The Grill on Third

First time there last night celebrating our anniversary. The food was delicious. Our server was the absolute sweetest and very attentive. Atmosphere was perfect! Music was good, not too loud, even did a little dance in my seat a couple times, lol. We will definitely be back!

Sausage cooked too long. Had to cut it with a knife. Same for over medium eggs. Tasted like play dough almost. If the biscuits are buttermilk flavor as advertised please add the buttermilk. The gravy was ok but way too much pepper and take the seasonings away. Your location and menu suggest a better option than the local fast food stops but your food is trying to hard to be more upscale for where you are located. They were out of three flavors of Crown Royal(empty bottles on wall?) or the bartender was too lazy to look for more which seemed to be the case. The potatoes were actually seasoned well and tasted good. The portions are small enough you don't need to bring there plates to the table for the sides. Our waitress was fantastic and very friendly. We will give another try when in the area in future.

The vibe of this place is generally nice, a great place to come on the weekend. I wasn't thrilled with the burger as much as it was encouraged and recommended, I think it was too charred for my liking. I would say the one thing this place needs to change is their use of cleaner in the dining room. In between table service, the glass table tops were cleaned with a glass cleaner that was an aerosol; it had a very very strong smell which lingered.

Enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner. Our first visit to this restaurant. Our server, Kirstyn (spelling?) was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant was warm and inviting, tables comfortable and private. There is another fine dining restaurant in town with excellent food but almost impossible to hold a conversation because of the noise level. My petite filet mignon was perfectly medium rare, chilean sea bass and scallops were both excellent. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I decided to try The Grill on Third for our NYE dinner. The atmosphere was lovely and comfortable. It is clear the restaurant is trying to be a high-end establishment for the area. However, some things need to be improved. For example, the servers need to be trained much better. Ours was polite and friendly, but clearly had no knowledge about the menu. When she read the specials, she did not know what risotto, beef tenderloin, or gorgonzola were - and couldn't answer any questions about the menu item. We both ended up ordering steak, medium rare. Both came out well-done. It was still tasty, but definitely not worth the price. Lastly, the menus are flimsy and cheap looking. You would never expect the high priced menu items to be displayed on such an inexpensive looking piece of paper. Seems to be a simple fix if the staff and owners really wanted to make this place appear to be more than just a casual steak join (which the prices certainly reflect!). I expected much more. I'm not sure that I'll be back.

The Grill on Third was amazing! Our waitress, Kirsten, was fantastic—super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed the whole time. The cheese fondue was such a great starter, especially with the pretzel bites and bread. The ribeye was perfectly cooked, and the mushrooms and asparagus on the side really tied it all together. We also tried the scallops, and they were perfectly seared with a great sauce. Everything tasted incredible, and the service was top-notch. Definitely a place we’ll come back to, and we highly recommend asking for Kirsten if you go! This was a great way to celebrate our anniversary. Thanks again!

I am extremely disappointed with the service we received at this restaurant. My boyfriend and I had planned a special date night—he surprised me with a comedy show followed by dinner—which unfortunately was completely derailed due to the restaurant’s lack of organization and poor service. My boyfriend made a reservation over a week in advance for 5:30 PM, with our show starting at 7:00 PM. This should have provided more than enough time to enjoy dinner. We arrived a few minutes early, only to be told by the hostess that we would need to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated because walk-in guests were being seated before those with reservations. This defeats the entire purpose of making a reservation and is something I have never experienced before. While waiting, we were directed to sit at the bar. Despite the bar not being busy and having four bartenders present, it took over 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us or ask for our drink order. Once we were finally seated at our table, another 15 minutes passed before our waitress came by to bring water. At that point, she immediately informed us that we needed to place our order right away because the kitchen was backed up. We placed both our appetizer and dinner orders, but after waiting some time, we were told it would be at least another 45 minutes before our food arrived—meaning we would miss our 7:00 PM show. As a result, we were forced to cancel our food order and attend the show without dinner. What should have been an enjoyable and well-planned evening was completely ruined due to the restaurant’s disorganization and lack of urgency. To make matters worse, a manager never came by to apologize or acknowledge the situation. There was no attempt to make things right—not even an offer to take care of the small bill we incurred for two side salads and a drink. This restaurant claims to hold itself to high standards, but our experience fell far below even the most basic expectations of service and hospitality. We will absolutely not be returning, and I would not recommend this restaurant to others.

Went to this steakhouse hungry and ready for a good steak after class with a friend, and honestly the hostess was the nicest part of the entire experience. She greeted us warmly, seated us quickly, and for a brief, shining moment we believed food might actually happen here. Then we sat. And sat. And sat some more. For 20 full minutes we became part of the furniture on the corner. No water. No drink order. No “Hey, I’ll be right with you.” Just eye contact and blank stares from every server despite several of them being near our table repeatedly. At some point we started wondering if this was an immersive dining concept where you imagine the steak yourself. Because that’s the only meal we got. We eventually left dehydrated, confused, and questioning whether we had accidentally wandered into a restaurant where you seat yourself and then serve yourself spiritually. Great hostess. Absolutely nonexistent service after that. Would not recommend unless you enjoy role-playing as a ghost haunting a booth. -10000 Aura.

Enjoyed the experience. If 4.5 stars was an option, I would choose that instead of 4. Cause 5 is saying best of the best, and that'd be saying a lot for any place, so a solid 4.5 stars. The inside looks nice. I didn't get any pictures; other people probably included some pics. The waitress was excellent. The rolls that were brought out were good. Shrimp cocktail and stuffed mushrooms were really good. The brussel sprouts and whipped potatos were okay. The starters and entree-type stuff was great! The lobster tail was really good. The fillet mignon (medium-rare) was cooked right, and it had a good flavor. I can't speak for their other options, but this is at least a solid combo.

Food was good. For the price servings were a little skimpy. Extremely busy so service was a little slow.

Our first time was amazing! It wasn't busy so it was quiet and private. Ww love the decor, especially the art deco sconces. Our server was quick, attentive, and friendly. The food was all perfect. We started with a Caprese salad that was the best I've ever had. I make it home and usually prefer my homemade, but this is better. The tomatoes were ripe, the basil fresh, and that fresh mozzarella was amazing. The seasoning was spot on. The chicken Parmesan again the best I've ever had. The breading was crispy and well seasoned, and the chicken was juicy and tender. The pasta was cooked perfectly. My only complaint of the entire meal was the tomato sauce. It was pretty plain. I prefer some oregano and garlic but it wasn't bad. The Burger on Third was a great burger. Well done it was still tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. All of the toppings were fresh and crisp. Everything about our visit was perfect. I highly recommend this place

A nice upscale restaurant. The menu has everything from reasonably priced to quite expensive. They have a lot of carry out orders. I had the wedge salad. An excellent choice, so fresh. Will eat here again sometime.

Always Great service, great food, now open for lunch. I really like the new lunch menu! Large tasty portions and quick service. They have brunch Saturdays and Sundays with delicious brunch items like omelets made to order, chicken and waffles, so many items. I always know I'll get a great meal, craft cocktail, and such great service. . We are lucky to have such a quality restaurant!

We went to celebrate a birthday dinner here, this was my first time visiting. They are going for a more fine dining experience. Competing with other local restaurants like the Fredrick. The outside of the building and even the inside aren't that fancy though so it's a stretch. The food however was great, just very pricey. I had the filet mingon and did a side of glazed carrots which were absolutely wonderful. I wasn't as much of a fan of the Mac and cheese. Dessert was the crème brûlée which was also very, very nice. Would love to come back again.

We came here on a Sunday night for dinner. We made a reservation but we would have been fine without it because it wasn't that busy. It was a little dark in here, but I feel like a lot of steakhouses are dark inside. They were also playing music the whole time. Our server was nice and friendly. The second we were seated, the waitress brought us bread and butter. For the appetizer we got Cheese Fondue. That was really good. There was a good variety of items to dip in the hot cheese. We ordered Filet Mignon with loaded baked potato and salad. It was really good. The sauce on top of the steak had a good flavor. We also had the Ribeye with baked potato and salad. The Ribeye was fine. Our one complaint was that the salad came out at the same time as the cheese fondue. The steaks came out not long later. This made everything really rushed. Usually even if you order everything at the same time, they at least have some space between each course. They also had a lot of good dessert options but we were full and tired so in the end we didn't order any dessert. I recommend The Grill on Third. It was a good night.

Amazing food and service. Mark was an excellent server. Had the opportunity to speak with the chef, who was cordial and gracious. Definitely, I will be a repeat customer.

Love this restaurant! Great food for dinner and Sunday Brunch. They are one of the few restaurants open on Sunday! Yeah!

Great serving sizes. Good restraint for around here. I'd describe it as medium quality with good ambiance. Low consistency

We ordered Steak Diane, Beef Tips and the cheese fondue. The fondue lacked flavor and needed seasoning and the items included for dipping were lacking, ie. tons of pretzels and roasted potatoes and cubed bread, but only broccoli for a vegetable along with about 8 pieces of cubed beef. Both of our steaks were tough. We sent the Steak Diane back but struggled through the Beef Tips. This was our fourth time eating there and we've ordered the same thing each time but never experienced the dilemma we had on this visit. I must say that the glazed carrots and the service rocked!

The service was good. The ambiance was quiet and peaceful. The food was good. Home fries seemed like a half serving, added onions to mine. Looks like more onions than potatoes. I liked that they served fresh fruit with the meal. My daughter had the omlete with a side of truffle fries, and she said it was great. The food was fresh and tasted amazing! Enjoyed it. I'm glad we came when it first opened because it was crowded by the time we left.

This is one of the best restaurants that I have been to. The food is a little on the pricey side, but is well worth the price. This is probably my new favorite place to eat when I am come to Huntington.

The food was pitiful. Prime rib was disgusting. Hard on the outside, stringy, and still bloody inside even though I asked for medium. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was a joke. Four tiny mushrooms that were bland and served on 6 wilted spinach leaves. The drinks were the worst part. A very bitter blueberry margarita that was supposed to have sugar syrup I thought couldn't be any worse, but my husband's rum and coke was made with completely flat coke. The mashed potatoes were gross, tasted like horse radish in them. If I could give a zero rating, I would.

We celebrated our son n laws 45th birthday here and was surprised at how nice a place The Grill on Third was! The food and service were exceptional! Will definitely be going back!

Came here yesterday after Marshall graduation. The food was amazing! Service was excellent! I had reserved a table in advance for graduation celebration for 9 people. I asked for appetizers to be started before we arrived and they were on time and delicious. Staff were super nice and the food tasted delicious.

Food was average, despite being more expensive than expected. Service was good and we liked setting.

Have been twice. 1st experience was very good. 2nd was not so much. We were having good service. The owner came in and loudly spoke inappropriately to employees and negatively about customers.

Huntington is fortunate to have a restaurant of this caliber open for brunch! I've tried each menu item and they are all excellent!

Party of 6, seated almost immediately. Enjoyed Sunday brunch, great atmosphere, excellent staff! Will definitely be back.

Get the prime rib and eggs! You will not be disappointed. This food is primo. If you want a different taste with your steak and eggs get the truffle fries! Amazing!!!

The slowest Resterant I've ever been too. Wasn't servers fault but took 30 minutes for our salads, and over an hour for our entrees!!!!0

Everything on the menu is phenomenal! The service is on point! I don't know what music station they play, but it's always the best music at the perfect volume. This restaurant is EVERYTHING! We go for brunch on Sundays and wouldn't go anywhere else!! Highly suggested place to eat!

Delicious food, friendly staff, and nice atmosphere. It's more fancy and a little more pricey than your average joint but it's worth it for a nice dinner. They do have some great brunch options as well that are more of a cheaper and casual option.

My husband and I both enjoyed the filet mignon with herb butter. I had the truffle fries with Panko crusted macaroni and cheese for my sides. He enjoyed the baked potato. I would definitely recommend all of food and definitely the blackberry coco margaritas also. Delicious!!!

The food was absolutely delicious, I would have licked my plate if it was acceptable! The service was excellent, atmosphere- perfect. Will make this our destination when we are in town.

The food was REALLY good; BUT we waited over 45 minutes for our meal post appetizer. Definitely a bummer. They did have a large party which I figured the multiple orders at once put the kitchen behind. The steak tips with risotto & asparagus was top notch, I must say!

Second time wife and I have gone. Really good food both times. Excellent Jumbo shrimp cocktail this time and wife liked French onion soup. Salmon I had the first time was better than the Ahi tuna this time.

We had a horrible experience last night, 11/16/2024. It was so bad that we finally gave up and left without waiting any longer (over 45 minutes) for our entrees. We were a party of four who arrived at the restaurant at approximately 5:50 p.m. and, because the restaurant was not very crowded, we were seated immediately. We were two couples and we ordered wine by the glass, and one appetizer (spinach artichoke dip). We ordered light - only one french onion soup, a couple salads (one with steak added) and a ribeye steak sandwich. More than 45 minutes later we still did not have our entrees. Also, our waiter would disappear for lengthy periods to, as it turned out, go tend the bar! The only excuse for the lengthy delay of our entrees was that our food got "behind a large party of 20". However, this could not have been true as other tables around us that were seated after us received their food as we were still waiting. At 6:55 p.m. we gave up and my wife went to find our waiter and tab out. She found her behind the bar and told her we were leaving. She said she would check on our food, which she did, and voila, it was ready! It had obviously been ready for some time. We nevertheless paid the tab for our drinks and appetizer and left. We won't be dining at the Grille on Third again.

They have Phenomenal food and presentation with an even better atmosphere! The service is always next to none and they make you feel at home the moment you walk in! I highly recommend this restaurant to any and everyone. Whether it be a birthday, a date or just a night out this is the place to go when in Huntington!

The dry seasoning is amazing. Glaze is unique but compliments the natural flavor of the beef well. The filet came more well than medium well but was still very juicy, tender and flavorful. - Brussels sprouts - prepared perfectly with just the right amount of crunch. Seasoned excellently and cooked with bacon. Bacon was soft and not burnt. Pros: The atmosphere is pleasant and clean, a good first impression. Rolls are brought to the table upon arrival by a very kind, polite, and helpful staff. Menu items are similar to that of "fancy restaurants", much like the atmosphere. The prices, in contrast to the atmosphere, are more comparable to an Applebees. Certainly a win for those attending! I took note of a party room, likely available for reservation. Cons: During my visit many menu items were unavailable. Although this may be due to supply shortages and the overall state of the economy, a revised menu or a note of unavailable items would have made the experience better. Nothing ruins atmosphere and experience like ordering something and being told it's unavailable 2 minutes later. After 3 tries I was able to make a complete order, for things they had. The lighting seems spotty in places, however most won't be affected by this. The bread is very tough; it resembles a stiff foam or rubber texture.

The food was awesome! We had the filet and the seafood vodka! The Mac and cheese was amazing. The Smoked old fashion was a top notch cocktail!

So my boyfriend and I are usually disappointed when we go out for dinner. We had heard mixed reviews about The Grill but thought we would check it out. We both agree that it really was one of the best dining out experiences we have had for a long time! Try the sea bass, delicious! Smoked Old Fashion, Fantastic! Everything from food, service, and ambiance I rate 5 stars!

Went there for dinner last night. It was beyond bad three of us went there for a birthday celebration. The food was terrible we had fillet tips. The food was half cold and half warm. Everything was bad. Had to send it back. They returned about 15 minutes later with our food. This was the second time I might say it was just unbelievable and for the price we will not be back.
