On holiday from the UK I couldn’t fault the place. Amazing food, I’d recommend the streak, the lobster roll or the crab cakes. They were all truly amazing. We visited in July and the Sunset was a good as the one I saw in Zanzibar. The staff were super friendly and the young guy who served us was fantastic from start to finish. This place is 5 star if I could have given it 6 I would have 👍🏻

A Memorable Evening with Stunning Views at The Halyard We recently had dinner at The Halyard and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This is certainly a fine dining destination, offering a well-curated menu with thoughtfully crafted dishes. We found the quality to be excellent – both the fish and pasta dishes we ordered were delicious and expertly prepared. The wine pairings were spot-on, complementing the meal perfectly, and the overall wine selection was quite good. One of the absolute highlights is the restaurant's location. If you can time your reservation to coincide with sunset, you are in for a treat. The views are truly picturesque and contribute to an unforgettable dining atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our visit. While they seemed perhaps a little inexperienced in moments, their pleasant demeanor was appreciated. The restaurant had a lively buzz, with background music and the chatter of happy diners; it was a bit noisy but certainly manageable and didn't detract significantly from our meal. Given its quality and popularity – it's deservedly considered one of the better options in the area – we strongly recommend making a reservation in advance, especially if you're hoping for a prime table during sunset. Overall, The Halyard delivers a high-quality dining experience with excellent food and unbeatable scenery. Highly recommended for a special meal out.

We are truly grateful for the Halyard for providing such an exceptional venue for our wedding. The space was elegant and beautifully set, creating the perfect atmosphere for our celebration. The food was absolutely outstanding and exceeded all expectations — our guests continue to share how much they enjoyed it. Working with Kelly was an absolute pleasure; she was professional, organized, and made the entire planning process seamless. For the quality of the service, food, and venue, it was an incredible value. We highly recommend the Halyard to anyone seeking a memorable and stress-free event experience.

Place has a phenomenal atmosphere and great view and vibe. However, there's room for improvement in food taste

Google
Had a wonderful evening at Halyard. Service was fantastic, the setting phenomenal, wine list great. My husband's chicken Caesar is one of the best I've tasted. My scallops were tasty but the too salty sauce they were served in detracted. Will definitely return!

A Truly Exceptional Dining Experience at The Halyard Restaurant From the moment my wife and I walked into The Halyard Restaurant, the staff was warm and accommodating. We were initially seated by the sound-facing window, but when we requested a more private setting, the hostess graciously led us to a stunning table in the grand room—partial booth seating, nestled beside a beautiful bookshelf, offering both intimacy and a great view. The mezcal almond cocktail was an experience in itself—layered, complex, and expertly crafted. My wife enjoyed two glasses of red wine, which paired beautifully with our selections. We started with oysters, a beet salad, and scallops as the main course. Each dish was creative, thoughtfully prepared, and absolutely delicious. The oysters, in particular, stood out, served with a unique onion-vinegar sauce that was a revelation. The ambiance was perfect for meaningful conversation, and we spent a good portion of the evening debating future baby names—Enzo, Theodore, Mickala, Lana, and Dayman are all in the running, god help us. And then, dessert. If you take one piece of advice from this review: GET THE TOFFEE. It was phenomenal, especially paired with banana ice cream and chocolate gelato. This was more than just a meal—it was an experience. Exceptional food, a refined yet comfortable atmosphere, and a staff that truly understands hospitality. We will absolutely be back.

Google
We had the most incredible meal at the Halyard! As two tired new parents, we were so looking forward to a date night, and the staff took such incredible care of us and left us feeling so refreshed. Every dish was delicious, the service so warm, and the atmosphere with its view of the Long Island Sound is unbeatable. Ask for help pairing local wines with your meal and you won't be disappointed. We can't wait to return.

We drove almost one hour to the restaurant. But it is deserved. All was perfect.

Yelp
First of all- I have been a guest of the halyard many times. This place has a location and natural beauty that you may overlook the service and quality for. My visit tonight was unique. I attended a musical performance in the piano bar. We arrived to an overwhelmed bar scene - and one very friendly, very optimistic, bartender greeted me before disappearing into service tickets ; Ricky. Delightful ... very busy. Alex approached us and took our order to help Ricky out. 5 stars to Alex for taking the initiative to recognize his teammate was overwhelmed .. but it goes beyond that. Alex remained attentive. The . Whole. Time. We are industry we are not demanding. Top notch service .. Eventually getting to interact and receive service from both Garret and Ricky ... overall service team is awesome. Drinks were standard (we didn't order anything off menu) and we had a great time. Will be back !

Yelp
Monday June 30th. dinner, Great views, manager, service and ambiance. Seacar salad with chicken was extraordinary, Burata salad was ok (Not good quality Burata). Baked clams were very salty ! Not good. Burger was good but again too salty. Swordfish dish: (disappointment) The fish fillet was very fresh but the Au poivre sauce was very very very salty and uneatable so i return it and the manager on duty delivery him self the Ceacar salad with chicken which was amazing as i mention above ! Gelato was amazing. Owner and / or GM should check on chef more closely ... chefs today think that they are above and beyond everyone - Not Good... Prices could be lower 10-15% for the food quality that the restaurant provides.

Yelp
Made reservations here around sunset time because I heard the view was insane. Came off season (March) and midweek (Thursday) and it was nice and quiet, only like 6 or so other tables with us. View would have been much better without the unfortunate fog we had that evening but I enjoyed watching all the ducks fish for food in the part of the water I could see. Sadly they didn't have a mocktail menu and only had one non-alcoholic beer so I had that and it was fine. Their focaccia bread was killer and my husband enjoyed his oysters. I also ordered the squash soup which didn't blow me away too much. The scallops were delicious, just wished they were over risotto. And the brussels sprouts were fantastic as well. Worth a visit.

Yelp
Go for the view, enjoy the ambience of the space and go at sunset. The cocktails are good, the seafood is delicious, the lounge area has better acoustics than the dining room if you want to have a conversation. The piano bar room is cozy. Expect to pay some $$$$. Thank you.

Yelp
Celebrated 25th wedding anniversary w wife and 2 adults sons. Very good experience. Beautiful restaurant with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Appetizers baked clams and crab cakes were excellent. Fluke ceviche was OK. Entrees--scallops were some of the best I've ever had and swordfish was very good as well. Service friendly and attentive. Highly recommend. Also, show up early for your reservation and enjoy the very pleasant piano bar before dinner.

Yelp
Right on Long Island Sound, The Halyard is a great spot for summer lunch. The food and service are wonderful. The negative reviews are simply wrong and do not reflect our experience.

Daniel K.

Yelp
Shout out to Alex the MVP, this place is always busy and we expect to wait...top notch service by Alex, recognizing the bar was overwhelmed and stepping in to take orders and get us on our way! Drinks - on point. Expect to wait they are busy! Also thank you to Garret and bartender Ricky- great customer service when overwhlemed! See you again soon

Yelp
We went last night for Diner , I ordered broiled Cod with grits ,asking the waiter if they can give me a Vegis or rice etc.. instead of grits , the answer was " the chef won't do it " ,now that is the first time I see it happening in a NY restaurant everywhere other than this place try to satisfy their customers ! sorry I never go again to this place again with such snotty chef ! very rude ! Of corse it is not waiter's fault it is the chef 's !!

Yelp
Delicious with a spectacular view! Farm to table locally sourced foods. Sharing suggested. Wonderful quality. I highly recommend the pesto cavatelli (nut allergy friendly), tuna Tatar (in the cutest Waffel cones) and lobster bucatini. Crab cakes were just ok. We found them to be too spicy souls have been flavored with citrus instead of the charred spice.
google avatar

Christina V.

Yelp
I have to give this 5 stars for the location and view. The restaurant is gorgeous inside , piano bar and by the water. The low tide bar is also amazing but unfortunately only open during the summer. I have not tried the food. The drinks are a hit though. Solid old fashioned.

Yelp
I reviewed this place in 2020. We used to love it. Man, tonight's experience was simply bad. We went in for there for NYE. Apparently, they only had a pre-fixe menu for 100$ per person. The menu was very odd, and narrow. I hope you like duck. There wasn't any chicken, beef, or anything other than scallops and duck. For five courses. We were one of the first groups seated for the NYE dinner. It took 45 minutes for our first round of drinks to come out. They came out after we had our first course. The courses overall were ok, however were absolutely not worth the exorbitant price they charged for what you got. Additionally, many guests in our party stated that their food came out lukewarm to cold. The soup was served without a spoon. The duck fois grois was supposed to come with gingerbread. It was not in one of the dishes and apparently was not checked before it came out. Lastly, we were told tip was included. As we were finishing the drinks, our waiter came back and said that tip was indeed not included, and he could take the checks back and add the 20% or we could leave it on the line. When I first reviewed this place, I gave it five stars. I see now that it's averaging 3.3 stars on yelp. I am not surprised. I'm not sure what this NYE menu was trying to do, and I don't understand how you don't have anything other than duck available. What if you were allergic? It makes no sense. The Halyard is trying to be something it isn't. Please just go back to the days where I could get a really good steak and French fries.

Yelp
There was an even in the main room so we ended up having dinner in the Library. It was a *completely different* mood and changed the vibe/ambiance. It was faaaaar too dark and inexplicably loud for such a small space. The service left a lot to be desired. One of us got the bisque and the server forgot to bring a spoon - when we asked for one, a different server came and rudely dropped/threw the spoon on the table. Service as a whole was lackluster and the food did not make up for it. We ordered 1 app and 1 entrée each and the bill came to $270. For the price, both the food and the service needs improvement.
google avatar

Azarel B.

Yelp
Good food, extremely slow service. We sat with the menu for at least 30 minutes before a server took our drink orders. We sat another 30 minutes before the drinks came to the table and we were finally able to place food orders. As for the food, the fish was very fresh, flaky and tasty. Clean in flavor but not under seasoned. The salad I ordered was very earthy and tasted great but it was definitely overdressed. Thankfully I ordered some of their amazing focaccia that cut the saltiness of the greens. The menu isn't extensive but I think there's something for everyone. It's one of the better restaurants we've tried in Greenport. Although slow, the service is very friendly. Servers are knowledgeable of the area and happy to give suggestions for what to do in town.

Yelp
Perfect spot on the North Fork to see the sunsetting over Connecticut. Great efficient service match by the great view and over amazing ambience of the motel and restaurant. Crudo was amazing, oysters were great, fresh greens and vegetable salad was top, and the lobster pasta was out of this world. The only miss was the tuna tartare. Great spot!

Barb L.

Yelp
Gave my husband a surprise 84th Birthday party last nite. Great ambiance and private area, great food, great service. Everyone had a fabulous time! Im not in San Francisco! How did that happen?

George S.

Yelp
Beautiful spot, but the worst service. They made us wait 20 minutes to seat us, regardless of our reservation. It was way overpriced and the food was not especially good. Small portions, with no sides for up to $60 for an entree. I'm all for an extravagant treat for a great experience, but this was not that.
google avatar

Ariel O.

Yelp
A lousy experience, in almost every aspect. Called in advance to ask if outdoor seating is available and was told "first come first serve. Shouldn't be a problem!". When we got there, the host quoted an 1:15 hr wait and insisted that it's consistent with her response over the phone. Service at first was attentive and kind, but as the evening progressed it became increasingly difficult to get someone's attention. The mashed potatoes was bland, the buratta was served breadless, and those were the finest items we ordered. The real debacle was the tuna tartare - absolutely inedible. 2 pounds of salt and 3 pounds of sodium must've landed on that poor tuna. A few last nuggets: A creamed corn dish we ordered got lost in the shuffle. Music in the background was muffled, and mostly overcome by excessively loud patrons. 2 hours of my life I'll never get back... oh well

Yelp
The theme here is flexibility. Everything from the staff to the grounds was accommodating and there's always a little something extra around the corner. One of my friend groups decided to make the trip to The Halyard and some vineyards from New York City (The BX & BK). When we arrived for lunch, the hostess was nice enough to check on which tables were available by the water per a request from one of the members of our party. She was able to offer us one of those. I observed her to be efficient and professional as she moved about the restaurant. I mention this because sometimes restaurant staff sacrifice warmness for expedience. This wasn't the case at The Halyard. We ordered several drinks from their cocktail menu (forgoing the wines because we were visiting vineyards afterwards). The "Garden Party" and "Paid Time Off" seemed to be that top two choices for the table. For appetizers we started with a dozen oysters and the Summer Truffle Tartine (The Tartine's taste was just fantastic!). We also tried the seared "Hudson Valley" Fois Gras (there are a lot of textures and tastes in that one which might catch some people off guard). For mains, the table went with the Lobster Fra Diavolo and The Bear Battered Fish & Chips both great options! After lunch we took a look around the restaurant. On the exterior, on the Eastern end of the restaurant there's a little porch, the entrance to which is adorned with flowers. The area could easily be mistaken for restaurants I've seen in other countries like Italy! The sound of the ocean made the scene feel romantic and magical! When you're done with that side of the restaurant, continue walking the outer perimeter until you reach the westernmost corner. If you did everything right, you timed your dinner to coincide with the sun setting in the west. If you and your dinner companion don't want to go home yet, come back around to the front of the restaurant. Walk down the path, past the hotel rooms and look for a stairway down to the beach. To the east you'll find a spot called "Low Tide Beach Bar." Maybe you just want to sneak in a romantic moment. In that case, find a couple beach chairs and get comfortable on the beach. Let the ocean waves be your music. ... (You're welcome). Need to know: The parking lot is across the street. So don't do two U-Turns like I did trying to park at the restaurant itself. Also, I was a little disappointed that the hostess didn't check vaccination status. It might be a good idea to sit outside until they catch up to the NYS guidelines.

Yelp
Come for the sunset 10/10 Drinks. Well crafted and delicious. 8/10 Service: attentive. 7/10 Food: OK. 6/10 Best sunset view around. Sit on the porch and enjoy breathtaking views. Drinks are crafted with all the bells and whistles. Food. Steak was tough and room temperature. Mashed potatoes were too salty. Lobster roll was ok. Not great for the area but good enough. Fries were tasteless Fluke ceviche was really good Crème brûlée was decent. Sorbet was nice and tart. Overall it is worth the sunset but not the food.

Yelp
Spectacular tens star location right up on and over the gorgeous Long Ilan sound. Dockers gorgeous bay views has nothing on this breathtaking sound front for views. Super view. Extra nice people. Kindly fit us in for an early dinner without res. Promised not to be long. With mom and just driving through so it worked. Shared New England clam chowder and both got lobster rolls. The only hesitation on a four star was fresh lobster but the mayo or something to both of us seemed like refrigerated a few days too long. Maybe not. But we both felt the same way. Tasted bad not less sweet than should have been. Brioche toasted rolls seemed a few days past. Crumbled a bit. So tough times. Happy to be there. No send backs. Waitress had only a few tables since early but forgot that we asked for cocktail sauce for the fries. A nice young man from the kitchen came out to check and went back and brought us one to share. Thanks but not much of a sharer. Left on time for their dinner crowd didn't linger as promised. Now for next week no matter how busy mom is going to Dockers for her idea of a 10 star lobster roll.. Summer is still here so off we'll go. For this place think view. Drinks. And don't focus on food or service perfection. I'd come again if here as the view is so enjoyable.

Ed P.

Yelp
Considering it's a seafood restaurant on Long Island it is unbelievable that they have only one type of oyster and they weren't particularly good. Modules Frite was really disappointing- tiny shriveled mussels in a completely tasteless broth. $8 for uninteresting bread. The cabs tell I with pesto was incredibly bland and half of a very small piece of burrata. Overall lousy food. Nice water view but eat somewhere else. And maybe teach your servers how to pronounce "moules"

Kelsey R.

Yelp
The food was mediocre, and with such a limited menu, you would expect more. Despite the restaurant boasting about its view, the outdoor seating is first-come, first-served, and they seat two people at four-person tables for however long. I chose this place for the sunset views of the water, but we ended up inside next to the AC unit, freezing the entire time--on a Thursday night, no less
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Halibut is my favorite fish, and park crusted didn't float my boat. I think it took away from the flavor of the fish. The carrot purée was cold along with the pearl onions and mushrooms. Loved the salad and I thought the cauliflower side was also excellent. Service was good, no complaints but the big room off to the left was dated and old. I bet the waterfront setting is great but it was a foggy night. I would try again. Btw, table next to me had hamburgers and they looked great.
google avatar

Nick F.

Yelp
We enjoyed another fantastic meal at Halyard this weekend. We both enjoyed the Monkfish with Roasted Cauliflower, a simple and delicious choice. And there is no better waterfront view on the North Shore. With the beautiful panoramic view, ample window seating, and seasonal outdoor seating, you can watch the sunrise or sunset from Halyard. Great service, Great food, Great Ambiance, and special thanks to our server Rhonda for her great service.
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
Attached or part of the recently updated SoundView motel/resort on the Sound in Greenport. While the property has gone over a major renovation they thankfully left one of the pieces intact except for the name change. The Halyard is on and overlooking the Sound with the gentle waves lapping a few feet below your sandals. You probably will not hear that soft sound as you will be totally absorbed with the spectacular view. When you go there you must, must must make reservations for the outside deck at sunset. With clear views to Connecticut the sunsets are incredible. That is what you are here for yes the food is good and the staff and service are terrific but the view. The view !
google avatar

Sharon Z.

Yelp
A little underwhelming. The restaurant is nice as it is right by the water but the food itself I felt like was only okay. The burger my boyfriend got was better than the fish and chips. The fish itself had zero flavor- and I was looking forward to it as it's supposed to be one of their better dishes.

Maureen F.

Yelp
It was our 45 Wedding Anniversay and I called to confirm a table by the window to see the water. Upon arrival the hostess said only 4 tops sit by the window. Many tables were open as it was only 645pm. We sat at a 2 table near a column. Food was good, wait staff excellent. Unable to make a proper French Martini. The big insult came as they began to sit couples at the 4 tops. They sure didn't look like they were celebrating a once in a lifetime event. It ruined our Anniversary. We spoke to Bill the manager who basically was apologetic that the hostess lied. I would not go back. Limited menu and very pricey. Paying for the view we never got to enjoy.

Yelp
We stayed at the Soundview a few days ago. We were looking to have cocktails at the Piano Room. But, realized that they are completely closed Monday and Tuesday. We ate dinner on a Sunday night. We were seated at a lovely table. The waiter was fantastic. The cocktails were good and the food good. A big improvement from our last visit. We'll definitely give them another visit. They changed something, and for the better. Keep it up!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, good drinks, and one of the best places to have a sunset dinner on the No Fork. Ask for a table outside.
google avatar

Nancy H.

Yelp
Had the worse lobster roll anywhere. Dry, little meat and it looked like they threw a handful oF dry arugula with no dressing on the side. Meal was more than disappointing. Only positive to this experience was that a rogue window hit the windows and startled all the dinner guests. Could be a special place but also needEd a good deep cleaning

Yelp
A wonderful experience overall! Arrived a bit early to our 6pm reservation from the wineries (10 mins from Ospreys!) and originally we were going to check out the beach bar but we opted to be seated early for prime waterfront seating. It was a scorcher that day so definitely sacrificed comfort for the view, but it was worth it. Service was fast as you can tell they are in a hurry to turnover tables, especially in the prime seating. Food was good but a few things were underwhelming (see pics). The crab claws are not worth it at $30 for half a dozen and about an inch of meat on each. My grilled swordfish was 10/10 and I was stuffed! Everybody loved their food aside from the Peconic bay Fluke. At $42 it was a tiny portion and appeared to be thrown together as compared to everyone else's meals. I was a bit thrown by all of the negative reviews as overall we had a great experience here and we're happy to celebrate a birthday dinner here. One thing about the bday, I mentioned in the notes but we had to mention it again to have it acknowledged as a surprise for our guest of honor. Afterwards we headed to the beach bar which was a perfect end to the night. Overall highly recommend this spot and I am so glad I didn't let the negative reviews sway me otherwise! See for yourself what all the hype is about.

Yelp
The Halyard deserves a 100/10. My close friends had their wedding here and everything was beautiful, ran smoothly, and tasted unbelievably phenomenal. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. I had a few physical presents for my friends and when I asked where I could put them (I didn't not By far the best wedding meal I ever had, and definitely one of the best meals I ever had. The drinks were out of this world and the bartender was so friendly! I absolutely hate mushrooms and the Halyard had me eating a bunch of them. There is no prettier space either. Everything is a modern beachy feel. The entire restaurant has beautiful views. At one point it was pouring rain but you could still be outside because the deck was covered.
google avatar

Michele C.

Yelp
We came here for Valentine's Day. We had the best seat overlooking the sound. Our waitress Rhonda was very sweet and attentive! We started off with the Whipped Italian Ricotta as our appetizer. It was fresh warm ciabatta bread with ricotta infused with truffle honey which was amazing! For the main course I went with the Fresh Winter Truffle which was ricotta cavatelli with a creamy sauce. I don't think I ever had truffle before but it was pretty amazing. My husband had the Dry Aged Duck which he absolutely loved. For dessert we shared the cookies. They gave us 3 chocolate chip and 3 red velvet cookies. The red velvet cookies were ok. Chocolate chip cookies were better.

Yelp
Spectacular view. Drinks are delicious. Apps & entrees are delicious. They never answer the phone :( to make a reservation so it makes it hard to know if they got room for you or not. It's worth the wait when you get there tho. Lots of space and options to sit.
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Restaurant has a great view of the sound. Food is overpriced and just okay. Service is clumsy and inexperienced for the cost. Cross that off the bucket list.

James V.

Yelp
This was once my favorite restaurant. The new ownership is a DISGRACE. Read the menu carefully if you decide to dine here... 4% surcharge for "offering consistent quality". No, I'm not kidding. That should be included in the listed price for your entrées, Nathan...
google avatar

Yelp
This was One of my favorite places on the North fork been going for 30 years at least, this restaurant has been here for as long as I can remember formerly just called the Sound view now the Halyard. Love the view and the atmosphere really awesome feel. Wasn't very crazy about the menu way to "south fork" for the North fork. service was good as it always was. I can appreciate a smaller menu with eclectic selections but really needs to add some staple seafood options you'd expect to see at a restaurant on the water (maybe a surf and turf, clams, flounder, shrimp, etc but not over complicated) Hope it does well but I wouldn't rush back.

Alexandria B.

Yelp
So good! I love the seasonal menu changes! Wish the White Truffle Ricotta Focaccia would stay on the menu year round! Great waterfront view, lovely interior decor and quick and friendly service.

Yelp
This was our second time at the Halyard restaurant, we were a bit apprehensive as places generally are not as good the second time around. Wrong.... Fabulous!!!! We arrived a bit early for our reservation. It was our anniversary and I asked the host if we could have a table by the window... he obliged . The setting is absolutely spectacular. You're sitting at a table overhanging the rocky beach start of the LI sound. It's amazing. We started with drinks, a cosmo, local beer and a barefoot Summer (drink rimmed with habanero spice). All excellent, though my daughter said the spice burned her lips, yet didn't stop her from drinking it. For starters we had the grilled octopus and the green hummus with chips. I would absolutely recommend both. The waiter brought us all a glass of Prosecco to toast our anniversary, very, very sweet. Next we had our main courses.... My daughter and I had the bearnaise fluke..... utterly wonderful. My husband had the scallops with asparagus risotto, he loved it. We were going to get a dessert to share but the waiter brought us a slice of strawberry topped cheesecake with a candle. Dinner was perfect and worth every penny.

Yelp
Went to The Halyard recently and it was DIVINE! First of all the ambiance is incredible. The space is so serene and chic with tables overlooking the breathtaking Sound. The food is equally on point. On this particular night we tried the parsnip & apple soup which is such an interesting combo but SO GOOD, the tuna and the fluke were heavenly as well. Everything else on the menu sounds delicious, I can't wait to go back to try more! Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Oh and the old-fashioned piano bar with cozy burgundy leather booths & great local wine menu is a whole other experience in itself, so fun!!!

Yelp
We had dinner tonight and everything was excellent. We started with a perigold truffle tartine. My husband had the short ribs and I had the lobster tagarelli . Both were execellent. We split a chocolate mouse, he has a cappuccino and a coffee. For drinks I had the paid time off and my husband had the closer; we both had wine. Overall a wonderful evening.

Ilona P.

Yelp
Setting is beautiful. Food is not worth going for. Overpriced pretend to be fancy but needs lots if practice to reach what it's trying to. Even though the place was more than 50% empty the whole time, they would not seat you by the water ( empty tables) even when asked as it was a special occasion and reservation was made. Go for cocktails- they were worth it, by the piano bar or on the beach. Skip dinner

Yelp
We thought all the staff we interacted with, from greeting to dinner to the bar, were very professional and welcoming. The food (Cavatelli w/ mushroom Bolognese, Green Chick Pea Humus and Whole Food Plant based Plate) was exceptional. We lean towards Vegetarian and those dishes were thoughtfully constructed and prepared. Outstanding flavor and ingredients. Champagne Laherte Freres was a welcome introduction and our new favorite (we are fairly familiar with sparkling wines). We really appreciated the music, the highly skilled bartender and the informative introduction we received to Madeira's. The Restaurant and Bar are both on our radar for repeat visits. S & G

Yelp
After dining here for the second time in two months, I have to say I will never bother to return. Other than the view and pleasant surroundings, there is not much positive to say. On our first visit last month, we were guests at the hotel, and walked into the restaurant while waiting for our room to be ready. This was early April, certainly not peak season, and even though the restaurant was only about 10% full, the hostess asked if we had a reservation. When we told her no, she basically went on to reprimand us as if we were children, and said we needed to make lunch reservations in the future, and told us we could not have a table next to a window, even though they were all empty. She said they were being held for people with reservations. Well, for the hour we were there eating, not a single person was seated at any of the window tables. We returned yesterday to have lunch with friends, who had made reservations a week in advance (after we told them how we had been chastised by the hostess) and had specifically requested a table outside on the deck. Guess what? The hostess said we had not reserved an outdoor table (we absolutely did) and refused to seat us outside even though there were two empty tables out there. I've had enough of the snotty attitude at this restaurant. For people in the hospitality business, they need to learn the meaning of the word, because it is severely lacking. There are too many other fabulous options for dining in Greenport to bother with the unfriendly attitude of the staff we encountered here. Spend your money elsewhere.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous view from the deck. I've eaten there before and while the food is fine, not fabulous, the view makes up for it. HOWEVER-I won't be going back anytime soon unless currently management makes some changes. We have a family member who is immune-compromised and is only eating outdoors due to health concerns. When I made the reservation, I was VERY clear on open table that if a table was not available outdoors, we would be unable to eat at the restaurant. No one contacted me and so to be sure, I called ahead to reiterate. I was told that eating outside wasn't guaranteed, first come, first served. We arrived early only to be told that the deck was closed that night. When I pointed out that I'd both written and spoken to the restaurant about our issues, we were told. Oh, "I see that you mentioned your issues". They could have called us to let us know and we could have found a reservation elsewhere. Instead? We got dressed up, went with such lovely expectations and were treated terribly. No apology. No attempt by the staff to rectify a ruined evening. REALLY DREADFUL front of house customer-relations. We were essentially stared at by the hostess whose face radiated "oh my bad" and clearly did not care.

Yelp
Heavenly place with delicious food with a stupendous view. From the moment the valet parking attendant greets you through your last sip of latte and nibble of chocolate mousse, you are in for a memorable and magical treat. Relax and enjoy the garden fresh fare and seafood still moist from sea water. Many gluten free options so you have delicious choices.

Yelp
The only thing edible are the French fries. Beautiful spot that sadly falls so short of a good restaurant. Ice box cake was a complete joke. Good luck Hard to believe after a few years this place is still a dump.
