Absolutely excellent service and food throughout. Yes, expensive looking, but its a multiple award winning restaurant with a top chef (and support staff of course) 9 course meal, so save yourself, you'll regret it if you don't. P.S. Drinks aren't hugely expensive either, which was a nice surprise. Food to follow.... Coffee and Petit fours, to finish... no photo... Sorry

I had such a lovely afternoon tea recently for my daughter’s birthday at Plas Dinas couldn’t recommend it enough. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious. The sandwiches were fresh, the cakes and treats were amazing, and the whole experience felt really special. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, which made it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the afternoon. The staff were also incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely come back again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a lovely afternoon

We recently celebrated our mum’s birthday with afternoon tea at Plas Dinas and it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. There were 14 of us in total, and the venue handled our large group so smoothly, making everything feel relaxed and enjoyable. The setting was beautiful and welcoming, perfect for such a special occasion. We were all seated together comfortably, which made the celebration feel even more meaningful. The afternoon tea itself was fantastic. The sandwiches were fresh and full of flavour, the scones were warm, light and baked to perfection with generous amounts of clotted cream local welsh butter and jam. The cakes were absolutely delicious. Everything was beautifully presented and felt like a real treat. One of the highlights was the tea selection — with 15 loose leaf teas to choose from, there was something for everyone. It really elevated the experience and made it feel extra special. The staff were attentive, friendly, and incredibly accommodating throughout — especially with a party of 14! Nothing felt like too much trouble. Overall, it was the perfect way to celebrate her birthday. We’re so grateful for such a memorable afternoon and would highly recommend it for any special occasion.

Stunning food in a lovely setting. Chef Daniel is not only a lovely soul, he is a talent. Superb use of top Welsh ingredients in an ever changing menu. Every course was exquisite. We'll be back.

We had the 8pm session for the evening meal and it was lovely. Service from the beginning was attentive and the sitting room we started in was so plush and very beautifully appointed. Entrement was delicious and the canapés were probably the best thing we ate for flavour and creativity, absolutely delicious. After this, we were taken into a cosy dining area with maybe 5 others couples and served the velouté which was very good. The bread and charcoal sea salt was a wonderful touch. We had champagne, which was excellent, with our dinner but their wine list and suggested pairings were a great addition and there was a good range although there were limited whites ( the menu did favour reds in their defence). For starter, the ham hock was a little underwhelming, though tasty it needed something to balance the strength of flavour from the ham but the scallop was very very delicious, definitely a favourite. The main of Welsh beef was beautifully cooked but the short rib with mustard and pickle was the star. Unfortunately the triple cooked chips were wedges not chips so lacked chunkiness. New potatoes were amazing. Sorbets and pre- dessert were great. Desserts were good. Overall we had a wonderful meal and those serving were knowledgeable and friendly but some of the staff were quite new and this was reflected in their service level, but I imagine over time this would change. Definitely recommend for the price point, and hopefully they get that star they're aiming for.

What can I say such magnificent food wonderful glamour and classical decadence and impeccable staff we shall return.

We were visiting the UK and had a few days in Carnavon North Wales for a week and was told about the Gun Room in Dines. I had high expectations for this establishment and was told it was fantastic! The location was stunning, the drive down to the restaurant was lovely, the building was amazing. We had sat down had drinks and had ordered our food. This is where it all went a little sour! I felt that the young man serving came across as apathetic and inattentive, and seemed disengaged and lacked the enthusiasm you’d expect from a great establishment like this. My partner was put out at this and later found out from another member of staff that his name was Aled The food we had was excellent, can not fault it. The venue is lovely and the food was excellent; unfortunately, the poor service overshadowed the whole experience. I dont think we would return again, such a shame!
