Guigui, you’re a lovely guy. Such a great atmosphere warm ambiance, excellent service, and amazing drinks. You have to try the Singapore Sling honestly, one of the best drinks ever. The red and white carpet gives strong Oval Office vibes, without even being in the US 🇺🇸. Lovely food as well: mini burgers, bangers everything on point. Thank you so much for the hospitality, the food, and the outstanding service. Truly appreciated.

This bar exudes old-school elegance, with its dark wood-paneled walls, plush red carpet, and comfortable seating creating a warm and refined atmosphere. Service was outstanding - extremely attentive, professional, and knowledgeable. The cocktail menu is exquisite, with expertly crafted drinks, including the signature Singapore Sling. Drinks were served at exactly the right temperature, which added to the polished experience. Each drink is accompanied by three complimentary bar snacks: briny olives, perfectly seasoned roasted almonds, and crisp, delicate crackers - a thoughtful touch that enhances the overall experience. The bar food was equally impressive. The fried chicken was juicy and tender inside with a crispy golden crust, served with a delicious, mayo-like dipping sauce. The mushroom arancini were fried to perfection, rich with truffle and umami flavor. The oysters were fresh and bright, with a clean, zingy finish. All in all, a fantastic experience in the elegant setting of the Old War Office - a true gem for lovers of classic bars and fine service.

Fantastic cocktails and a nice space. We had a Singapore Sling and a London Sling. The London Sling is a true delight to drink. Olives and nuts were good. Excellent service. I jokingly said I felt sorry for the garnish cherry that's trapped in ice and never gets eaten. Our server brought us hot water so we could free the little guy and eat him. That's service!

Had a quick drink here (Friday 7pm) before our reservation at Saison. Atmosphere and drinks were lovely but stand out was the lovely young Waiter looking after us, (apologies I do not recall his name). He recommended to me a lovely cocktail (again I do not remember what I was called) of Mezcal and lemon which was amazing, and as I was celebrating my birthday he brought out some champagne for us all at the table. A lovely gesture and his kindness made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed the bar very much.

Highly recommend visiting to have the traditional Singapore Sling cocktail. Great attention to detail with beautiful cocktail garnishes (homemade balsamic vinegar soaked pineapple and marinated cherries) The bar also provided complimentary olives and nuts which were delicious. The signature cocktail is £25 each plus service, but worth it for the experience and provided snacks.

Called in for short comfort stop. Singapore Sling £25 and Mare Gin and Tonic £24 plus 15% discretionary service charge. Drinks Menu has some interesting price bands.

I had such a great experience at The Guards Bar. The bartender, Leonardo, was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and clearly knew his craft. All of the staff were welcoming and created a really inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The bar itself has a great vibe, perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. Their signature cocktails really stood out—well balanced, creative, and backed by an excellent selection of spirits. You can tell a lot of care goes into the drinks here. Overall, it’s a place that gets everything right: atmosphere, service, and drinks. I’ll definitely be coming back and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a quality cocktail spot.

I visited The Guard’s Bar at Raffles on Christmas Eve with a party of five, having made a reservation over a month in advance. Unfortunately, we were seated outside the main bar area, in a space that felt very much like an afterthought rather than part of the core experience. It lacked the festive atmosphere of the main bar and was extremely cramped for a group of our size. Although we chose to stay and each had two drinks — resulting in a considerable spend — no alternative seating was offered when I raised the issue and asked whether it might be possible to move inside. It left us with the impression that our booking had been overlooked, which was particularly disappointing given the occasion and the advance reservation. We each had two cocktails. The Singapore Sling was decent, but our other drinks were weak and very average. Unfortunately I’ve had better cosmopolitans at my local pub for half the price. I initially chose to share this feedback privately with Raffles, but unfortunately I did not receive a response. Overall, this experience fell short of the standard I would expect from both The Guard’s Bar and Raffles, especially on such a special evening.
