"Halal Guys made its New Orleans debut almost three years ago, opening its first New Orleans store in the CBD in 2016. The Freret Street location opened in 2017, but was largely panned by customers for lackluster quality and service." - Clair Lorell

I had a very good experience, A African American young lady was so kind to me, she offered me a free rewards card and was so nice to me. I will definitely be back as long as she is there. The food was great she made sure when she dropped falafels she made sure they was fresh and asked if I was vegetarian and warmed me some new bread up. She also changed her gloves because she had touched meat, this young lady gave me a great experience. I'll most def be back

I am apprehensive about even giving this place 1 star. It was so terrible I felt compelled to review it. The gyro meat was not edible and everthing except the fries were cold. Be aware of the white sauce. 36 grams of fat, 400 mg of sodium and a ton of cholesterol. So many better places to get a gyro.

The red sauce was so hot the food was nearly inedible I managed to finish it after two tries About 6 hours later I woke up in bed with a horrible stomach ache I ran to the bathroom and my ass erupted in a volcanic mud butt like I've never seen before. The gyro meat was very tasty tho

LIghts are too bright. Music is too loud. Tables and floors are dirty. Service is S L O W. Food quality not good--chicken & gyro served lukewarm, pita cold. Was really hoping it would have been better...so disappointed!

This place opened in the last couple of months. Our first visit. Babycakes and I both enjoyed our lunch. Our counterperson/cashier/server was a nice young lady with a friendly smile. Polite and unrushed. THE FOOD: Babycakes ordered the chicken platter with salad, rice and white sauce. I had a bite, and it was tasty. The chicken pieces were moist and flavorful. The salad, sauce and rice were also delicious. I had the beef gyro. It was also super tasty, although I really crave the lamb gyro. The lettuce, tomato, onion and white sauce (and jalapenos) in a generous pita. Very good. Had hummus (ok), baba ganoush (didn't care for), falafel (excellent), and..... Baklava.. a super delicious.. We'll be back!!

Shockingly bad. Got a gyro with a side of hummus. Gyro meat is pre- cooked and piled up in a large mound on the griddle. The pieces are overcooked, hard and cold. The hummus is refrigerated and packaged well in advance, served cold. In addition, it is obscenely overpriced. This place won't last long.

We spent $20 for two platters which had nothing but lettuce and tomatoes sprinkled with cold meat and dry chicken. I don't think the staff understands the meaning of "halal". The street food trucks are far better compared to this place. You all are far too over priced for the services in which I received.

Well, first time eating at Halal guys and I got food poisoning, hence being awake at 313am writing this message. So that's the ugly. Now the bad, food is mediocre at best. Pita was cold, meat was so so, and the staff was not very helpful at all. Won't be coming back.
