I recently visited The Halal Guys and honestly, the food was amazing! Everything was fresh and flavorful. The chicken and gyro over rice was so well-seasoned, and the white sauce? So good. Portions were generous, and the staff was friendly too. Definitely coming back!

Google
The Halal Guys is our favorite neighborhood spot to pick up a fast and tasty bite! The chicken wings, as odd as it sounds to get at a halal restaurant, are some of the best I’ve ever had. The gyro and accompanying rice and veggies are also delicious and the staff is always so friendly. We’re moving away from Boston soon, and safe to say this is one restaurant I’m going to miss the most.

Ordered pick up. The only good thing here were the fries. Crinkle cut type fries. The falafel was decent. But I’ve never had one before to compare. I got a baklava that was not good in the slightest. Got a wrap that was the most greasiest thing ever. I felt so sick. I couldn’t eat more than a couple bites tbh. Maybe I got bad things because the reviews are good? Greasy big heavy mess.

Google
NYC Halal Guys was my first and brings back so many good memories. I stopped by on Thursday for a late lunch and my taste buds definitely missed the delightful mix of white sauce with a lil bit of red, on top of the yummy beef and perfect rice. The regular platter is perfect to share or to split for 2 meals.

Got a falafel sandwich and as one can see in the picture, you get a lot of food! It wasn’t the best falafel I’ve ever had but overall a great sandwich! Service was friendly and fast and it was pretty busy around dinner time!

Fun experience. I was stopping by downtown for a dentist appointment, since I was there i ended up discovering the halal guys. Environment is very clean. Workers are attentive, and friendly. Food was very fresh, and delicious. Service was quick and easy. I appreciate this place and may see myself here again in the future!

It was my friend’s birthday and we visited to have some yummy food. Umaima is wonderful with the customers and even took an effort to bring my friend a surprise for her birthday. (A candle on a cookie and some cute balloons) would love to visit back again.! Amazing work. Love them❤️

Yelp
I love ordering takeout from Halal Guys. They always fill it to the brim and add plenty of condiments. I got the combo plate with wings and sliced chicken. The wings are newer to the menu, and I was pleasantly surprised. The meat was super tender and flavorful. The sliced chicken is always my go-to because it's so tender and moist. I like mine with the white sauce and BBQ sauce. If you're super sauce heavy and want your food swimming in it, then I would order extra sauce. Otherwise, I think it's the perfect amount

Yelp
My memories of Halal Guys will forever be connected to the late nights lined up at their original 53rd & 6th cart in NYC. They've since expanded; when perusing Boston dinner options on a food delivery app, the familiar name jumped out at me. I ordered a regular-size Falafel Platter ($14.49 on the delivery app) which comes with pita, tomatoes, & lettuce over rice. The rice & falafel aren't as soft & fluffy as I would've liked (it didn't have anything to do with transit time as our food arrived quickly, still hot & fresh.) Much better when combined with the veggies & lashings of white sauce & hot sauce provided. Large portion, nice & comforting flavors, however I'm looking for a more pillowy mouthfeel. My companions were happy with their platters of Chicken Wings ($13.99, choice of sauce) & Spicy BBQ Chicken ($15.49.) Times sure have changed. I love the convenience of delivery to my warm, comfortable hotel room; those exciting, exhausted, often drunken 1am's in the city was a lifetime ago.

Yelp
Halal Guys in Boston serves solid, tasty Middle Eastern food, with flavorful proteins, gyro, or falafel over rice or in a pita, topped with their signature white sauce and hot sauce (optional). While the food is good, the prices can feel a bit high for what you get if you stuck with small, especially since the portion size difference between the small and regular for the extra $1-1.50 more is worth more. Service was quick and easy, luckily it wasn't that busy that I was able to take my time to order. Overall, if you're craving Halal Guys and don't mind spending a little more, it's a solid choice for the area. Regular platter is $13-14 but not sure what I added to make it more expensive then originally thought. 2x Regular Platter and 1x bottle soda totaled to $37.

Yelp
This Halal Guys is solid and dependable. The platters I get from here are very consistent, and always taste so good. The service here is kind & quick as well. There is seating here too, though it was a bit crowded. Prices have gone up significantly since before the pandemic as expected in today's economy, so keep that in mind when dropping by--now getting halal may not be the most affordable/bang for your buck cheap bite depending on what you are looking for. Nevertheless, this Halal Guys is a good spot when you're getting the craving!

Yelp
This place is so good for take-out. I usually get a chicken plate with rice. The portions are large and I always have enough for a couple of meals. I love that they give you some pita with your meal plate - it's great to sop up the white sauce (please, please, do yourself a favor and get extra sauce - it's garlicy and delicious)!

Yelp
Halal guys locations, I'm glad they have multiple in Boston because NYC 53rd and 6th can be a bit far haha. Though i do think the cart has its charm and hits a bit different, Stuart was the first in our area before South Bay just opening up. Downtown is tough for parking during peak times which is the only real PITA. Aside that they have outdoor seating, plenty of space inside and the staff are quick and nice. Yes they do charge for extra sauce to go, but they have a fridge with bottles to fill up your plates before you go as well. Always get beef with rice onions jalepenos and peppers! Good for two meals for me half and half. Will be back on next craving

Yelp
Ordered through UberEats. Great value, nicely packaged. Looks unseasoned but packs a lot of flavor.

Yelp
I ordered food twice from this location of Halal Guys. First time was after arriving in Boston after a long flight from SFO. The food was excellent. Fresh ingredients and a good price. My picky eater daughter loved it! After our week trip long trip In New England we arrived back in Boston before flying out. My daughter requested Halal Guys again. We bought food to take on the airplane with us. Again the food was fresh, delicious and a good price. I'd also like to add that the folks working in the restaurant were so friendly and welcoming. I would go back just for the friendliness!

Yelp
(I got the regular platter for $12.99 which is only $1 more than the small platter and has a lot of food. You can choose your choice of protein for the same price) The price is reasonable, the portions are big and the food tastes great. I typically get a chicken, beef or falafel platter and every time the food was great. The workers are very nice and friendly too. Short walk from Charles street if you park near the commons or public gardens.

Yelp
This place was quick and friendly. Pick your poison (not literally) of what you want a wrap or a fork because you're not gonna be hungry after indulging in this one. My recommendation would go for the platter get the regular because it's only a dollar more and it's full of lettuce, rice, and meat of your choice whether you want Gyro, chicken, or falafel. For the platter you get to pick all of the different toppings whether you want onions, jalapeños, hummus, white sauce, hot sauce, you name it loaded up. Warning - if you don't like that heat, don't get the hot sauce maybe try the packet, this "red sauce" is kind of fiery... one step, two striped three stripe, depending on what you want. No pics to share on this one, we were too hungry to make sure we took pictures.

Yelp
Had dinner here before a show in the theatre district on a Tuesday night. We just beat the rush at 6 pm as we sat to eat and the place filled up with other patrons also dining in, and folks getting take out and picking up delivery orders. We each ordered bowls filled with rice and salad; I had falafel (4 delicious balls) plus added extra toppings of spicy hummus (a little too thin/loose but tasted good) and babaganoush (very good); the hubs had chicken with the spicy hummus and babaganoush. Overall, for what appears to be a little fast food joint, the food was really good - great quality, tasty, fresh, and good portions. We were also pleased to see they were so busy, and everyone who dined in and sat near us really appeared to enjoy their food too. We also observed an unhoused person come in off the street and ask for help - the ladies behind the counter treated him with dignity and respect, dished up a plate for him and sent him on his way. I was really touched by their kindness and willingness to serve him with no fuss. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you are in the area for a show and want something that is a good value, tasty, quick and fresh.

Yelp
4.5/5 for flavor, portion, and price! The only critique would be to char the chicken more, but the beef gyro and falafel were cooked well!
google avatar

Yelp
I used to line up at their food cart when I was going to college in NYC. I remember the long line but was so worth it. They have since expanded and now have restaurants. The food is not as good as I remember but still decent. I got a combo 2 type of meat platter and it was fresh and good.
google avatar

Yelp
Legitimately some of the best app delivery food I've ever had in Boston. Got the falafel and chicken plates and man, every single bite was delicious and packed with flavor. Huge portions, their own white sauce packets which are amazing... great price, great food. Can't wait to order again.

Yelp
As a Jersey girl, I'm embarassed to say I've never had Halah Guys in New York City. However, the Boston version did not disappoint. I tried the basic Beef Gyro Platter, which was loaded up with plenty of meat and rice. To my surprise, the meat wasn't too greasy and had a pretty nice flavor. I do wish they threw on some more vegetables, however. I added some of the hot sauce to my bowl, which was actually quite spicy! The location itself is nothing special, just what you would expect from a fast food joint. But, you're not coming for the service or the ambiance, you're coming for the food. I could see this being a good spot for either a quick lunch or a late night snack. Now I'll just have to visit one of the New York City locations and see what the hype is all about!

Juliet T.

Yelp
Great service and even better food! Definitely come to this location, the staff was super welcoming and gave generous petitions!

Sam L.

Yelp
Plater meal comes with a big salad and lots of rice. Lacking meat but that may be ok because the beef is overcooked and dry. You get a choice 3 toppings but only two are free! Hummus is premium price watch your bill. I received one hummus and was charged for two. Advertising for meal is 12.99. I ended up paying 25.00 for meal and drink. Better off going to a real restaurant and get a better meal. Staff was friendly
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, very friendly service. Casual atmosphere and very affordable. Spicy is quite hot but yummy.

Yelp
i personally don't get the hype about this, the food was just bland like no flavor and soggy.

Yelp
As someone who loves a good halal food truck, I was excited to try the food at this location, especially given the reputation Halal Guys has in NYC. It's also in a very convenient spot, tucked away in Downtown, making it ideal for a quick bite to eat. Despite the convenience, I didn't enjoy the overall experience here as much as I hoped. The taste and quality of the ingredients were really the biggest disappointment here. It was definitely edible but it just wasn't very good, especially when comparing it against other halal food I've had. I ordered the small platter with beef, veggies, and white sauce, which came served over some rice. The veggies and meat tasted like it had been sitting out for awhile, but the rice was decently cooked. It's unfortunate because this location (and other similar chains in the area) have also just gotten so flooded with delivery drivers that it just hasn't become a very nice spot to sit and eat at. I'll probably give this place another chance but it's definitely not met the expectations I had for it.

Yelp
I had a falafel platter for takeout. I love that they have a great vegan option- I just wish they had vegan sauce options as well. All the food was pretty good, and I especially loved the falafel. Portion sizes are decently large. Would recommend!

Yelp
This was one of the very few authentic Indian take out & delivery restaurants - small place but big flavors ! I had the chicken gyro platter which was delicious and had a great spicy kick to it - not for people who aren't spicy/heat people - perfect for me!

Puckala B.

Yelp
I was taken aback at how bland this alleged chicken shawarma sandwich was. I think there are much better shawarma shops than this for sure. Avoid unless you have no other option.

Yelp
We walked past this place earlier in the day and then decided to order delivery for dinner. Food came pretty fast and was still warm which I like because who likes cold food?? We ordered the chicken platter, beef and chicken gyro sandwich, 4 falafels and side of rice. First of all the portions are good, and the food is fresh and filling. Very reasonable prices. You can see the platter full of food - although I will say the platter could have used more rice. But there was plenty of chicken and it was tender and I really liked the soft fluffy pita. Lettuce, tomatoes, onions and green peppers complemented everything nicely. The hubs liked his gyro overall - lots of meat, very filling. I thought the falafels were great! I usually don't like falafels because I find them dry. But these were warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, not dry at all. I ate two of them pretty quickly he he. Only a couple things - while the meats were flavorful, we've had much better elsewhere - even from other halal type places. Also the food came with this white sauce packet and a hot sauce packet, but no sauce on the food itself. The white sauce was okay. You definitely had to add sauce to both the platter and the gyro, otherwise it felt a bit dry to eat. And then the white sauce itself was just alright. Like I said, the other place has better sauces that come in little containers in addition to the packet sauce. Here, you had to pay more if you wanted additional sauces so I don't know what those sauces are like coz I was not about to pay another couple dollars just for those. Overall a good experience to try out once.

Yelp
Great food! great service and staff! Great location! favorite place in boston. Always come here.

Yelp
I think I was eating food. I'm pretty sure because the crunch of the lettuce in the felafel pita sandwich was reminiscent. The chopped tomatoes were familiar. Mostly there was texture. I kept darting out my olfactories for flavor. But there wasn't any. Thanks, Halal Guy. I kind of enjoyed drifting into your bright lit emporium on Stuart across from the W. High ceilings. Cherry red counters. A lot of bustle. No flavor though.

Yelp
I was recently in Boston for a medical trip and was looking for something new to try. I spent a good hour scrolling thru all the food delivery apps. After pouring through positive reviews, I settled on The Halal Guys. I ordered the Beef Gyro Sandwich. The pita is fresh and soft and holds up well to the meat they pile onto the pita. However, I'd strongly suggest ordering the Platters instead if it's being delivered. By the time it's delivered, the pita is just soaked in grease. It was so good the first time, I had to try it again! This time, I went with the Chicken and Beef Gyro Platter. It was filled with special rice, tomatoes, lettuce, pita slices, beef, & chicken. I highly recommend ordering extra pitas- you can easily get two meals out of a Regular size platter. The food was delicious. Hot. Fresh. Delivered quickly. I'd highly recommend it to others who love Gyro-style meats. Pro Tip: The red sauce is HOT. This is coming from someone who loves hot and spicy. The white sauce is phenomenal and will put out the burn. I suggest ordering an extra white sauce with your order.
google avatar

Melissa R.

Yelp
We got 2 chicken sandwiches--one was the new spicy bbq--and they were delicious. The white sauce is way too good and the pita was so soft and fresh. We ordered ahead and they were ready in like 5 minutes. The staff were super friendly and the shop was clean! What more could you ask for?

Ellie S.

Yelp
An AMAZING experience. Delicious food, huge portions, and super welcoming service. I'm looking forward to finishing my leftovers!

Yelp
I was here back in May. I was staying in a nearby hotel and stopped in here to pick up dinner. When I got to the counter, I noticed that they had a new item, savory beef. I'm always down to try something new, so I ordered a platter with savory beef. However, the employee seemed confused. After asking me twice, she finally turned around to look at the menu board. Besides the standard ingredients, I had her add chopped green peppers and onions. I got a bottle of Snapple to go with my dinner. While the savory beef wasn't bad, I think I'll stick to their tried and true chicken platter for my next visit.

Yelp
Halal Guys has stepped up their game during this COVID19 pandemic and have made the necessary changes in order to not only keep their customers safe but also their employees! Bravo. You have to wear a mask in order to step into this establishment. They've also set up a barrier so that you're at least 6 feet away from the staff. They are still serving up the same, delicious food. Is it the same as the infamous food cart in NYC? Almost. The thing that sets Halal Guys above all other halal places is that red sauce! It's super hot but doesn't mess up the flavor of your food. You don't have to add much to bring on the heat. I love practically drowning my platters with white sauce and adding at least 4 lines of that red sauce. The beef gyro sandwich is also on point. They really fill it up so you get a full sandwich. I also dig how that pita bread is so soft.
google avatar

Eric D.

Yelp
These folks come into my office every once in awhile and it's one of the best pop ups that comes into office. It's worth all the rage imo. The folks that come in provide great service and the food is great. Falafels runs out so fast so we definitely have to line up early. My go to is the chicken platter with rice and hummus. Loads of flavor in the chicken and goes so well the red and white sauce they offer. The pita bread is great as well. Nice and moist to go along with the hummus. If you're looking for some heat, red sauce will bring the heat. It's HOT and I have high tolerance. The hot sauce taste great as well. The white sauce brings a bit of sweetness to offer a balance taste. Enjoy.
google avatar

Evan H.

Yelp
The food was very good, we got the falafel sandwich which was great! Loved their white sauce especially. However we were caught off guard by their hot sauce. Everyone in my group put a little too much hot sauce on our food and had to cool off their mouth with some carrots. And the worst part was one person got it in their eye which really sucked for them. The service was also very quick and easy.

Mike G.

Yelp
I tried out their relatively new location at South Bay Mall as Chipotle had long lines. I ordered the Beef/Chicken Gyro combo. It was really delicious and the serving of meat was very generous. I would say the taste of the meat was far better than Chipotle without the long lines. Many people don't realize that the whole Al Pastor style of cooking comes from the Middle East originally. I will definitely return.

Kubilay P.

Yelp
Terrible staff they are acting like they are selling something very important exclusive food thats just an shawarma and you guys the one who is just serving food. They are talking each other in their language while you just waiting and having fun with you they must change their staff.
google avatar

MacKenzie G.

Yelp
I love the Halal guys in New York so when I saw this I immediately had to get some. I was so blown away by my experience. I didn't know that the Halal guys could get even better, but it did here. Just WOW.
google avatar

Meeta A.

Yelp
I have always loved the Falafal bowl at The Halal Guys. Unfortunately, the quantity has gone down. But the good thing is quality and taste is still awesome.
google avatar

Karla M.

Yelp
I had this before a few months back but was craving it again and was it in the area so it was perfect. This cost about $12 and my mom and I shared it so it's definitely a good portion size. I do wish one of the components had a unique taste to it because I find that each bite taste the same so it can get repetitive. But don't get me wrong, it's still delicious. The white sauce to me almost taste as if ranch and sour cream had a baby and the spicy sauce is very spicy so I would be cautious as to how much you ask for. The place is very clean, the staff is kind, and they have outdoor seating. It is Boston so don't expect a good parking experience--I would recommend walking here or talking public transportation.
google avatar

David V.

Yelp
perfect! perfect perfect!! if i can have my birthday at Halal Guys, i would!!! Staff here are efficient. they give BIG scoops and theyre super awesome! Here's what I ordered and my thoughts: 1) regular combo platter. comes with chicken and gyro, rice, lettuce&tomatoes, and pits bread. i usually dont like adding other toppings to it.. you can if you'd like. I think the basics are beyond enough. get some white sauce on it, YUM and beware--- this is the spiciest red sauce ever! delicious! 2) french fries. idk what it is, but Halal Guys FRESH french fries hit differently. Be sure to request fresh ones because the ones that sit out arent hot and crispy.. the reason why i love this location so much is that they have a condiment mini fridge where u can add your white or red sauce yourself! i love this idea, and more halal guys locations should have this!
google avatar

Jimmy N.

Yelp
Needed a quick dinner because it was getting late. On my way to pick up my wife, i decided to settle for Halal Guys. For some reason it doesn't hit the same way when you get it in New York at their original cart. It was decent but it didn't hit... asked for an extra pack of hot sauce, she wanted to charge me $0.75. Really? Idk... if you're giving two big bags of white sauce, I would think it would come with two hot sauce, also. Instead you only get one tiny bag of hot sauce that is probably good enough for 2-3 bites. Probably won't be going back anytime soon.
google avatar

Abhiram A.

Yelp
Halal guys is a fast food chain- based in Boston, King of Prussia (yes), Yale Univ and NYC. The quality of food is very consistent in all these place and really good. I always get the regular chicken platter with fresh chicken, some veggies, the pita and their signature white sauce, which is delicious. They also have a hot sauce, but I only get a drop of it. I tolerate very high spice levels, but indulging too much on the hot sauce can send you to the bathroom for a few hours :). Overall, great chain, great prices and great offerings.
google avatar

Courtney F.

Yelp
Having just moved here from NY, I was so excited to see a Halal Guys location while out for the weekend. I dragged my boyfriend in and ordered a huge plate of falafel (yes!). Unfortunately, there are so many things that are just not right about this location. We asked for a few DROPS of the hot sauce, and they proceeded to slather our plate in it. Luckily, we are ok with spicy, but it was a little excessive. It was a bit pricey for the amount of food you actually get, but it is what it is. The falafel was dry and average - nothing to write home about. Here comes the bad part...we both ended up so sick that night and all through the next day. Not sure if it was due to the bucket of spicy sauce that we had just eaten, or a cleanliness issue, but we will not be returning anytime soon. I would suggest spending your money elsewhere!

Yelp
Bummer. I was really hoping and expecting this to be as good as the New York Halal Guys. Unfortunately, not quite there yet. The rice was cooked well, the tomatoes and lettuce were fresh, and the pita was soft and warm, though a very small portion. The falafel was average, nothing special and on the dry side. They're not cooked hot to order, but already cooked and just sitting in a metal serving dish waiting for plating. My colleagues liked their shawarma platter (regular $9.99), but as a vegetarian, the only option was falafel (small $8.99). Also, I asked for "just a tiny bit" of white sauce. The guy started squirting it on strong and I stopped him to say, "just a little bit, that's enough." Didn't matter. He kept going. Too much for my liking. And if this is his idea of a tiny bit, I would never want the full amount. Good thing I insisted on "seriously, just a tiny bit" of the hot sauce, because that stuff has kick! Loved the flavor, but a little bit goes a long way. The place was clean and everyone was friendly. Has potential but needs a little work to get their food up to the level of their NYC compadres.

Yelp
I heard about this place in New York City called Halal Guys, but I never got to try it until I found about this location right in Boston. First thing I noticed is that the menu is super simple. I can respect that. Choose sandwich or platter, and your choice of protein. I got a beef gyro platter. Service was super fast and we were in and out in 3 minutes. The gyro was pretty good. Savory and plentiful. The rice was also cooked very well and delightfully seasoned. Finally, the white sauce brought the whole platter together nicely. Portion size is good - I felt full at the end. It was a nice meal, but it was pretty pricey. Granted, this is in downtown Boston where everything is pricey. Would I drive all the way into the city to get it again? No. Do I think it's worth the money? Potentially... Is it still good food? I'd say so. Compared to other Mediterranean places, I think they are better than Chicken and Rice Guys. Maybe not as good as Garbanzo Fresh. And also not as good as Naf Naf (from the Chicagoland region).

Jessica M.

Yelp
The service was awful along with judgmental looks from the minimum wage workers. The workers didn't speak english and couldn't understand me, as I could not understand them. The meal is dry unless you slather it in "white sauce". Limited seating available maybe 8-10 chairs in total. Not impressed by this "popular" place.

Yelp
I usually order delivery from here during late night dinner/meal. The food is solid and price is unbeatable. No complaint here. However, I don't know whether they actually give you extra veggies when requested for such via the DoorDash app. If they don't give extra then I would recommend removing such options in the DoorDash app.

Yelp
Location is small but very busy since it's located right by the nightclub scene. We stopped by around 10:30 pm and the line was pretty long. The employees were all friendly and talkative since they knew my friend.. It was my first time in, so I was excited to see what they had to offer. I went with the grilled chicken plate with everything on top. The food was great and the grilled chicken was delicious! Everything was fresh! Prices are reasonable and the food is good! Oh and yes definitely fellll right in love with the white sauce! Yumm!
