Cocktail Trend: How to Make Blue Cocktails with Butterfly Pea Flower | Eater

"In Twin Peaks, CA, the inn’s grill uses butterfly pea flower tea in a sparkling lavender-and-lemon drink, employing the tea more for its vivid blue hue and delicate, earthy, green-tea–like flavor to create an aromatic, visually striking beverage." - Lia Picard

Food and service was great! Personal favorite was the shrimp and scallop pasta. The seafood was so soft and cooked perfectly. My friend loved the bread pudding ❣️

This place is great! Our second time here and had Jared as our server both times- he is really informative, attentive and friendly as a server. Thank you Jared! The food is good, I had the halibut which was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend had the ribeye which was great as well! Excellent cocktails too. Will be back again!

Google
We decided to check this place out after noticing the menu online while looking for dinner options. Kind of all over the place but in a good way, definitely sparked our interest. Showed up on a Friday evening, didn't have a reservation (we didn't check before heading over). They still accommodated us pretty quick considering it was pretty busy. Service was great, atmosphere was great, our server was personable. Food was fantastic. I got the Reserve (ribeye) and it was cooked exactly how I ordered it. We'll definitely be back

We’ve always dined at Antlers for any special occasion. We love the atmosphere, the service and of course the food! Between the delicious appetizers to the dessert, we are never disappointed. Worth every dollar spent for this amazing cuisine.

Google
This place is really worth a trip up the mountain! My first time visiting this restaurant. I met the owner Larry and his son Jared (in photo). Best kept secret on the mountain for sure. Always busy, call for reservations. I had a great "true" caesar salad....red snapper (incredible and no photo) and their pear apple bread pudding YUM! Service was outstanding, Food was FRESH...Red Snapper (daily special) was perfect! The dining area is lodge poles almost 100 years old.....be sure to call and reserve....this place gets and stays busy...and I can see why! LOOK>>> I came Back. This time Carri was my server,/host. Really nice person. My rosemary chicken was wonderful. The tomato chutney ..yum. The chicken was perfect and the gravy. I could have had more it was so good. I felt like I was enjoying a Thanksgiving dinner it was so tasty. Finished with their flowerless chocolate cake. One bite and well I ate the whole thing. So good! Thanks. I'll be back for more soon!

Google
Very nice experience, took my wife here for our 1 year anniversary on Nov. 10, 2023. Definitely make reservations, we went on a friday night and they were turning people away at one point. Amazing service. Server wasnt too clingy, was very charming, casual, but professional at the same time. Food came out at a nice pace. Slow enough to enjoy your food and the atmosphere, along with great drinks. I ordered the white peach mule. The grilled bread and truffle butter with mushroom soup starter was my wifes favorite. I was hesitant ordering a $36 halibut cut, but i would order it over and over again. Great appetizer aswell. Calamari wasnt chewy or greasy, and the noodles were a nice touch. We ordered the lavender creme brulee for desert and it did not at all disappoint. By far one of the top three restaurants in the San Bernandino Mountains. We will be back soon. The drive up was great aswell, we came from Big Bear at night. For an added adventure there is Strawberry Peak Lookout 5 mins away, breathtaking views.

Google
Traveling in the area for a week, this place took the prize. Amazing food (had a pasta dish and partner a salad), excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. My Gorgonzola chicken penne was possibly the best pasta dish I’ve ever had. Ridiculously wonderful.

Google
It's a nice setting in the mountains. The inside is a little noisy and has a bar in a large room for dining. I chose outside, and it was great. The service was awesome, very helpful with a smile. I had the tempra avocados for a starter they were great. I highly recommend it. The burger and fries with fruit were the bomb right on point. This is a big burger. I could only eat half.

Yelp
We came here out of sheer desperation, it was Memorial Day weekend, and this was the fourth restaurant we tried after being turned away everywhere else. Total luck that they seated us right away, and honestly? It ended up being the best meal of the weekend. I had the fillet with mashed potatoes and broccoli, and everything was cooked perfectly. The fillet was tender, the potatoes were creamy, and even the broccoli was somehow amazing (which is not something I say lightly). My boyfriend had the tortellini with spicy peppers, he loved it! The real star of the night, though, was our waiter, Lindsay. He could seriously do stand-up. Funny, quick, totally on it, and probably the best waiter I've ever had. If I could request him at every restaurant from now on, I would. In short: amazing food, even better service, and a total win after a chaotic day of failed dinner attempts.

Yelp
Stopped by The Grill at Antler Inn while visiting Big Bear after a local recommendation, and it was a great pick! The atmosphere was super cozy and homely, and the staff was very welcoming and kind. I ended up ordering something off the menu based on their recommendation, and it was really good! While I wasn't completely full when I left, the food was definitely worth it. I'd love to come back next time I'm in town!

Yelp
This place was packed over the weekend but luckily they had space to seat us on the dog-friendly patio (note there are no heaters but the sun was still up so we were warm enough). For food, we shared the ahi tuna poke, Thai salad, and salmon - everything was served quickly and tasted so fresh and flavorful! For drinks I had the blueberry basil mule cocktail (delicious), and for dessert we shared the bread pudding (we devoured this). This was exactly the meal we were craving after a few days of hiking. Our server was also wonderful!

Yelp
Loved this beautiful little place Definitely recommend making a reservation We went in on a Thursday night and a res would have helped We sat at the bar where they also serve full menu The bartender Hannah was awesome Helpful and very friendly Food was good as well Kinda wish the crab cakes were crunchier though The the steaks and salmon were very delicious and cooked perfectly

Yelp
Fabulous iconic Lodge in Twin Peaks, not far from Arrowhead. Our favorite place, especially for a celebratory dinner/event. Love the Salmon and thier house salad is excellent. Plenty of food, we often take home left overs for a great lunch the next day. Just a note they do not supply a house bread to accompany meals...a shame. Great staff and service. We are not drinkers and a meal runs a bit over $100.00 +tip. Well worth it. Enjoy!!

Yelp
Came on a Friday night a little early to our reservation, but were able to get seated right away. Our server was over right away to greet us and was very welcoming. She shared the specials and asked if we wanted to get some of their grilled bread started. We absolutely ordered the bread. She gave us a few minutes to decide on drinks. They had a pretty good wine list, with several available by the glass. They also had a good cocktail list, which is updated seasonally. I ordered the espresso martini, and two others picked different cocktails. The bread with its truffle butter came out quickly and was delicious. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Everyone was very happy with their cocktails as well. Our server happily answered questions about our entrees, and we got the order in. Food came out relatively quickly. In the meantime, our water glasses stayed full and we ordered additional drinks. For food, I got the seafood special. The pappardelle noodles were cooked nicely, and there was a nice amount of different fish/shellfish. Everyone enjoyed their meals, but the only little thing was that maybe the portions were a little small for the price. We understand though there aren't a lot of restaurants in the area, and it takes time to get supplies up the mountain. Overall though, we would definitely return when in town in the future. The service was outstanding, and the cabin vibe feels very cozy.

Yelp
What a great restaurant! We were visiting friends who live in Crestline, and they recommended The Grill at the Antlers Inn. The Grill was up in the mountains, surrounded by trees, but parking was easy. We arrived a little early for our reservation, but we were able to be seated in the dining hall. The decor was mountain cabin--open ceiling with logs visible and black tablecloths. The drink menu was extensive, and we were told that the bartender updated the menu seasonally. I had a new drink with mezcal and smoked rosemary. It was so good that I had a second one with dinner. We weren't too hungry because we had a big lunch, but my partner and I split the Ahi Poke, and it was more than enough for both of us. We also wanted to save room for dessert because we were told the desserts were homemade and delicious. Our friends had the Special Pumpkin Tortellini and Chicken & Penne Gorgonzola. They both said the dishes were excellent. For dessert, we had the flourless chocolate cake, which was divine. I love flourless chocolate cake, and it was one of the best I have ever had. It was dense but not too thick, rich, and chocolatey. I would come back just for the cake! The Grill at the Antlers Inn is a gem in the mountains worth a stop!

Yelp
Wow, what a shock! The reviews are all so good but we had a different experience than most, it seems. We first called to see if we could get a reservation for dinner that night but the hostess said the restaurant was entirely booked for the night and the following two nights as well. Since the reviews were so great we decided to try and go sit at the bar for a cocktail at least and check it out. When we arrived all but 2 tables were empty. We were seated with enthusiasm as hardly anyone was there. My dinner salad was limp, yellow, and doused in dressing. Inedible. My pizza was basically a cracker with marinara sauce and frozen chicken bits sprinkled about. Inedible. My husband's pasta was just simply inedible. What a huge disappointment! The bartender did thank us for coming as we left.

Yelp
High key, this place is delish. Great service. Mountain ambiance and located right on the main road between 18 and Lake Arrowhead. Make a reservation cuz it has a more intimate setting; seating is limited. They have a full bar and great wine selection

Yelp
This restaurant was suggested to us by our hotel manager because my hubby wanted a steak. There is indoor and outdoor dining. First, we had a calamari appetizer. Then he had the rib eye (with mashed potatoes and asparagus), and I had the halibut that with came with risotto and julienned vegetables. We tried the lemon zest cheesecake and the apple and pear bread pudding for dessert (both suggested by our server). The calamari was too bready and the desserts were a bit disappointing. The cheesecake was not lemony enough, and the bread pudding was very mushy and not flavorful. Service was superb and the main entrees were fabulous. So, I won't deduct any stars for the appetizer or desserts. Dinner for two with 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, no beverages, tax, and tip was about $150.

Yelp
What a wonderful restaurant. We really enjoyed the food and service was outstanding. Great place in the mountains to enjoy a good meal.

Yelp
Outstanding! Wonderful experience, the food was amazing, good service, and just great ambience. We will definitely go back

Yelp
Amazing food! Split with my mom for the entrees. They were very helpful with getting a separate plate for sharing. Loved the tortellini although the sausage was spicy. The sea bass had good flavor and was very tender. Definitely recommend!!! It was very calm and the service was amazing.

Yelp
Excellence in the mountain! Mountain vibe meets high end restaurant! No contest!this is the best steak I've had in Arrowhead or Big Bear! Service was top rated and did not disappoint. I had the Ribeye and they let me exchange the potatoes for more veggies Lets Go!!! Everything about this restaurant is quality!

Yelp
This was the best meal we've had in a very long time. Who knew from such a rustic old inn/restaurant. A delightful surprise! There is a talented chef hiding in the back of this old log inn. The food was spot on, salmon and seafood perfectly prepared, not overdone with delicious flavors. This food is top notch one of the best meals even in comparison to any expensive restaurant in any culinary city I've been to (I've had seafood and pasta in cities such as NOLA, Paris , Rome, LA and Vegas of course). This is a hidden treasure for a delicious meal. The log cabin vibe is old and rustic which is okay being that's up in the mountains. I give 5 stars for the meal. The waiter was nice our food came out pretty fast.

Yelp
Decided to take my girl away for the weekend and had 3 different people recommend this place for our romantic dinner. We happen to be here after the 1st major snow of the season. As with most small mountain communities, when the snow falls, things change. This time was no different. With the snow burms piled high from the snowplows, parking was very difficult to secure. Both their parking lots were full. We got lucky hanging out across the street until someone left from the front lot. First impression, rustic, warm and romantically set. We had a dark corner by the fireplace. So romantic setting; check. Service was very good. Our server was informative, attentive and appropriately humorous. Bar service: I had a new old fashion for starters and it was good. Food came out in good timing and perfectly prepared. I had the pork chops and they were perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. The combination of jerk spices on the pork chop, a chicken tamale for the starch and mango sauce topping sounds like an odd combo, but trust me, it works and is a must try. Portions are appropriate for a single meal unless you eat very light. My wife had the sea bass and it was a little overcooked, but flavorful and well presented. Prices are what you would expect for a nice meal out. If you are in the Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead or Rim Forest area, this apparently is the go to spot for that special occasion.

Yelp
In Arrowhead for a wedding. Wanted a nice dinner and we certainly got one. Service was wonderful and the restaurant was a cozy "lodge". My daughter and I had the Ahi Wonton, Ribeye, Rosemary Chicken and the Lavender Crème Brûlée. I told our server that I saw the great reviews on Yelp and was not disappointed. Our proteins were cooked to perfection and everything was delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely a mountain treasure. The decor is as you'd expect for a mountain spot. It's a tad dark so bring your glasses. The food was excellent! Halibut was perfectly prepared with vegetables and risotto on the side. Pork chop special was superbly prepared- juicy and tender. Service was attentive and friendly!

Steve S.

Yelp
We always have a great meal here. Quality food, friendly service and relaxing atmosphere.

Yelp
My husband, daughter and family enjoyed a dinner at The Grill at the Antlers Inn for Mother's Day. We have always had great meals and live the ambiance. We had a great waitress whom was very informative about everything on the menu. The food was so delicious. We will continue to eat at the Antlers, it's the best restaurant around.
google avatar

Arolyn B.

Yelp
Absolutely delightful flavors. Everything was perfection. We had great service the halibut was divine. The steak to die for. We tried All the desserts! I fell in love with the bread pudding and Chambord chocolate. We will definitely be back

Yelp
Had a bachelorette trip up to Lake Arrowhead this past weekend, Saturday night was our night out to The Grill for dinner. We had a party of 7, and were accommodated very well!! We sat by the large fire place, which was very nice and cozy. Our server Garrett was very friendly and made the experience even better!! We ordered a bunch of different apps, entrees and split them amongst all of us. Every item was very good, especially the rosemary chicken, and our steak plates!! The Thai salad was phenomenal, and the tortellini pasta. We had a couple bottles of champagne and wine with our meal to celebrate our bride!! All in all a great experience, I'd definitely dine with The Grill again! Maybe even next time try the sushi bar upstairs!!

Hannah A.

Yelp
Excellent service and ambiance. Workers were very polite and friendly. The food was good but not as great as I'd expected. Looking to try their sushi next time though.
google avatar

Kelly P.

Yelp
Well this is the best place by far up in the mountains. We had excellent service from a guy whose name started with a G and it was unique but I forget! The soup was amazing and the bruschetta, too. I had the chicken and my date had the rib eye. What a wonderful place! Highly recommend Thank you!
google avatar

Tamara H.

Yelp
A group of six of us arrived after the Farmers Markets, just down from the restaurant. It was early and we were able to get a table without reservations. The service was excellent and everyone enjoyed their entree selection. Will definitely return to try other dishes.
google avatar

Abigail B.

Yelp
The most delicious food on the mountain. We live in Crestline and this is our go to restaurant for birthdays and anniversaries. Prompt and friendly service makes the dining experience even more lovely. We are heading there again this week for our son's 17th birthday!
google avatar

Debbie B.

Yelp
Had dinner at Antlers Inn last night. Highly recommend. It has a rustic elegance with a cool vibe. The staff were very friendly. Babe was our bartender - yes that is her name. She discussed our options. We ate sitting at the bar. The Caesar salad was perfectly dressed and tasty. We shared the scallops with spaghettini. They split it for us. The meal was delicious! The sauce was light and scallops prepared perfectly. Wish they were open on Mondays we would definitely go back. Fun place to hangout on our getaway trip.
google avatar

Russell B.

Yelp
Love me this place!! Great vibe, people, menu, etc. perfect for a quiet dinner with friends.
google avatar

Helen W.

Yelp
Beautiful cabin style ambiance with excellent food. We all had the 24 hour marinated beef and it was tender and very juicy. The grilled sourdough bread with truffle butter was very tasty. We had the ice cream pie, apple pudding and lavendar creme brulee for dessert. All were delicious. Our server, Garrick, was amazing - funny, engaging and very personable. Make sure you call ahead for a reservation as this place fills up quickly since the dining room isn't that big. Although it was very busy and crowded, we felt very well taken care of.
google avatar

Ellen A.

Yelp
We were at our cabin in Big Bear with friends and decided to spend the afternoon in Arrowhead village and try this restaurant for dinner. My husband and I had dined here a few years ago and loved the rustic charm. Nothing has changed with the decor and atmosphere-such a cool cabin lodge! The food, however, was even more outstanding! We all loved our entrees. Reasonable corkage fee for wine that we brought. Our server, Lauryn, was so friendly and helpful as well. We will be back!
google avatar

Julio R.

Yelp
The food and the service were excellent! Ambiance was just right. Overall a very nice experience. We're definitely coming back!
google avatar

Steve N.

Yelp
Cozy mountain atmosphere, cute bar and good service. I Recommend any appetizer on their menu.
google avatar

Katie E.

Yelp
I came here with a group of family and we all loved this place! On a different trip, my husband and I also ate upstairs for sushi. If you're eating sushi, I would suggest to eat upstairs to get the full menu. Downstairs dining only has limited selection of sushi. I recommend you make a reservation for either eating downstairs or upstairs for sushi as they get really busy. Service at this place are phenomenal. All the food we ordered were fantastic! If you like fish, their grilled salmon is really good. Definitely will be coming back again.
google avatar

Laura B.

Yelp
So glad we decided to branch out in Arrowhead, being locals for many years now it was nice to go out to a great dinner.. We had a super sweet waitress and our meals and drinks were amazing! If you're looking for a rustic ambiance this is a treat...
google avatar

Tina R.

Yelp
A great menu, fine dining in the mountains, cozy atmosphere, and the chef is incredible. Had the Alaskan cod with rizzoto and veggies. Fish not overcooked here! Great servers too.
google avatar

Kimberly A Z.

Yelp
This is just for whomever answers the phone. I just called and someone answered the phone "Hello." I asked if this was The Grill. He said "yes." I asked if he had any reservations this Saturday at 6pm for 4 people. He said "I do not. Only 430 and 730" and hung up the phone. Ok, just based on that kind of customer service, one star. Don't know if I'll ever try this restaurant.
google avatar

Tina B.

Yelp
Everything was very tasty. Just like what all of the other reviewers say: nice ambience, attentive and friendly staff, and did I mention the food? Spaghetti bolognese was super tasty, the chicken was very moist, the Cajun chicken appetizer was OK. The house salad with the raspberry vinaigrette was crowd favorite which accompanied any entree dish. The bread with truffle butter was super good (look at the bottom of the menu in fine print to order that*) . Tempura avocado appetizer was also pretty good ...no picture of that.. it was eaten too quickly. Small place so be sure to call and get reservations. They have a hidden sushi spot located inside and up a flight of stairs however it doesn't sit too many ppl, 5 ppl at the sushi bar with 4 small tables.
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
Great food and great people. The setting is awesome as you dine in a log cabin built by a local many years ago. Always love dining at the Antlers Inn!
google avatar

Staci H.

Yelp
Great place for an upscale dinner in the mountains. Celebrated our anniversary and was not disappointed
google avatar

Timothy M.

Yelp
The log cabin interior gave a nice cozy atmosphere. The service was fast (not rushed) and super friendly. The food was AMAZING! Considering the elevated service and the amazing food the prices were very reasonable.

Autumn H.

Yelp
Good was great and I love the atmosphere. Cozy inn type, there was a live singer too.
google avatar

Bryan ..

Yelp
So good! Just go here. It's so good! You won't regret it! Food, service, and ambiance- so good'
google avatar

Gnarles M.

Yelp
The setting, service and food are exceptional. The owner is very nice and shared his story of the restaurant which was great to hear. The portions were generous as was the complimentary dinner salad and birthday dessert which is rare these days. Our large family felt very welcomed and treated like special guests. Well with a visit.
google avatar

Daniel F.

Yelp
Charming 100 year old building. Very friendly and informative service without being intrusive. (Readily admitted a dish was taken off the menu since it didn't come up to chef's standards) Absolutely delicious house cured salmon and heirloom tomato appetizer with walnuts, silky savory mushroom soup, juicy pork tenderloin with guava BBQ sauce and tamale (!), moist sea bass on risotto with watermelon coulis and, coup de grâce - light as a feather peanut butter pie. One of the best meals we've had in ages. Thanks!
google avatar

Chloe H.

Yelp
Really excellent food and service. Went here for dinner and we enjoyed our meal. It is more expensive than other places but you get what you pay for at least. I will be back. Such a cool old inn.

Korri R.

Yelp
The absolute best place on the mountain. My favorite place to go and meet friends. Try the fish special, always hit!

Debbie H.

Yelp
Great food, service, and ambiance!! Filet mignon was tender and juicy - the perfect medium rare. Halibut had the perfect crust. Drinks (both cocktail and mocktail) were delicious. We will definitely be back for more :)
google avatar

Javier D.

Yelp
Best food ,staff is top tier . Really good drinks as well. Get a great mountain vibe here since it's a nice spot for the locals . Bartender Bam is the man!

Yelp
Antler's Inn Grill is a truly amazing restaurant with a creative menu. The filet mignon with debergo sauce is the most tender and flavorful filet mignon that I have ever tasted. The macadamia nut crusted sea bass and Caribbean salmon come with delicious sauces. The flourless, super rich, fudge-like chambord chocolate cake is the best desert that I have ever tasted. Antler's Inn Grill offers a unique dining experience that you don't want to miss. M Meleon
