The 21 Best Happy Hours In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"The Deal: $5 espresso martini, Aperol spritz, frozen Irish coffee, frozen boba Bellini; $8 well drinks; $8 wine; $6 beer Happy hour at The Half Pint, a pub and sports bar across from NYU, comes with a few stipulations. No more than one espresso martini at a time, for example. And that’s probably for the best. At just $5, those martinis—and a few other house cocktails—are easy to burn through." - bryan kim, neha talreja

Where To Go When Some People In Your Group Care More About Sports Than Others

"Some of your friends want brunch, others want to watch the Steelers game while emptying beer towers, and nobody wants a crowded space filled with people in Roethlisberger jerseys trying to start “New York sucks” chants every 15 minutes. The Half Pint should make everyone happy. This casual spot a block south of Washington Square Park has a lot of TVs and about 15 draft beers you can get in tower format, but there are more people sitting at tables eating BEC burgers than standing by the bars. In case your brunch-focused friends want some drinks as well, they can do bottomless cocktails for $19." - matt tervooren

10 NYC Spots Where You Can Have A Birthday With An Open Bar - New York - The Infatuation

"The Deal: $35 For Two Hours Of Beer/Wine, $10 For An Additional Hour; $45 For Two Hours Well Liquor/Beer/Wine, $10 For An Additional Hour; $55 For Two Hours Of Premium Liquor/Beer/Wine, $10 For An Additional Hour (Minimum Of 20 People) The Half Pint is only a few feet from NYU, but you won’t feel scared and out of place here if it’s been several years since your last midterm. This is just a nice little pub, and it’s a good option for an open-bar birthday that isn’t too divey or hectic in Greenwich Village. When you want some food, get a big order of fish tacos or loaded nachos." - Hannah Albertine, Bryan Kim

The Half Pint - Review - West Village - New York - The Infatuation

"The Half Pint is a multi-room bar that plays sports on TVs throughout, and there are usually a few people wearing jerseys stained with buffalo sauce during NFL games. But the main reason to come here is for the brunch or bar food, and the 15 types of beer on tap. Bring a group when some people want to eat, others want to watch sports, and everyone wants to drink bottomless mimosas or towers of beer. They also offer food and drink specials during Happy Hour until 7pm." - Matt Tervooren

Google
Four of us wanted to eat there last night - Saturday 9:30 pm. Inside, the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. Outside, there was plenty of room but the server said that all the outdoor tables would close at 9:45pm and we would have to move inside at that time. We ended up at another restaurant down the street where the outdoor dining stayed open later.

Google
I really appreciate how spacious this spot is! They have specials/events throughout the week, including a Wednesday wine bottle special that's a great price. To be honest, I disliked both cocktails I ordered but liked all the others that my friends got so that's probably on me 😅 Service was friendly and not overbearing. Will be coming back!

Google
Great place. Went for a private party. The bartenders were amazing and we loved the DJ. Tons of fun. Definitely worth a visit. It has a very warm vibe. The catered food was great and varied-- vegetarian and non. Having a private party has to be a breeze there with the professional staff. We arrived, they had the guest list and in seconds we were in our Nye party and out of the rain. There is one bathroom but the line moved quickly. You can fit easily 70 people in there. Wonderful service.

Google
We stopped here for a drink before dinner. We got an espresso martini which had an amazing foam. We live for a great foam. The staff were kind and helpful when there. The only thing is that it was really loud from the music. I would still return though.

Google
I have to give Half-Pint 5 stars. If I could give 20 stars I would do that to. The drinks are always amazing. The waitstaff was fantastic! When I go to Half-Pint I always get The Professor. It’s a meal with gravy over fries and cheese. It’s delicious. If you’re ever on West 3rd street you must stop by Half-Pint and get a few drinks!

Fab brunch spot, delicious food, lovely friendly staff...Mell! And amazingly no line for a table! Will be back soon!

Google
I went to Half Pint during happy hour, every week or two, for almost a year (2024-2025). It appears that ownership has changed sometime around April 2025 so reviews from before then are probably not accurate anymore. The crowd around 4-6 pm is mostly groups of students coming in for the happy hour cocktails (espresso martinis or Aperol spritzes). It used to fit into the “slightly upscale university bar” vibe a little more prior to the change (ie. a place student go for drink specials but also professors for a cocktail). Now it seems to be rebranding as a sports bar with team flags hanging outside and games on the televisions/speakers. But it’s not entirely a sports bar with the expected drinks/bar food to match. The menu and drink changes don’t make sense. The new servers are inexperienced and awkward (some experienced ones are still there). The mixed drinks are inconsistent (sometimes undrinkable) and the beer list on the website didn’t match what they actually serve (as of late May 2025). The landing page has a quote saying “serious beer bar” but they might have 2-3 beers that are outside the normal NY beers you get everywhere (Goose Island, Brooklyn, etc.) The server had to keep checking if certain beers were in stock. The food options are not great and don’t fit the new (or old) vibe. Cashew Brussel sprouts, barbacoa tacos, and Bavarian pretzel bites ($14 for a couple pretzel bites and a small dipping sauce)??? What is the theme here? One dish from each country a student might come from? At the outside seating, the silverware kept falling through the slatted table, likely because the plates were tiny and the silverware was handle-heavy. Unless you’re coming specifically for the two happy hour cocktails they serve, there are other places in the area that excel at having a vibe/menu/drinks that will fit together into a more pleasant experience.

Google
Elevated bar food- got the loaded nachos! Ton of toppings. And the baked potato tots- fried to the right amount of crispy. Got a sour that was good. Friend thought the Negroni was strong. Overall would go back!

Yelp
Great happy hour. And it's till 8pm! Got choices for drinks and bites. Pretty good service too

Yelp
If you like beer, and a reliable, no frills pub to pull up with a group and be loud at, the Half Pint is in a prime location that will fit the bill. You can expect a generally young crowd yelling over the music, which always feels a touch too loud for my old ears. This place is definitely not my vibe, but they make a very solid espresso martini and nachos. I'd prefer a place I can have a conversation at, so let's just say I've aged out of this demo.

Yelp
Really nice place to gather with colleagues to eat and drink. The Caesar salad was nicely dressed, with a decent amount of croutons and parmesan cheese. The lettuce was fresh and plentiful. The fish tacos were decent as well. The pico de gallo was refreshing and balanced, the breaded fish was seasoned well and the tortillas were soft (though they could have been heated up better). The portion was just a tad small. Overall a good experience!

Yelp
Love Love love Theres nothing not to love about this bar. The drink is quality, on point and decent price. Oldie music w good DJ, cute small table by the window looking out to the street. The ambiance is amazing.

Yelp
Cute bar that had decent drinks! I love that they have the back section bar with a different vibe and was much quieter. Good for catching up with a friend. Service was friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Great spot to stop in for drinks! Would love to come back and try the food. My girlfriends and I stumbled upon The Half Pint after dinner near Union Square Park and couldn't have had a better time! It was super cute and not too crowded inside and we got to try a few of their cocktails. We stayed for hours to chit chat!
google avatar

Yelp
Went here for a Bravo show premiere night event. It was only on the Ernie's side but there is only a curtain dividing the bars so you could hear the music from Half Pint and it was tricky to hear the TV. The circus theme is kind of odd at Ernie's. We had yummy pretzels and cheese, chicken tenders and sliders. Service was great our waitress was attentive and super friendly.
google avatar

Derrick B.

Yelp
For basic pub food, the food here is exceptional. We ordered the wings, big boy burger, and avocado toast off their brunch menu. The service however is non-existent and some of the worst, if not the worst, I've seen. The place seems disorganized as we had 3 different waitresses take our food/drink orders with neither of them coming back to the table after we placed our orders. I expected them to check on us after the food was delivered and to ask if we needed anything else, but nobody ever came back. I really wanted a beer and couldn't find a waitress to save my life. The food is good but I would probably take it to go next time and not dine in.

Yelp
Was freezing and needed to kill time before dinner. Stumbled into this place and wow, it is easily up there for one of my new favorite bars. The half pint amber was so light and delicious, the music was really great and the vibes were good. Went back a second time later in the night after dinner and the vibes were a little weirder, but still fun. Dj and dancing :) will 100% be back!

Yelp
I walked in The Half Pint and the staff were so warm and welcoming. They offer a phenomenal selection of beers and spirits. There food is also phenomenal as well with great prices. I highly recommend The Half Pint. Thank you very much.

Yelp
A pretty chill kick back bar type vibe. I tried their Aperol and it was pretty good! Kind of like an older college bar type vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
Was perfect day to sit outside and enjoy a spritz on the corner and people watch. The team was friendly and we could quickly order via our phones, their spritz hit the spot!

Yelp
Great atmosphere (cozy and WARM). Good beer selection. Roasted chicken is DIVINE. Kid friendly. Inexpensive. What more can you ask for?
google avatar

Yelp
A prime location that has coverage from the rain with indoor and outdoor seating. Ordering from QR code is super easy
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
Terrible customer service, bartender never came over for anything additional service after the first drink. Chatted with friends at the bar, was never offered if we wanted food. Won't be back
google avatar

Holden C.

Yelp
I visited here for some entertainment and quick drinks, but I ended up staying the entire night. The pianist was average but the whole bar seemed to be driven by him. I ordered my usual: a scotch and soda, and sat down at the bar. The staff were kind and helpful and I managed to meet some old friends. The service was great and I was able to enjoy myself, but the bar was overcrowded and it became way too loud by the end of the night.
google avatar

Christina O.

Yelp
So pleasantly surprised by everything here! They have a gin bar in which you can choose your mixer, bitters, and gin - haven't seen this and was so amazed! The carne asada tacos were amazing, with the perfect amount of sauce and avocados!
google avatar

Yelp
The half pint has been my favorite bar in the Greenwich Village area for a while now. They have their own beers, amber, wheat and light, the last of which is amazing, what every Coors Light or Miller Lite should aspire toward. Haven't tried a lot of the food, but the food I have tried has been really good, and the portions have been generous. Very friendly service always

Yelp
Had brunch here recently. Food was mid. Had the breakfast sliders and honestly, I've had better Jimmy Dean microwaveable sandwiches. I also had a side of bacon which was overcooked. My friend had the steak and eggs and said that was just okay as well. The best thing on the table was the mimosa tower. Margaritas were pretty good too. Service was cool. Music was decent, but could've been a little louder.
google avatar

Linda Z.

Yelp
Great spot for a casual bite and drinks. Pretty large seating area with friendly staff. The food was filling and the drinks were pretty solid as well. A little spicy sauce to their burger and it would've topped it off perfectly.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night at 1:30 PM with 3 friends. This place is right next to Washington Square Park and is in NYU territory. It was pretty empty when we went which was good because we were able to get pretty last minute reservations. We got the boozy brunch so it was 90 minutes of mimosas with an entree. They gave you a large pitcher (like one of those tap things) so it was able to fill about 9-10 glasses. They weren't that prompt with serving, so make sure to ask for another pitcher as soon as you're close to being done because it will take them some time. They were pretty relaxed about the 90 minute time limit though which was nice. Now the food itself was not that great. I know most people don't go to boozy brunch with the expectation of good food, but it's really not flavored well. I got the shakshuka and thought it was pretty bland. Nothing crazy about the nachos either. Our total bill ended up being ~$53 per person so for that price you can find places with better food and service.
google avatar

Michael A.

Yelp
The service was amazing! Ambiance and atmosphere is great! Good selection of music. However the food was not good. Very bland no taste.

Yelp
This is a marvelous local bar. They are well stocked, staffed, and ready to make your evening memorable and delightful. You must try their craft cocktails and have what will prove to be a great adventure.....
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
This bar is always packed to The brim, they have a huge outdoor area, with covered seating and sidewalk seating. A couple of the servers are great but I have to take a star off because a few of the staff ignore you, and have a bit of a Tude when you Try to flag them down. Love the nachos, tenders and pint sized margarita. It's a dive bar type place but so much fun and a good time!
google avatar

Maija B.

Yelp
my favorite gin and tonics in the city!! they are stunning and you can select your type of gin, tonic and bitters! i love their outdoor seating but indoors at night it gets pretty loud.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice spot in Greenwich Village! My friends and I were super hungry after our trip to the Color Factory nearby so we decided to stop here and were so glad we did. The food was cooked to perfect, everything seasoned well! Cocktails were delicious, and the waitstaff super friendly and knowledgeable offering suggestions along the way. Cant wait to visit again!

Yelp
Tuesday evening, looking for a place to eat/drink outdoors. Although this bar had lots of people crammed inside, the outside seating was generous and sparsely used. Got one of the tiny table seatings for two and was quickly given menus by the waitress. Started off by ordering the Good Nature Farm Annie ($9) to drink - a hoppy bitter with a smooth finish. For food, shared the Avocado Salad ($14) and Impossible Burger ($16). Salad is your regular fare, a sliced up avocado sitting on top of a bed of greens with moderate vinaigrette dressing. The impossible burger is a nice variation from the normal veggie burger option. The "meat" is juicy and has somewhat the qualities of an actual hamburger, though the consistency/taste isn't quite there. Service is excellent considering the crowd. Was bumped a few times by people entering/leaving the establishment, so if getting seated try somewhere away from the door.

Yelp
Came here on Halloween night with a group of friends. Understood that it was going to be busy, and service may be subpar due to that - that wasn't an issue we just wanted somewhere to hang out after watching the parade. However, our experience was kind of ridiculous. Were seated immediately which was nice. That was the only good part of the night. We ordered a round of drinks and food - drinks came out at a decent time (but we had to substitute as they were out of most of the winter cocktails which wasn't a big deal, but would've been nice to know ahead of time) and we waited an hour+ for 4 cold appetizers and 2 inedible entrees. Half of us ordered a second round and that came out before our food. Three tables that were seated after us got their food before us. When we asked the server why we hadn't gotten any food she responded that the entire order was coming out together. Who brings out apps after entrees, especially when folks are drinking? Asked if we could get the food that was already done being made (as fries shouldn't take an hour+) and she said that would confuse the kitchen more - obviously not as our stuff was sitting for a while since it came out cold. Two of my friends ordered the chicken sandwich and one of them had undercooked sections while the other one was made with CHICKEN TENDERS - one completely burnt, the other raw. If they were out of chicken breasts, they could've said instead of making a half-ass substitution. Both of the sandwiches came out cold, the croquettes and cauliflower wings were cold (and substitutions were not followed as my friend asked if it was possible for buffalo sauce to be on the wings instead of sesame and the server said yes), the fries were the only thing warm-ish. After letting our server know we were disappointed, we were able to get a round of drinks and one of the sandwiches off the bill which was nice, but not without getting a bit of attitude from the server. We understood that it wasn't her fault and told her so when we complained initially, but if you know the kitchen is slammed when a table sits down - at least give them a heads up. Overall: drinks were fine, food was ass, service was ok

Matt M.

Yelp
This place has such potential to be a great hangout sports bar in the Village, but just seemed to be missing something. It looks like it would be an old school joint, but it seemed run like all those corporate bars worried more about vibe and turnover than regulars and experience. The service is also not super great. Both times we've gone, it was hard to get a server's attention to start. Once we got someone they were nice and fine, but then they would sorta disappear after a while. Food wise, the chicken tenders were very good. The croquettes weren't so good. It was fine.

Yelp
I enjoy halfpint for various reasons...1) pretty good selection of beer 2) I'm a big fan of the dim light setting 3) laid back atmosphere and a pleasant crowd 4) did I mention how good their selection of beer is? If you're a beer snob such as myself then this is definitely a bar you want to try. Not your typical bar food as I've honestly enjoyed each dish I've had here. Happy hour here is so chill and laid back which is a good change for your average rowdy HH crowd. The bartenders are always friendly and talkative. Happy hour comes with $5 beers with a decent selection of beers from their list, $6 well drinks and $7 house wine. Good spot if want to hang out and catch a game (without sound). The only negative about this place is sometimes it can get loud in there once it gets crowded which makes it hard to hear if holding a conversation. I really enjoy this place for happy hour, a date, birthday events, Thursday night trivia and even for a week or weekend night out, so I recommend coming by to enjoy both the atmosphere and some good beers.

Yelp
If you're looking to kick back with an E-mart on Johnson & 3rd, look no further. Sunday funday!

Yelp
Some coworkers, my boyfriend, and I came here after the Pride Parade 2018. It was really busy and packed so we had to wait roughly ten minutes for our party of 6 to be seated. That was to be expected so we weren't too upset about it even though we were exhausted. Once seated, we all ordered an array of different things. I sampled the calamari which was light and tasty. I ordered the poutine (house cut fries, Wisconsin white cheddar curds, and short rib gravy) with a Wölffer No. 139 Dry Rose Cider. Both were delicious after a long morning and afternoon in the hot June sun. I've enjoyed lighter poutine in Canada as well as crab poutine from Angry Archie's but, this was also tasty. The chunks of short rib were tender enough however, the gravy was a bit overpowering and I would have enjoyed a bit more cheese. Overall, I would come back if I happened to be in the area again.
google avatar

Callie S.

Yelp
This review is for dinner/ drinks. Be warned this place can get really loud on Saturday night while people are watching sports. Overall, if you want some junk food and beer, it's definitely a great place. The Mac and cheese with pulled pork was amazing and the fried chicken sandwich was very good. They had a special apple cider margarita which was yummy. You don't get much attention from the waitress but you'll get ask 10 times to clear the plates out when you're still eating lol I would still go back for beer or just to hang out but prob not for a real sit down dinner (unless I really crave Mac and cheese I guess).
google avatar

Charisse S.

Yelp
I suppose this is a cool place to grab a beer with a friend. I'm not sure where the reputation for it being a good brunch spot came from. It's certainly not from the food, which was unremarkable in every way. The seating was uncomfortable and awkward. We were a group of five seated at a high-top table with high stools to have brunch. There was no place to really put our bags so some of us had to eat with our bags in our laps. I eventually dragged a stool from an empty table to pile our stuff on. I guess the appeal here is the bottomless drinks option and the location near NYU. I'll end this on a slightly positive note. I did enjoy the beer sampler I split with a friend. Otherwise, it's unlikely that I will be returning or agree to come on someone's invitation.
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
We came in to grab food about 9 PM on a Saturday when we realized we were starving after running around NYC sight seeing and drinking for a few hours. It was pretty loud but the music was great. College bar vibe. I had the raclette burger, which was pricey but the burger was so juicy and good. The melted raclette cheese was excessive in portion which made me happy. The bun was that soft buttery toasted on the inside that hold meat perfectly. They also have a decent craft beer list and they made a great mint julep.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
This is my kind of place! Irish style pub with cheap reasonably priced beers and fancier cocktails for those who want to indulge. There really is something for all tastes here. Pretty typical bar food on the menu, however we only stopped in for drinks. Great location with some but limited outdoor seating. Service was great, too!
google avatar

Rach S.

Yelp
I came here with a large group and we had several tables outside. The serving staff was fairly slow. I asked several times for a glass of water and it was never brought. The server even said when i asked again oh yea I should bring that.... it is a college bar with average prices.
google avatar

Kevin D.

Yelp
Friendly bartenders who made awesome drinks. Comfortable environment. Check it out if you're in the area. I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Ha D.

Yelp
The ambience was nice and dark for a moody vibe. The drink menu was extensive and fairly priced for New York.
google avatar

Marie H.

Yelp
Been here a bunch of times over the years. Solid bar and nice menu. Can't beat the location. Definitely give it a go.
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
Walked by the place as a couple was leaving their outdoor table and we could not pass up the opportunity to stop for a beer and quick snack. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Beer was good, as were the Cheese Curds. I would have preferred having the option to get a spicier dip for the curds, but the guacamole dip was fine. The big negative was the cost, very expensive for what we ordered.
google avatar

Phan H.

Yelp
This is a great place for after class drinks near NYU. I came here quite a few times, but this review will just encompass all of them. The service here is really great. Our waitress, who is always the same person, has fast and friendly service. Even during Covid, there's lots of space to sit and spread out. I usually just drink here, they have a wide variety of beers on tap. But I also order the Pretzel with cheese sauce. YUM! Yes, there are plenty of other great bars around the area (Amnity Hall), but this would be a good alternative if the other places are packed. They also have a bowl of water and doggy treats for anyone who have puppers, which tells me that they are caring and considerate. Or it's just a way to bring all of the doggo bois to the yard to pet.

Yelp
This place saved my marriage. The chairs could be bigger but I loved the steak tacos and almost cried

Morgan S.

Yelp
My Mom and I came to The Half Pint on Thanksgiving and had the most amazing time. We were starving after the parade and ordered the burger with truffle fries, and the blt with truffle fries. They were both delicious, highly recommend the truffle fries!! The food came out quickly and really hit the spot. My mom liked her bloody mary a lot and then we had the best cider ever upon our waiter's recommendation. One of the waiters, Daniel even asked his manager for us where we could find the ciders in stores. He was so friendly, accommodating and some (my mom) may even say he was darling. What a great place with amazing customer service. I will definitely be back!!

Yelp
Meaty jumbo sweet and spicy wings. Sauce was good but could have had a bit more heat to it and was a bit over fried.
google avatar

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Service: very good Ambiance: casual, with outside seating which is really nice Food: mostly bar bites, though they do have varied food options They also seem to do a lot specials and have a large selection of beers Prices: pretty good for the area and quality
google avatar

Scott B.

Yelp
Nice spot with outdoor seating and a big window for the summers. I hit this place for brunch and am always satisfied. The mimosas keep flowing for the wife and a great beer selection for me. Sometimes even bucket specials. The food is solid American fare. The biscuit and gravy bomb, a sausage and gravy wrapped in a biscuit deal is always a pleaser. The breakfast nachos (waffle fries instead of chips) is also a solid choice. The wings here I have gotten multiple times and always come out crispy. I like to do them plain with a side of both the sauces for variety. Service is usually friendly and attentive.

Ayushe M.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour with four other people on a weeknight. Outdoor seating is expansive, so that's a nice option. Ordered two glasses of rose, both of which were good. One suggestion to foster a better experience would be to have friendlier and more patient waitstaff, we felt pretty rushed throughout the evening even though there seemed to be many other tables open in case more parties arrived.
