This place is on the ground level below the Multnoma Whiskey Library, and where you can dine and drink if you're unable to book a reservation upstairs (membership required). The decor is nicely green and there's a decent selection of libations along the wall. The bartender received compliments from other diners, and I thought the drinks were decent as well. For being attached to the exclusive establishment upstairs, the service and food fell short of the hype and expectations. The first server who took our order forgot to ask basic questions like how we'd prefer the steak prepared, and the appetizer and entree were served all at once without spacing them out. Then we never saw him again and someone else took over. Both dishes were missing an ingredient from the menu description, with no explanation of why. Deviled eggs tasted ok - it was a unique combination of flavors, but the texture of the egg white was rubbery. The garlic marrow butter on the steak had awesome flavor, while the beef was rather tough for a NY Strip. The 'chocolate whiskey cake' was very good for a chocolate cake, but didn't have any whiskey flavor. This seems to be a good place to hang out if you're waiting for a table upstairs to be ready, but not so impressive as a standalone restaurant. Since they share the same menu, perhaps the primary allure is just the alcohol.
