpful, especially for items that may be different from the norm. We skipped dessert as the items listed weren't typical Greek desserts, which was a bit disappointing, but we were full anyway. I would definitely return though, especially for a casual lunch.
