Now visitors to the museum can take in an exhibit and enjoy a charcuterie board, salad, burger, or, of course, grilled cheese and tomato soup. Very nice service. They have a vegetarian substitute for the soup in the grilled cheese and soup combo. Both the grilled cheese and the soup were delicious. My friend had the regular tomato soup and liked that as well. The milk shakes were delicious and made very quickly. Very nice portion size. I got the special peach cobbler milkshake and it had peach chunks in it with pie crust crumbs on top of the whipped cream. Great milkshake for a hot summer day. Love the diner aesthetic of the place.

I recently stopped by for the first time after seeing your restaurant recommended by Guy Fieri, and I wanted to share a bit of feedback from my visit. The grilled cheese was really good—rich and flavorful—though I did find it a bit overwhelming at times. The soup, on the other hand, was definitely delicious and paired nicely with the meal. I also want to highlight the excellent customer service. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout, and I’d rate the service a solid 10/10. Thank you for the experience—I’ll be happy to visit again and try more of what you have to offer.

Google
You HAVE to give this place a try Would give this place 6 stars if I could! Best grilled cheese sandwiches I’ve ever had. I usually don’t believe in buying grilled cheese since most restaurants charge way too much for something I could make equally at home, but this place proved me all wrong. Came here a year ago (I’m from Texas) and since I had a layover in Nashville, I took an uber out just to have this restaurant again. Ordered the pimento mac and birria grilled cheeses. These sandwiches had an unbelievable crunch and a buttery, savory, cheesy, flavor-bursting interior. Paired with a heart warming homemade tomato soup and insanely delicious Dubai chocolate milkshake. Service was also awesome, was met with friendly smiles and warm welcomes. Also got to meet the owner who took the time to serve us and chat with us. Only thing wrong with this restaurant is that it’s not in Texas yet! Don’t miss out on this hidden gem 🥪

Google
Order at the counter, pay before you eat style, and food is brought out to you. I have been waiting to return to Nashville so I can go back to the Grilled Cheeserie to get a Pimento Grilled Cheese. I tried this place 3 years ago when I was passing through Nashville on my way to Texas. I loved the grilled cheese so much I had to stop again on my way back through Nashville. Thankfully, the quality and taste of the food has not changed since my last visit 3 years ago. Which is an unfortunate common situation. Everyone in my party ordered something different, so I was lucky enough to try a bit of everyone’s food. As I said before, I got the pimento mac and cheese grilled cheese, it was the perfect blend of all flavors. Others got the classic grilled cheese which had massive cheese pulls, and chicken pesto grilled cheese. They have a milkshake bar with a variety of flavors, the restaurant is designed in that classic “old school diner” style. The milkshakes were big, they even give you the extra that doesn’t fit in the mug. Everyone in my party had raving reviews which only confirmed that this place has not changed. Will be looking forward to coming back here on my next visit.

Google
This place is INCREDIBLE!! So many options and choices and so tasty!!! Some of the best grilled cheese and tots I've ever had and the staff were super friendly and helpful! Highly recommend!!

Google
Great place to eat if you are in the mood for a grilled cheese sandwich and cup of soup. We ordered the Grilled cheese and soup combo for $12. Classic grilled cheese and tomato soup. It was really good. I ordered the roasted red pepper tomato soup. Loved it!! Fresh squeezed lemonade was wonderful. Not too sweet and definitely lemony. I will totally eat here again and recommend it. They also have milk shakes. We ordered the Peanut butter cup milkshake. The parking lot across the street is a paid lot if you are over an hour and a half.

Google
Amazing experience from beginning to end! The cashier was super sweet and friendly! The restaurant was clean and very cute. My food came out quickly and was hot, fresh, and delicious!😋😋 I got the classic grilled cheese and tomato soup combo. Good music playing. Great vibes! Great ambiance! I would definitely come back.

Google
Got the Dubai chocolate milkshake, and it was delicious! It wasn't overly sweet, which is why I like it. The pistachio flavor and chocolate taste so good together.

Yelp
Awesome amazing beyond all expectations. It was a random first stop in Nashville, because we were starving. I have zero regrets. It was one of our favorite meals on our trip. The Peanut Butter Shake was amazing!!
google avatar

Lindsay M.

Yelp
Delicious mac n cheese but definitely overpriced. One mac n cheese bowl, one sandwich, and two milkshakes will cost you $50. The sandwiches are also pretty small and the milkshakes are hit or miss depending on who makes them, which is really sad because I know how good they can be. Street parking is limited.

Yelp
Service was absolutely terrible. 20 minutes for a chicken sandwich - and they still couldn't get it right. Here's a tip - when someone orders a sandwich without pickles, scooping them off at the service window in front of them doesn't really cut it. That giant green stain on the bun? Yeah, that tastes like pickles.

David R.

Yelp
I have been going to this restaurant ever since it opened. You have always had the ability to create your own grilled cheese sandwich. Listing the choices in a logical manner. Now they have changed their menu and it is incomprehensible. I asked for a hand held copy to try understand my choices they now offer and was told the only version was on the wall. They no longer have a choice of hamburger patty and I could not determine what cheeses are now available. I will not be going to this restaurant.

Yelp
2024 Update: Still just as delicious. The only thing that could make it better is if they had a parking lot so we don't have to worry about being towed when the paid lot is full. Fairly quick service today for our To-Go order. Decor is still bright and clean.

Yelp
The Grilled Cheeserie has been one of my very favorite restaurants in Nashville for the past 3 years! It is absolutely DELICIOUS and offers a wide range of menu options (although I have personally ordered the same thing for the last 3 years - Make your own melt with Rosemary bread and pepper jack cheese!). The dining room is also super cute and cozy with lots of different seating options for big or small groups. Street parking right out front is free as well as a free parking strip a street over (with other free street parking options available in various places). Whether you're a tourist or live in the city, this is the spot for you! Definitely my go-to whenever I want a delicious and affordable grilled cheese with some hearty tomato soup. Don't miss out - Try it today!

Yelp
My first stop after touching down in Nashville. My colleague and I had a bunch of options to choose from but I immediately gravitated towards The Grilled Cheeserie because of the name. A place that specializes in one of my favorite things is the place for me. I didn't scan the menu too long before choosing the Buffalo South option with a side of Birria Totchos. I honestly couldn't resist! Our food came out quickly and our order was correct. The sandwich was buffalo blue cheese perfection and the Birria Totchos were heavy but so flavorful. It became pretty busy after we sat down and received our food. Cute space but not for a long dine-in experience. You kinda just eat and leave. Which is fine by me!

Yelp
It's wild it's taken me so long to try The Grilled Cheeserie! I'm glad I finally got to try it! After a great morning playing at Centennial Park a good grilled cheese and tomato soup is just what we needed! We all built our own grilled cheese with a soup of the traditional tomato soup! My kiddos had the pb&j and the mac! We also ordered a banana milkshake and the cold brew tiramisu! They even had a cart full of little toys for kids to play with! It was especially cool because they were wooden pieces where kids could build their own "grilled cheese"! Great customer service! and DELISH food!
google avatar

Kassie L.

Yelp
Was a little disappointed the fruit cup didn't have pineapple & oranges as the menu stated, but I guess the strawberries made up for it. The grilled chicken sandwich was delicious! Peanut butter cup milkshake was also great, but super rich so couldn't drink the whole thing.
google avatar

Samantha R H.

Yelp
Quick service and diverse menu! The parking is always a nightmare, but the food made it so worth it! Grilled cheese should be considered a delicacy by how intricate they make theirs ! Also, their shakes are well-blended and taste amazing ! As for the restaurant, there's plenty of seating and a pretty open view of the kitchen. Always always always recommend this stop!

Yelp
While visiting any city, I want to try restaurants that I've heard about or seen on TV and this was one of those. The Grilled Cheeserie was on DDD so we wanted to give a try and it was a good grilled cheese. It had a very homey, southern feel to it inside and the staff was friendly and helpful when ordering. I had the pimento cheese macaroni and cheese grilled cheese( that's a mouth full) it was delicious. My daughter had the grilled chicken pesto melt also super cheesy and very tasty as well. We had the tater tots with it, also very good. It want super busy, but it did take a while for the food to come out, and for the price I guess I expected slightly larger portions. When it comes down to it, it was a tasty sandwich and I would eat there again, but next time I'm in Nashville I'm going to try something new.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food truck fare. Loved the grilled cheese sandwich and hand crafted chips. An excellent addition to our neighborhood food truck offerings. We will definitely order again!
google avatar

Zoraida K.

Yelp
Great tasting sandwiches! I had the one that au just and it was delicious! Keep in mind they come without any side. You have to order those separately. Shakes look good!
google avatar

Tina C.

Yelp
Amazing! Got here close to right when it opened so it was less busy than around meal times. Ordered the pimento mac and cheese grilled cheese and roasted red pepper tomato soup. Both were fantastic. Definitely greasy and heavy, but rich and tasty. A good portion size for two meals in my opinion. The space has a good amount of seating and is connected to nearby restaurants. Parking may be tricky but likely feasible, as street parking and the pay to park lot get filled up pretty quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here because the wait at the pancake pantry was long. What a miserable ripoff. The people are lazy, and predictably the service was horrible. It was $71 US DOLLARs for Mac and cheese, 2 drinks, and 2 grilled cheese sandwiches?!! Unreal. The portions are miserably small. No parking for miles. Skip it.
google avatar

Tessa G.

Yelp
Very good grilled cheese sandwiches. I tried 2 different ones and they were both amazing! I don't think you can go wrong!
google avatar

Paul J.

Yelp
What a fun place! We stumbled upon the Grilled Cheeserie while walking through Nashville and it totally hit the spot. The ambience was bright and fun, the staff were very friendly (and patient as we couldn't decide on anything). The tater tots and the vegan coconut shake were on point, but the standout for me was my pimento mac & cheese sandwich and the tomato soup. Each time I dipped my sandwich in the soup and took a bite, I savored it as much as possible. A mix of flavors in every bite: regular grilled cheese from my childhood, pizza sauces, pimento sandwiches, mac & cheese, all wrapped up in a single bite. I would definitely visit again!
google avatar

Jess N.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of enjoying a "Pimento Mac&Cheese" and my boyfriend grabbed the Smashville Burger! Both were amazing. We enjoyed a nice window spot with our meals. Staff were also nice upon arrival. Will be back for another visit !

Jill E.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst grilled cheese sandwiches we have ever had. I can't even believe that this place is still open. Also the tots were so bad I can't even say how bad. Spend your money anywhere but here!
google avatar

Tammi W.

Yelp
Finally made it The Grilled Cheeserie. One on my "definitely wanna try list". We got three sandwiches and tried them all. Pimento Mac and Chee. Pizza Melt. Buffalo Sputh. Had Roasted Red Pepper Soup. Peanut Butter Milkshake. Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake. We're both full!
google avatar

Jenna A.

Yelp
Oh my gosh. This was to die for! The grilled cheese and tomato soups are beyond delicious. Unfortunately I ordered this to-go so I didn't get the overall experience of eating it in the building. It did look solid inside though! The real kicker was the pickles. Oh my goodness, I am still thinking about them as I do not live in nashville. They were the best pickles I have ever had in my entire life. If someone knows the recipe, please hit me up, I will pay they were that good!
google avatar

Terrie D.

Yelp
Visited here because of DDD. I had the pimento mac & cheese grilled cheese. The mac & cheese looked and tasted like left over's, it was very dry. My daughter did a build your own, and said it was delicious. We also had the homemade potato chips, they were stale and some of them were way over salted. I don't live in Nashville so I won't go back. But if you love grilled cheese maybe try it and build your own. It may also be important to note we were the first customers and in fact did get leftovers because fresh wasn't yet available.
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
The food was pretty good, a tad bit salty. Prices were not super high. Very trendy student. Service was efficient.
google avatar

Kenneth R.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch on the way to Vanderbilt. The menu looked good. We had the meatball melt and the birria melt. For a place that specializes in grilled cheese, this place missed the mark. The birria melt wasn't "birria" it was roast beef. The meatballs in the meatball melt were lacking in flavor and there wasn't much cheese in the sandwich at all. We also had both of their tomato soup offerings, the old fashioned and the roasted red pepper. They were both tasty and better than either of the sandwiches. Two sandwiches, two cups of soup, two cups of water = $40 Not worth it.
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
I ate from the grilled cheeserie food truck at an event. And I must say, it was one of the best food trucks I have ever had!!! The pimento mac & cheese melt, and the quesabirria melt were both delicious. The cheesy and regular tots really added to the sandwiches. Every bite was so savory and delicious! I will most definitely be coming to the actual restaurant because the menu is bigger and I'm sure it's more delicious (if that is even possible) And to top it all off, the prices are not bad at ALL. Already thinking about my next meal here!!
google avatar

Haley B.

Yelp
We came here for a calm dinner while we were in town. If you love all things cheese this is your place. I got the Mac n cheese with chicken, bacon and breadcrumbs and their cheesy tots. They were great for the local shop. The service was quick as you ordered at the counter and then they bring it to your table. The decor and was super fun and welcoming. They had their own merch which was fun!
google avatar

Tim G.

Yelp
Cool food truck with some unique and tasty grilled cheese options. I opted for the "B&B of Tennessee", which features white cheddar, local bacon, caramelized apple shallot jam on multigrain bread. The flavor combination was good overall, though the multigrain bread gave it a bit of density that felt like a mismatch. I'd probably opt for something with their sourdough bread next time. They do have a build-your-own option, so you're not limited to the standard options on the menu. I also had the tomato soup, which was very good. The person taking orders was super friendly, and the staff in the kitchen seemed on point. Oh, and I learned afterward that they use only compostable packaging, which is a nice move. Overall a good experience with great grilled cheese options. I do recommend going with your heart and creating your own custom sandwich rather than opting for their creations.

Lori R.

Yelp
My chicken was way overcooked. But that wasn't the reason I am writing a review. Our friends were with us and ordered first. Our food came cold after sitting on the counter for a long while. Our friends didn't get their food. We waited a few minutes and then went to the counter to ask and were told that so many people in front of them ordered chicken that they ran out. Yet we ordered second and got our food. We finished our meal and then they finally brought out 1/2 of their food. The server was unaware that they were even missing half of the order. Lack of attention and responsibility of workers was evident.
google avatar

Clyde C.

Yelp
My co-worker was in town and saw the Grilled Cheeserie on the Food Channel or some some food show so, he was excited about trying it out. I was not familiar with The Grilled Cheeserie so, I was anxious to try something new. The menu selections was good and I went with the B&B of Tennessee with the Buffalo Tater Tots. I was not impressed with the sandwich and I thought they were too heavy handed with the grilled onions. But, to be fair I will have to try this restaurant again and try another option with my grilled cheese.
google avatar

Richard V.

Yelp
So I had the food truck quite a few times and was excited to check out the restaurant. I'll be honest, and I wasn't a huge fan. The grilled cheese is just fine. They aren't anything groundbreaking. I also wasn't a huge fan of the milkshake either. Totally overpriced and wasn't grand. It's such a generic place that feel so overpriced for no reason. You can make this stuff at home for a fraction of the price as meer minutes. We went during lunch on a week day and it wasn't busy at all. Overall, okay, nothing special and maybe a one-time experience, but otherwise don't see myself coming back.
google avatar

Amy P.

Yelp
I really loved this place! The bread was crunchy and cheese was super melty! I tried a milkshake which was SO TASTY!! Also the tomato soup....I would eat that weekly! Definitely worth checking out!

Austin J.

Yelp
Four of my friends went to this place and the consensus of the grilled cheese among the four of them was that it was awful. I ordered the chicken tenders which seemed like a foreign concept to the workers, then they messed that up, but what upset me was how rude they were when I had waited 40 minutes for some tenders and they were extremely rude to me when I asked for an update. When they handed me the bag, they asked if I wanted ranch or ketchup, I asked for both, and gave me neither. It felt like this place had no urgency rectifying an error on their end, and I can be sure that I, or anyone else that I know, will never be dining at this establishment again
google avatar

Kelli J.

Yelp
Not exactly what I had hoped after hearing about this place. I created my own with chicken and pepperjack cheese and onions. It was good but not more than you would expect. The tomato soup was very flavorful and spicy but too much that I couldn't finish it or just have it alone without the sandwich to dip. Did not try the shakes so may give another shot.
google avatar

Emma T.

Yelp
This is a nashville staple. I always get the cheddar on rosemary sourdough with a side of tots and a cookies and cream milkshake. I know it is a lot of dairy - but it is absolutely worth it. I usually go to the location in hunters station. You'll order at the counter, then pick up and find a seat. They also deliver to most places in the city. You can design your own grilled cheese but they also have several great menu options. The French onion soup sandwich is delicious. They have tator tots with cheese that should not be skipped. They are really gooey! The plain ones are great too. You can get a sweet treat with one of their milkshakes. They have a couple of boozy options that are fun but their classic flavors are my favorite. Yum!

Reese C.

Yelp
I've been here a few times now and the food is consistent. I like how you can customize your grilled cheese. I would recommend the parmesan crust!
google avatar

Keith J.

Yelp
The sandwiches and bowls are great. I wanted to order everything on the menu, I did order a sandwich AND a bowl with no regrets having leftovers. Make sure you save room for a milkshake, because they are incredible--I didn't have one, but my friend did and she gushed over how good it was!
google avatar

Amber P.

Yelp
Ok. Ok. Ok. Hear me out. Grilled. Cheese. But, way better than you remember your moms grilled cheese from years ago. I wish I remember what I ordered, I only remember the deliciousness that graced my lips that day. I do know I got tomato soup also. I also got a cherry coke float. Which was good, but it took me a minute to fall in love. It was served with Coke Zero, and I'm a Coca-Cola 100% kinda gal, so I had reservations. But, none the less it was good. Also, my husband who is super picky and hard to please enjoyed it
google avatar

Ami A.

Yelp
Who doesn't love grilled cheese?!? They have tons of unique combinations and make your own. Since I was on my own eat my way through town tour I opted for a kids meal. It was a perfect size for a snack mini grilled cheese and a cup of delicious tomato soup. Totally a great spot for lunch on the go or with kiddos.

AM C.

Yelp
Food and service are great. My daughter's fav food is grilled cheese and she loved it so much, she bought a Grilled Cheese sweatshirt.
google avatar

Logan K.

Yelp
We arrived at opening on a Sunday, unsure of how busy it gets. We were the first ones there and were welcomed by the entire staff. It never got busy, but there was a steady stream. I had the Pizza Melt and my wife the Pimento Mac & Cheese. Both sandwiches were incredible. They nailed the cooking technique of delivering a gooey middle layer of cheese and fillings with a perfectly toasted exterior that also had cheese and pepperoni. The restaurant offers a decent view of foot traffic along the street and is a clean an inviting environment. The breakfast places were quite busy as we arrived. I'd suggest avoiding them altogether and giving a new spin on grilled cheese a try.
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were randomly watching Food Network, discussing what we should have for dinner, when Guy Fieri suddenly comes on talking about The Grilled Cheeserie. We looked it up and were surprised to see it was a full-blown restaurant instead of a food truck. Since it was an only 20mins from where we were staying, we decided to give it a go. We went back 4 times in the course of 3 weeks. On the last night before we left Nashville, we picked up 2 sandwiches each (one for the road) and drove to Centennial Park by the Parthenon to eat. 1000% worth the calories. I would fly/drive back to Nashville for their grilled cheese alone. We recently had a friend move to the Nashville area and we kept telling him he needed to try it out even though he's "not a grilled cheese person." Long story short, he went and has since gone back every weekend. Make sure to get their tater tots! I have no idea what seasoning they put on it, but I could eat my body weight in those tater tots. It's also located by a bunch of shops, so you can walk around to burn off all the calories after.

Shayla C.

Yelp
Birria grilled cheese was so delicious. I highly recommend this place, so tasty and different
google avatar

Emma B.

Yelp
So delicious! I LOVE grilled cheese and this place did not let me down. So cute inside! The menu features different options for grilled cheeses' ... not just your average american cheese on sour dough. This place gets creative. There are different sides to choose from! I am a fan of the tomato soup with my grilled cheese! I have also have the chips with onion dip and it was good but I still prefer the soup! The tater tots are a fun option as well! I have had the pimento mac n cheese.. this was delicious. I have also had the spinach and artichoke which is quite good as well. If you're not sure what to get.. go with the pimento!
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in Nashville! I like that you can get a specialty grilled cheese or make your own. The spinach artichoke is my fav but I think it's seasonal. I wish they had it year round! Tater tots are crispy and the tomato soup has a lot of flavor. Staff is always friendly. I also love how the plates, utensils and cups are compostable.
google avatar

rachel n.

Yelp
My friends and I were craving grilled cheese and tomato soup for lunch so we got the grilled cheeserie delivered. The prices were average and the sandwiches were PACKED with cheese. The tomato soup was 10/10 and perfect for a rainy afternoon.
google avatar

Marc T.

Yelp
First time here. Met with a nice employee that took orders and answered questions. Order at the counter and then take a seat. No peanut butter for milkshakes and no Diet Coke (disappointing for part of our group). Party ordered Buffalo South and B&B Tennessee with homemade chips and tots, and a cookie to go. Also had cookie and cream milkshakes. Sandwiches and chips were good. Very disappointed in the amount of cheese sauce for the extra cost. Didn't have enough for chips or tots. Milkshakes were amazing and cookie was ok. Would go again, especially for a sandwich.
google avatar

Byron U.

Yelp
The tomato soup is soooooo good! It's cool enough to eat when ordered but hot enough to warm you up! Try that with a Diet Coke and you're all set. I also recommend the Quessabarria Melt!! So good. The people are friendly and there is plenty of seating for the crowd. It's a cool trendy spot in midtown.

Adam R.

Yelp
Poor service. The main reason we came to this restaurant was for their macaroni and cheese, but they were out of macaroni, so our visit was pointless. This was our first time at this restaurant because we live out of state. While I was asking / commenting about them being out of macaroni, one of the employees came off as rude with their reasoning. I understand about being busy, and short on food supply, but a business should do everything possible to get a substitute item. If a business is completely out of a main item like macaroni, then say something immediately after we walk in and not 5 minutes after we are staring at the menu and begin to place our order. We did decide to leave and go somewhere else, mainly because of the poor customer service.

Mikayla K.

Yelp
Very mid. The texture of the Mac and cheese was kinda sticky - almost like gluten free noodles would be. Wasn't a big fan of the soup. Atmosphere was chill and very casual. Tables were dirty. Staff was nice enough. Just a very average experience. The menu was deceiving and gave a slightly upscale feel, but it's definitely not that. Pretty bland and boring. Definitely overpriced :\
