The Ground Coffee, Plants & Gifts

I went through extensive research trying to find a coffee place with seasonal offerings. Although Elixr and other such coffee spots showed up on my search, I hadn't realized that such coffee spots were chains, which i try to stay away from. So I landed on ground coffee. Although located a good distance away from downtown Philly I made the trip, and it was worth it. I went with an iced cinnamon toast crunch and a hot sugar cookie latte. I devoured the iced cinnamon toast crunch, it was so smooth and the flavor was perfect! The sugar cookie came out okay, very nice coffee flavor but not as sweet or flavorful, maybe it would've been better iced. The decor and ambiance is very cute and organic. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you really wanna try some flavorful lattes

I’ve been to this cafe a few times and each time is enjoyable. Every employee I’ve encountered myself with has been kind and pleasant. The vibe is really nice and the Halloween decor is so adorable. I mostly go for their matcha which taste very high quality.

Went today for my birthday 11/30 . I had jasmine tea it was so delicious and soothing. I got a few plants and a scented candle. The music 🎶 was calming (Jazz) . Good place for a study,work, or reading📚.

Hands down my favorite coffee spot in the area, I walk from girard with my pup for a coffee and a treat as often as my schedule allows. I’ve never had a bad coffee (iced rose pistachio is my go-to) and the staff are always so friendly! I always bring my out of town friends and family here! Please bring back the t-shirts! They were so cool and perfect additions I would add to gifts.

Super cute Philadelphia coffee shop with a wide array of succulents and house plants that are pretty reasonably priced. They’ve gotten a lot of fun mugs, knickknacks cars, and it is probably one of the better cups of espresso I’ve had in the city. Definitely recommend.

I went in for a boba tea and a hot chocolate with my mother today on 12/28/2025. This was the worst experience I’ve had with The Ground Cafe. I’ve never been the kind of person to use race against anyone but upon entering the building I saw a group of Caucasian presenting women. They placed their order and received it quickly. I wait my turn and then place my order. As I’m placing my order I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable because I notice the worker looking at me a bit weird. I finish ordering (two drinks), my mom pays for me and even leaves a tip. A Caucasian looking man orders after us and as we’re waiting he receives his order before us. Someone from the group of ladies walks up to the register and adds to her order. She receives her item before me. Two more orders were placed before I even got my boba. Thankfully a women that was waiting for her order realized that she picked up the hot cocoa that belonged to my mom. The hot cocoa was cold. The worker never let us know the chocolate was done and didn’t even notice that someone picked up half of our order. Now the lady that accidentally picked up our order got her stuff and was also being treated poorly. Now you may wonder why I said anything about race, my mother and I are very Hispanic looking women. The lady that was mistreated was a black women. The worker seemed to be Caucasian or very Caucasian passing. The only bad experience I’ve had with this place which sucks because it’s the only place I get boba from. Looks like I’ll be retiring boba.

The atmosphere is chic. It has a lot of character. I ordered a hot chocolate with oat milk. It was tasty. The service was great. They were patient with me before I placed my order. The made my order quickly. Cute space to visit.

Definitely super aesthetic and adorable inside, but not my favorite in Philly. Came here mainly for the boba, which could’ve been better, but a decent price! Really big menu too which is nice! Hopefully it’s better the next time I visit.

The cutest plant shop boba tea parlor ever! Not going to lie when my friend mentioned the combination I was both a little perplexed and very curious to see what this entailed. Upon arrival the love poured into the each pot and plant were clear. The thriving greenery and creative boba flavors encapsulated a dreamy store concept, it transported me to a literal urban jungle. Loved it! The boba and drink choices ranged from caffeinated to non, teas, coffees, boba options, more than 2 dozen flavored syrup options. The house specialty bubble teas were really special--I had the rose pistachio avocado tea base (non-dairy) and it tasted like drinking a piece of rose pistachio baklava--novel and unique. My only gripe is it was waay sweet, I prob should've asked for less sugar, though I didn't see this option offered. My friend ordered the lunar new year blue dragon drink which was coconut milk with butter pea flowers which gave it a blue coloring. The staff member working the front counter was friendly and helpful. Didn't see restrooms though it's a pretty small spot (8 seats only), so most of the customers aren't lingering long here.

Lovely coffee shop! Quite a small space but very well decorated, making the shop feel inviting, bright and spacious. Both baristas were friendly and attentive, they made great latte, highly recommend the "Nice" latte from the special menu. The Ice Chai latte was a bit too spicy for my taste, but if that's your vibe, it's a great choice.

Why did it take me so long to find this place?! Now I have a new cafe to visit when I'm at the Clay Studio. Ive always loved the concept of plants + coffee so I was super happy to visit The Ground! I tried out their Iced latte and strawberry croffle! They have a large drink menu plus a decent dessert/food menu. Also there are three table of two seats indoor with a bar area of 4 stools. Plus I think one to two outdoor seatings! I can't wait to come back for more

This place is so cute! We ordered a couple pastries and the oh mommy sandwich and everything was so good. They had a decent selection of pastries to choose from. The sandwich was so unique and delish, definitely a must try. I got an iced PSL which was also good. As per the name, they have a ton of plants and cute pots and mugs, etc. They also allow dogs inside! If we weren't walking a mile home with our pup I definitely would've walked out with a new plant. We'll be back!

Lovely coffee shop with the concept of combining coffee, boba, and plant in one place. Every plant you see in the store is on sale. They also have a nice selection of pots against the wall that you can pick out for your plants. It wasn't busy when I visited in morning on a weekday. I think the location isn't most ideal since not a lot of pedestrians around but if this coffee shop was to open downtown, it would definitely attract lots of traffic. I thought they would have overpriced plants because they look so pretty but they are actually fairly affordable prices. I got a snake plant and I'm so happy with the purchase! I wish they get more business - this coffee shop is wonderful!! I highly recommend everyone to come check it out whether you love coffee, boba, or plants!

Absolutely fantastic experience. Casual. Low key. No pressure. My friend and I spent 2+ hours there, 2 days in a row and felt totally welcome to enjoy the sunny seating, lovely plants, and delightful staff. Special shout out to Nick who was just the most positive, engaging human. The pastries and coffee drinks were yummy. Highly suggest this sweet little spot.

What more could I ask for! Gorgeous, thoughtfully priced plants and accessories and the most fun (and lactose-free; thank you) bubble tea. This is oddly specific, but probably the best blueberry popping boba I've ever had. And I had so much support in choosing some not-easy-to-kill little plants. Just a really lovely place that does what it does beautifully.

This place is great. The chairs, decor and plants give an inspiring, cozy vibe. They have a great selection of plants, pots and other plant related goodies. I had a vanilla oat milk latte that was really good and the Oh Mommy Umami sandwich was delicious. There is not a lot of seating but if you get there early and snag a spot it's a great place to work from. I believe they had Wi-Fi but I used my hotspot instead. The music was good and the employees were nice. Loved the plant wallpaper in the bathroom too. Would come again

My friend had been telling me about this place for months and I finally got to try it and it did not disappoint. I've now been 5 times in 2 weeks. They have a great menu selection for drinks and food! I've been hooked on the S'mores iced latte and the avocado and raspberry bubble tea. I've tried several pastries and they are great, as well. Great service and fun gift items.

I was so impressed with this place! Not only do they have coffee but they have a variety of teas and other delicious options. The shop itself is also adorable with a perfect set up to study and fun plants and planters. The barista was also very friends and accommodating. Definitely check it out !

Just stopped by this place today and the coffee is amazing! We got a lavender cold brew (barista recommended - did not disappoint) and a caramel cold brew. also a great spot to get plants! They were very informative of the plant care on the plant I purchased. The owner & staff were also very nice. This business is a great addition to the city and I would highly recommend to anyone in the area!

This is theeeee coffee spot! One of the best lattes I've had in the neighborhood for sure. The staff is so sweet and they always remember my partner and I's coffee order, which really makes me feel welcomed. And the shop itself is gorgeous with all these well-cared for plants. Loveee the ground

We stopped here this morning for a last minute bday present and a latte. The latte was perfect. OATMILK was super frothy the black sugar syrup was sweet but not overwhelming. And I picked up a cute little succulent and pillow case for a last minute work gift. 20/10 recommend.

I've been anxiously waiting for The Ground to open up and I was not disappointed. Great coffee, yummy bubble tea and so many lovely plans! I would recommend this business to anyone that needs a yummy drink, new house plant or a gift!
