Where To Eat Outside In Hackney - London - The Infatuation

"Exercising your right to sit outside when there is only the briefest glimmer of sunshine is something all Londoners born or adopted pick up naturally. So if you’re around Hackney then it’s worth heading to The Gun for their semi-secret sun trap terrace. The pub is a wander away from Well Street Common and Victoria Park, and everything from the changing residencies we’ve sampled tends to be very tasty. At the moment it’s Ling Ling’s, a Chinese-influenced pop-up." - jake missing

I was treated to dinner here as a birthday gift. Lots of parking and a beautiful-looking country pub from the outside. Inside were the most wonderful flowers, absolutely stunning. The fish and chips were OK, It was a bit dry. Although presented very nicely. The desserts were delicious, melt in your mouth sponge with dates. I would go again as it's got a relaxing vibe. Obviously popular because it was busy even on a Monday evening. Lots of walks are available nearby too, so perfect for a drink in the gardens after.

We had a great dinner mid September 2025. A group of 3 of us dined for starters and mains. Great food, great waiter. A+++

Stopped with our Motorhome for lunch. They allow overnight stops for free as long as you drink or eat at the pub. Obvious decision was to stay and enjoy the very good ales and the food. Curry was really special. And then relax in evening sunshine. No stress fantastic.

They served lovely cocktails and the sourdough pizzas made in their pizza oven are thin, crispy and topped with great quality local ingredients. They change some parts of the menu seasonally and nice to have some variety. Also a lovely sun trap garden to enjoy the British sunshine in. They show you where their local ingredients are from. We are a big fan of the Wildshark wine they get from Maidstone. They also have scrumptious sweet potato fries… if you’re a fan.

A lovely, beamy, yet tastefully modernised pub with a huge grassy beer garden and friendly, super-efficient staff. My boyfriend had the calzone which he said was amazing, I had the fish and chips which was unfortunately a bit soggy/ greasy. Generally though, we had a lovely evening here.

We had an amazing time, great food with a nice presentation, excellent and friendly customer service. We will be back. Today we had an amazing time for lunch. Beautiful sunny day we got a table by the terrace door which was great for enjoying the weather but from inside. Really busy as always! Well done for the whole team. Keep up what you are doing!

Used this lovely pub many times. Lovely quiet setting. Always had good food and service but not the case on Monday arrived for lunch and staff were less than welcoming. We ordered pizza and fries and they were really good. Didn't expect anything less! We then decided to order a dessert to share. We waited for half an hour and nothing. We decided to check how much longer it was going to be as we were on a schedule only to find it was never going to arrive! A mix up in the kitchen apparently! We got a refund and didn't feel as though the staff were at all bothered by this. We understand there was a wake booked in that day but a warm welcome and a smile would have gone a long way. Disappointing.

Delicious food, homemade pizzas are really good and fresh. Alcohol free cocktails were also great value and really tasty, perfect if you are pregnant or just don’t want to drink. Friendly staff and it is also dog friendly. Good value overall.

Yelp
A very nice country pub that is well worth the travelling time with views over local fields. Located further up the road from the A22 than expected this quaint little pub has been renovated and extended to welcome many patrons. Recommended to book in advance as it's reputation ensures a busy restaurant. Food is very tasty. Would recommend virtually anything on the menu. The homemade stonebaked pizzas are A-maz-ing! Food isn't cheap, but i didnt think it was expensive either. It was well worth the money. Roasts look incredible, I didn't have one myself. There is a couple of climbing frames and swings for the kids. So they can run around and leave you to enjoy the good and vast drinks on offer. I will be going back

Yelp
If you like your country pubs and your pies, look no further than this gem of an establishment. It's situated in some of the most beautiful Sussex countryside the area has to offer and boasts an enormous, landscaped garden with wooden climbing frames to keep the kids from annoying you. Try the Chicken, ham, mushroom and leek pie, it is fantastic and really filling. Plenty of fine Sussex ales to quench your thirst here too and a pretty impressive wine list. Ideal place to head to after a nice long country walk.

Yelp
This is one of those old Sussex pubs that has been over styled. The food is good but very expensive. They have Leffe on tap to their credit but the prices are high for drinks and snacks as well. The place is not for the young or for families but for wealthy old folk it's probably ideal. They have a garden that has a nice play area for kids but there are loads of better pubs to take your family to in the area.
