The 35 Best Restaurants in Barcelona

"Billed as the vegetarian restaurant that is “veggie for non-veggies,” the Green Spot does indeed manage to please vegetarians and carnivores alike—ideal if you’ve tucked into a few too many plates of fried croquettes and calamari while in town. The menu showcases hearty comfort foods, like fried cauliflower with mint and tamarind sauce and four-cheese pizza with zucchini flowers, but also lighter, healthier options, like grilled vegetable salads. If you have a beard or a full tattoo sleeve, you’ll fit right in with the young, trendy, beach-bound crowd." - Isabelle Kliger, Gemma Askham

Google
The food was so phenomenal, it even surpised my non-vegetarian friends. The menu is a bit of a hodgepodge and mixes several different cuisines but all the dishes we had were good to amazing. My personal highlight was the Black Vegan Pizza, which re-defined my expectations for vegan pizzas. The interior was also just so beautiful and sleek.

Google
I was very excited on the way here, as on paper the menu looks very interesting. However, when the food came it was generally overly salty. The sweet potato “tagliatelle” felt more like a salad than a pasta dish because the shredded sweet potato is not as calorie rich as real pasta. The gluten free, vegan pizza was better, but along with the rice noodle wok dish rather salty. Chocolate cake was a bit soft and very sweet, the pistachio ice cream that comes with it was good. It was interesting to try but I wouldn’t come back. Service was excellent, and the venue is very nicely done, hence still 4* overall.

Google
We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding-very delicious and flavorful. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable. We highly recommend this place to everyone!

Roberto Alonzo

Google
Really great vegetarian place with nice ambiance and very chill vibe. The cauliflower was really good but the best dish I tried was the mushroom katsu sando (so good I forgot the pic). Amazingly balanced dish.

Aakrati Kinger

Google
I got cava sangria, black pizza, and gyoza. Drink was good, gyoza was well made and had good proportion of texture but was salty for me. Black pizza was a big disappointment- vegetables were undercooked, crust won’t hold up and was very soggy, cheese was super chewy. It is very expensive as the place has amazing vibe and decor and are charging too much for the taste of the food

Anisha Jhalani

Google
Pizza was great and the food looked fancy and well-presented, but the flavors were lacking - mainly just a lot of cheese. However, the ambiance, atmosphere, and setup were excellent.

Google
We went for dinner and it was the most romantic dinners we’ve had in Barcelona! The decor is beautiful, the food is delicious, the muted lighting is perfect! Be aware that the sweet potato pasta is not actually pasta but grated sweet potato!

Google
The best meal that we had in Barcelona. You can tell that everything is well thought out from the open kitchen, decor, plating of the food, etc.. Loved it all!

Yelp
The Green Spot has a cozy living room vibe with fun couches, table lamps, and dim lighting. I've been here 2 times and it's been delicious both times. Black pizza - unique, cheesy, delicious Sweet potato tagliatelle - the macadamia sauce really makes this creamy and luxurious Pea tagaloni - tangy, light and fresh Kale & Quinoa salad - different, slightly to salty, but unique flavors, works really well together

Yelp
What a beautiful restaurant, definitely a must of you like to admire good architecture and interior design. The food was actually quite good and great break from all the meat and heavy foods we ate on our trip to Barcelona. They are also kid friendly and we're very understanding of how my toddler needed to move around the restaurant. Such a great spot if you are vegetarian or want to eat more veggies during your trip.

Yelp
Our last meal in Barcelona was unfortunately our most disappointing. The appetizers were pretty good, but the entrees fell short. We were expecting better, since the place is gorgeously designed, but we left unhappy. Apps: wasabi croquettes and eggplant with pomegranates were interesting to try. I wouldn't call them delicious, but they were unique dishes. Entrees: I got the pumpkin pizza and husband got the fish dish. His was insultingly small for the price. Mine was mainly bread with a bit of pumpkin thrown on. I don't know, it could have been better. It felt like a slap in the face that these were our entrees. Drinks: I got one of their juices, which I learned later on that it was not pasteurized. My husband said his cocktail (the beet one) was too sweet and just tasted like eating a beet. Service started out okay but then disappeared. Overall, did not leave us with a good impression. That's the last time I give a vegan-loved restaurant a shot...

Yelp
The Green Spot is a SUPERB restaurant for delicious and healthy dishes! It's relaxing, comfortable seating, fantastic vegan dishes with imaginative combinations! Highly recommend. I got the sweet potato tagliatelle with spinach and dressed with macadamia nut sauce. My hubby got the kale and quinoa salad. Amazing.

Yelp
Phenomenal! So so good I came here twice. Everything was super fresh and delicious! Would highly recommend for the food and overall atmosphere. Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious. Highly recommend

Yelp
Pretty amazing, gourmet Spanish vegetarian/vegan food. We visited for lunch on a Monday. The place is immaculate and impeccably designed, located very close to the beach. Most things are vegan or vegan modifiable. We ordered 3 dishes to share, which was exactly the right amount, plus some ice cream and espresso for dessert. Total bill was about €65. -We started with an asparagus, artichoke and watercress salad, which was pretty damn nice. I'd never really had raw asparagus and artichoke, but they worked brilliantly. Gently acidic dressing rounded this out nicely. Great stuff. 5/5 -We also shared the grilled cabbage, a pretty creative dish, with full cabbages grilled, with a rich tomato-and-more sauce drizzled over it all that seemed to have some horseradish to it. Pretty amazing dish really. 5/5 -The centrepiece of our lunch was the vegan calzone, with vegan cheese (which seemed more like potato), broccolini, and other goodness baked into it, served with a tangy, semi-spicy sauce. This was incredible. 5/5 -The pistachio ice cream was fantastic too -- creamy, rich, and delectable. Extremely friendly service. All our dishes came out in under 10 mins, which is ridiculously quick for Spain. A little expensive for Spain, but the quality matches. Top-notch veggie/vegan food. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I love the Green Spot. Easy to get vegetarian options and is a very chill atmosphere. Good wines. Try the desserts; you won't regret it.

Yelp
For some reason I was having a hard time finding GREENS in Barcelona. I enjoyed plenty of delicious tapas, but still craved a veggie-forward dish, and stumbled across Green Spot late one evening. FINALLY - I thoroughly enjoyed my asparagus! The atmosphere is modern and enviro-conscious, if a touch pretentious. Service was warm/friendly and attentive without being over involved, and the menu...ah, wonderful. I'm not vegan but if I were, Green Spot would be my favorite place in town. The carrot cake with cashew frosting was AMAZING and worth every calorie! Go for it!

Yelp
LOVE the atmosphere and design here, very comfortable. Pass the cocktail maybe, interesting and unique flavor which I dont mind, but literally no alcohol in both, paying €13-15 for this.. Not worth it. This was a quick stop before my dinner so I only got the avocado foam+pumpkin dish, which was really amazing! It's different, innovative, but keep the healthy form of food (not heavily grilled or fried) very very enjoy it. Wish I had 2 stomachs could try more here. Would definitely visit again when I'm back.

Yelp
Delicious vegetarian food- had the gluten free vegan pizza - which was surprisingly amazing. Really nice spacious interior, and friendly service. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
Take a break from all the tapas and tinto! Solid restaurant for the vegetarian fix. Brand new and the decor is stunning. Go here for that Veg Craving!

Yelp
We found Green Spot while trying to avoid some cold & rainy weather on a Sunday about a month ago. We stopped in for lunch around 1:30pm, and they initially said they couldn't seat us, but then said they could as long as we were out by 3pm (I can see some people being put off by that but it was fine for us.) We had a delightful meal. The space itself is beautiful - minimalist and incredibly calming. We started with the Labneh appetizer, which was a great start to the meal. Incredibly flavorful and had a beautiful blend of flavors (mint, olives, pomegranate). I was unsure of what to order, and our great server highly recommended the Calzone with Eggplant. At first I was unsure (i'm not usually a big eggplant fan), but I trusted him and was very VERY pleased with my Calzone. It was quite a large portion and really satisfying. The crust had a beautiful umami profile, and the filling was cheesy, and full of savory meatiness (despite the lack of meat!) My husband ordered the Morels + Walnut Ravioli in Sage Brown Butter, which was oh-my-gosh good. A great find!

Yelp
So delicious. We were looking for a vegan place after a morning of travel and this restaurant was everything we could've asked for! We had the edamame appetizer, jackfruit tacos, quesadilla, and chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream. Everything was delicious. The server was attentive without being too much. It was an all-around perfect experience and a great start to our vacation in Barcelona.

Jack G.

Yelp
I would have rated this 4-stars if the food were a little more consistent or the value a little better. Some of the dishes are awesome (chilled white asparagus and almond soup, jackfruit tacos, desserts). However, one of the cheeses on the four-cheese overpowered the other three (and not in a good way). The calzone and the focaccia pizza were merely good. Moderately high prices. Pleasant service.

Yelp
Price is little bit high but, Very special and delicious dishes Great ambiance! Very good service! Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant! The atmosphere is great, with a very spacious and well designed interior. The service was also friendly and we were able to order in English easily. The food was also amazing (coming from a non-vegetarian), and prices were very reasonable. I got the black pizza which was delicious, highly recommended!!

Yelp
Felt like pasta so asked the server which was most popular. Cringed when she suggested this one because I HATE truffle anything. Realized today that what I hate is the smell, not the taste. This dish was DELICIOUS. OMG! So glad I found this place and walked across Barcelona to find it.

Yelp
Great food, great atmosphere, great value, horrible service. Only the design of this restaurant is worry a visit. The food is very good and I can very much recommend the fried cauliflower, sweet potatoe tagliatelle with truffle and the pizzas. Only reson for not rating 5 stars is the staff - unattentive, unfriendly and slow/too few of them. It's a shame because everything else is top notch. It took 25 minutes before someone talked to us after we satt down at our table.

Yelp
Came here with my son following a long trip to the Catalan Museum. He wanted pizza and while they have 'foo foo' pizzas on the menu, the waiter was able to discern he may just want a margarita (which is what he wanted), so points for that. We had an appetizer of the edamame which (not indicated on the menu) was drizzled with sunflower oil and sesame. If you have an allergy to sf or sesam, obv. this wont work and would have been good to know ahead of time, but they did accommodate by replacing without sesame seeds. All in all, my son said his pizza was average (he liked Pasta Madre much much better), and I had the jackfruit tacos which were really good bit could have been a ton spicier! Service was hit and miss, as it took a long time to be served initially (during slow period) and then follow up was left wanting (would say not a huge neg. but could/should be tightened up a bit). The atmosphere and space is nice so all points considered results in 4s. But mgt should tighten up a few spots, as it's really a 3.45

Yelp
The Green Spot is one of my favorite restaurants. If you go, which you should, order the sweet potato tagliatelle with truffle, green hemp pizza, beet tartare and curry. To drink I would recommend the mezcal cocktail with jalapeño. GO HERE HUNGRY. Seriously. Skip lunch so you can order double, or train your stomach to eat more. The wait staff can be a little slow as other reviews have noted, but if you wave them over nicely they are very receptive. Also the environment of The Green Spot is calming and beautiful, so I really didn't mind waiting a few extra minutes for my bill.

Yelp
After going twice in one week, I can confirm that this place is a 5 star spot! The butternut squash tagliatelle with hazelnut truffle "cream" sauce was outstanding. But the Spot curry with black rice was even better: a dish I will dream about after I leave Barcelona! It's packed with veggies like squash, baby carrots, baby corn, green beans, snow peas. Plus, it's a downright cool place with nice servers. All around awesome!
google avatar

Yelp
For Barcelona this gets 5 stars. The food is vegan but the most tasty vegan I have ever had and I am from LA the home of overly health conscious food. I'd almost say therebno dish that is not good. Ambience is great. Dark for dinner service but each table had its own lighting. Some nights they have live music and everytime it has been amazing. The fried cauliflower is a must! Curry spot is delicious as well as the best tartar which weirdly has the same texture and aftertaste of meat. You will not be disappointed with whatever you choose!!

Yelp
So I'm sitting in The Green Spot right now (thanks for the wi-fi!) able to write this review. Why you ask? Because I'm done eating and feeling awkward just watching my boyfriend eat. Upon walking in the first thing, gorgeous interior! The second, damn no we don't have a reservation, but we are happy to wait! (muchas gracias for accommodating us!) After some waiting we are seated, after a little more waiting we order 2 glasses of cab. Later, 2 glasses of cava show up, eh we chalk it up to our lack of Spanish no harm no foul, it's tasty! After some more waiting (notice a trend yet?) we order the fried cauliflower as an appetizer, my sweet potato pasta, and his charcoal pizza. Very promptly the cauliflower and pasta shows up. My bf being the gentleman he is says to eat! Now the cauliflower and sweet potato were fantastic, but uh...why am I eating alone?! I'm eating very very very slowly, the once packed restaurant is almost empty, slowly so is my plate.....I flag down a runner and ask where his pizza is....after some more waiting (clearly they didn't make it) she comes out and simply apologizes for the wait. I'm really sad to say this wasn't the experience I was expecting, but the food was in fact great. And I'm getting bored...so I might risk it and order dessert. Edit: I risked it and ordered dessert, a bit ago...still waiting.

Yelp
This was hands down me and my girlfriends favorite vegan restaurant in all of Spain. We were lucky to get in without a reservation and it was perfect. The food is to die for. I got one of their pizza's and it was the best pizza of all time. We tried to go back the next day before our flight home but it didn't open up early enough. The pasta was also amazing. It is more upscale inside than a lot of the restaurants there. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
This is likely the best vegan food in all of Barcelona. I went for my birthday, made a reservation. The service was great, live musician wonderful and food- top notch. Not to be missed by the traveling vegan
google avatar

Val B.

Yelp
A friend of mine recommanded this veggie resto and I am so happy that I went there. I am not a vegan or so, but I like healthy food. I ordered the avocado with beetroot and the edamame with chili. It was heavenly good. I think it's important that you make a reservation there. When we walked in without reservation they kinda panicked and me and my boyfriend did not feel welcome at all. They gave us a table and told us that we could stay for 30 min. So reservation is necesarry I guess. Everybody loves good food.

Mana K.

Yelp
some of the best vegan/vegetarian food i've ever had in the world. way better than teresa carles or flax and kale. ordered a vegetarian pizza the "wings" and noodles were absolutely divine. very umami a bit too salty but otherwise great.
google avatar

Nadia S.

Yelp
The ambiance it's perfect. The food was awesome. The staff was awesome. Everything was AWESOME. New favorite spot in Barcelona!
google avatar

Tim B.

Yelp
Normally love this place but the manager was incredibly rude and wouldnt let let me eat there because I had been caught in the rain and had a wet T shirt. Ridiculous!
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
The service was not good. Very blah. No one working here seems happy to be there. No interaction whatsoever. Food came out suspiciously fast. We were a party of four guests. Two meals came out cold (pizza and tacos). My rice dish came out so hot I couldn't eat it for at least 15 minutes. And the burger with fries was very good. Worst restaurant experience in my 10 days in Barcelona.

Yelp
Walking into The Green Spot is an experience all on its own, one that prefaces the over all purpose of coming here, the food. The automatic sliding glass door, the wooden hallway with minimalist decor that hides nothing, letting you know its integrity, its honesty, it needs to hide nothing. The hallway leads you into the heart of the restaurant, which is warm and welcoming. The Staff attentive and knowledgeable, make you feel like you're having dinner with old friends, and the kitchen open and visible, lets you see the mechanics of what goes into the food. THE FOOD, packs a flavor punch with every bite that only great produce can deliver, a taste that exposes the most delicious qualities of every ingredient. It reminded me of every beautiful corner in Barcelona, and in my opinion, Barcelona's focus on artistry, and localism, a city from another time, living in the present. The portions are perfect, and the drinks are crafted like a work of art, beautiful, refreshing, and each sip touches all the senses, I highly recommend everyone to order a drink. The Green Spot isn't just a place where you'll grab a bite, even if thats the only reason you plan on going there, because once you cross that glass door you're in for a Catalonian vegetarian ride, of taste, smell and feel. I hope I can be back here again for a new journey. So, if you're coming here tonight, you made the right choice.

Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere, great food and good service. We went for a late lunch on a Saturday without a reservation and were seated quickly. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. We had the carrot juice which was really good and refreshing. We had pizza and tagliatelle which were both really really good. And for desert, the lime pie was wonderful.

Laura S.

Yelp
The food is good, but the quality-price relation is not so good. I've found it too expensive. There are other vegan restaurants in Barcelona more tasty and with a better price. Anyway, if your pocket can allow it it's a nice restaurant, with space and nicely decorated.
google avatar

Kristy A.

Yelp
If you're looking for vegetarian or vegan, this place is world class. First, it's pretty difficult in Barcelona to find vegan food, and second, regardless of if you eat meat or not, the food is delicious. On top of that, the service is top notch and the vibe is modern, clean and inviting. I got the goat cheese, walnut calzone and the kimchi quesadilla with avocado. Both were amazing.

Nina C.

Yelp
We searched high & low for this place, to be disappointed by the service. This review is strictly based on service. We were excited to try this high end restaurant. We walked in & were seated. The waitress with the long braids asked us what we wanted to drink without giving us an opportunity to look at the menu (they have a unique menu) or going over anything with us. We asked her a question & she answered with a few short words. She didn't even let us ask any other questions & turned & walked away!!! How rude!!! We looked over the menu & sat there for about 15/20 minutes trying to get her attention without luck. The restaurant had many tables with customers, but not super busy. There were 3 waitresses, but they seemed preoccupied talking to each other. At this point we just decided to leave & not waste our money here, especially since it is a pricey place.

Bill U.

Yelp
We had a great meal. Whole family loved their meal. Sweet potato tagliatelle was very nice. My wife's gnocchi was delicious. Our vegan daughter loves her meal. Service was great

Gail G.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant in a peaceful elegant atmosphere with very sophisticated vegetarian cuisine. Gluten free options were excellent also. Very happy!

Yelp
Ive been here twice for both lunch and dinner. The food is good but by no means amazing or particularly original. For Barcelona though it is refreshing to find a new organic and vegetarian spot with vegan options. I was disappointed to walk in w my mother (who is currently unable to walk well due to an accident) at around 12:45 on a Saturday morning to be turned away by a rude hostess who told us they were completely booked (not one seat in this huge restaurant was filled yet) and insultingly replied to us in English when both my mother and I are Latin American and spoke to her in Spanish. I will return here but I find there to be an aura of pretension to the place that is irritating. The prices are a bit too high for the quality of the food-- it's nothing creative by western vegetarian cuisine standards. Their dishes have all been done. The food is far better at Theresa Carles and Flax & Kale and their service is much friendlier and accommodating. We have never been turned away at those establishments despite how popular they are.
