The Grove Bar and Grill

A friend and I enjoyed lunch here during Restaurant Week. My steak and cheese egg roll starter came with piquant sauce which made the entire combination inspired and tasty. My friend's gazpacho was reported to be as good as her own. My goat cheese strawberry salad came atop more baby arugula that anyone could hope to eat but what I did eat was delicious. My friend's very large turkey and Munster cheese on sourdough was made tasty with the avocado and mayo. The fresh made large potato chips were a delicious accompanyment. The key lime pie actually tasted of key lime and made for a refreshing dessert. A place worthy of a return visit.

The Grove has soooo much potential!! But it just falls short. -The inside is absolutely beautiful!!! -Spacious tables with a large bar. -Friendly staff. BUT… -It seems the staff needs more training. While they were very friendly, they were not the best at getting orders correct. It was only about 50 people in the entire restaurant (not busy) but they seemingly couldn’t keep up. -The bottomless mimosas…one glass at a time AND they take your glass to the back for refills. Imagine having your glass mixed up with someone else’s. -Orders kept coming out incorrectly. -We were given another party’s food. When we advised the waitress, she apologized and proceeded to take the food from our table and give it to the correct customers. A BIG NO NO! We were there for a good friend’s birthday brunch so we didn’t make a big deal about the errors but they definitely need help/training before I can comfortably suggest this place to others. I didn’t even record all of the food because the presence (and the taste) wasn’t up to par.

The Grove Bar and Grill is a fantastic spot for a delicious meal and a great atmosphere! The food was fresh and flavorful, with every dish prepared perfectly. Dining at The Grove felt like stepping into a hidden garden oasis, surrounded by vibrant flowers and lush greenery. The warm, thoughtfully designed interior added to the charm. We loved the Ferris Wheel Fries, crispy, fun, and delicious and the jambalaya was a standout, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Friendly staff and a magical atmosphere made the experience unforgettable.

The Grove is truly one of those places that gets everything right. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, stylish, and inviting—perfect for a relaxed evening or a special night out. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, and the service throughout the restaurant was attentive without ever feeling rushed. A special shoutout absolutely has to go to Julia, the bartender, who made our experience unforgettable. Julia is exceptional—knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what she does. She took the time to recommend cocktails based on our preferences, and every drink was perfectly balanced and crafted with care. Beyond her skill, her positive energy and welcoming personality really set the tone for the evening. She makes everyone feel comfortable and valued, which is rare and so appreciated. Julia is a true standout and a huge asset to The Grove. We will definitely be returning, and sitting at the bar again is a must. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food, great drinks, and outstanding service.

Me and my lady stopped by for lunch while building a roof in POTOMAC. It’s our first time here. First, we started off with a cocktail old-fashioned, which was done well by our bartender. And the steak and frights were amazing. Asked for a medium, and it came back so juicy Cooked to perfection. I wish other restaurants can learn from them. The Bible was quiet and beautiful. My new spot whenever in POTOMAC now during construction. Our waiter/bartender deserves a promotion. This young man represented the place well.

Went here for the first time for happy hour on a Monday (it was not busy). The service was TERRIBLE. I sat at the bar, no one even greeted me for at least 5+ minutes until finally a woman walked back and asked me what I would like to drink. Then my friend arrived (still was not handed any menu’s at this point) and they asked my friend what she wanted to drink. We had to ask for menus. Later, my friend asked the bartender for water, never got it and she had to ask 2 other staff until the 3rd person finally poured her a glass of water. We ordered the deviled eggs which were delicious, but I was extremely disappointed with the bartender service. I will probably give this place another try, but it probably won’t be for awhile

The Grove in Potomac is truly a gem. What they’ve done with the space is incredible—it’s warm, inviting, and beautifully designed, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal. My go-to dishes are the chopped salad and the honey walnut salad—both are fresh, flavorful, and consistently excellent, proving that simple dishes done well can really shine. Add in the live music on Thursday nights, and The Grove becomes more than just dinner—it’s an experience. The atmosphere, food, and music come together to create an amazing evening that feels both elevated and comfortable. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual meal or planning a night out, The Grove never disappoints.

The Grove MD - Prime Rib, Jerk Wings, and Great Service! I've had the pleasure of hitting up The Grove MD twice in one week, and each visit left me wanting more. First was a Wednesday night for their prime rib special, and then I came back for Happy Hour on Sunday. Two different days, two different vibes, but both times? Solid. Let's start with Wednesday: I had the 16 oz prime rib special for $37, and wow -- they nailed it. Juicy, tender, and cooked to a perfect medium, just like we asked. It was exactly what you want when you're craving that melt-in-your-mouth steak. But, believe it or not, the real standout of the night was The Real Reuben. Crispy toasted rye, packed with flavorful pastrami that was perfectly seasoned -- honestly, one of the best Reubens I've had in a long time. Amy was our server, and she was polite, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of. The place was pretty quiet, which made for a nice, relaxed dinner. Then came Sunday's Happy Hour, where the vibe was a bit livelier. We sat at the bar, and Jenna was our bartender. She held it down like a pro, even after a shift change. We ordered wings -- the jerk wings and garlic habanero. Both were solid, but if I had to choose, the jerk wings definitely had the edge. That spice, that flavor -- they were just more my style. The garlic habanero was good, but I preferred the punch from the jerk. Both times, it wasn't too crowded, which meant we got great service and could really enjoy our meals without any rush. If you're looking for a place with good food, a chill atmosphere, and excellent service, The Grove MD is it. Whether you're craving that prime rib special or want to hit up Happy Hour for wings, this spot delivers.

The ambiance was very vibrant and floral, I loved the amount of cherry blossoms and flowers that decorated the restaurant! My husband came here on a stormy weekend for dinner and we were seated fairly quickly. The menu isn't very large and we ordered the scallop risotto, chicken sandwich, and French fry wheel. We were pleasantly surprised with the scallop risotto. It was pretty good with the risotto not-too-soggy and flavorful and the scallops were juicy and tender. My husband also enjoyed the chicken sandwich. The Ferris wheel French fries, however, were disappointing as each cup of French fries were supposed to be a different flavor but they all tasted the same. The fries did taste good, but nothing much better than McDonald's fries that could have justified the $12 price. It was also super cold in the restaurant even in summer, the man next to us was in a North Face jacket and he even commented that it was too cold. However, my husband and I still had a nice dinner and enjoyed the decor and our entrees.

The Grove is an aesthetically pleasing restaurant in Potomac, Maryland. The lunch/brunch menu is standard American fare. We were a party of three friends. We ordered crab dip appetizers, steak and eggs, and hamburgers and fries. The fries were delicious. My friends enjoyed their food. I didn't. The staff were friendly and attentive. A variety of music played. The vibe was cool, but the air was not. The air conditioning didn't work on the side we were seated in and that's not acceptable in 90+degree temperatures. I felt like I was having a hot flash the entire time we were there. This could be a very successful restaurant with some improvements. UPDATE: I got very ill from the burger I ordered.

Was disappointed The Grove transitioned from an upscale Mediterranean restaurant to an American bar and grill and sounds like the shift has sparked mixed reactions among customers. The spot replaced Lahinch Bar & Grill and now it's not bringing anything special to draw people to the back corner of Cabin John Center. It was pretty empty on a Friday night. There is ample free parking at the main shopping center and a few around the back by the "main entrance". The layout and seating process was ridiculous. Entering from the side entrance closest to the main shopping center parking, I was told to walk across to the host stand by the main entrance around the back, only to be seated near the side entrance again. The place was nearly empty, they should just have two host stands or have the waitress seat me first and ask the hostess to bring the menus later. Also we didn't realize we stayed past closing for 25 mins (closing at 10pm on a Friday night for a "bar" isn't a good sign either) but as we thanked the workers on our way out, we saw someone say "thank you FINALLY" - if they checked in and reminded us of the time, we would've left sooner! The recent shift to an American bar and grill has led to a more conventional menu and I understand the business decision to shift to a more affordable concept based on some reviews, but the food was subpar. Ambiance was nice and I'll give it a 4, service was a 2, but food was also a 2 unfortunately based on value (taste vs cost) - see photo captions for review. Doubt this concept would work either, but the decor reminds me of many Asian spots, so I would recommend Vietnamese fusion since there's already a Thai and Japanese spot in this shopping center.

Took the wife here on a spontaneous date night with the kids out of town. Reservation said only outdoor seating available and it was like 105 heat index but we took it for a little later in the evening hoping it was tolerable. But when we got there there was plenty of seating and the very affable hostess offered indoor seating. Huh. I bet a bunch of people are not coming because of this. Anyhow we got drinks at the nice marble bar from the nice servers so fine. Yes cocktails are amusingly small here. Fine. They make them well. On to dinner. Tables are also amusingly small but fine. They have a fairly small menu, no specials (this was Saturday night by the way), but I often find that a good sign. We got the celery root hummus because the wife's gluten and dairy free and we suspected that things might be slow coming out. It was no lie the best hummus I've ever had. Roasted garlic, good salt, not much if any lemon and the celery root (I guess) kind of tempers the usual chickpea and tahini flavors. Nice big chunks of veggies and some pita. Excellent. Mains were rockfish and roast chicken. Now rockfish is a local specialty here in Maryland but it's actually hard to cook well. Kind of a freshwater saltwater hybrid with an almost off texture, like a wet flake, and a flavor that's more bland than mild. So this was also the best rockfish I've ever had. They got a nice sear on the skin, left the moist texture inside and put it on a fresh pea-herb puree. Oh and dropped a roasted lemon half to squeeze. Again just right on the salt. Wife enjoyed her chicken which she has a lot--meaning they nailed that too. Overall I hope The Grove makes it in the weird and expensive restaurant scene out here. They are very nice and have sorted out the service issues noted in other reviews--at least for us. I'm just not sure they know quite what identity they're after. But that's...fine too.

Nice ambiance with fresh eats and nice presentation. I got the scallop risotto and the grilled chicken sandwiches and I can say 10/10 for sandwich and 8.6/10 for the scallops. Chicken sandwich was slice thin with a nice sear but still juicy with crisp onions and smooth Munster cheese. Scallops were fresh and plump with a solid bed of risotto. All in all, service was nice and ambiance exquisite for a nice touch. Highly recommend

Saturday Brunch: Nice atmosphere, attractive interior and comfortable outside seating. Praise unfortunately ends here. Not sure how they plan to earn a Michelin Star when the hostess carries glasses to set the table by sticking her figurs inside, a big no, no that any experienced server knows. The Reubens sandwich was so-so, with the bread so saturated in butter or oil it made it hard to taste the meat. Dressing for the greens was much too sweet for my taste. The eggs Benedict with salmon was ok, but the dish was drowned in so much Hollandaise sauce I really want to ask the people cooking, what are you thinking???? Disappointing wine list offering only low end wines, so I refrained from having a glass despite wanting wine with my meal. Serve good and professional. I really wanted this place to be better as it's close to where I live. Oh well...

This is such a cute spot! I came here for brunch with friends and the ambiance made a great Saturday morning brunch spot. We had a very friendly waitress and we all enjoyed our food. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and a lavender cocktail. Both were great.

Came here for brunch with bookclub. We were a group of 3 adults and 2 kids under the age of 5. Our server was fantastic. I didn't get his name but a dark-haired man with glasses. He took time to explain the menu and gave honest feedback. Two of us got French toast, which was delicious. One person ordered duck contif, which she said was a hit. The la Reina gin drink was the groups favorite as we all got one. The Old fashioned with duck fat was described as flavorful with earthy notes. We also shared sausage, breakfast potatoes (not pictured) and side of bacon. This place was a pleasant surprise and the decor was cute. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to experience delicious food in friendly environment. I'm hoping to go back and try dinner.

Beautiful ambiance 5/5 Service was great, as well 5/5 Food & cocktails - 4/5. The portions were small for some menu items, specifically the cocktails. I was shocked by the size of my pink cocktail when it came out in a small glass (my photo makes it look normal size - not sure if content wise, it's regular but it definitely looked smaller than other cocktails) I really enjoyed the veal cheeks appetizer. I had the lobster ravioli- taste wise, it was just okay for me. For dessert, we had both the tiramisu and the cheesecake (I would say it's more like Basque / Spanish cheesecake style, which I personally like but the super cheesy taste isn't for everyone especially if you were thinking it was going to be more traditional American style cheesecake).

While the decor and music make for a lovely ambiance, some of the design elements seem a bit exaggerated. All in all a good, relaxing spot for after work, brunch, or a date. The service is responsive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Accordingly, I afford excellent marks in this regard. Likewise, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there is a happy hour offered here; something I used to expect but am now shocked by whenever encountered, given restaurants have largely changed in light of economic considerations the past few years. With that said, I could tell that a lot of the ingredients are in the above average to greater categories. Execution and bringing it together, however, miss the mark. The dishes have interesting concepts and seem cohesive on their own accord, but in bringing it together, something is missing from each and every dish I ordered; some less so than others. Out of five, I will say that each individual item garners a score of between 2.7 to 3.6, with a median of 3.2. My comprehensive satisfaction of the food, altogether, would hover around 3.3 to 3.45, with the high marks going to the oxtail and chorizo; and the anchor scores to the potatoes and shrimp. The shrimp lacks flavor or anything "extra" to elevate it, and the potatoes are bland, basic, and rough. I am greatly saddened as the chorizo and oxtail are on the precipice of being great but for a few missing important elements. Likewise, the main course I ordered, paella for 2, is overcooked, lacks seasoning and flavor, very unidimensional, lacks adequate juices, and is oddly portioned. I would wager that as being a 2.95 to 3.1 at best. All in all I'm quite saddened as I was immensely looking forward to the experience, being a fan of Mediterranean cuisine. I may give them another try as the place is new and may have potential. My recommendation to the restaurant lay in my quibbles above. To others, I would encourage visiting at least once. Definitely get the oxtail and chorizo; they are not only unconventional and more unique, but were prepared best on the occasion I visited.

Food was simple but good. Ferris wheel fries seems an every-table-must-order item. Flavors were there but not overpowering. Service was quick and professional. It's a great place for either small or big group gatherings.

We came here for my friend's birthday, and the staff were super nice and friendly as they provided a free dessert and checked in on us without really bothering us. We stayed here for hours in this cute and pretty place on a perfect day. We tried a bunch of entrees and appetizers, and I would say that the menu doesn't have many options and the food is a bit overpriced for its value. The food was good enough, but it's not equivalent to the price. I think we're basically paying for the nice vibes. I did however most enjoy the crabmeat dip. The fries ferris wheel was also super cute.

Had lunch here today in their outdoor dining area. The decor inside and out is very boho-ish and I loved that. Our waiter Noah was great but the hostess literally never came out to give us menus and we were there for like 15 minutes I had to go inside and ask her for them and yes she had already seen we were there! Then oddly given it's a family restaurant they were playing very loud strip club rap music with people moaning. I swear ..... I was so shocked. I asked them to turn it down otherwise we would have left it was so vulgar. We had the Blossom Burger and the Reuben Sandwich. Both were very good and the portions were fine but the fries were cold.... Tasted good but just cold.

Wow! Haven't been so impressed in a new place in awhile. Excited to add this to our rotation of favorite local restaurants. Croque monsieur: 5/5. The egg, bread, cheese, and ham were heavy but just the right amount and ratio with the generous and fresh side salad. Bone marrow: 5/5. Omg sooo delicious. Soo umami. The bone marrow was heavy like the croque monsieur but was balanced so well with the light bread disks, quail eggs, and generous salad. Part of me wanted just one more bone half, but another part of me was happy I was given this "responsible" amount. Honey apple and strawberry basil drinks: 5/5. Fruity, refreshing, not too little or too much alcohol. Service: 5/5. Very attentive, friendly. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner. The serving sizes were just a healthy amount -- I think on average smaller than a typical U.S. restaurant serving but not so small that you'll be dissatisfied. Enough that you'll want to come back and not feel guilty or bloated ordering dessert on top. On wow, I usually am not impressed with dessert, since I don't have a big sweet tooth. But dang. Truly every item we had knocked it out of the park. I so appreciate the thoughtfulness that went into each dish, its ingredients, ratios, and flavor palette, and the presentation. Parking situation in the main area with the other shops is a mess, at least on the weekends. There is parking closer to the restaurant entrance which is around the corner and looked less hectic, depending on if there's still spots available. Churros: 5/5. some of the best I've had in the U.S. Not sickeningly sweet, not dry, not overly moist. Cheesecake: 5/5. Lovely! Different from typical American cheesecake -- warm, fluffy, flavorful, not too sweet, kinda savory.

Thrilled to have this gem in Potomac! I had the King Crab Piquillo and the Rustic Cheesecake. Dennis was super welcoming and walked me through a few items on the menu. Clearly he made great recommendations because the king crab was incredible and the cheesecake was almost like a soufflé it was so fluffy and had a tasty apricot marmalade in the middle. The service at the bar was quick and still got taken care of from a food perspective just as if I were at a table. Really great experience and amazing food! The restaurant is beautiful and I can't wait to come back and try the oxtail and bunuelos next!

Never had a chance to try the Grove when it was meant as a high end restaurant. Then it completely changed its concept and is now a mid range bar and grill. We went on a week night and happened to be restaurant week. Two of us chose the the dinner prix fixe menu. We had crab bisque, one entree of salmon and one roast half chicken. Another one I our party ordered a la cart with tuna tartare and rockfish filet. Very sizable portions and food seasoning of all the dishes. The bisque is quite thick with crab that it's almost like a dip. We had a flourless chocolate cake with ice cream and a warm apple tart. Desserts are way too sweet for my taste. Interior is spacious with interesting decor. Music was too loud though. Plenty of parking and location offers family and senior friendly surroundings. I would go back because most items are reasonably priced and service is good. It's more like 3.5 srar

6 of us dined here on a Saturday night and, I'm happy to say, it was pleasantly crowded. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with house made chips. It was quite tasty, and the chips were delish. This version of The Grove hopefully will fare much better than the previous version which aspired to be MOCO's first Michelin starred restaurant. This version is much more relaxed & less stuffy with diners who seemed to be enjoying themselves. I'd have given this restaurant more stars if it weren't for the loud music that prevented comfortable conversation among the 6 of us. Also, although she didn't seem to be trying to rush us out, the server did hastily remove each person's dish just at the moment it was finished. I actually asked her to leave mine & one other so I could "poach" the fries. I do recommend it for casual dining. There's a nice outdoor seating area, and good free parking.

Beautiful inside the restaurant, good for photos (photogenic). Seating and taking order in a timely fashion. The staff is friendly and courteous. They know the menu and make good recommendations. Food has a unique favor.

Overall: 2.5/5 Food: 3/5 - I came here with a friend and got small plates to share. We came in for the happy hour and got the cheeseburger rolls (~$10 for 4). Everything else on the happy hour menu did not seem that great and very limited options. We then got the crab dip with pita as well as the shrimp. The crab dip tasted like that from a grocery store just heated up and the pita chips that came with the dip was very oily. The shrimp was alright but not something to come back for the cheeseburger rolls made for an ok combination because of the sauce but again not something I would come back for. Service: 3/5 - Alright service. The hostess seemed cold and not too welcoming. It felt like we were being rushed and asked to clear our plates when our plates clearly still had food/ were not finished. What is the rush when most of the restaurant is empty? Not that great. Value: 2/5 - The happy hour menu is not that great and varied and the value is pretty bad. I'm not sure who would get those appetizers for a "regular price". As for the other appetizers, they were all average - borderline bad and for the value, I would rather go to the cava or shake shack in the same area. The only thing going for this place seems to be the pretty interior and spacious area. Overall, I would not come back or recommend and my friend agreed. Too much effort focused on the vibes of the place and not good enough food, value and service.

Visited The Grove the other night w/ my company. I truly enjoyed my experience & will be back soon! I mostly appreciated the different menu options available (the watermelon caprese was sooooo good). I also enjoyed the staff. Huge s/o to the bartender, Jenna, who was super friendly and eager to help (even when I kept forgetting certain things). All in all, I love The Grove. The ambiance & scenery is breathtaking, too! Thank you to The Grove & Staff!

Absolutely loved this cute restaurant! The food was amazing and the service was awesome. Our waitress Madi was super kind and helpful. Definitely coming back soon!

We enjoyed an amazing dinner here! My only complaint is that the restaurant was a little chilly. Other than that, our dinner was absolute perfection! I started with an old fashioned and it was excellent. We shared the tuna tartare, crudo latin fusion and the the latin king crab piquillo. Every plate was amazing! The juice in the crudo was so flavorful and I wanted to drink it with a straw. For my main entree I ordered the halibut and it was excellent! All the dishes are plated beautifully. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Ok, I decided to go back and try the new menu and sit at the bar. The bar has about the same layout as the old LaHinge bar, which is a large square island. This unfortunately is a pain for the bartender because if he has guests at one end of the bar he has to do a 10 yard dash to get to customers on the other side of the bar. Anyway, that makes service slower. I was here on a Thursday evening with a friend. We pretty much had the bar to ourselves. The bar has a happy hour until 7PM. My lady friend ordered a beer and then discovered there was nothing on tap. She was annoyed because she wanted a beer but not in a bottle. Also, a lousy selection of 5 bottles beers: Ultra, Yeingling, Bud, Stella and a random IPA. So my friend ordered a Pinot Grigio, but they didn't have that so she settled for a sparkling wine, Anyway, the decor still creeps me out with all this plastic flowers. The bar space is nicer than the dining area and I dig the bar top. We ordered a couple apps that were only $9.00. For happy hour they have a choice of five apps. We got the humus, which was good but didn't come with enough bread and the cucumbers were mushy. We tried another appetizer and it was so unremarkable I don't remember what it was. The staff is fairly young and inexperienced from what I observed. But they are enthusiastic. One thing that has changed for the better is the menu is much less expensive than before. Entries are about $25, which is much better than the $50 previously. Lastly, This is not a restaurant for kids. Don't bring them.

Food-Jambalaya Pasta was not good. Weird sliced sausage (length wise), dry chicken, tiny shrimp. Disappointing for $26. Wings (honey/Old Bay) also not good-overwhelming honey and almost seemed battered. Caesar was limp lettuce, a few stale croutons and a very lemony dressing/for $14? Good HH prices on drinks, but I'd avoid the food!

They have some dishes that are really great, and some that were not at the same level. I really liked the Unexpected Oxtail - it was...unexpected and very flavorful. I am always a fan of beef tartare and that was also a very interesting dish with the chips that come with it. We also had the Iberian Black sausage and the Chicken breast. The sausage caused the toasted bread to get a bit soggy (so maybe eat right away); the chicken breast was ok. If they can get the same level of quality in flavors/uniqueness/timing this could be a very good restaurant. I am hoping they get there, it would be great to have another high-end restaurant in Potomac!

The Grove is a really beautiful neighborhood place. The Happy Hour menu is really good. It's such a convenient place to meet up with friends. The ambiance is really enjoyable. The bar is "long" in the sense that it wraps around from the front sunny area of the restaurant to a quieter, shaded part. Our head bartender Caroline was super attentive. Absolutely will be coming back for Gappy Hour.

The worst service ever! I came in for brunch looking forward to a nice Sunday brunch. Upon placing my order, I asked my waitress if they had sour dough toast (I'm allergic to wheat), if so I would like it with my order. She said she would have to check. My plate arrived shortly after with wheat toast already buttered & with jam. So I look at her and ask again, do you have ANYTHING besides wheat toast? 15 minutes later after walking away, and serving a few items to the scarcely populated area where I was waiting, she looked at me, and asked 'is there a problem?' I said 'Yes, I'm waiting to find out if you have ANY other toast at this point ? She then finally provided me with an option to choose from. I said fine, I will take rye toast please, with the condiments on the side. (I have never had a restaurant add jam to my bread as if we know one another). Another 15 min later, she came strolling back around as if she had no one to tend to and without anything in han. FINALLY fed up and done with my meal I simply demanded my check. The only tip I would leave this subpar server, is to get a new job

Chairs super uncomfortable, hurt your back Service, very amateurish Risotto overcooked and scallops burned The funny thing is we enjoyed eating here kind of knowing it's a train wreck and you can't look away from train crashes; my prediction was out of business within three months and my dining partner was within a six months. On a Saturday night practically all the restaurants in the area are fully booked and this place had so many open tables lolol.

The most I can say is meh... met friends at happy hour outside. Place was practically empty at 6pm on a Monday. One table occupied inside and two tables occupied outside. Not a great sign. Agree with another reviewer about odd way to enter the restaurant. Our group ordered happy hour chicken and hamburger sliders, turkey avocado sandwich, and regular chicken sandwich. The drink prices were good at $5. so no complaint there. Food was average but decent and came out in good order. Waitress was pleasant. Went inside to use ladies room. Odd smell in the restaurant. Almost a moldy odor. Strange. Husband noted he doesn't think they're going to make it. Unfortunate as I realize they have revamped the original food concept. Restaurant business is tough.

Heard The Grove changed concepts and was excited to try it out this week. We went on Thursday and it was fantastic! Just what the neighborhood needs. Everyone was so friendly and the rockfish was amazing. We can't wait to go back for happy hour and brunch.

Food was absolutely amazing. The toasted bread with fresh salsa was simple but incredible. The scallops melted in your mouth. And the manchego cheesecake was unique and delicious (caveat: manchego is my favorite cheese). Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. My only small complaint was that the heat was up way too high. But I will definitely be back soon!

The food was good, definitely above average. But it was like 66 degrees in there. Is that really what people want these days? I couldn't think about anything except how freezing I was.

Delicious appetizers full of flavor; beautiful ambiance with great backdrops to take photos (hanging flowers from the ceiling and illuminating wall signs); great music playing; happy hour at the bar until 7pm; savory, plump oysters; scallops were decadent and the beet salad was so tasty, we ordered it twice!

Potomac needed a restaurant like The Grove. The ambiance, staff, and food were all amazing. My group was notified of a tasting room that will open shortly, will definitely be booking that! Chris was an amazing server, explained all of the food and drinks. The menu did not disappoint! The truffle burrata is phenomenal as well as the tuna tartare. Scallops were cooking very well and portions did not disappoint. The rest of The Grove staff were extremely welcoming and charming. Cannot wait to go back

We went there last night. The food was OK, nothing spectacular. The decor was beautiful though. Here's why I am giving it 2 stars. The service was very lacking. 20 minutes after ordering, the 7 menus that were sitting on our tables were still there. Empty appetizer plates sat there all through dessert. No one came by once to refill our water. Because our table was over 6 people, an auto charge of 22% was billed. Happy to pay the tip if the service was good, but it was not. I think the servers we had need to be retrained. The restaurant was also very warm - I think the AC is broken. That's not their fault but it didn't add to the experience.

My wife and I ate here with another couple. I had the Pastrami sandwich which was outstanding. My wife had the burger, which was excellent -- as good as you'll find in the area. The cocktails were delicious and very well priced. Also very generous pours for the glasses of wine. Our friends each had salads, which looked fresh, but measly: Not their thing, but I hope they work on this. I almost forgot... the fries were really great! Overall, the prices were very reasonable -- especially for Potomac. We'll be back with our kids.

For a ladies' night out, we checked out The Grove Restaurant located in Cabin John Village, where Lahinch Bar & Grill used to be. I love how the restaurant was decorated with a floral theme. We were seated near the entrance. There was a dratt, and it felt like an icebox. Our server Chris was hospitable and knowledgeable about the menu. We loved hearing his recommendations of food and drinks. We also liked how they changed silverware between courses. For drinks, we were surprised that the high proof and low proof cocktails were the same price. Our party had Basicilata, Español Noche, Manhattan, Milanese Manhattan, and Mediterranean Sunrise. If you like a cocktail that is fruity and refreshing, I'd recommend the Español Noche. For appetizers, we got different appetizers, so we could try each other's appetizers. We ordered the Burrata Salad, Iberian Black Sausage, Rainbow Beet Salad, Unexpected Oxtail, and Veal Cheeks. Among the five appetizers I tried, I liked the Iberian Black Sausage, Unexpected Oxtail, and Veal Cheeks (in that order). The Iberian Black Sausage consisted of toasted bread topped with tomato confit, spaniard black pig sausage, garlic demi glaze, and quail egg. The combination of flavors and textures wowed me. The Unexpected Oxtail consisted of brioche bread stuffed with braised oxtail and guanciale baked, sliced, and served over creamy mashed potatoes with savory oxtail jus. It reminded me of a Beef Wellington. The mashed potatoes were buttery and resembled the one served at Joel Robuchon restaurants. The Veal Cheeks consisted of sous vide veal cheeks, caramelized red onions, celery root puree, and thyme demi sauce. It was tender and tasty. For entrees, we got different entrees, so we could try each other's entrees. We ordered the Pork Belly, Chicken Chilindron, Halibut, and Duck Breast. The Pork Belly consisted o a braised pork belly, carrot, asparagus, potato bacon tart, and tricolor coulis served in a thyme demi sauce. The Pork Belly had a melt in your mouth effect. The Chicken Chilindron consisted of chicken breast, spanish chorizo, and potato confit in a chunky tomato sauce finished with a sherry reduction sauce. I liked how it was skin-on chicken breast. The skin was crispy and juicy. However, the chicken was surprisingly dry. The Halibut consisted of seasoned halibut, served with calamari, cockle clams, peeled cherry tomatoes, creamy yellow bell pepper sauce, and celery root puree. The fish was flavorful, but the other components lacked flavor. My friend didn't like how this dish got cold really fast. The Duck Breast consisted of duck breast seared to perfection, served with broccolini, cipollini onion, and potato confit over celeriac puree in a sweet and tangy blood orange sauce. Unfortunately, by the time we finished our entrees, we didn't have any room to try their desserts. I'd definitely return to try their other appetizers, including their Poached Oyster, Toasted Crystal Bread, Tuna Tartare, and Beef Tartare, and other entrees, including Day Boat Sea Scallops, Filet Mignon, and Lamb Shank.

I came here with high hopes. High-end dining in Potomac? Sign me up. I'll keep it real with you though: I walk in, bright-a** lights threw me off. I'm used to dim, chill lighting when it comes to fine dining. Our waitress was incredibly nice and warm. I ordered the burrata salad. It was good, not epic. For my entree I had the chicken and veggies. The chicken was tough, not tender and the flavors didn't blow my mind. The dessert though, 5/5. I had the bunuelos, and my friend had the cheesecake. It was even pricier than some of my faves in DC. I'm cool with it, as long as you deliver. I want my mind blown as each course rolls out, and that didn't happen. I don't think I'd return.

We visited The Grove on Sunday, May 19th. We had a reservation for a party of five (5) at 5:00 pm. (Check 53, Table 61.) Our experience was disappointing. Music: We entered the restaurant through the back entrance and immediately noticed that the music was very loud. We asked the hostess if she could seat us in a part of the restaurant where the music might be quieter, but she told us that (a) the tables on the other side of the restaurant were too small to seat five and (b) the music was at essentially the same volume throughout the restaurant. So, she sat us in the back of the restaurant, near the bar. The music was way too loud and inappropriate for The Grove's style and menu. It was wildly out of step with the image The Grove presents on its website and the restaurant's decor. The playlist was 90s rock, grunge, and pop-punk including Jimmy Eat World, The Offspring, Sum 41, Nirvana, Greenday, and Puddle of Mudd's She Hates Me (repeated chorus: "She f***ing hates me"). It seemed like maybe the staff had selected the music and turned up the volume to stay energized, rather than thinking about the customers' enjoyment and complimenting the restaurants' style. I would love this music at a sports bar or a beach bar. ...But at 5pm, on a Sunday evening, in a restaurant that serves watermelon caprese and risotto, it was totally wrong and jarring. Temperature: When the first of two staff members who waited on us (maybe she was a manager or assistant manager) approached our table, she asked us, "Are you warm?" To which I politely responded, "No, we're fine. Thanks." The waitresses ignored our response and directed another staff member to open a second garage door window. I politely mentioned, "Sorry, I meant we're fine; it feels nice." And the waitress replied, "I was talking about me. It's hot, and it's just gonna get hotter." So, she totally ignored how we felt, despite directly asking us. $7 Refill: Three members of our party ordered Coke, at $7 a piece. We were charged $28 for four (4). I can only imagine that's because one member asked for a refill. Charging $7 for a refill of a soda seems unfair and exorbitant. Food: The food was okay. It was served relatively quickly. But it was not particularly great.

What a wonderful dinner and dessert. My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and had a front row seat to the open breezes and rain in the back of the restaurant. The service (Molly, Mario, Caitlin) was terrific. The crab dip was terrific and thoughtfully paired with crunchy pita chips. Wine by the bottle is very affordable. The house burger is phenomenal with excellent home cooked matchstick fries. The scallops were the best we've had because of outer crust and perfectly done. Flavorful risotto. The apple crisp is excellent. We are looking forward to coming back.

Oh my. Great evening. Fantastic food. Great service. Absolutely no complaints. Love the place!!!

McDreamy made reservations for us at 6:30 on a Friday evening. I was ready to hate the place because I loved the prior establishment so much. If you walk to the front door, signs direct you to the side entrance, which is counterintuitive in a strip mall with all other storefronts street side. So we endured a few extra steps in the cold. We were greeted directly and seated immediately. All of the hostesses and wait staff were very attentive and kind. My first impression of the restaurant was that it's tacky, bright and loud. Fake foliage is hung from the ceiling, floral murals on the walls, and trellises that look like someone's child went to the arts and craft store with little money and no imagination. The lighting, while not on high, was bright and was enhanced by the light colored decor. The music - a weird pumping folksy electronica - was turned up far too loudly. McDreamy and I could barely hold a conversation. He said it's like they are trying to be a trendy NYC bar. If you can get past the ambiance, the food is delicious and well portioned. For the prices of entrees and mains, we were pleasantly surprised with the not too small yet not too large plates. We enjoyed three courses and left satisfied but not stuffed to the gills. I enjoyed a light and fresh beet salad while he devoured the oxtails. The duck breast with potato and Jerusalem artichoke mash was heavenly while his lamb shank was literally fall off the bone tender. For dessert, we shared the rustic cheesecake and savored its cloud-like texture and delicious apricot topping. The biggest turnoff for me, besides the ambiance, was the price of the drinks. Cocktails and wine averaged $19 per glass, beers were around $10/$12 and mocktails (juice and soda) were $14. Folks, it's in Cabin John, which people like to call Potomac but really it's the Rockville outskirts or Northwest Bethesda at best. Those are stupid prices for drinks in a strip mall. I don't care that the buildings got a white paint facelift and parking lot re-do. It's the 'burbs, not the city. Drinks should be priced accordingly. All in all, we had a good dinner until a trio of heavily perfumed women entered and were seated behind us. They stunk. I kid you not, we could smell nothing besides their gross flowery perfumes and still smelled like their toxic cloud when we got home. Needless to say, we rushed out as soon as we paid for the meal. Hopefully, they don't become regulars. Will we be back? Unsure. The vibe wasn't for me but the food was yummy. Should you try it? It's worth a shot. Perhaps, it'll become your favorite trendy place.

Made a reservation for the grand opening on November 28, 2023! Arrived at the first hour. Received warm greeting from three staffs upon entering. Many people were at the bar already. We were the third table seated. The waitress Heidi explained all appetizers and entrees in very detail professionally with lots of smiles. Escalivada was nicely decorated and tasted great. We were disappointed that Beef Tartare on the menu cannot be served. Tuna Tartare was well presented as a loaf. Unexpected Oxtail came in five small rolls. Crudo Latin Fusion needed more time to be marinated. Pork Belly was greatly cooked with delicious sauce. Filet Mignon in medium rare was very juicy and tender, We were disappointed that there was no Tiramisu Moon nor Bunuelos on this first day of operation! We had to try the Rustic Cheesecake instead to conclude our first visit of tasting! Probably will come back to try those missing dishes.

Way overpriced for what they're serving up. They're using quality ingredients but not doing anything inventive or super tasty with them. If you're going to charge $55 for 2 scallops, one slice of mushroom and a spoonful of Jerusalem artichokes, it should be exquisite. Service wasn't great either. For example, we ordered a dish that was supposed to be toast with tomatoes and olive oil according to the menu and didn't learn that it came with a condiment that contained sausage until it was on the table and we were starting to eat it. We aren't vegetarian but I don't eat pork. Why wouldn't you include the sausage on the menu description or at least train staff to mention it? Ambiance is weird with a bunch of very fake flowers hanging from the ceiling looking like they're going to gather dust right quick and a random music selection that's a little too attention grabbing.

We came during the grand opening. The service was great and the ambience and music was wonderful (I love tech house music...lol). It was a very cold evening so it was a bit chilly inside the restaurant, probably due to sitting close to the front doors and patio doors. Some of the food in the menu was sold out and we had to make other choices two times. Everything we ordered tasted incredible. I took some pictures of the food we ordered as an example of the great presentation. We will definitely be back to try the other items in the menus that was sold out.

I was pleasantly surprised with our experience after reading the Post's less than stellar review. While there is no way this place would ever get a Michelin star in its current state, the food was quite good and I will definitely be back. Our server was polite and well-meaning, but not well-trained. He did not refill our wine glasses or water unless we asked, and did not describe the dishes as they were brought out. The decor feels a bit cheap to me, and the restaurant was uncomfortably chilly. I kept my coat on through the whole meal, as did many others seated around me. The food, however, was really good. I had the tuna tartare starter - delicious and my partner had the oxtail which he said he liked. I got the halibut entree. It was not exactly as described on the menu (no cherry tomatoes) but it was tasty. Partner got the scallops which unfortunately were slightly undercooked. Also, $39 for 2 scallops seems a bit high. Dessert was the real highlight. The rustic cheesecake was one of the best desserts I can remember having. I am already dreaming about getting it again! The meal may have been more enjoyable for me because I saved a ton of money using the InKind app - highly recommend getting it before coming here!

Sat at the bar a week ago on a Friday night. The bartenders were not very friendly and the atmosphere was that of a boutique than a bar. We order a glass of wine and I ordered a beer in a bottle and they have nothing on tap. I had to ask for a glass to pour my beer into. We ordered the happy hour wings and they brought out yes you guessed it 5 wings for $9.00. Charge us 10 bucks and thrown in an extra wing so we can evenly share. We then proceeded to request a napkin as we are eating wings! The bartender reached over and grabbed the bar napkins used to sit drinks on. Seriously, we went there to give this place a chance and it was fail, fail again and then fail a third time. We finished our 1 drink, the 5 wings and paid. Hoping something else can take the place of this establishment.

We went to the restaurant for our daughter's birthday and I mentioned that on my reservation. From the moment we went in the host, waitress and the food delivery people.. none of them ever smiled! It felt very awkward as everywhere you go you are greeted with warm welcome. The food was okay but I've never had such bad service in Potomac area. We ordered a cake came without a candle, no big deal after that point it was useless to mention that we were there to celebrate a birthday but silly me I mentioned and the waitress just walked away with a super annoyed face. Of course no one said goodbye or such while we were leaving. I don't get why everyone works there is upset or sad but I am very disappointed and never want to step in there again. Such negative vibe and I am very sorry to spend our precious time there.
