I just moved to the area yesterday and was on the hunt for a good spot for my first dinner, and I’m so glad I found this place. It immediately caught my attention, and it did not disappoint. First off, great bang for your buck, the “regular” portion was incredibly generous and filling. I was welcomed in by the tall gentleman with a big, genuine smile, which instantly made me feel at ease, his name was Sabri. And Natalia then helped me through the ordering process, and despite it being late and me being a first-timer, they made me feel right at home. Never once did I feel rushed or like an outsider, even by the rest of the staff who all had nothing but smiles. What really compelled me to write this review was this level of service. Natalia went above and beyond, she walked me through the menu, made thoughtful suggestions, and even encouraged me to try other items so I could really experience everything they had to offer. I ended up ordering more than I planned to lol and I’m glad I did, because everything was delicious. All in all, this was such a warm, welcoming experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the neighborhood. I’ll definitely be back (probably sooner than later). Keep up the amazing work, you’ve got something special here!

Everything was great! I was quick to write this review: - the entire store was clean and I saw staff actively cleaning/sanitizing - the bathroom was tidy - they made my friend’s falafel on the spot, tahini sauce was creamy - chicken (platter) was tender and juicy, rice was soft, lettuce and tomato were cold and crispy, pita was fresh and soft - the staff were nice and polite Very sweet people running a great business!

Nasty piece of hair in the mix after I was mixing the sauce. Disgusting. Threw the whole thing out immediately.

Great food!! Loved the wings very crunchy and soft. The bowl was great as well

Stopped in on a Wednesday at around 1:30 PM to pick up a few platters. It wasn't too busy at that time. I had the beef gyro, which is what I normally get because the chicken can be dry. The quality is pretty consistent with 53rd and 6th. I like that they have a little bit extra here - you can choose to add raw peppers and onions if you want, whereas at the cart, you don't have that option. Would definitely visit this location again the next time the halal craving hits.

Google
Nice place to get gyros and falafel . Service was good. Wait times were minimum under five minutes or so. Delivery via Uber eats was also fast to Hyatt fort Lee. Be sure to eat while hot and drench in sauce as most of the flavour is in the freshness and the sauce. The chicken gyro without the sauce can be dry and the taste isn't as appetizing. The baklava was also good all things considered. Not gourmet obviously but pretty good otherwise.

Yelp
I didn't expect to find this Halal Guys location today. It is in a busy strip mall, Linwood Plaza. I'm used to getting Halal Guys at the cart or their 14th street location so I figured this would be no different. Almost. This store had additional items, plus a few ad-ons available with the platters. I stuck with my usual order, a small chicken platter. Everything was normal, rice, chicken, salad, pita, sauce. They do have the option of adding onions, and peppers which I don't think the cart has. I'm used to reaching the front of the cart line and proclaiming 'small chicken please!'. So walking in looking at their modern menu had me a bit flummoxed. The woman putting my plate together probably sensed my confusion/discomfort and walked me through the process. In addition to the chicken, lamb and falafel meals, wings are also an option. They have a couple dessert items, along with lemonades and fountain drinks. The store itself looked clean and I chose to eat at one of the tables. While no one else was sitting in store with me, many people were in and out for pick-ups and deliveries. I'm glad I found this gem and will add it to places I'd visit again

Yelp
This is my favorite Jersey location. I go here often after 9pm when I'm craving a late night platter. Even though I come later in the evenings, food is consistently fresh and tasty. Unfortunately it isn't an exact replica of the OG cart on 53rd street, but it does the job if you can look past that. It's also a few dollars more and has smaller portions. My go-to order is a mixed chicken and beef platter with rice, lettuce, tomato, pita bread, and lots of white sauce. I like mine drenched in sauce, call me a sicko... If you're in the mood for something sweet, get the baklava! The employees are always friendly, polite, and very generous with the portions. Shout out to Mohammed (sorry for any incorrect spelling)! Download the Halal Guys app if you're a frequent flyer. You earn points that go towards freebies and discounts!

Yelp
The falafel from these guys is dry and tasteless. They are machine formed and cooked in a machine that looks like a pod coffee maker. Pita was surprisingly dry and hard given the stand had just opened. Lettuce and tomato are fine and hot sauce is not for meek or mild. Fine service at Yankee Stadium, but I'm sticking with a hot dog.

Yelp
I've been eating Halal Guys for a decade. When the street cart price was $6. I just paid $15.00 for a platter and the white sauce is rancid. It separated before I got home to eat the platter and tastes awful.

Efti S.

Yelp
I'll leave an honest review, I got to this location at 11:32pm, at 5/10/25 I have receipt, they had tray full of meat, and instead they took the previous empty tray, scraped a couple pieces of meat and gave it to us. There was LITERALLY 4-5 tiny piece of meat in the whole platter. And the dude that was making the platter is absolutely one of the rudest I've met in NY, I been here for 12 years. Real talk if ur reading this review these guys have gotten famous and they are banking off of the fame. Take ur business somewhere else instead of standing on line for shitty service and shitty meat portions. I promise you, you'll have a better experience.

Yu K.

Yelp
I get the same platter once every couple weeks and I got the same platter today and they made it way too hot so I couldn't even eat quarter of it. It was drenched with barbecue sauce and hot sauce with almost no white sauce.

Yelp
I ate my sandwich so fast I didn't get a picture lol. It was absolutely delicious. We ordered ahead of the app and when we came it was ready. The service is fast, though, so you may not even need to order ahead but great idea for large orders or during peak times. The sauce is what makes the gyro and they give you a large packet of it which I appreciated. A restaurant that does not skimp on the sauce is my kind of restaurant. Definitely recommend this spot. Staff is very friendly and vibe is nice. I would go back!

Warveen O.

Yelp
The service we received yesterday was great. The staff was friendly and accommodating, especially the woman who prepared our food! I wish we got her name. The food was delicious as well of course.

Yelp
I cant even explain how disgusting this is. I got a fountain soda. And I tasted little bits. So I dumped out the cup of soda to find this. They need to clean their fountain soda machine. It makes me question how they handle their food prep.

Yelp
Ive been going to this place for a while. Always Fresh, generous portions, and friendly staff. Alhamdulillah. Our favorite Halal Guys location.

Yelp
I recall 3am after a night out in the city, trekking out to 6th & 53rd, standing in a long line and eating a hot plate of chicken and rice in the freezing winter. Those days are long gone now but I still get to enjoy the halal guys in the convenience of an in door restaurant. It's not easy taking your food cart and bring it to a true brick and mortar while retaining the consistent quality at a larger scale. For this location at least, it was excellent. Perfect. I enjoyed every bite and chowed down like no tomorrow. If you've never had it, do yourself a favor and give it a go.

Yelp
This place was pretty disappointing. Location rides of the Halal Guys name and the only thing really up to par with the 53rd MoMa location are their pre-packaged sauces. The food here really reminds me of those knock-off trucks on 53rd hoping people accidently think those are the original cart or if the original cart's line is too long. The Good: Portion sizes were okay, a bit light. It's not packed to the top like days of old, but I haven't been to the 53rd spot in years, so maybe supply chains made them all like this? Their sauces are still legit. The Bad: The food quality here is just not it. You would also expect a restaurant would be better equipped then a street cart, but I guess it really opens your eyes to how important chefs are. These watered down expansion locations have no heart and are just sad imitations. The meats: very light on the meat. Meats are hidden underneath the field of lettuce. Think overall I'm being a little harsher than usual but I love Halal Guys. This place is named The Halal Guys, has their sauces, and their napkin/bags are labeled The Halal Guys; that's pretty much it. If you gave me a blind test of a knockoff 53rd street halal food, this, and 53rd Halal Guys, I'd probably say you gave me two knock offs. Noted, I understand Halal food isn't exclusive to Halal Guys, but carts that are literally on 53rd across of The Halal Guys named things like "The Halal Bros" are knockoffs in my books. Summary: This place is pretty much riding on its name brand to charge $13 in New Jersey for maybe half the meat of Chiptole. Horrible representor of The Halal Guys or Halal Food in general. If you average the reviews outside of the Yelp Elite opening event the place would probably be a whole star lower. Could find better halal food locally for 60-75% of the price.

Yelp
I just want to say the food in this place is good. That said their service isn't. I placed 3 orders ahead to this place for pickup. The first went great, it was ready when I got there as expected. The second time I had to stand there for 15 minutes, which is fine but not a great experience. That said as a one off it's no big deal. The 3rd time I ordered again my food wasn't ready when I got there. There was one worker in the front of the store helping someone, eventually someone came in behind me and shortly after a second employee walked out, he initially ignored me and started helping the person behind me. I asked the status of my food and if he could help me and he said he needed to cook the falafel and went back to helping the person behind me. I asked him to cancel my order as I didn't have time to stand there for and additional 15 minutes and left. He didn't cancel my order and now I am contesting the charge with Amex. Do not go here if you plan to order ahead and are counting on your food being ready.

Yelp
Halal Guys always brings me back to the long lines stretching half a block down 53rd Street ,As most Midtowners know, the hordes who gather day and night waiting for the Halal Guys, a chicken, lamb and rice cart that's become perhaps the city's most famous open-air dining destination and Now located in my new neighborhood of Fort Lee as well as around the county. Congrats guys to spreading your love !!! Still serving up the best combo platter with the highly addictive white sauce and it's dangerous cousin the HOT sweet nightmare. You can't go wrong here as they cater to many eaters with falafel, chicken , and beef options. All clean options served with rice or salad or both. Definitely come and visit and show your love for some NYC history now serving over the river in Fort Lee. Cheers

Yelp
Fast friendly service! Came here when they opened already and glad to see they have so much business already! The line moved very quickly however. I got one beef platter and one combo platter to go with extra white sauce. They also provided sides like onions, jalapeño, peppers, and olives for you to add which was a super nice touch. We took our platters to go and I'm not sure if they just had an off day or something but didn't think the food tasted as good as the Halal guys in teterboro. It was a bit too salty but yet not as flavorful as the other halal guys. Overall we still enjoyed our meal and would love to come back and try again. Location was convenient and located right next to H Mart in the same shopping center.

Yelp
Bottom line, food is good. Brings you back close enough to the experiences of eating street food in NYC. If you miss the nostalgic moments of standing on the street & gulping down a delicious plate of chicken over rice, here you go. Tried beef gyro, falafel & of course the chicken over rice plattee. Platter is served with lettuce, tomatoes & yellow rice with chicken over rice. The signatire white rice & spicy hot sauce always makes things better.

Yelp
nahed was amazing service was stunning amazing food great energy I love halal food it was one of the best spots I've ever tried
google avatar

Jay L.

Yelp
Good service here, loaded up on the white sauce and hot sauce which I appreciate. The mixed gyro sandwich was pretty good. Platter was filling, but could use a tad more rice. Their side hummus is quite good. I recommend it as a side.

Yelp
1st time checking out this new location as I pass it after coming off the GW. They have beef, chicken and or falafel. You can get it as a sandwich or in a dish w yellow rice and iceberg lettuce. Overall it was tasty but have you ever had chicken/beef gyro over rice and it was bad? The meat portions are small. They don't even overload you on rice. It's mostly iceberg shrubbery fluff w a sprinkle of tomatoes if you like. Service to make the dish was super fast but to pay took a little bit as it was handed off to a Dif guy who aside from doing the register was also prepping other peoples orders. As I said, taste wise good but at almost $13 for a dish lettuce and rice w a drop of meat that goes for $6-8 anywhere else, hard pass. If you want to charge a premium or double the cost of anywhere else, then you have to stand out somehow. More meat, free fixings...ect. An established name doesn't justify twice the price. Halal Guys out! Price ain't kosher

Yelp
We've been to the Halal Guys in Fort Lee before for a Yelp Elite event. That was during their soft opening, so we returned a few weeks later to check them out while they were officially opened. Still just as great as the soft opening! The portion sizes and the quality of the meat is just as great as the original stall at 53rd and 6th. After two very mediocre platters at their lower Manhattan storefront, we swore off Halal Guy storefronts. But we are very happy to report that Fort Lee store front is a winner. They do not skimp on the white sauce here and they're super friendly and nice. Meats were fresh, juicy, and abundant in the platter. You can tell they're not serving you meat that's just been sitting there for hours. I'm so happy that there's a Halal Guys that we can trust to be good so close to us - and we don't have to trek out to midtown.

Yelp
Went during Yelp event and also a previous frequenter of the teterboro location - overall very good quality fast casual food! I usually just get the platter but also tried the baklava cheesecake for the first time. It is really yummy and has good texture. The platter of course is good but I think I've been sleeping on dessert here!
google avatar

Gabrielle D.

Yelp
They have delicious Sandwiches in beef, chicken or falafel. You can get small or large platters with rice, salad, pita and beef, chicken or falafel. Good fries and hummus too. Nice lemonade and tea with pomegranate, lychee and passion fruit flavours. They also have chocolate chip cookies, baklava and baklava cheesecake. "Mo" Mohammed and Yasser who prepared the food were kind and helpful.

Yelp
One day I thought it would be great to visit a place that created Middle Eastern food. I wanted some new but also traditional. I found the Halal Guys. The one here in Ft. Lee is a new version of a place that various locations here and in NYC. Going in side I found some of the specialties that are known for. There are gyros, falafel, chicken, humus and more. You can have a wrap. You can have a plate. It is all freshly made and the price is right. There is a good menu to select from. Once you have made a decision you can also have a salad or other side dishes to choose. It is good no matter what you select. But is it the best? That depends on what you want and how you might like it. It is not spicy. It is not seasoned. It is not hot. To think that this started as a fast food cart in NYC is one thing. That is how I found it. It was perfect for lunch when I wanted something different. The gentleman in the cart knew what I liked and how I liked it. That was perfect. Now that it is in the location here in Ft Lee it is different. I miss the enjoyment I had with the food cart. That was more like I had when I would travel in the Middle East. That was a taste to enjoy. Now, the location is a fast food place to pick up something today here in the US. You will move on tomorrow to something else. The price is right. The location is fine. But when I am back in NYC I will stop and see the cart I like with the gentleman I enjoy to meet. He makes the better meal for me. It is what I expect.

Yelp
Got 2 large platter of lamb, I'm not a huge fan of their chicken. But their lamb is bomb. My platter was packed well

D K.

Yelp
Dont come. Not worth it. Today, i came in around 9:45PM. There were 2 workers--1 was wearing glasses. The worker who was not wearing glasses; I suggest, do not work, if you do not want to work. His attitude is horrible and did not care. Again, do not work if you do not want to work. Do not come. Not worth it, for what you pay. Please, just leave Linwood Plaza. You guys do not care for your customers.
google avatar

Eric Y.

Yelp
Go to the Teterboro location. The Fort Lee location still gives small portion sizes and you will still be hungry afterwards! The Teterboro location gives much more white sauce and protein and you will be much more satisfied there :). All for the same price!
google avatar

Nicholas G.

Yelp
Brand new spot in Fort Lee and any time a Halal guys location comes to town I have to try. This food is addicting to eat and I love it. This is a little more upscale than the street food in nyc but its all good. I went with the lamb and chicken platter and it was beautifully done. The rice was perfectly cooked but had a weird bright orange color. The meat was not overcooked or sitting there for a while. Be careful with the hot sauce since it is very hot. White sauce always on point. If you like the NYC street food you will like this spot.
google avatar

Antonio P.

Yelp
Makary was very great and very helpful! Friendly!

Yelp
I went here yesterday afternoon after a long trip from Maryland...I was pretty hungry. As soon as I walked in...well, before I even walked into the spot, the wonderful guys who work there greeting us and made us feel welcomed. Wonderful service. I ordered a chicken platter with extra hot sauce and jalapeños which added a real kick to it. It was delicious as well as the baklava cheesecake was yummy. Overall, a wonderful experience for and I'll be back.

Yelp
There is a Halal guys in my town. I really love it. I am a fan of gyros and their gyro platters. I go here many times . Really good.

Barbara B.

Yelp
THE BEST hummus hands down! Yasser and his team are amazing ! Friendly, knowledgeable and professional ! The food is all fresh and delicious !! Don't forget your baklava ! Or some extra pita ! (The falafel platter is amazing). I've been coming here since they opened and it's always consistent! Keep up the good work ! I highly recommend this place !

Yelp
Good Morning Fort lee. The Halal guys have finally arrived. Not bad but not as good as it Could've been. The beef was overcooked and dry, and the chicken was tasteless. Nice rice and some chopped tomatoes and lettuce. The chopped onions was so minuscule they hardly added any taste to the salad. I was a little taken back why charge me for jalapeños, I thought their idea was spicy? The pita bread was fresh and delicious. The place was clean and the staff was eager to please. I look forward to going back again however "Guys" let's get it together.
google avatar

Erica N.

Yelp
Okay this place just makes sense at Linwood plaza thank goodness they opened up and not another random mattress store, the food is so FRESH great quality so happy they opened here and the kids working here are great, very friendly and energetic, also their mango ice tea is BOMB
google avatar

Seo H.

Yelp
They were pretty busy, but the man was very nice about it. I don't think that it was his fault, but they kept telling us sorry for making us wait. My husband and I didn't care much for waiting. The food was pretty amazing just li ke Halal guys are
google avatar

Brian K.

Yelp
Ordered 2 regular platters on Monday 2/28/2022. Portions were about the 30% less than the tererboro location. I also asked for sauce on the side and they only gave me 2 white sauce and 1 hot sauce for 2 regular platters. Teterboro always gives 2 white sauce and 1 hot sauce per 1 regular platter. Crew needs more training.

Hyejin L.

Yelp
Today we odered 1 chicken platter with hummus & olives 1 chicken beef platter with no tomatoes & extra meat. Last time we ordered the same thing and they forgot all the sauce. We had none. And this time they forgot to put pita breads. And meat portion is not extra... So I give 1 star.
google avatar

Dabby S.

Yelp
I was happy to see halal guys open in fort lee. I ordered food here a few times and each time I do it gets more disappointing. Portions are small, meats are not fresh tasting. They skimp with the sauces. This location is Not your typical halal guys I come to expect. Where you are barely able to close the lid on your container, overflowing sauces, freshly cooked hot meat. I hope they improve before it's too late.
google avatar

Rivera T.

Yelp
10/10 great prices I loved this place for a while ever since the cart in nyc. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Paul K.

Yelp
Was happy to see a Halal Guys close to my new job location so I went for lunch. Been to over 4 different locations and this one was no different. Staff was friendly and efficient and the food was consistent and good. Left me very satisfied for lunch.
google avatar

Kenny S.

Yelp
Been here 3 times so far, don't know what it is but everytime I eat the food here I feel absolutely terrible after. Each time I've been stuck in the bathroom for hours after and literally left feeling so sick and nauseous .. don't know if it's the chicken or the sauce but I kept coming back because I thought maybe it was a bad batch. Unfortunately I don't think the halal food here is very good, something about it just doesn't sit well in my stomach. Never encountered this issue when eating the halal in nyc

Brandon G.

Yelp
I was very excited when i saw halal guys open in fort lee, especially when the wife is hungry. We decided to order on uber eats and i got to say the rice at this location is better then any other. Each bite i took i wanted more, well balance and full of flavor. The wife is happy, I'm happy and those moments don't come often. I ordered a combo platter extra protein and Emily ordered a chicken platter, we both shared the 4pc falafel. The portions were solid and the falafel were nicely fried and crispy. I wish i could snap a picture of my wife's platter but she would bite me if i got to close while she's eating . Overall 5/5
google avatar

Anurag H.

Yelp
I ordered a chicken and beef gyro platter. The food arrived smelling foul. The chicken was stale as was the beef. It looked dry as if it had been out all day in the sun. The lettuce and tomatoes were also dry and stale. The whole experience was terrible. This is not the original Halal Guys experience that I've personally had many times on 53rd and Sixth in NYC. It appears the standards have dramatically declined since the franchise expanded to other towns.

Ross M.

Yelp
Great first platter for a new Halal Guys, although Teterboro is better. Everything needs sliced smaller and I wasn't exactly excited to get the smallest pieces of pita I've ever had. Overall, great location and excited for it to improve!
google avatar

Chirag R.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Thanks Joe, Gia and the night crew. Will definitely come back.......
google avatar

Nimra G.

Yelp
Good efficient quick glad they're open late as there isn't much edible food past 9 pm in the area. Hummus is recommended to try
google avatar

Wade W.

Yelp
I was ordered via Ubereats. Food was cold when I received it and the worst part was they didn't even close the lid so my food spilled. It wouldn't be a big deal if it were some other issue. But not closing the lid? That's just lazy and incompetent. Won't order from here again, I will only buy from the 53rd street location.

David L.

Yelp
Ewwww. Minuscule $10 gyro takes 20 seconds to eat, and what's up with that white sauce? Had hundreds of gyros in Europe in my life and the traditional white sauce is always a must. THEIR sauce? I really don't know what it is: it doesn't taste like it should and what's up with the mayo texture???? Also where's the lamb? Beef or chicken only? Get out of here.

Name L.

Yelp
The place is new and clean, but that is the only positive thing I can say about it. The food is not good, it is edible, but not good. It is a bland mediocre attempt for a middle eastern food. The taste is simply not there. The meat needs spices, the sides are very basic and overall I didn't get any middle eastern flavors. This is my first and last time there.
