The Halal Guys

Was looking so forward to this finally opening up since I had never tried Halal Guys before and never wanted to wait on one of those huge lines in Manhattan, but this was a HUGE disappointment. I'm a huge fan of halal chicken over rice. I've tried it from so many carts and places across the city, and have had many amazing ones but this was by far the worst. It desperately needed the white sauce to give the rice and chicken some flavor. Unfortunately I didn't take enough of it so by the time I got home, it was too late and had to eat the tasteless rice and chicken. The beef, on the other hand, did have flavor EXCEPT that flavor was salt. A LOT OF it. It felt like I was eating pieces of meat that were brined in salt water for a week. The only reason I was able to eat it is because thankfully the tasteless rice and salad helped get it down my throat. The only reason I don't give them 1 star is because I did end up finishing it. At least now I know that the white sauce is pretty much the only thing keeping the entire platter edible. So disappointed. I won't be surprised if they close down soon or at least get new management.

The chicken over rice was amazing and delicious! The quantity was perfect and the fountain had free refills ! The sauce was perfect and the service was really fast and perfect

The regular platter is $13.49. They charged me $15.14 + tax. This can’t be almost $17 dollars food. U also can see the food portion is less. U say halal food then ripe people off. How is it so halal? Will not back again. Sorry.

When I seen halal guys from distance my mouth was watering. I was expecting nothing but top notch quality food. Unfortunately I was served the complete opposite. The food was extremely cold and by the looks of it, OLD. It tasted like Clorox mixed with meat no cap. The lamb was hard like candy from a dollar store and the chicken was dry like my dms. Absolutely disgusting and sad. So not halal mode Frl ong.

The food was was small, you could get better and more food in the carts outside the mall or even in the surrounding areas. It fits just in my hand, are you serious? The prices are higher than the same ones in the city and is not worth it. You want chicken and rice? Just go to even chik fil a Edit: look at all these generic responses and still nothing is being done about it. Don't spend your money here and tell others to do the same

I don't usually put reviews, but the guy at counter asked me to. It felt a bit strange so I checked other reviews. Unlike others my food was served hot, I was also given some extra chicken upon request. I think the person behind the counter was owner or something, he talked with me in Hindi. I see that he is making good effort to improve the rating for the restaurant by providing better service.

Excellent service, excellent portions, and most importantly excellent food. The halal guys always go above and beyond. I’m always extremely satisfied with my meal. Great experience as always 10/10.

I’ve tasted a lot of halal guys over Manhattan and this is the worst store so far. Since it’s a newly open store inside Queens center mall, this should stand out to showcase the well known recipe of halal guys. It was a disappointing experience because I saw how they prepare every order, from food handling and turn over to customers. I’ve seen a very poor customer service and nasty preparations, vegetables are not fresh even the meat ( dry meat and tasteless). I won’t try this store again. I’d rather get it from 14th st or 6th ave, better.
