Great food and drinks! Nice, casual atmosphere. Staff is friendly with quick service. If you are coming in for a drink, ask for a crush bucket - best in the area!

Google
Really nice Sports Bar type of place. Has outdoor seating also. Mostly subs and sandwiches. All the food was very good.

I really like this place a lot. The food is consistently good and reasonably priced. They make all their stuff from scratch which is great! The people who work there are friendly and down to Earth. It's nothing fancy but good old American style cuisine. Burgers are awesome, salads, sandwiches, etc. The fries are hand-cut and their onion rings are among the best I've had anywhere - don't forget the homemade Ranch dressing! Service can be a little slow at times but I usually call ahead and pick up stuff to go. I'd definitely recommend the Grille at Flower Hill. :]

Google
I LOVE this place!! The food is excellent, the service is very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere transports me to a place that feels like vacation! The outdoor patio is lovely for sitting outside and enjoying a nice glass of wine. My experience overall was terrific and I'll definitely be back. I would love to see some more "high end" wines, and perhaps a greater selection. That would be my only suggestion to make this an even greater dining experience.

Google
Great customer service. I ordered the chicken Philly. Food was fresh and hot and didn't take long at all. They were served with fresh chip made in house. Only downside, toppings were extra. Price was good for the quality of the food as well.

I came here on a Friday night for karaoke and I must say I had a great time. It was packed but not too crowded and everyone was relaxed and having a good time. We also ordered some fries and some lemon pepper wings and they were both really good. I will definitely be going back. Oh and shout out to Tommy for my drink. All I told him was that I wanted something sweet, he hooked it all the way up.

Google
Great burgers but no happy hour to my understanding just 1 or 2 bucks off beers. Was my first time there Patty was my server she was rude with me however I noticed her being a little more friendly with other guest. I’ll still be back just picking up my food next time the drink she recommended for me was terrible.

Google
I was ordering from them around once a week. The food is decent, but not worth the recent price jump they've had. They actually have a $26 burger on the menu. That's crazy for Gaithersburg, especially when one can get better burgers for a quarter that price nearby. $13 for a BLT? No thanks. Again, the food is decent, but I won't be going to The Grille in the foreseeable future.

Yelp
The food is awesome The food was awesome and the drink was good Thanks Ms Anna And thanks to trina n Sandra

Yelp
Ordered two kids burgers and the firehouse burger. The French fries are what drew me to this place because I was craving battered fries and these were spot on: the burger was so tender and flavorful. Both my boys love burgers and kept saying how yummy it was and that this was their new favorite place. The customer service was top notch. Ordering was easy and done online. I would highly recommend. We will def be back. Wish I had taken a photo of our food before we ate but it smelt so good we literally could not wait.

Yelp
Gentleman Jim's has been one of my favorite casual restaurants for a LONG time! I first ate there when they were located in the Twinbrook area of Rockville. I then followed them over to the airpark in Gaithersburg and now I continue to eat there in there current location in Flower Hill. We ate there last night and had the pizza. This is the main reason we go there. There is something about that sauce!!! It is a great balance of sweet and savory - it is thick and chunky with lots of crushed tomatoes. The sauce is the real deal here!!!! Are they a little light on the toppings? Maybe - but the sauce keeps me coming back. And we love the crust too. It is kind of yeasty, beer flavored and always crunchy. Gentleman Jim's really knows how to do pizza. Last night, Mariah was our server and she is great! Very friendly, very helpful and always had a great smile on her face. She anticipated our needs and took very good care of us! I highly recommend this neighborhood place!!!

Heather M.

Yelp
I've had Gentleman Jim's pizza many times before but never actually sat down in the restaurant until tonight! Shay was our waitress and she was awesome/so sweet! She recommended the fried pickles and they were heavenly. They have a great Happy Hour which we caught the tail end of. We got a California salad and a 12" pepperoni and meatball pizza. Everything was delicious and best of all, 8pm started a Live band and they were soo good! They have a general bar area and then high tops, regular tables and booths. All were filled by the time we had to go at 8:30. I will definitely be back for more in-person dining.

Yelp
My husband has want been wanting to try Gentlemen Jim's for quite some time now and since we were in the area, we decided to stop by and pick up a pizza. He heard the MoCo Show refer to the restaurant as selling the best Maryland Style pizza (which I think refers to the rectangular shape vs traditional round pizza) and we took their advice and got our 12" pizza with half Swiss cheese (that's the default cheese served) and half mozzarella. Neither of us like Swiss cheese, but we wanted to give it a try and I am so glad we only got Swiss on half. I could not stomach that half of the pizza and left it all for my husband. It was just too much for me between the Swiss cheese, the sour and almost wet texture of the dough and the overly sweet sauce. Back to the dough (maybe it's fermented dough. I thought I had read that somewhere but can't find it now), the tall crispy crust was pretty nice, but the dough was dense and I wasn't a fan of the taste or texture. The pizza was very greasy. Expanding on the sauce, I wasn't a fan of it either because it was so very sweet and was reminiscent of ketchup...I know it wasn't ketchup, but it reminded me of it due to the sweetened flavor. This was a to-go order, but I wanted to mention a band was setting up to play as I was getting my order (so that's cool, I am sure, for patrons dining in). Also, GJ has a loyalty program as well where customers can earn points for coupons and get a promo for their birthday as well.

Megan A.

Yelp
Ordered Deb's bbq chicken... the bun was so burnt it was disgusting and inedible. Usually they're decent but why have a sandwich when you can't even eat the bread..

MaryLou B.

Yelp
Shoutout to our local community heroes! Jen was a very personable server. She was very helpful with getting our appetizers , drinks, and entrees to us fast and easy. The nachos were loaded with all the best toppings! Chili, peppers, tomatoes, olives, guacamole, sour cream, gooey cheese, and all atop of crunchy chips! We also had perfectly cooked lemon pepper wings! Jen got us ranch and bleu cheese dips... yum! Our fluffy crusted pizza was amazing as well.. I had them add our favorite pizza toppings pepperoni, Italian sausage, spinach, jalapeños, fresh mushrooms, and of course the gooey cheese! No room for dessert... but it will need to try next time! Jimmy Buffet (we miss you already) was playing on the live musician ! Football season opening day was so fun! Go team!

Yelp
I've been coming to GJ for about 10 years man it is slowly going down hill. I use to order their pizza almost twice a week and now it's getting worse and worse by the week. I just ordered last weekend and I told myself this will be my last time ordering pizza here. They are being so skimpy on the toppings, especially if you're going to double charge for the bacon you soon put an appropriate amount not a pinch here and there. A pepperoni on each square of pizza is so ridiculous because they did not so that in the past. I'm just so disappointed with this place, I hope they considered to do something better with their pizzas and bring back the old traditional pizza they used to mastered.

Matthew F.

Yelp
I ordered a beer, a mixed drink and a burger. Somehow those three items are a $47 bill. How? The burger was incredibly overcooked. How is a beer $15? The mixed drink was $14. Nothing was good, it was mediocre. It's priced terribly. The band playing that night was pretty good, but you can't talk to anyone you go with since that's all you can here. I may have complained about the drink prices considering they hide them from you, but didn't want to wait 40 minutes until they came around again. I left the place very annoyed.

Yvonne B.

Yelp
This is a very popular restaurant with outside seatings, music playing in the background and occasionally they have a live band. It was my very first time visiting this location with several friends here to listen to the live band, and my friend Abi referred to the group as the gogo band. Basically, they put their own spin on different genres, the lead singer is fun and overall a fun group. The food portions are great, and the drinks are great, and the service is good their wait staff is very busy catering to all of their inside and outside seating patrons. Everyone is nice and friendly and overall a friendly atmosphere. I recommend this establishment if you're looking for a diverse place to hang out with your friends or significant other. I'll definitely be back when the band is playing again. FYI! Reservation is recommended when the band is performing

Brieanna S.

Yelp
Jesse was a an AMAZING bartender/server. She was fast, efficient, and her drinks were FANTASTIC! The music is TouchTunes so you can control it. The drinks are cheap, the food is affordable, and the quality is definitely worth it. I'm here right now and this is the first thing I ate today and HAD to do a review while eating. Give Jesse a raise because all 11 of us out in the area right now are extremely happy customers

Chris P.

Yelp
Brooke & either Erin you get at the bar are going to treat you to a special time. Jess, Bruce, Ana, Mckenzie, etc. no matter who you get at the tables it's a wonderful time at Jim's. You can take your co workers or your kids to a HH at Jim's. Brunch has good options so Sat or Sun are also good days to go.

Denise O.

Yelp
This has been our neighborhood go to for years. Food is always good. Love the burgers, salads and of course the pizza! It's busy in here. It's worth the wait.

Anna R.

Yelp
Excellent service and super tasty, fresh food! The cavalier style pizza is really good with the surprising twist of using Swiss cheese!

Taryn I.

Yelp
This place is AWESOME! It's a great little neighborhood spot. The servers know guests by name and the seem to enjoy their jobs and the food is delicious!!! I had the Crabby Fries and the were absolutely amazing! I've been there several times and no matter how busy it is, the food and drinks continue to flow without a hiccup. I really enjoyed the band as well. Gentleman Jim's is a great place to hang out with friends and just enjoy the vibes. They get a 10 in my book.

KimberlyRose F.

Yelp
I love their strawberry salad. But when I just ordered it through door dash, my added chicken was not on my salad nor anywhere in my bag, which left me very disappointed. Great restaurant and will continue to go here!

Andrea S.

Yelp
Don't get a burger here, it's tasteless. Not seasoned well at all. Needed a lot of ketsup.

Jasmine G.

Yelp
This is a large take out order experience. My co worker recommended this place and mentioned this is their new location as they were somewhere else the first time they opened. This is an American menu and they had a variety of items on their menu. I got to try a chicken bacon sandwich on a brioche bun and that was good. But it needed some bbq sauce. Just a little dry. But their pizza was good! The crust was perfect too! My manager had their salad and she said it was good. My other co-workers orders a burger and fries and they said it was really delicious and they had no complaints. The staff was so nice too! Aaliyah was the host who assisted me with my large work order and she was friendly and continued to let me know when my order was complete and ready. Will I come here again? For sure! I haven't tried their happy hour drinks yet! Haha

Wes M.

Yelp
Live music and good food. Easy parking. Awesome staff. Very clean. Will be coming here a lot. Got a gift card for Christmas which let me know this one existed. Grew up going to the one in Twinbrook.

Gary R.

Yelp
I love the idea of traveling to a neighborhood restaurant. There is great ambiance both indoors and out. The food, drinks and service is incredible!

Wilbur D.

Yelp
Been eating there since twinbrook days. Last night had a pizza. Server asked how it was. We said good but perhaps a little underdone, they offered to cook it longer, we declined saying food was good crust just not crispy. As we were getting ready to leave our server brought out a second pizza at no charge. As usual service was great and they go above and beyond to keep their customers happy.

Kyle L.

Yelp
third time eating pizza this week and I'm not complaining about it This pizza place has been around for decades. My dad used to go here after his high school basketball games and drink w the wrestlers (tb to when 18 was the legal drinking age ). They're most known for their pizza but their burgers are also great. The pizza sauce is on the sweeter side, and I absolutely love it.

Soph F.

Yelp
They do not care about the community. They have bands playing on their outdoor patio in a residential area. There are hundreds of people that live around them. They care more about the 10 or 20 people that may be sitting out there than the rest of us. Be a good neighbor.

Amy S.

Yelp
We have been going to this place for year, carry-outs and dine-ins. They recently relocated to Flower Hill Way. We are known to go to a place twice in a day which is exactly what we did today- lunch by ourselves and then dinner with friends. Service was great and food was delicious. We wanted sandwiches so we ordered a turkey club (w no sides) and tuna melt w fries. They were called something else on the menu. Both hit the spot. For dinner, the group ordered 2 from the specials, a surf and turf burger and pork belly burger. Both very satisfying. The fried chicken sandwich also was delicious. The GJ's Chicken Fiesta - the chicken breast was a little on the dry side but the cheese and mushrooms were great additions to the dish. Love the new location. Looking forward to try other items.

Kevin F.

Yelp
Unique and excellent pizza. Can't find this pizza anywhere else. Good selection of non pizza foods like sandwiches and salads. New location is great . Our friend ordered a gluten free pizza but the location was out of the needed ingredients. They gave us a gift certificate to compensate her. Great service and client oriented staff. Outside seating available

Tee C.

Yelp
This is my rating for my first visit, I do plan to go back and try something else. I ordered a pizza I believe with 4 toppings which apparently is a combo! I'm thinking I may get fries and a drink for $20, nope! If you get more than 2 toppings it's considered a combo smh... Not just due to the price but I didn't like the taste overall so I will not order a pizza from here again. It wasn't bad, I just didn't care for it.

Chanel C.

Yelp
This place is hit or miss for me. When I go in person, it's great and everything is super tasty. However, every time I have gotten delivery, things have been either very cold, not cooked enough, or just overall bland tasting. I'm not sure why that is the case. But if you choose to eat here, I'd recommend eating in person over getting things delivered.

Kat V.

Yelp
Got carry-out from here. Me and my family used to come here a lot when I was younger. Really good pizza! No complaints. The sauce isn't as sweet as Ledo's and the crust is super thin. Fettuccine Alfredo seemed to have a lot of black pepper and was alright, just a little bland. I wish the alfredo had a bigger portioning, it was one half of the box and the other half was stale bread. Definitely a great place to have pizza but not the best for alfredo.

Vicki M.

Yelp
We really enjoy eating at Gentleman Jim's and especially like the outstanding service provided by Tora (Victoria) who always goes above and beyond to make our visit pleasant. We always ask for her to serve us. VM and her friend MM

Jenny T.

Yelp
Thank you so much Gentlemen Jims! You helped us celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary today. Everyone loved the food. Drinks were great. The service was wonderful. The space was beautiful. Thank you Ana, Medina and Patty for making my parents day extra special. Thank you so much!

Linh P.

Yelp
I have been waiting for this place to open!! I know there's another location but Uber eats failed me in the delivery. Anyway, the pizza is extra fresh since we don't live that far. Normally I only like to get thin crust so I was unsure how much I would actually like this pizza because its a thicker crust than most places but I love it. The amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings were perfect for me. We also ordered the crab fries and they were really good too! I did wish there was some more topping on them or if they had something other than ketchup for dipping, but since I ordered it for home I had a array of sauces to use. I've never had such a good pizza place near me, this is going to be bad for my pizza consumption.

Kaylee S.

Yelp
Went for date night on a Wednesday night and the place was pretty crowded. Our drinks and appetizers were very good but the rest of the food and experience, not so much. We rarely saw our server and was left with empty drinks pretty much all night. My partner got a steak with onion rings (which came out cold). His steak was over cooked and was really dry. We would've told our server about this but never saw her until it was time to get the check, that was the only time we ever really got any attention. While we were waiting for the check, my partner and I watched two separate tables get free drinks - one of them being brought out by our server. Now I'm all for that because it's a good business strategy. However, when you have a pretty terrible night with barely any service and meh food, it feels pretty bad. Needless to say we will not be going back.

Kris G.

Yelp
We ordered food from here for carry out. We live 5 minutes away. The lasagna was lukewarm, even cool in the center. The cheese on top wasn't completely melted. The garlic bread had very little butter/garlic so it was pretty tasteless. Their marinara sauce is extremely sweet. It was difficult to eat the pizza and the lasagna; in fact, we didn't finish either due to the sweetness. The portion size was very good considering the price. The side salad was decent. We will try this place again but will not order anything with a marinara sauce.

Vanessa S.

Yelp
Friendly service, the food was great with generous portions. My raspberry salad with salmon was fresh and delicious. Fun neighborhood pub type of atmosphere.

Jeanette B.

Yelp
Great food - fun music today. Bruce our server was top notch - positive attitude and wanting to serve and care for our needs. Very refreshing - was nice to see him again!

Kevin S.

Yelp
It's tough to beat GJ's pizza or cheesesteak. Their use of quality ingredients, such as shaved ribeye on their cheesesteaks makes a huge difference. The bartenders will make you feel like you're in your own basement bar, and might even bust your chops a little. Very friendly neighborhood bar. I've become a regular there for just a couple months and I've already become friendly with the staff. I'm not much of an extrovert, but do like to be out and about occasionally, so that says alot!

Kevin S.

Yelp
Food was very tasty, we had the wings , chicken sandwich, and fish and chips and service was outstanding! We will be going back to try the burgers and other items . It was our first time there and very impressed.

Claudio S.

Yelp
The food was delicious and well as the quick service of the staff and I enjoy the relax kick back ambience of the location

Lucy H.

Yelp
Came to this place wanted to try it out. No service even come to ask us if we want a water for 30 minutes. And the food took more than an hour to make. Then my steak was so over cook that it was like rubber bands. Overall not a good experience

Gloryann B.

Yelp
Today I experienced a very welcoming ambiance, great customer service and amazing food. Everything was very delicious we ordered de crabby fries and mozzarella sticks for starters and some mimosas and then we ordered the French toast, omelette and chicken and waffles.

Mike M.

Yelp
the pizza has been changed. used to come for the thin flakey crust. now the crust is more like something you'd expect with a frozen pizza. it is literally over a half inch thick. this is not the gentleman jims cavalier pizza they were serving for over 50 years. it's not good. I saw they were offering a gluten free crust for the 10 inch pizza so maybe they have started using a frozen crust for all the pizza. it is a shame, jg used to have the best, most unique, always dependable, pizza. Gentleman Jim's was the first place my family ate at when we moved from Ohio. and the last place we ate after our parents died and our house was sold. I remember it like it was yesterday but that was 1967 and 2017. I suppose all the good things don't last. what a pity.

Harris H.

Yelp
We live in Germantown, so we rarely are over in that area and have forgotten about this restaurant. We used to eat her a long time ago and always liked it. My stepmother mentioned it the other day and we decided we would go back. What a great experience. Service was great, although it was slow so there wouldn't be any excuse there. My wife ordered the Jenna's Roast Beef and could not stop talking about how good it was. I ordered the Reds Italian Cold Cut, and it was very good. We both ordered French fries and I think that was the star of the show. They were amazing, almost as if they were double battered. Mine were forgotten when my order arrived, but the server had them to me in literally under a minute. I am so glad that we went back after all these years, and we are going to make this a common occurrence now.

Melany W.

Yelp
I've had the pizza and fries countless time and they have never had a bad day ! This pizza is extremely unique, if you like focaccia bread you will love this pizza. The service is usually good, every now and then they tell us the kitchen is closed at different times but no big deal ( we tend to order out late sometimes haha ) overall it's a great experience.

Samantha L.

Yelp
Earlier in the day, I saw a Facebook ad telling me they were serving Corned Beef and Cabbage special on St. Patrick's Day at Gentleman Jim's Restaurant located in Flower Hill where the Grille at Flower Hill used to be. They have happy hour Monday to Friday from 3:00pm-7:00pm, which features complimentary pizza of the day with drink purchase as well as heavily discounted domestic beer ( both drafts and bottles), rail drinks, and shelf drinks. In addition to happy hour, they offer discounts if you're a first responder (15% off your bill) and senior (10% off your bill). They also offer weekly specials including BOGO 1/2 off pizzas on Monday's, BOGO 1/2 off burgers on Tuesday's, 20% off pasta entrees on Wednesday's, kids eat free with one paying adult on Thursday's, and 10% off your bill for seniors on Sunday's. When I arrived, I was sad to find out they ran out of their Corned Beef and Cabbage special. Since we were hungry, we decided to have dinner at Gentleman Jim's. Gentleman Jim's is a restaurant and bar that has a neighborhood vibe. They serve appetizers, salads, soups, burgers, sandwiches, and subs, pizza, pasta, entrees, and dessert. Because the kitchen was closing soon, when our server Lisa H. came by, we put in our food and drink orders. I was a bit surprised that while we waited they did not offer anything to munch on - no chips and dip or bread and butter. For drinks, we had two rounds of Angry Orchard, a shot of Tequila, and a shot of Jameson for each of us. Since my friend was allergic to seafood, I solo-ed the Crab Dip, which was served with toasted and sliced pretzel rolls. It was creamy, light, and quite tasty. Since my friend was on a keto diet, he had the California Salad, which consisted of romaine lettuce, tomato, egg, bacon, red onion, cucumber, and chargrilled chicken and served with a salad dressing of your choice (in this case, thousand island). Since I was craving corned beef, I had to get Kevin's Classic Reuben Sandwich. It consisted of lean, sliced, and stacked corned beef, sauerkraut, melted swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing on a grilled, thick-cut, buttered rye bread and served with kettle chips. The corned beef was tender and flavorful. It's the best Reuben Sandwich I've had in the DMV.

Courtney H.

Yelp
I love thin crust pizza. And a server name Madina told me to order her go too pizza. It's a gluten free pizza with Italian sausage, banana peppers, fresh garlic and jalapenos. I'm in love with this pizza. I have it twice a week now. Thank you Madina.

Scott A.

Yelp
Saturday is the end of a long week. We've decided to go out or to have food delivered (pandemic safe food) on Saturday's. In the rotation - a new place Gentleman Jim's! Overall the food was good. 1. chili was awesome 2. chicken salad pronounced excellent 3. fries were excellent. 4. Crab dip was ok, i have had better 5. Pizza was found good. 6. Deserts, for those that got them were found excellent! Overall good food. I bet the atmosphere at the place is amazing. They also did a great job packing the food so that it arrived in great shape!

Brenda B.

Yelp
This is a really cute little place. The food was good and the customer service was great. I went for brunch, but will probably return to view the evening activity.

Erin S.

Yelp
I was going to Gentleman Jim's (keyword: was) on a weekly basis for trivia... up until last week. Service has been very slow each week, the staff have forgotten my orders on multiple occasions, but I've let that all slide as I know everywhere is short staffed these days.. though judging from these reviews it seems like it's been a long-term problem. Some food is good (pizza, wings), some of it not so good (reuben sandwich, happy hour cocktails). Must be one of those places that you had to grow up on in order to be fond of it. But anyway here's the kicker: I had been calling to make a reservation each week to make sure we had a table for Tuesday night trivia. I called last Monday night as usual, all was well. Then, the manager calls me Tuesday afternoon to let me know that unfortunately, the person who took my reservation double-booked me with a table that "has a standing reservation on Tuesday nights" Okay.... so what? "well, they come for trivia" So do we!! "I'm sorry I'm going to have to cancel your reservation." The manager had NOTHING to offer me, no additional accommodations, no coupon to come back, no guaranteed reservation for the next week, NOTHING. I couldn't believe how poorly this situation was handled and I absolutely will not be coming back. Do better y'all.

Jarrod S.

Yelp
Far from the original. From the odd teal and yellow paint on the walls inside, flat beer, and odd atmosphere. The only resemblance to the old Gentleman Jim's is the pizza. Sad to say we don't have to come back. Different crowd, different service, no thank you

Teresa L.

Yelp
Went here for dinner with some friends, one of whom very much wanted a good steak. This place was recommended to me some time ago, although I cannot for the life of me think why. The beer list is minimal (best option was a DFH 60 minute). There is not much for vegetarians; salads and pizza are the best bets. Pescatarians will be fine and if you like gigantic meat stuffed burgers and sandwiches this is the place for you. I had a crispy spicy shrimp appetizer that was quite nice. Two of my dinner mates had the cheesesteak sandwich and they both licked their plates clean. My other friend liked her pound of prime rib and almost made her way through the whole thing before she had to throw in her fork and give up. I opted for the fish and chips and sad to say it was fairly disappointing. Not much fish, too much breading, and very little flavor. The tartar sauce was basically mayonnaise. The fries were just OK IMO, but it is fair to note that my friend liked them enough that he got an extra order. The wait staff were friendly and efficient and were nice enough to do five separate checks. The outside dining area would be nicer if it were better shaded and the music wasn't so loud (they did turn it down on request). There is a full bar and plenty of parking. Overall, not horrible, not awesome, somewhere in between. I might have liked it better if I'd ordered something different...
