I just completed a purchase with Joe from the Gun Room. I am very happy with how smoothly it went, and what a stand up person he is. His follow up and communication was great. Everything he said was correct, and the verbal description was spot on. He is a man of his word. He went the extra mile for me, which I really appreciate. I am already looking forward to the next purchase from him and the Gun Room. I highly recommend both of them.

Truly a unique spot, definitely a cabinet of curiosities in the gun space with lots thatll catch your eye and knowledgeable, friendly staff that will chat about it with you. Absolutely recommend stopping by to check them out, totally reasonable prices and easy buy process.

I walked in expecting the typical gun store experience. You know, the folks that look down on you if you don't know that S&W stands for South & West or that you shouldn't buy a scope unless it has at least 500 magnification. You get where I'm going with that. The staff here treated me like a regular customer: provided great service, answered questions without judgment, and respected the knowledge I do have. That alone makes this shop a cut above the rest. The diamond in the rough though is their gun room. Antique firearms, high end items, and unique pieces that you're welcome to stroll through and be amazed by. All in all, this shop has an amazing selection (~1200 firearms, so I hear) and great staff. Stop in to be treated well and offered a great experience, buying or not.

Contacted the Gun Room about the purchase of a firearm advertised on a website. They took the time to give me a detailed description of the firearm answering all my questions. Verification of all the markings. Confirming functional operation of the firearm. Purchase of the and delivery of the firearm was exactly as discussed and described by the gun room. No hang ups. Extremely satisfied with everything, especially the firearm.

Came in today looking for specific accessories for my firearm and I was immediately greeted, helped and left so much happier than how I walked in. I will be back thank you guys. Beck, Ian, Joe and Reed y’all rock!

I live in Oklahoma. Called this shop and the local sales guy was very kind and helpful. He transferred me to the online sales team and he was even better. Very patient as I’d never purchased a gun out of state. You guys made it so simple. AND… I paid for the gun on Wednesday and had in hand on Friday. Awesome shop! Keep it up.

The gentlemen here were kind, competent, and patient while I browsed inventory. The inventory was diverse enough to draw me in, and prices were reasonable enough for a spur of the moment purchase.

This is one of my favorite gun shops in Denver. They always have a great selection of firearms. Even a wonderful collection of vintage type firearms. Make sure you walk through their vault of extremely expensive collectible weapons. What they have in there would make any collector drool. Make sure you visit this store. It's worth your time.

Stopped in to see the selection of Colts they have for sale, I got a gun that has never been fired with its original box and tags! Everyone was super helpful, the store is clean and well organized. It's a little off the beaten path but this place is a hidden gem. They have amazing selection so no matter what you want to add to your collection they will have something that fits your style. I will be back definitely shop here again.

Owner of the shop George is the crook. I gave him 2 guns to be listed for sale on concession. Walther ppk/s and Browning buck mark. He sold the guns and pocketed all the money, and stated that it was his guns. He is a low life crook who cheats people, so stay away from him if dont want to be cheated.

These guys are knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. They have a great selection of items at reasonable prices. I have shopped at this store since 1985, and they continue to impress me.

The General Manager was arrogant and not civil or well-mannered at all. He may know a lot about guns, but he could certainly use a few lessons on inter-personal skills. Maybe a brush up on civility. Do not bring your firearm to sell to the Gun Room, it is a waste of time. The buy offer they made me was an insult to my intelligence. The GM could have simply said we are not in the market for your guns right now, and all would have been well. I went in a couple years ago and had a good experience selling them a gun. Nice young man explained their rationale for the offered price and was well-mannered. The store is old, dated, and kind of dirty. I wonder what changed in the store dynamic.

Sold me a lemon rifle, tried to keep the box, only advice WAS TO 'SHOOT IT' LIKE THAT WOULD FIX IT. Sep. 2022. Also paid way more for it, that's my fault, it won't happen again as I won't go there again. I understand it's new ownership.....You've been warned!

These guys are awesome. The shop is a wonderful gun shop. It has lots of inventory and the people are very knowledgeable They are very caring and the prices are also excellent. I would suggest you go to the shop and they will take good care of you.

I had just gotten a haircut and had been wanting a new handgun at a great price. I found this place on my maps app and I walked in and was greeted amazingly. They were friendly, had great prices, and made me feel like a kid in the candy store looking ate everything! I definitely recommend this shop! Go to Alex for all your gun needs!

Got sold on a Sig P226 Tac ops for a great price the staff are really friendly background check wasn't long at all over all I would recommend this gun shop to anyone looking for rare cool guns and surplus rifles as well

I've purchased numerous firearms from The Gun Room over the last almost two decades. Their service is great and their prices very reasonable. They are always my first choice wether I want to buy or sell.

Fantastic selection, been there a few times. Went in to browse recently and when they marked up 1k boxes of .223 to $650, they lost my business forever. I understand increasing the price a bit to meet the increased demand but that's ridiculous.

I bought a magazine on line and if I loaded 6 rounds the mag would not seat in the gun. I stopped at the Gun Room and the counter man determined that the spring was installed backwards at the factory. He fixed it and I offered to pay and he said no charge. I'm a fan of this place now.

After consigning multiple guns over the years at The Gun Room, I am done. They never call when the firearm sells. They can't find records when you do go in to pick up your check. I was promised a flat $75 consignment fee on a gun I sold. The employee wrote it on my receipt. George would not honor what his employee promised. Prices are generally about 20% too high on almost everything in the store. George, you lost not only my business but probably a lot of my friend's as well.

Seller Beware! I went to The Gun Room, Lakewood after speaking with George, the owner a few days prior. I had explained my husband who owned the guns just passed away and I wanted to know if he (George, the owner) also bought guns for resale, which he does. Although I tried to look up the shotgun and rifle to get an estimated value I was unable to find information. 1. June 19th at the shop he told me the price he can sell them for on consignment and I followed his expert advice. He was to call me when either sold. 2. June 21st my brother-in-law (husbands brother) told me they were priced on my consignment slip at about half or less than the value of what George could sell for. 3. June 23rd a friend of mine who lives near the shop went in as I was unavailable until the following morning. My Browning gun was still in the showcase unsold which I have proof of. 4. June 24th I arrived at the opening of the shop and George told me it sold and couldn't give me the cash fast enough. When I parked I could see him standing behind the counter were my friend saw the gun and ran to the back as I was walking in. George said it sold Saturday but since I know it was there the Tuesday after I was perplexed. And if it just sold there wasn't enough time to get the background check of the buyer to release the gun to buyer. 5. When I asked why I wasn't notified he told me he forgot. 6. I the asked about my rifle and he just went to back and seconds later came with cash per consignment slip and said he sold that also but forgot to tell me. This man preys on naive, susceptible people. George is a tricky immoral, unscrupulous little man.

As a female handling the passing of my father, the Gun Room was instrumental. I was able to bring in his gun and put them up for consignment. They treated me with kindness, sympathy, respect, and were incredibly knowledgeable. It made what could have been an even more stressful time, much less so. In under 9 months they were able to sell 25 guns and I have been continually in contact and communicative. I would recommend them to anyone!

As a lifelong firearms enthusiast I have been to almost all of the in shops in the metro area and choose to do my business with George and the Gun Room. There are many larger shops that stock tons and tons of "tacticool" goodies but The Gun Room provides a different feel and level of service and knowledge. These guys are truly a wealth of knowledge and are interested in more than just pumping out cheap guns like many other shops. They take the time to know their product and educate their customers while delivering a next level customer experience and making customers feel welcome and safe in the store.

Good prices, lots of weapons and...no that's about it sadly. Called in to get pricing on 3 weapons, drove 30 min the next day to actually buy 3 weapons and cleaning supplies and ammunition from them. Staff standing around not doing much, but obviously too busy to serve you. I asked two guys to help me select the three weapons, but their lackadaisical manners and indifference really did not come across as wanting my business at all. In fact it seemed they were either doing me a favor by speaking to me or would rather be doing something else. I walked into the store with my checkbook ready to spend a few thousand dollars and walked out 30 min later never having taken it out. Their loss, I'll spend my money somewhere else where you don't have to pay extra for professional service.

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone for service on weapons. No sign that says ''cash only', I was not told this was a "cash only" establishment when placing my work order. They claimed to only accept cash when I went to pick up my gun. Also, the gun smith only completed half the work ordered, then tried to up sell me on the other half of the work by doubling the originally quoted price, and claiming it would take 2-3 more weeks to finish. The sales side may be great, but I wouldn't recommend the service to anyone.

I came to this business looking for advice and help deciding what I wanted in a firearm. The staff were all very kind and patient, allowing me to see many different guns and explain them in detail. Coming from someone who is not a gun expert, they created a great experience and I highly recommend these guys over any big box store.

This store is so awesome! My 18 year old boys could've sat in there for hours. Huge selection! Very nice employees. Awesome that K-Love is playing on the radio! We will definitely be back to this store for all of our firearms needs! 5 stars!

I took a Marlin 35 rifle in for an ejecting problem (not all the time but it would jam every now and then) the gun smith said it would take maybe 2 weeks and probably just needed a good cleaning. Cool. After almost 2 months he called and said it was ready but the stock was cracked did I want him to fix it?? Of coarse I said yes. I picked up the rifle and paid the bill (very reasonable I thought) At that time he told me he test fired it and all was good. Awesome so far right? Fast forward to now. I finally got time to go shoot it and the first round did not eject?? I picked out the spent shell and looked close to find NO ejector at all in the gun????? I took the rifle in almost laughing about it and was told "NO WAY they would have done that". He took the rifle in the back and came back a few minutes later to say "we can order an ejector and charge you for it". I said really so you take no responseability for this? He said "the gun must have come in without the ejector....... So the gunsmith fixed my gun and failed to notice NO ejector??? Really? Funny thing is when I dropped it off he commented on how good the ejector looked at the time. Maybe they should stick to sales and not smithing. Never will spend money there again.

Highly recommend Gun Shop for brokering the sale of a gun collection. They provide realistic prices. Communicate very well. Keep 15% or $50 whichever is more. Good honest people who know their business.

This place is huge. they have a variety of guns and are conveniently located one block off Colfax. Those are the best things i can say about the place. I have been a customer for several years buying some ammunition, etc. The guns however are overpriced and anyone willing to do some research would discover that, but the truth is most people don't, so they overpay, it is what it is. The biggest problem with this place is the owner. He takes advantage of people looking to sell their guns. I have witnessed this little guy ridicule and berate someone who knew almost nothing about their firearms, just so he can bully them into selling to him for a small fraction of what he will sell it for... and to add insult to injury he celebrated his "victory" the moment the customer left the store in a very loud and ostentatious manner. This kind of behavior is just childish and a very low brow way of doing business. Taking advantage of someone like that is probably his way of over-compensating for his inadequacies in other aspects of his life. There are many other gun stores with better people that i would rather give my money to.

As a new gun owner I took my gun and paperwork in and purchased ammo before my first lesson. They sold me some Federal brand ammo that doesn't work in my gun. They say "no refunds" so no way will I purchase anything else from them.

Went into the gun room today to look for some SCARS on consignment however they did not have any. This shop has everything else though, and if you are looking to buy a 1911 you might not want to go anywhere else. They have a big variety of pelican cases and pistols galore. I showed up at 9:50 and they open at 10:00 and I was the second customer there. I don't think they accept credit since it is a small business so bring cash or check. The only reason I only gave 4/5 stars is the inside is nice and clean but the carpet is most likely from 1980 and has some odor.

I've been going to The Gun Room for over 5 years and won't purchase from anyone else. I've purchased, sold and consigned many firearms. If an item I want isn't in stock, they always offer to special order it and have done so many times. I'm always asking questions and although I'm sure I'm annoying, they get answered. More than a few times, I've been in the store and someone has brought in a gun that didn't work and they fixed it while the customer waited. Went in last week and traded for a HK45, very happy.

I absolutely love this place the owner and employees are extremely knowledgeable, the store has an enormous range of firearms, and are always fairly priced. I've bought nearly all my guns here never had any issues

As others, I purchased many firearms and ammo from George at the Gun Room. I even paid more than prices I saw at other stores because I thought we had a good relationship. I guess we did, as long as I was paying him. I took an old(1897) Parker Bros shotgun in to sell on consignment. It sat for months. So I went to pick it up, and the employees could not find it. They searched everywhere. Thankfully I had my receipt for the consignment. If I hadn't, I know what would have happened. I know, because George came in, rushed around, and came out with a red face and said they had just sold my shotgun....THAT DAY! Wow, can you imagine my luck? Problem is, other employee had already told me it had been gone for over a month. Funny....I never got a call to say "Come get your money.!" Born at night, yes. But NOT last night. Conservatively, I have purchased personally, or brought friends and/or family to the Gun Room and they purchased, well over 25 firearms. I have also traded guns purchased from him back on new ones. Got raped every time. But alas, that was my fault as I saw something in a display case I had to have. And then with Luke Volkmann, and what happened there, it really should have plywood over the windows and a for sale sign. NEVER, EVER, AGAIN........Look around, talk to people. Then spend your money where you feel right about. And yes, if you want to come after me Georgie, I welcome it. Legally, or any other way you might think is a good idea. I promise it isn't.

I have been quite shocked by reading the reviews written here. I have been so well taken care at the Gun Room. Every time I have been there I have seen a hard working staff and happy customers. Personally these guys have been quite fair to me. They have sold quite a few of my guns for me and I have bought quite a few from them. Anytime I have called and asked for advice what they told me has been spot on. I have even called to see if a gun I was interested in buying from SOMEONE ELSE was a good deal, and they were happy to help me. The obviously cared about me as a person, and not just using me to make a few bucks for themselves. Even though I'm not a "big spender" in the gun world I get treated like I am. They make a point to greet me by name. I highly recommend this place to everybody I know, and none of my friends have ever made a single complaint about The Gun Room. You won't be disappointed by shopping here!

These guys are great! Their selection is a little bit limited as far as accessories go, but they have a good selection if firearms. The staff is very nice, especially for a gun shop, I would recommend The Gun Shop to a friend. Fair prices and overall good store.

I needed a rifle rebarreled and ended up going through the Gun Room by way of a referral from a local shop. The gunsmith/machinist did the work and the rifle fires, but the service I recieved from the Gun Room was very poor. I was asking questions to what I thought were gun experts but they were evasive and incomplete with their answers. They seemed to be less enthusiastic about their line of work. I recieved a call that my rifle was ready, but when I picked up the rifle, it was in pieces so I had to wait about 40 minutes for them to finish. Then they forgot to throw in the original barrel (worth $100 according to them) and offered to ship it to me for $10 or I could drive across town and pick it up whenever. I wish I would have done my research and found a gunsmith to work with directly.

I had to give one star to rate this business. After suffering a horrible tragic loss. I took many guns into my personal gun store. I worked with these guys and purchased many guns and referred friends from out of state to call and order their sought after guns from the "gun room". On this particular day, I walked into an empty store with just the "manager/owner" sitting in his office. I had a ruger that was seized and I needed some advice. I trusted that they would take care of me since I had been buying guns from them since the 90's. Boy was I wrong. I showed him my gun, after waiting 20 minutes for him to get off the phone and he said there was nothing he could do. I asked him if I could fix it and he said no, that it wasn't worth it at all. I had 3 other guns waiting in the car for consignment and was planning on getting them until he said "I will give u 100 bucks for it, for parts!". I was appalled. I knew what I had... I knew the worth... And I was treated like a stupid blonde woman. I told him thanks but no thanks and I left, vowing to NEVER go in there again. I ended up unseizing the gun myself. Cleaning it. Polishing it. Having it re-blued by Tim Corwin, local gunsmith, and it came out gorgeous. I then googled another gun store and found "green mountain" guns. I now have bought over 10k worth of guns. I have sold about 5k and I am said hello to, by name, every single time I walk inside their establishment. Sooo needless to say, it was a blessing in disguise. The same gun that I was offered 100 dollars for parts ended up selling during consignment for 950.00 and that's was negotiated. I felt so betrayed, and belittled by a complete chauvinistic man that I have told everyone that I am friends with and all my buddies from out of state to never buy from them again. There is nothing like a scorned woman and this woman doesn't shop at the "gun room" anymore!!!!!!!!

I had purchased a couple of rifles from the gun room, and even had an old one reblued, which was done well. In early Dec.'06 when I was in the market for a particular rifle, I talked to a salesman named Mike who quoted a price which I found to be quite reasonable. I was wanting to get it as a Christmas gift to myself and was assured that it would arrive in plenty of time. I paid the agreed price up front, agreeing to pay the sales tax upon delivery. Well, Christmas came and went, and no gun. i was told that there was such demand for that gun, that the jobbers had none in stock,and that as soon as it arrived they would notify me. Toward the end of Jan., I checked with another shop who informed me that their supplier had 78 of those rifles. I immediately ordered one and went to the gun room to get my money refunded, which did without hesitation. What I think happened was that Mike, who was no longer employed as of sometime in Dec., misquoted the price, which was a little more than $100.00 less than what I ended up paying. Knowing they weren't going to make as much as they wanted, they never ordered the gun, knowing that eventually, I would come in for a refund. If they had told me from the beginning that the quote was in error, I would have understood and paid the difference. They instead chose to mislead and string me along for two months. A guy named George, who claimed to be the owner, was pretty arrogant about the whole ordeal. I haven't been back since, and fail to understand why they are still in business.

Gouging people - recently there has been a bit of a run on ARs - I called them to check on pricing, and they were charging almost $1,000 more on a Daniel Defense M4 than MSRP - oh and this version was still actually in stock to order directly from DD. Pretty ridiculous upcharge if you ask me, not going there.

I have no clue how these guys can be rated like this on Yelp - They have an amazing selection of ancient collectables/curios to modern shooting tools. The owner is a great guy as well. He sat down with me and evaluated a handgun that is 70+ ears old. When I go t up to leave, believing him to be in a hurry as I just dropped in...he said "I am in no hurry if you have more questions". I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and I can't remember anyone ever saying that to me, especially a business owner. The staff was super knowledgable and helpful. If I were a Colorado resident, this is where I would buy my next firearm. Amazing Shop!

These guys our good. Despite the reviews by some of these people, I have always found the staff to be knowledgeable, friendly and decent. I have purchased three guns from them over the years and each has been a solid piece. In my opinion some of the people who are posting here are people who really don't understand much about firearms. The gun room deserves your patronage, it will certainly see mine if I am ever looking for another firearm.
