A newer independent spot on the strip, The Grill focuses on Certified Angus cuts for the table grill plus seafood and hot pots. Covered by the Tacoma News Tribune when it opened, it’s become a solid choice for groups wanting quality meats without the chain feel.

Korean grill was very good. Fun place to enjoy some delicious food. The meat selection for all you can eat is a good variety. They stay open late. Fast service. Parking lot is a little dark but not creepy.

Google
All the sides are so flavorful and delicious. The menu has a good variety of tasty traditional Korean food to try. Something for everyone! Service is quick and very friendly. The food is a good value and delicious!

I’d been wanting to come here for a while, and I’m glad we finally made it! The meat quality was great, and we specifically came to try their duck. We ordered both the regular and spicy versions, both were really good. A bit on the pricey side, but overall, it was a great experience. The side dishes were good, and the service was prompt. Would definitely come back! Let me know if you want any tweaks!

Google
The atmosphere is nice we have not try the grill when we go there we just order individual or ala cart but so far the food is great and the service is good too i like that even your not doing the grill they still give you side dishes in your ala cart order

Google
The best korean food I ever had in WA.. will come back, the employees are very friendly. Highly recommended korean restaurant.

We went to The Grill because we were craving some Korean BBQ. This restaurant offers a great portion of meat for their all-you-can-eat option, which includes one drink per person. They also provide unlimited rice (because we know how much Asians love rice, haha) and a delicious Korean side salad. I highly recommend this place, but make sure to come here really hungry! They also have a menu for non-all-you-can-eat options, which we plan to try next time.

Very grateful to have my first Korean bbq experience at this location, super friendly staff as well as delicious food. of course it’s different cooking your own food but honestly it was very fun and stimulating gave me something to do besides scroll on my phone I recommend 5/5 couldn’t find anything wrong thank you !

Google
Good bbq among many places in area (as in my opinion). We has ayce lunch, good price! The meat as all good, cant say which is our favorite cause like them all😂 they offer a can soda, 1/person. The server is nice but no smile at all 😅 but for the food Will definitely coming back!

Yelp
First time here, and it is so good! Been hearing about this place from my mom, and if an older Korean lady says this restaurant is good, it must be, and it was! The lady serving us was so attentive and friendly. She also was attentive to my 2 year old son and made sure he even liked the food. The place was really clean and organized. I can't wait to come back and try different dishes.

Yelp
Terrible service from one specific lady. She would try to act nice and smile and ask if you needed stuff but when you do ask for something she comes back with so much attitude. Once we mention one thing we need shes gone before you can even finish what else you need, doesn't respond or say okay or anything just leaves. I asked for scissors and she came back and very rudely dropped the scissors at the edge of the table and proceeded to cater to the table next to us. Literally my whole table stopped eating and looked because what she did and how she did it was that noticeable. This lady spoke enough english to understand what we were ordering but when my friend asked for kimchi pancake in english she looked at me and said what? and i had to say it in Korean for her. We asked for a high chair and the lady said it's over there and simply left, typically most restaurants have servers that are kind enough to bring you the high chair since your hands are full with the children. Not sure if this lady didn't like that my friends weren't Korean or that we brought little children with us. There was another lady that checked in on us when that other lady wasn't around and she was super kind. But that one lady really did make the whole dinner terrible. Food- we had kimchi pancake, yukgye jang, pork katsu, la kalbi and cold noodles. Considering the price of each, the flavor was meh. Katsu was pretty dry. Kimchi pancake was crumbling and not full of kimchi flavor. Yukgye jang the flavor just wasn't there. We asked for one to have no gosari and it still came with it. If it cant be taken out we would've ordered something else.

Yelp
Place wasn't crowded so we got seated right away. Restaurant was decently clean. What you would expect from any Korea restaurant. Waitress was very nice. Food came out pretty quickly. Food was well worth the price. Combo meat 3 had a decent amount of meat but the combo food 2 was way worth it. Came with grilled fish, full size spicy pork, spicy octopus, steam egg and miso soup. I would go back just for that. The waitress checked on us a few times throughout our meal but managed to forgot about our drinks and condiments. After we reminded her she was very apologetic. Will visit again to try their other dishes.

Yelp
The bbq here is pretty good. Me and my friends got the combo 2 and my favorite was the seasoned boneless short rib. It was super flavorful and delicious. The bulgogi was leaning more on the even more sweeter side than I'm used to. All the meats were pretty good quality too. I enjoyed all the side dishes. I would say the best ones were the cucumber kimchi and the radish one. I also did get a steamed egg dish and i wouldn't really recommend it. It had a bit of a burnt taste to it but I still ate it all. The service was good. Our waitress was kind enough. We did accidently make a mess and she wasn't mad or anything. We did try to clean it up a bit to make the spillage more manageable. It was pretty busy at like 7 pm on a Thursday night. There were many older Korean customers on the none bbq side of the restaurant. I would definitely come back to try that part of the menu next time.

Yelp
Best KBBQ in Tacoma! I have been here several times & it never disappoints. The service is INCREDIBLE! The ladies working are so kind, helpful with the grilling, and attentive! The food is amazing, all the items are great quality! Worth the price overall. Will come back to eat KBBQ again!

Yelp
Pretty Expensive but WORTH My friends and I were originally going to a different KBBQ but realized it wasnt AYCE and was super expensive for a combo. You get a free drink with the AYCE dinner. Super clean and the service was amazingly fast. It was on the pricier side and they ran out of some sides as we came in late. I think it was a great experience and its worth the expensive price because they are fast, kind, and AYCE! would go again with some friends! Oh they only play music in certain parts of the store and we sat at the area where no music was playing so it'll be nice to have music but besides that the meat and food was high quality!!!
google avatar

Yelp
High quality food and friendly, attentive service in a cozy interior. The prices are a bit high, but the quality of food matches the price.
google avatar

Yelp
The overall experience wasn't good. Our server rushed us the entire time, just threw our entire tray of meat on the grill and it went everywhere. The brisket slices were small in size (about half the normal size) and very fatty. Everything was overpriced for what you get.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was fresh and so good! - I am not Korean. Severs are all attentive and friendly. Restaurant is clean and organized. It was not dusty nor sticky. I will definitely come back!

Yelp
Been to The Grill twice now and I can finally say I am a FAN. I have had a lot of KBBQ and I can say this is probably by far my favorite place to go to in Lakewood! The selection isn't as big as other places but they have decent choices, and it is pretty pricey but they make up for it with good quality meats. We got a lot mostly LA Kalbi, Beef Belly, Brisket, and Pork Belly. Kalbi was very delicious and tender with a nice marinade, and our personal favorite the brisket and beef belly was fatty and tasty! This is probably my favorite KBBQ spot to eat side dishes as well. Their kimchi is my favorite! It isnt sour but it's very savory and has a really good spice. Would definitely come here again for their friendly service and good quality KBBQ!

Yelp
Place was clean and bright. Looks small on the outside but actually quite roomy. Our servers were super friendly and we enjoyed their service. The food!! Omg, the braised rib soup is my recommendation. It was flavorful and the meat was just falling off the bone. They cut the meat for you into smaller sizes so it's easier to eat. We got a great portion of pork belly for the korean bbq. The broiled flounder was also very flavorful and crispy. My mom loved it! My family enjoyed it and it is definitely on our top favorite places to eat in the area.

Yelp
Arrived here around 3pm on a Thursday and there was no wait! The place has open parking and easy to locate. The majority of the staff spoke and understood English for those worried about any communication barriers. They are currently updating their all you can eat selection. The selection they currently have is good and delicious. One thing I like about them is that they pay attention of portion control. They would rather give you "enough" than give you a standard portion and have you worry about any leftovers. Quality meat. Quality service. Fun fact. AYCE dinner is $41 for dinner, but you get either a bottle of soju, beer, or 2 free soft drinks! It's nothing to brag about, but that's $6-10 for free compared to other competitors. Will come back again. Plus the ambiance is well spaced out and ventilation is great!
google avatar

Gena P.

Yelp
I have had the AYCE KBBQ and the meat quality was great! There is not much diversity in terms of selections, but if you are like me... who mainly eats galbi, beef brisket and belly... you will not be disappointed. I would give it a 5/5 except the service was slow. The waitresses were nice it is just that they couldn't keep up with the service. They forgot to bring out certain meats I requested and they didn't check up to refill water. Overall, good experience though!

Yelp
1/25/2024 Dinner Visiting the area and my friend who was visiting as well was craving for Korean BBQ. We had a function nearby and decided to search for a place and this place popped up in Yelp. We decided since it had 4 stars, why not. Parking was ample. Walked in, at peak of dinner time and the place was quiet with 2 other tables taken. We got seated right away. Food was okay, our favorite was the Brisket and short ribs. Typical sides were included except they didn't have potato salad and rice paper. Maybe only in California. Service, she was nice. But you have to flag her down to request for more meat. I hate when a restaurant is not busy and we have to call someone to be served. For $41, I expected to have other menu items be part of the All-You-Can-Eat, but nope, all separate. So that was a bummer. I've had KBBQ pretty frequently and most of the time; when they say All-You-Can-Eat, it means "ALL". Would we come back, probably not. Not for $41.

Yelp
If you're like me, you're always looking for a good (KBBQ) Korean BBQ place; especially all you can eat! While Lakewood has plenty of Korean restaurants, there aren't many all you can eat KBBQ ones. This place has changed hands quite a bit in a short amount of time; so you may already be familiar with the location. I know service can be hit or miss at these establishments but we had great service. If you have read any of my other reviews, you'll know I'm not huge on service being a priority; I just want amazing food. So if service is your thing, don't rely on my review on that lol! Service was a bit slow and it wasn't busy; but again, probably due to new ownership and figuring things out. We were able to call her over so not a big deal. And as the evening went on, service got better. They're fantastic about setting up your grill, changing it out etc. Okay more important stuff - FOOD! We got the large seafood along with the all you can eat. We had 5 people. Okay the large was a LOT of seafood and unless you are prepared to REALLY grub, don't do both haha. She was very sweet. She boiled the leftover seafood so we could take it home. I've been too a lot of KBBQ places and this place hands down, best short ribs and brisket I have ever had. SO good.

Yelp
Came here with a group of our friends, the food was overall pretty good! Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience with the person serving us. It actually made the experience extremely uncomfortable and awkward as we sat around waiting on any type of service past our initial order. When the server did come by, they repeatedly bumped into us with their arms or water pitcher, scoffed at our requests, and refused to provide what we ordered. We ended up practically talking to ourselves for half our requests because they would turn and walk away in the middle of us speaking to them. It seemed like we were the only ones being treated this way as that server visited every other table surrounding, providing them with multiple orders, refills, etc...My friends were extremely kind to this person and decided not to say anything, and we left without further incident but I just have never experienced this type of behavior by staff at a restaurant. This was just very disheartening considering how much we paid to be eating there. We will not be returning but we hope that maybe the server was just having a bad day.

Yelp
Very friendly staff. Delicious food. It can get a bit crowded. Parking can be a bit difficult. I will return again.

Yelp
It was SO EMBARRASSING to bring my family here! There was a lady with shorter hair that was one of our servers, was so RUDE. Her attitude was just horrible. I just can't believe she works here. She got mad because we wanted to order our sodas. (Which was included with the AYCE) and any time we asked for anything she just seemed like it was a bother to ask. She came turned off our flames without even letting our food finish cooking. After she brought us our checks and told us gratuity was already included since we had a larger party which was fine. BUT she went around clearly looking at everyone's checks to see if we tipped extra, and when she saw that we didn't (she didn't deserve anything at all IMO) she was nasty rude and yelled at one of my brothers to "JUST SIGN IT!" When she charged him incorrectly. The lady with longer hair was SO SWEET! One of my brothers wanted some pork belly but the rest of the table didn't so she was nice enough to bring just a few slices for him and actually asked if we needed anything else. We will not be returning. I HIGHLY SUGGESTING YOU GUYS LETTING THE LADY WITH SHORT HAIR GO, SHE WILL MAKE YOU GUYS LOSE BUSINESS.

Ann C.

Yelp
First time here, and didn't do the KBBQ to grill but instead got one of the Combo sets for 5 that included fish, Galbi, spicy cod stew, steamed egg, soybean stew, etc and everything was delicious! They even had raw marinated crab as a side dish wish a lot of the restaurants north of Seattle rarely have. Service was great and it was also had AC on the day it was over 90 degrees outside! Definitely want to come back again to have their Kbbq!

K L.

Yelp
Overall great Korean BBQ. Had the all you can eat, for two. The quality of the meats is pretty good. They also provide really great Korean side dishes. The service is also very friendly. I would highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
Sat quickly. We were able to get our money's worth within their 60-minite time limit for dinner because the waitress checked on us often. I like that the AYCE came with a choice of sake, beer, or soft drinks. Good banchan options and all around super friendly service. Despite having individual vents above the tables, the smoke from the table grills was a bit much for the marinated meats. I think this is partly because their grilling surface sits level with the table, rather than slightly sunk into the table like I've seen at other KBBQ places. We adjusted our seats to get out of the smoke, so we we're good after that. I'd recommend bringing a jacket because it was a bit chilly inside (despite it being a full house with all the grills running). I only had my big bulky coat and was cold, but that's a lack of planning on my part.

James K.

Yelp
The name says grill, but what they excel at are the traditional Korean dishes - kimchee jiggae, eundaegu jorim, naengmyun, etc. We've had the grill too but it's hard to distinguish one Korean bbq place from another. What makes this place stand out is the traditional Korean dishes and their excellent service.
google avatar

Adam K.

Yelp
The Grill was recommended by another Korean restaurant that I frequent. So, I thought I would give it a try. And I am glad I did. I ordered gamjatang, a spicy soup with pork and potatoes. It was delicious! The pork was fresh, flavorful, and fall off the bone tender. The soup was rich with umami. And the side dishes were fantastic too. I especially enjoyed their freshly made kimchi and eggplant. There are Korean restaurants where service can seem rude and lacking but not at The Grill. The waitresses were friendly, attentive, and pleasant. It was a pleasurable dining experience. I would definitely go back!

Yelp
Pricey but the quality of the meat are very good... food taste good even the steam seafood. Next will go at 4pm for the grill seafood.. Service was good same as the ambience. Your clothes wont smell bbq when you go out the reataurant.

Yelp
Saw this restaurant being promoted on instagram reels, went to try it out and do not recommend. The food was mid, for $41 per person with an hour max you can be there. They don't offer any sides to the package it's just strictly rice and meat. When it came time to check out we split the bill among 3 people and they were adding extras when I tired asking why it was that price they hurried me and just said to pay and did not give me a receipt. I paid for me and my husband the total was $149... would not recommend for the basic meat/service.

Tawnie K.

Yelp
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Their servers know there's a 20% tip automatically added when there's six or more at your table, SO WHY WOULD THEY BOTHER GIVING YOU DECENT SERVICE?!! HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! They didn't offer to refill our water. Never saw a smile from staff. In fact, we had to approach them TWICE at their cashiers stand to request accommodations. They were more focused on smaller tables because they knew they were already guaranteed a 20% from us. Dumb move. We are extremely disappointed because we go out of our way to support new businesses. This place needs training on customer service. Even the owner/manager that runs this place looked disengaged. Very disappointed!

Yelp
Came here to Tacoma for Skills USA state competition and the whole team decided to eat here. We had decent expectations but were absolutely blown away by the ambience and overall look of the place. What really got a hold of me was the food. Absolutely the best food I've aten in a while and that alone is an understatement. If I come to sea-tac area with my family I will absolutely be stopping by here again. Absolute masterpiece of a restaurant.

George Y.

Yelp
Clean restaurant with nice decor friendly and helpful service. Food was good quality. Banchan was plentiful. Went for lunch, got the AYCE and order of Steamed Egg and Spicy Tteokbokki. AYCE - proteins was brisket, bulgogi, and sliced pork belly. - Soybean paste soup had jalapenos mixed in. Steamed egg was sweet and savory. Spicy Tteokbokki had a good heat but not overwhelming. Comes with fish cake slices and veggies. Pay at the counter at the end of your meal.

Yelp
Food was bomb! We went for finger and literally got everything we wanted the brisket was definitely coming back we had a large table of 9 and if was perfect cheap too. Definitely recommend this place meats/sides

Yelp
They have an "Okay" food score. This is my third time trying to write this review. So Imma try to get to the point. My husband and I were here last Friday on a date. I was excited because it's hard to go here with small kids who are picky eaters. We sat down pretty quickly which was good and I had high hopes. I generally avoid most Korean BBQ places because the service has been inconsistent with how attentive the staff are. I've been to this location a few times before the name change and I was hoping this experience would be ok because this location tends to be more accommodating to other races. I've experienced this at a few locations on South Tacoma way. I shared my experience with my family and that this location is generally unaccommodating to African Americans. I'm not saying this is the reason but I can make several strong arguments. I don't know people's motives or intentions but it was hard to not draw to this conclusion based on how others were getting serviced. Things started to go down fast once we sat down. We were not asked if we wanted anything to drink and they only gave water. I was trying to minimize that it's not a big deal, like it was late... Blah blah blah. A family of 3 adults sat down about ten minutes after we did and within 5 min, they had their drinks, meat, and sides. My husband didn't notice at first but once I pointed it out he was quietly frustrated. We ordered and we waited 15 minutes before anything came out and the party next to us was already eating their meats. I was timing and was about to leave when our food came out. The waitress laughed and said "long time" and I smiled in agreement. I was surprised to see the portions they brought out because it seemed inconsistent to the party that was next to us. But I minimized due to it being two of us and that this is an all you can eat. We didn't see the waitress for awhile and the few times she came I tried to ask her something and felt ignored. I'm thinking I was not loud enough but when another lady came by she helped us and I used the same tone. There was another time when the first waitress came by and she said we had too much food, cut up out BBQ and left. I was surprised because we didn't order anything else and our sides were not that empty and this is what we ordered off their combo . I asked for more fish cakes and rice, and once I got that, they turned off our grill. My husband said "I guess we're done" and I agreed ... So ready to go. It was so interesting because the party next to us was ordering more food and the next party was pretty much having food thrown at them. I'm not asking for world class service but this was not a good experience.

Dan M.

Yelp
Went to lunch with my mother on a Tuesday at lunchtime. The menu is pretty expensive for what it was honestly and when the pork cutlet came out i was pretty disappointed because the portions were very lackluster compared to surrounding restaurants as well as the quality of the meat was no good as well. The quality of the meat was extremely tough and stringy so that was kind of a letdown paired with the small portions. The service was nothing to rave about, granted that there was a large party of around 10 people but the servers were running around our table without really helping us when asked for. The ambiance is nice but small and thats about the only good thing I can take away from the restaurant. Also they have a grand opening sign even though theyve been open for at least 6 months.

R D.

Yelp
Lunch all you can eat AMAZING! Service was great. Grill was changed out 3x without asking. FLAVORS WERE SPOT ON.

Joe N L.

Yelp
Do not go here!!! Came here with my family for the first time. We did the kbbq $44. And let me tell you, I have to ask them for a menu a lot of times. The waiter kept telling us that they're bringing everything out in an order. Ok fine, but I want to see the menu that way I know what I'm paying for..and also the options!! So they know how to fill you up at first with the most cheapest meats they have before bringing out the good stuff!! They automatically gave us 2 full pans of cheap pork in the beginning and I never asked for it. i kept asking the waiter for the shrimps and steak/kalbi. But she wants to keep saying they're bringing everything out in an order. Let's just say we barely even ate/not worth it!! Meats are no good and have a weird taste/smell!! My daughter(10yrs)barely ate anything either and was charged $44. Becarefu when you order sides like japchae-I asked for it cause I didn't see it with the sides they gave us and I was charged 19.99 for it!!! They don't even tell you that is extra!! Oh they really know how to get you!! I'm sorry but I regret going to this place!! Never again!!!

Kam R.

Yelp
Food & service was good! We did the ayce and enjoyed the variety they had on that menu. I'd definitely go back & consider making this a regular spot for the fam.
