Pro’s: Great craft beer & cider tap selection. Friendly staff: Sue. Well curated taps & no crap/cheap beers. Decent but quite dated beers in cans. Con’s: $1-2/pint more expensive than most other local taprooms. WiFi does not work, hasn’t worked my last 3 visits. No cell reception if you’re waiting for a phone call from someone at OHSU or need to use the internet to see how much time is left on your Parking Kitty app. No free parking, $5.40 for 2-hours of parking. Hot dogs, tater tot’s & pub mix are typical food choices. You can’t download their loyalty app if you can’t access the internet nor cell reception.

First visited here the other night for Tuesday trivia. I enjoyed the beer and the atmosphere but there is exponential room for improvement with the trivia. "Honor system" hasn't been maintained in the highest levels of our government and it definitely has not sprinkled down to trivia night. Lacking any accountability for the sake of time to grade our own sheets truly tarnished the experience. Change is hard but lets try to be better.

Google
We had such a great time at Growler Guys GP tonight. We enjoyed the wings, the pizza, and the housemade ranch is delicious!! The atmosphere is inviting and welcoming and we can’t wait to return!!

Google
The owner is so kind and thanked us for bring in a large group. Vibes are great, beer is crisp.

Weirdly expensive for what it is. Beer selection is great, but the keg blew on the ipa I wanted and the lady still tried to charge me for it?!? Food sucks- got the chicken pesto sandwich which was laughable for $15 and came with like 5 chips. Vibe was horrible as apparently they’re too cheap to pay for Spotify premium so had to listen to ads every 3 songs. Definitely a must skip.

Google
The staff is great. The food sucks and is reheated, frozen, from Costco. The owner, Sue, flips her finger to the ADA and laughs at people with disabilities she doesn’t view as real. I am on the spectrum, and she walked off when I tried to ask for help with unnecessary noise she and other patrons were making. She, drunkenly, took the stance that she was neither an owner nor a manager- both things she claimed to be previously. She’s discriminatory, lifeless, and insincere. I would recommend going elsewhere if you want a place accommodating to all with someone who has a brain as an owner. She knows about my need for accommodations and all but laughed in my face for asking for them.

I was pretty impressed by this place. I walked here from my hotel near the waterfront. The beer selection was pretty cool, mostly local breweries that didn't have big names. The guys working there were very generous with their time and free samples. I ended up buying 3 crowlers and a pint to enjoy, and they helped me find the perfect beers. The prices were great, most averaged $9 for a 32oz crowler. Awesome place to have a beer or get it to go

Google
Great place for a variety of brews and siders. Not so great for single patrons wanting to belly up to a bar and drink Cheers' style. Just table seating. I have been to other "The Growler Guys" that have a long bar facing the taps. Service is waiting in line behind all the taste testers. Limited food. To go beer.

Yelp
Grabbed some apps and watched some NBA playoff games. It's a neat little place with an interesting concept of having a golf simulator attached. Not exactly sure how to take part in that. Food was pretty average but they had lots of drinks on tap. You order food and drinks at the bar and then they bring the food out to you. Neat casual spot. I'd return

Yelp
I've been twice now. Tons of options on draft which is welcoming. They have some food. Nothing is allergen friendly but never expected. Overall servers are nice and super helpful

Yelp
Growler Guys is the Best spot for beer, cider, wine from real bottles, and FOOD! Beyond that is a place to see and hangout with your neighbors. The South Waterfront is a bit secluded and so GGs is a perfect place for me to catch a game and make new friends. You know it's a great place when the employees like to stay to become patrons or be here on days off for Trivia Night and Comedy Night. The employees are tops, with a special nod to Sue! She's made introductions and helped me come out of my shell as a new resident of the South Waterfront. Great place.

Sarah A.

Yelp
Good beer selection. Food sucks especially for the price. Don't come for the food. If you're just wanting good beer then you're probably safe.

Yelp
Purchased tickets for a comedy show at their place, and they didn't have available seats for us. They weren't even checking tickets so there was no point in purchasing in the first place. The vibe there was cool very comfty casual, but wasn't able to be there long enough to enjoy any food or the restaurant bc of the hustle and bustle. Smelled good. Will definitely not be going to any events here lol

Parveen S.

Yelp
Great beer choices and the trivia night was a blast! It's always good to support a small business and very easy to do here because the staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice neighborhood Growler with some yummy snacks too. They have recently expanded to the space next door which will give them more space during these Covid times. They have nice little plexiglass separated spots outside as well. There are more things than beer on tap. Kombucha, sangria, root beer, CBD, wine etc. there are always games on the TVs which is cool and the people that work there are super nice and very knowledgeable and what they serve up.

Yelp
Solid neighborhood taproom that will get you your Friday afternoon beer fix without breaking the bank. Very solid and typical spot here in the south waterfront area and it's definitely a must go if you live in the area! FOOD/DRINKS The beer selection here is hands down fantastic. There's about 30ish choices that will satisfy every type of craving. You can't go wrong with any of their (locally sourced I believe) IPAs. Tasty to the last drop! On top of that, a pocket pick is their fruitier beers. The fruity beers is so sweet, it tasted like drinking extracts. It definitely satisfied my sweet tooth! The food here on the other hand it's just typical mediocre bar food. The tater tots, fries, and bratwurst are cooked as you can expect from a bar/taproom. Nothing to rave about nor this review is docking the rating because of it. Still hands down a solid spot for a quick bite and awesome drinks! SERVICE I personally think that this taproom's service has to be one of the better ones I've ever been to. The hosts/servers are super nice and willing to explain things along the way. Definitely getting a "genuine" vibe from them. Solid 5 stars here! ALL IN ALL, this taproom is one of my personal favorites and I'm so lucky to have it this close to my apartment. Highly recommend for you to check it out regardless if you live in the area or not!

Yelp
First time at growler guys, pretty standard taphouse. They have a golf simulator, which does make it stand apart from others. Small munchies menu ti chose from, good selection of beer and cider on tap. Great location. Small walk to the waterfront and a decent amount of restaurants around. I would definitely return

Yelp
Rough day at work? Growler Guys got your back. Its located in the South Waterfront, which makes it convenient to grab a beer for all those who live here. They have tons of beer on tap (48 of them) so whatever kind of beer you like, they'll likely have. You can even check on their website ahead of time of what's on tap. I'm an IPA and sour ale guy, which they had a plethora of selection. They ran a promotion by giving everyone in my apartment community a free growler and a refill so I had to, at least, pay them a visit. I chose to fill my growler with the peach sangria to save for later; since it doesn't fizz. Definitely try out their flight of beers, which you get to choose four to taste for around $11 (ymmv; depending on which you choose). My favorite was the the sour ale, which had a crisp pomegranate taste with light fizz. Second would be the peach sangria, which was smooth and had a subtle peach taste. The food was a bit pricey: vegetarian Italian sausage with chips ($7) and naked chicken wings ($9). The veg italian sausage was a bit dry and needed to be dipped in the accompanying relish and mustard. The wings didn't have much meat, but were bomb when dipped in the blue cheese. Great place to drink beer with good company after work.

Yelp
I loved The Growler Guys! The staff was very friendly, the food was fantastic, the drinks were generously poured and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I got the chicken wings and a glass of wine and it was VERY reasonably priced. My only note for them is that when it was time to close out my tab, I waited longer in line to pay and leave then it took me to eat my food and drink my drink. My experience was flawless otherwise!

Yelp
Came with a group of 12 on a Thursday night. Was pleasantly surprised to find a lively crowd! There are 48 beers on tap and a few ciders, for people like me who don't like beer. People, don't hate! Just can't handle the hops. After tasting a few, which I appreciated the curtesy, I chose the Crangerine which was tart and a bit sweet. Really hit the spot. There are lots of bar height and regular height tables, some pushed together in several configurations making it easy to talk to everyone in your group or engage with others. Large TVs on the walls which seemed more like background noise as no one was watching. There are tables out front when weather is better. Several in our group tried the eats; typical food you would find at a beer garden: wings, hot pretzel & mustard, sausage on a bun, tater tots, hummus. Satisfying and served the purpose. You are not here for the food! Since this is close to my neighborhood, I signed up for their easy rewards program. Already earned a $1 off my next beverage. You can use points for food, beverages and their swag. Bartenders were friendly and treated everyone like this was their "Cheers." First time here and I'll be back.

Yelp
Amazing selection of brews! I am a cider girl so I had the mango mimosa by Portland cider - very delicious! They host a comedy show every third Saturday of the month - great time!
google avatar

Yelp
essentially your neighborhood taproom. they have a great array of selections in terms of beers on tap! golf on tap is right next door as well. service is typically really friendly, and they often have great recommendations.

Joe T.

Yelp
First time here and they have an awesome beer list with like 30 beers on tap. They also have nightly events, like trivia and the like.
google avatar

Yelp
Great beer selection with very good service!! Chill quiet atmosphere and good snacks to boot.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday afternoon around 3:30pm after work with a coworker for after-work drinks. The location near the south waterfront is super handy - I work at OHSU and we literally just took the tram down from the hill, then walked a couple blocks. Wasn't crowded around 3:30pm but it started getting pretty poppin' once happy hour hit. The bar tender was super nice in letting me try stuff, and did a good job when I told him to surprise me with the choices in my flight. A flight of 4 beers/ ciders is $8. They have a really wide selection of drinks, so even if you're not into beer, they have a lot of ciders and wine to choose from. Sports-bar type vibe inside, with tvs. I LOVE the outside sitting vibes, especially in summer months like May. Portland is such a friendly city, my coworker and I shared a table with different groups of people cycling through and got into some great conversation with the people around us. Clean bathroom, great service, wide choice of drinks, chill outdoor area. Parking can be rough if you're driving. Fit for a low key first date, after-work drinks with coworkers, after dinner stop with friends, or even to grab a drink by yourself and watch a game. 10/10 will come again.

Yelp
We came in, because we won a giftcard. I am glad we did. Trendy little taphouse with an amazing selection of local and national domestic beers, as well as several ciders, hard seltzers, and even a sangria. They serve some food. We did not partake, but we saw a bratwurst and toys that looked and smelled amazing. They had a basket of blankets if you need to warm yourself while drinking an ice cold beer.
google avatar

Yelp
I'd come here again. I usually start off at new places taking a recommendation from the staff. Because of this, I got the lemon basil cider. Small batch means small glass, but it's worth it. But even with the suggestion for the chicken strips and pretzel, I wanted something more substantial. She suggested that people like the pizzas. I was eyeing the Zenner hot dog or brat, and since the brat isn't grilled with beer, I chose the pepperoni pizza after all. Good, yeasty bread. Tasty, herby sauce. Cheese is unexpectedly plain and common, but altogether a good pizza. Tv with sports and fewer full tables on a Friday mean it isn't too loud for me to listen to an audiobook. The staff rushed, a bit late, to open the door for me in a wheelchair, which I didn't need, but it was a courteous gesture. You'll need the Wi-Fi password

Yelp
I've been coming to Growler Guys for years, it used to be a beer bar that was right across the street and easy to access. But over the years I've moved states, I've traveled the world, and I still come here every time I'm in Portland. Sue, Casey, and the rest of the staff here aren't just people that pour me delicious beers. They are family. I love these people as they make anyone, and everyone feel welcome and loved. They are kind and generous to the community, and really take care of everyone that comes here. This will forever be a spot I call home. Thanks for everything, can't wait to come back in a couple years when I return to the US. And share some stories of my travels over beers with my "beer mom and family."
google avatar

Gelina W.

Yelp
Loved this place! The bartender was really sweet and offered samples of anything we wanted which I don't see very often, so I appreciated that! The vibe was pretty cute too and the outside seating was nice because the weather was great!
google avatar

Kelsie V.

Yelp
one of the first Growler Guys franchise to come up to Portland. This is a successful and active location. Also, think they were one of the first businesses on the new Waterfront. I have had a few beers here catching up with friends that lived nearby. I also attended a beer event, too and they were great hosts. Lots of natural lighting, TVs for sport, sidewalk tables, fun tap list and they offer snacks to order also - I couldn't catch an UBER from Ohsu on the Hill, so I took the tram down and stopped in for a Kombucha at Growler Guys. It was the GTs Cannabliss - it hit the spot. Owner is often on hand and staff is thorough, cheerful.
google avatar

Feier L.

Yelp
I love that this is so close and convenient. They have a huge selection on tap that you'll definitely find something you like. The bartenders are also super knowlegeable and friendly! I asked some weirdly specific flavor questions and she was very willing to humor me. We got flights and liked 7 out of the 8 beers we got. If you sit outside, there will likely be dogs around with other customers, which was a plus for us. Will be back again soon!
google avatar

Molly Claire B.

Yelp
We love the bees, food, and especially the amazing staff! Thank you from r always having lots of stouts and porters to choose from - so many Portland pubs think everyone only likes IPA!
google avatar

Yelp
Great little bar on Southwest waterfront in downtown Portland Portland. The staff there were very nice as this is a local spot. They do play golf on the Tv's and we happen to be there during a free raffle night giving away gear and samples of beer/ ciders. They did have some holiday inspired inspired drinks which were great during this massive time period the atmosphere is there was a nice. A lot quieter than other bars lighting was great windows viewed outside.. Great place for a little get together or get together or a quick drink with some friends.
google avatar

Megan N.

Yelp
If you work at OHSU this is the definite go to. So close and easy to get too! Parking can be tight at times but didn't run into any issues today on a Thursday in October. They have a wide variety of beers that they organize so you're not searching through the lists of taps while the servers stares intently at you. I tried their fries I'd give it a 9/10z thickly cut, crispy and seasoned well but there was a good amount of burnt fries haha. Still ate and enjoyed the whole thing! They give you ketchup and ranch on the house... something that's pretty rare these days. Awesome vibe, great service and spot on selection.. Gold star growler guys!!!

James W.

Yelp
Staff is polite, but management sucks. I had french fries from down the block and was told I could not eat them in the joint even though I was drinking their $6 beer. Terrible judgement on management part. I will not return.
google avatar

Anne F.

Yelp
This place has a great selection of beers and a lot of potential. The food menu needs to be improved if you want customers to stay while drinking and come back for take-out. People like their wings crispy, but their wings had that thick fatty skin instead. The fries were meh. Like you got a frozen bag from the grocery store and popped it in your oven meh.
google avatar

Yelp
Sue is the owner, her and all of her employees are so friendly and helpful. This spot is a regular spot for my classmates and I as a group after we finish stressful days on campus.

Yelp
No tastings ? I didnt know what to get for sure and wanted to taste two and make up my mind but I was told they charge plus I have to pay 7 for a beer . No thanks.

Yelp
I visited this establiment for the first time on: 3.19.21 Cool set up!  Cement walls & floor. Clean and comfortable with modern industrial type interior. High celings with large aluminum vents.  A generous tap menu is across 4 very large high definition LED Tv screens.  They have a decent cider selection, as well.  Each screen has the corresponding brew taps directly under.  Several TV's throughout as well.  All were showing basketball. The place feels to me like a 2021 trendy coffee lounge that's Covid19- Aware. But.... It's for beer connoisseurs :) Covid friendly outdoor seating, too. Signs & stickers letting customers know where to stand or sit per CDC 6 ft. social distancing guidelines. Employees were all wearing masks & taking proper Covid precautions. Hand sanitizer was available for customers. **They have 2 lines. One is to exit after you order. The other, to enter for ordering. Unfortunately, I was wearing 2 masks and a hat. My glasses were foggy & covered in rain drops. It was extremely windy and stormy outside. I'd come in to get out of a storm. My hat, masks & glasses blocked the signs from my visibility. Therefore; I unknowingly stood in the wrong line. However;  While I stood there waiting for an available employee to call me up to order, they repeatedly called on new customers as they walked in the front door behind me. They then would wipe down countets & chat among themelves behind the counter, until another customer walked in. Leaving me standing there for quite some time!   I was not understanding why no one was helping me.  After 7-8 minutes of this. I became discouraged & decided to leave. As I turned to leave, I noticed the tiny exit sign above me. I calmly asked. "Why didn't someone tell me I was in the wrong line"?  No one responded....I felt shamed...but decided to  switch to the other line anyway.. which was 1foot to my right.  There were no other customers in line. However,  I waited an additional minute for someone to acknowledge me. All employees were doing other things behind the counter. For a first timer that had been staring at the menu for 7-8 minutes... I had questions, yet no sample was never offered.  I had noticed them offer a small taste to a customer just a few moments prior.  I was the only person that I noticed being treated disrespectfully.  I'm sure it was because I stood in the exit line. I found myself wondering.... maybe I looked homeless, mentally ill...or maybe like a drug addict...? I'm none of those. I'm an established,  well educated middle aged woman.  I think I was just being shamed for accidentally standing in the wrong line! Unfortunately, I likely will NOT go back.  Too bad. I live close by. This is exactly the type of place I'd normally frequent with colleagues and friends. I'm not sure if I'd recommend this establiment.  If you do go.... look up  *DO NOT STAND IN THE EXIT LINE!* It could determine how you are treated by the staff!

Yelp
I just stopped here for happy hour. They have an awesome tap list and really knowledgeable staff. I appreciated the broad range of beers available in a chill environment. They also have really affordable deals on growlers. I'll have to come back sometime to try their food as well!
google avatar

Louise G.

Yelp
Always super nice staff here. They have a ton of beers on tap as well as a few Kombuchas. They're always helpful in letting you try before you buy and will help you make a selection. Food selection is pretty small here. They also have a frequent buyer rewards program here. They use your phone number to keep track of your purchases.

Colin E.

Yelp
Great staff and lots of different brews to select from. It's a great place to go with coworkers after work is done.

Yelp
Great place to have some good beers! Excited snacks really enjoyed this experience. Bartender is super nice. Great views! Definitely try the #11

Yelp
A few friends and I came in on Monday 1/20 to watch tthe bachelor. (They show the bachelor live every Monday night) I was so stoked to find a place to get my girlfriends together to watch the bachelor! When we arrived it was already really busy. When we were ordering our drinks they offered us to sample some first. I decided on the Portland Cider Co - Crangerine which was delicious! I also ordered a basil pesto bread which tasted good. After ordering one of the staff came up to me and asked to help us find a table big enough for our group which was nice and thoughtful since we had a bigger group. She moved some tables around to fit us all. They had multiple large screen televisions to watch the show on. I love that they interacted with me on social media and show their customers how much they appreciate them. Their is street parking and quite a bit of it too. I will definitely be going back and supporting their business and bringing all my girlfriends back for bachelor Monday!

Yelp
Growler Guys is a great one stop shop for decent brews. Friendly bartenders with good knowledge of the beers, great location and street parking, walking distance to other great SW Portland locations..what's not to like?
google avatar

Yelp
We recently moved to the area and couldn't wait to give this place a shot. I decided move-in day was a great time to buy a 32oz (2-pint) growler and drink it that night in celebration. But, oh, yeah...I hate beer. I know, I know. I live in craft beer city. Get your annoyed grunts over with and read on. There's 55 taps, and I'd say at last 45 of those are beers. But that leaves plenty of an options for those of us that like ciders, meads, etc. The nice woman behind the counter let me sample a bunch before I decided on the pumpkin cider and bought a growler for the filling. I explained I just moved in and loved cider and said I'd probably come around frequently. She shook my hand, welcomed me to the neighborhood, and we had a nice chat. I felt like I was immediately welcomed into their 'regular' category. It was nice. Anyway, this is a great place to grab a pint and bite after work, or simply fill your growler and do the same at home. I'm happy to have this place in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Jake B.

Yelp
What a treat to live across the street from my friends at Growler Guys! The rotating selections of IPAs keep me extra happy, but their 50 or so taps have a beer for everyone. Can't decide? The staff is friendly, fun, and knowledgeable too! Cheers friends, and keep up the good work!
google avatar

LD M.

Yelp
This is beer shop. And it's best in class. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, dope rotating taps, and more samples than you can want. The reward points system is legit. Great way to get free brew and swag. Food here is alright... but you don't go here for that, you go here to experience beer cornucopia. Grab a seat and soak in the vibes. Growler guys is a great place to have a pint.

teresa m.

Yelp
we met some folks post work from ohsu here for a beer/food...i cycled in and it was a brisk 34 degrees....i masked up and then removed it when i had the beer......there were seven of us...my partner and i had a pint of pip lager, and the others had various ciders and beer....next, i had the impossible burger and we shared the veggie plate....she had the impossible meatball sandwich...others had some food too.....all the drinks/food were delicious...it's a lively place, and the staff is great.....
google avatar

Lindsey S.

Yelp
Reeeeally decent. Not a single thing wrong with this place. If you're looking for beer, lots of beer, lots of good beer, this is such a great spot. It's not huge but it's also not crowded. There's like 48 beers on tap and the staff are more than willing to let you try some out and educate you on what my match your own palate. Love the food options. They got a little too creative with their homemade spicy mustard (came with the soft pretzel) to the point where it was inedible. But that didn't mean I couldn't enjoy my drink and munchies. I went there for the Cavs Warriors game and may or may not come back for future sports. They have some televisions, but not the crowd. In fact, I was probably 1 of the only people watching at all (out of 50 people there)! Come on! Game 4! Cavs gotta win this to avoid ending their season and the Warriors gotta win this to solidify themselves as the greatest team ever with the greatest playoff record possible! Nope.. no one cared... they were all drinking their super tasty, very reasonably priced beer. PS... the growlers are a bargain, if you don't mind pouring from your own 64oz jug back home.
google avatar

Vik M.

Yelp
This is a great tap room and addition to the ever blooming south waterfront. There is an amazing selection of beer, of course WELCOME TO PORTLAND, two wines, two-three meads, and four to five ciders (if I remember correctly). The ciders available are usually on the extremely sweet side, which is unfortunate, and the sweeter ones tend to be available longer (because people order less of them? idk). The food is mostly appetizer style (meatballs with pita, hummus with veggies, spinach artichoke dip, etc.). I will suggest that you do not order the watery mess that is the spinach artichoke dip. I have tried it twice and have been disappointed... twice. The meatballs and hummus plates are very good. As far as events, they have tastings and occasionally live music with Kevin Jones (a recent transplant trying to bring music to south waterfront). It's cozy and fun. There are two tvs, usually with trailblazers games, and they sell growlers (and crowlers) in case you forget yours at home. *UPDATE* there are three tvs, thanks yelper. I have also been told that only service dogs are allowed by that same fellow yelper. I have seen normal dogs (aka no best which I thought was protocol) so I assumed this was a doggy friendly establishment. I'll ask next time!*END OF UPDATE* DOGS ARE ALLOWED. This is a huge perk. This shop is located two blocks away from the waterfront tram terminal and has paid street parking. I recommend getting growler fills and pints if you find yourself in the area.

Yelp
Good beer but a bit on the expensive side I thought. Nice outside if the weather is good.
google avatar

Cindie S.

Yelp
I discovered this local place last year when researching this area for relocation. From the first time that I walked in, Caitlin made me feel so welcome, and later getting to know Sue, her daughter, and staff, it has been a continued delight. The beers are always changing which is a good thing, and food is perfect for beers, cider or whatever your fancy. I highly recommend stopping in to have a cold one, have a snack, and you will return.

Yelp
The wife and I ventured out from the Pearl down to the South Water front one afternoon to have a couple of beers at The Growler Guys. Nice selection of beers, ciders, and Kambuchas. The bartender is very happy to give you a small tasting cup of any of the taps prior to ordering a beer, which is nice, so you can taste a few things and then order what is most appealing to you at the time.
google avatar

Damien S.

Yelp
First time here. Amazing tap selection. The majority of brands you have heard of but quite a few "who the heck are those guys?" Service was fantastic. My wife and I went with 3 flights to trial 12 different taps at 8 bucks a pop. More than worth it to sample that many types of beer/wine/ciders. We also had the wings which were nothing unique but still tasty. I'd recommend coming for happy hour, they usually have select pints for 4 bucks during this time.

Yelp
Arrived at 9:30 pm 8/6 and growler guys website says open until 12:00 am which is incorrect close at 11:00 pm. Staff is overwhelmed due to a large group on uniboards and skateboards and don't have enough staff on to manage large group of people. Don't go to growler guys on Friday night or really any other day. Growler guys is mismanaged and very overrated!!

Yelp
Update: Still great! Went for trivia night again. Everyone is so much fun. It's a very friendly atmosphere and minors allowed until 9pm. Perfect timing for the game to end and head out.
