Houston’s Newest Food Truck Park Will Highlight Black-Owned Restaurants | Eater Houston

"I'm describing a brand-new food truck park that aims to showcase Houston’s Black-owned mobile eateries; it opens Saturday, July 24 at 4 p.m. and will be located at 1615 South Loop West just south of the Loop from NRG Park and the Astrodome. A project from the Black Service Chamber, the park will host about 30 trucks, include a dedicated bar station serving beer and other alcoholic drinks, and is being set up in a former Sam’s Club lot with plenty of parking, more than 1,500 square feet of shaded seating with fans and misting systems, and family-friendly amenities. Diners can order from each individual truck via an app that shows estimated pick-up times, there will be a dedicated customer service booth, and organizers are aiming for a tailgate-like, low-cost meeting spot within walking distance of NRG Stadium and the light rail; once launched it will be open Thursdays through Sundays." - Brittanie Shey

We went to the Food Truck at Katy Beer Gardens. The staff was friendly and engaging, and the food was great. The roasted Brussel Sprouts were amazing. Who would have ever thought that you could get great sprouts on a food truck. They were cooked to perfection. The other food was great also. After a few minutes Alex stopped by and chatted with us to see how everything was going.

When I say this is the spot to stop, stop. Aaron and Bobby are amazing with generational cooking skills! We got the 6 pc wing basket with pressure powder. Fries and chicken were golden perfection. And the powder dust was a little sweet, salty and a little tangy, I little had the happy dance and finger licked happening. And to finish it off we had some delicious boiled turkey necks. So delicious and filling, savory with a bit of spice. Your given gloves bc there ain’t no way your not diggin in. 4503 emancipation avenue is the address you gotta go!
