This is a great restaurant to go to especially if you are going to the performing arts center across the street. It was very busy but the service was kind and thoughtful albeit a bit slow. It was the weekend as well as the Holiday season so this isn't to be held against them it was purely circumstantial. The pictures don't really do the food justice; everything was flavorful and well balanced. The mushroom ravioli was 9/10 the shrimp appetizer was 9/10 and the drinks were all 10/10.

Google
Fun place for lunch or dinner at Albert Whitted Airport. We volunteer at the Dali museum and one of the people we work with told us about how good the food is here, they were right. Are kids were in town and we stopped in for lunch. Our daughter in law is gluten intolerant and they were happy to accommodate and were well versed in making sure she wasn't affected by cross contamination. It was a nice day and we sat out on one of the balcony's and watched the plans land and take off. I had the stuffed portobello burger with the pasta sals and it was great. The menu is pretty diverse with lots of things to pick from and they have a full bar.

Google
Honestly, my review would really be a 4.5 if that rating existed. The atmosphere and the view are just so enjoyable - being able to see small planes takeoff and land the entire time you’re there is quite a lovely experience, if you’re into aviation like I am. The service was very attentive. We visited at 12 noon before a Florida Orchestra performance at the Mchaffey theater. Had no problem making it to our 2 PM show. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich and fries which he really enjoyed. I had breakfast. My eggs were perfect but my sausage and biscuit were a bit overdone. We will definitely be back and give them a chance to earn that fifth star! For the reasonable prices, this is definitely a place to dine!

Google
Great place to eat. I loved being able to see the planes and the water. Indoor and outdoor seating is nice. The food was very good. Our server was welcoming and made the experience even better. (I believe his name was Douglas.) The prices are pretty good, considering the location. It was great to see a variety of people coming in. I would definitely try this place, particularly because it is walking distance from the Mahaffee and Dali museum, and it is a unique place to eat.

Google
“The Hangar: Where You Can Eat Like a Pilot Without Ever Leaving the Ground” The Hangar is hands-down the only place in St. Pete where you can eat a full meal before takeoff, during turbulence, and after landing — all without boarding an actual plane. The Aviator Wings tried to taxi down my throat, the Hangar Hamburger came fully first-class with brie (yes, BRIE), and the Chicken & Waffles hit harder than a TSA pat-down. The breakfast menu is served all day, so you can have waffles at 8 a.m. or 8 p.m., because apparently we’re all on pilot time. The cocktail list? Dangerous. The Hangar Martini nearly convinced me to buy my own aircraft, and the Ultralight Beam made me see God… or maybe that was just the gin. Plus, the beer and wine options are longer than most flight itineraries. 5 stars. Great food, great drinks, free parking, and no baggage fees. This is the only airport where the delays are delicious. ✈️😄

Google
Visited for breakfast which was delicious and very reasonable. It was very hot outside so we opted to sit inside although there’s really not a bad spot to sit due to very high ceilings and windows. Very cool to see planes taxiing, flying off and landing. But back to the restaurant. Great service, plentiful of plane memorabilia, omelets, eggs Benedict and espresso martinis were all good. The boy enjoyed The Cold Fashion which they loved.

Google
I love going to this place I usually enjoy myself… but when I came this time I was highly disappointed. I would not recommend ordering the ravioli. It is literally 25$ for 6 pieces of ravioli. Highly would not recommend. Watery sauce and ravioli was dry. This hurt my heart): Other than that great it is a breakfast place to go eat and enjoy.

Google
I was so pleasantly delighted by this place, it was unexpected. The bread was absolutely divine. I did not expect it to be a highlight, but it came with three different sides to pair with it, including a garlic chive butter, and a basil pesto, and it was incredible. The bread itself was soft on the bottom with a super crunchy flake on top. I don't even know why I'm still talking about this bread right now, but it was really just that good. The fries were also good, they're the type that have a crunchy texture on the outside with a soft chewy inside. I also had a salad with walnuts, strawberries, and it was good. I added chicken which was juicy and well cooked and seasoned. Overall, this place was really good. I will likely be back.

Yelp
Haven't been here for a while, and stopped for breakfast on a Monday morning. Our server was fantastic! So friendly and helpful which was refreshing. I settled on the avocado toast which also came with an egg cooked your way. First, the decaf coffee here is so good. You would never know it is decaf. Our food arrived hot and was pleasing to the eye. I wasn't as crazy about the avocado toast as I wanted to be. There was an unpleasant sourness that wasn't what I had anticipated. Bummer! Service continued to be excellent during our entire time.

Yelp
We dine here many times a year. Decent food and service. On Sunday, lots of activity on the airport. Fun to watch. Major holidays are another story. Had reservations for a party of 10 in 2024. Bit sketchy but decided to return this year. Arrived for our reservation time at 1:00. Ordered fairly promptly. We were abandoned for a whole. At 2:30, squash soup showed up luke warm. Too hungry to make an issue. After 3:30, entrees started trickling in. Also Luke warm. No explanation. Tepid apologies. Manager comped the drinks which was fair. We could have ordered from Fresh Market for a third of the cost and not lost the whole afternoon. We will return but never on a holiday again.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in the Tampa Bay Area. Located right at the small airport, the Albert Whitted airport in St. Petersburg. You have a great view of the planes coming in and out and they have great food and drinks. Excellent service and cool decor. I had have had the steak quesadillas and the meatballs, both were excellent. Great place to take kids because they can see the planes coming in and out.
google avatar

Vi N.

Yelp
I go there for their burgers and the unique view of seeing planes take off and land! Service is generally pretty good, can be slow during slow times but over-all a nice place for a casual, American lunch.
google avatar

Quinessa H.

Yelp
Stopped in before a concert and so glad I did. Decided to order the hanger burger and it's by far one of the best burgers that I've had in a long time. The cheese and the onion jam were selling points for me. The staff was hospitable and attentive while I was sitting at the bar. Definitely will be back the next time I'm across the bridge.
google avatar

Yelp
Just enjoyed lunch with a friend here today and demolished this shrimp & grits plate. I'm not used to having such large peppers, onions, and pieces of celery in this dish, but it was a welcome surprise especially considering how soft and well cooked the dish was. Shoutout to our server Ted!
google avatar

Zaid N.

Yelp
Good food and great atmosphere. Sat outside and watched small planes take off and land. Definitely a great experience and appreciated the zen! Food was alright but the views win the trophy! Would definitely come back and maybe fly one of these some day!

Yelp
I've heard about this place for a long time and finally went there for lunch after visiting the Dali museum. It's very cool to eat at a small private plane airport. We ate outside and watched the planes come and go. The restaurant was bigger than I thought... there's a bar in there , indoor and outdoor seating. We got a fondu appetizer to start that was good, the chopped salad was also very good. The 'Hangar' burger was great. The only negative , at least on this particular occasion ( my first time) ... the service was ridiculously slow in terms of getting the food after we ordered. Took well over an hour to get a couple of burgers... wow Our server was great / wasn't her fault I'd come back and try it again.... Maybe for breakfast which looked good on the menu

Christina U.

Yelp
Perfect spot for an airplane enthusiasts or kids! Normally we are handing out snacks and toys to keep our toddler seated at dinner. With the planes flying in and out, she didn't ask for a single snack or toy. Everything we ordered to eat was enjoyable and our server was wonderful.

Yelp
Love this place. Great view watching the planes takeoff and land. Lots of great options and vegetarian options too. Friendly service and quick.

Yelp
One of my St Pete breakfast go yo's for many years. Always FREE parking and never really encounter a wait and if we do only 10-15 minutes. Indoor/outdoor and bar seating with huge windows overlooking Albert Whitted Airport with views of tiny planes and helicopters coming and going. Across from Dali Museum. They are open BLD, but breakfast is my fave. Their omelets are good and home fries taste amazing. It is always consistent. I like that they use Zing Zang as their bloody mary mix. Full bar with creative options. Their prices are affordable. Good for groups and they even have a private room. Monday nights are jazz night. Enjoy!

Yelp
Great view and location near the Dali Museum. Service was excellent. Mussels were tasty but a bit too sweet. Drinks missed the mark and had to be sent back. Worth it for the vibe, but not for the cocktails.

Yelp
Whenever we're in Downtown St. Pete, we usually wind up at The Hangar for breakfast. This time around I ordered the Luggage Belt Sandwich, an egg sandwich, with lettuce and tomato and mayo. I ordered mine sans bacon. It was served on multigrain toast along with home fries. The sandwich was good, but not outstanding. Hubby ordered a 3-egg cheese omelet. He didn't think it looked like it had 3 eggs. It was a very basic omelet; again, good but just that. Our server was efficient, if not friendly. The setting is always interesting, as you get to see the planes take off and land. We definitely didn't want to sit outside, since it can get noisy. With downtown St. Pete churning out so many interesting and delicious restaurants, I'm not sure that going back to The Hangar is a priority for me. I like the laid-back feel of it, but they need to up their game a bit.

Yelp
In a nutshell, the restaurant is pretty cool as it sits right off the runways of the municipal airport. The service was pretty good and attentive. The food was good, but not great. This was the first time we have been back here for a few years. It is a really neat place to go especially if anyone in your party is into airplanes and airports. Lots of old pictures of the way things used to be like 75+ years ago so that makes it fun. Our first order of appetizers came out pretty cold. The bar staff after we mentioned the issue quickly took it back to the kitchen and brought out a new order that was really good. Kudos to them for how they handled that. If you're in the downtown area and have never been, it's worth a stop.

Yelp
How much fun was this? A lot. I usually don't expect much when a place is about the atmosphere or in a touristy area. It's right across from the Dali museum. If you're into aviation even better, for me that was worth going for. Everything was wonderful, friendly fast greeting, attentive service and the food also exceptional. Enjoyed the whole experience and would definately repeat it when traveling in the area. I realize there are so many choices and trying new places is a goal. However, when the food is very good and so is the atmosphere you can't help going back.

Yelp
Let me tell you - customer service -0 The server bald guy should not work as the server at all. Attitude, not a pleasant person at all. Order steak and eggs for my daughter , it didn't look good to me . I ask my daughter to wait and let me try it . as soon as I put this peace of meet in my mouth - so chewy - and smelly. I spit it out. Look at the color ? Absolutely Green . As soon as our server came I told him that this is not acceptable and how you serve old peace of meet to a child . He told me that it's fresh and because I don't like too doesn't mean nothing .

Yelp
Came to The Hanger for a Brunch Seminar. The decor is fun as everything is geared toward airplanes. There is inside and outside dining. The outside tables are right next to the planes. You can watch them coming & going. The seminar was inside in the back. Service was a little slow, things were forgotten, but there was only 1 server for our large group. For a starter they gave us a typical fruit cup filled with fresh fruit. Nothing special. For my meal I had the Oven Roasted Chicken Sandwich. It was presented on the plate with 2 halves and a side of chips. The sandwich was filled. It had spinach, goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and a balsamic. The sourdough bread was toasted perfectly. The sandwich was delicious and the flavors were a perfect compliment to the moist and tender chicken. I had asked for coleslaw instead of chips but was served the chips. The coleslaw arrived with my to-go box. For dinner I had the coleslaw and I can say it was good. Everyone in our group said their meals were wonderful. I would definitely come back.

Gail R.

Yelp
The food used to be very good. This time I tried their meatloaf wrapped in bacon. The outer sides(not with the bacon ) was burnt. This was the only bad meal. The other 3 people that I was with had good meals.
google avatar

Francisco D.

Yelp
The location was fun at the airport and views wonderful. The service was very quick and attentive. The drinks were good, and while the sauce on the nachos was good, I never had nachos actually be potato chips . This was a bit different and not as desirable.

Latitada H.

Yelp
Wonderful breakfast watching the planes take off! Amanda was our terrific server. The food choices were expansive for such a small place. We want to go back for dinner! It has a great bar!
google avatar

Yelp
What a fun place! Super cool atmosphere! It's the lounge for a small commuter airport right downtown. We each had a different salad and all were delicious, fresh and inventive. The service was excellent as well! Absolutely try the Hangar!
google avatar

Virginia G.

Yelp
Another great visit here with Robin as our server. He got the meaty omelet and grits with a biscuit..while I got the fondue. Both were delicious! I love you can order the full menu all day. Drinks were readily refilled while we lingered and enjoyed the view. Don't sleep on those bisquits..man they're good!
google avatar

Andrea D.

Yelp
Nice spot next to the Dali museum extensive menu. They serve Coke products + +. The eggs Benedict was really good. Served on a homemade biscuit, not an English muffin. Super friendly service. I liked sitting outside and looking at the planes.

Yelp
First and foremost, FIX YOUR ELEVATOR, disabled people in wheelchairs that come to dine, cannot! So bad.. some people with mobility issues can't climb two flights of stairs or walk for that matter. I am sure plenty of business comes here, but you are missing out on more...fix it! We were seated, Coke products served here, Root Beer is IBC and served in a bottle .placed an order for the Crostini bread served with Pesto, Garlic Butter and Olive Tepanade..absolutely delicious, waitress never brought plates and very hard to eat without everything landing on table..ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes, you get 4 in an order, served hot, they were o.k. but they should try a different batter for the outside since it was pretty much non existent..had to ask for plates, not sure why appetizers are served with no plates? Twice...service lacked badly and it was not eventhat busy, never came and checked on us, the server at the tables right by us was so attentive with his guests and checked and refilled drinks, told my husband I wish we had him..ordered a Cheeseburger and Fries served hot and fresh and very good..also a special Pasta dish with Shrimp and Olives and a spicy sauce and it was delicious as well...the food was very good, the service was very bad( she still got a good tip) and I still cannot get past a broken elevator for your guests ..my husband did not bring in his wheelchair and can walk a few steps and ended up on two flights of stairs we almost left, the table next to me was complaining as well about having to do the stairs..the place is cute inside and nice to see the planes going on and out...the broken elevator and the bad service give this place the one star.. Food excellent.. will try again in the area another time since the meal was so good and will ask about the elevator before coming...

Yelp
My reviews are to help the consumer not hinder the establishment. With that being said I will start with the GOOD. Jazz Jam is every Monday evening starting at 7pm. The band was phenomenal. The Airline Chicken was delicious. Garlic Mashed Potatoes, chicken breast topped with spinach and sun dried tomatoes in a cream sauce. Yummy. The BAD was my Salmon that was way over cooked (burnt on the bottom) and flavorless. My beverage of choice was The Rum Runner but it was not a strong drink just MID. This was a group function and The Banquet Room was rented. The tall male server that we had was very short when taking orders, a little snappy and impatient. Not good service at all. The atmosphere and vibe is what will make me come again.

Blue B.

Yelp
Eat here several times, food was always spot on! My usual go to on the menu are their delicious olive oil poached shrimps for the starter and roasted airline chicken or hangar steak! Food has been consistent, delicious and fresh. Staff is really friendly, never had to wait to be seated, they can get pretty busy but there is indoor and outdoor area as well as bar area. Parking also never been a problem, which is huge bonus in this area. On some days they have live music on but it's not too loud you can still talk and enjoy your food. It's a great spot if you like watching planes flying off and landing.
google avatar

Dina T.

Yelp
Walk across the parking lot from the Dali for one of the best Reuben sandwiches we have eaten in the Tampa Bay Area. Servers are attentive. The view of the airport fun.
google avatar

Julie W.

Yelp
We love eating here! Today I had biscuits and gravy with a bowl of fruit. My friend had the the flying chicken. Lol. W/a biscuit & cream cheese all were delicious. The atmosphere is quiet. But plenty of people. Awesome service and very cool views of the airport! There's a terrace for outdoor seating which is really fun! Check it out! Full menu w/veggie options too!
google avatar

Yelp
It has taken me a week to think about this comment as-to not over react immediately after visiting this establishment. Our family of seven ate Easter Sunday buffet and to bluntly state the food was cold, bland and of poor quality. I asked an employee twice if he could provide dry dishes at the serving line with a response of disgust on his face and never responded ( health code violation for sure). The egg soufflé was at best room temperature even after replenishing the tray with fresh food. The stench of seafood being served prevented all of us from trying it. Cold grits - awful! This is just a sample of what we encountered. Being locals, we have dined here several times but this restaurant obviously could not handle what was booked. The customers truly suffered from it. This experience was so disappointing we will not be returning or recommending this restaurant in the future!

Yelp
Best corned beef hash I've ever had IN. MY. LIFE. Every time I come here, I TRY to order something else but I just can't. It's that good. I've tried almost everything on the menu because I'm a compulsive bite-stealer though and everything is amazing. Everything. Always packed for a reason!
google avatar

Larry M.

Yelp
My wife and I were in st Pete on holiday and needed a bite. The Hanger was recommended by the hotel staff. On arrival we were greeted by a LOUD local band. Staff directed us to a calm outside patio. We were not ignored by staff being outside. The menu was simple but adequate. Quality was quite good. Portions were large. Will probably return when next in st Pete.
google avatar

Laura J.

Yelp
Our waiter was amazing. The food was hot and delish. I had a cheeseburger which was perfectly cooked. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Katherine W.

Yelp
Excellent food, eapecially omelets and the best corned beef hash we have ever had! Great sitting outside n the mornings watching planes landing and taking off.
google avatar

Linda A.

Yelp
This place is fun because it's in the airport and you can watch the planes come in and out all day. The food is OK... Nothing special, but it is very unique. Also they serve breakfast all day which is a nice plus. They have a great place to eat outside but it can't get windy. Don't try to go there when the Grand Prix is running they will be closed.
google avatar

Smitty Y.

Yelp
I'm pretty shocked at the low rating people have given this place. I love it here. Sunday afternoon, outside, lunch and drinks, watching plains land and take off. Always full when I leave, good food and one of the best Bloody Mary's to be had. Staff are overly nice, good service. Don't pass this up, from the reviews, way underrated. I go here at least two Sundays a month. No complaints. Thanks guys,Smitty

Jackie R.

Yelp
Always great service and food Been here quite often Came on Thanksgiving went they had no reservations available. It was just 2 of us and we were happy sitting at the bar

Yelp
I've been a repeat customer for years after a friend (that was in school to be a pilot) flew me down for dinner on Valentine's Day. There's something really magical about arriving at the door of a restaurant in a plane and getting to watch other customers fly in and out while you eat! Now I bring friends here whenever I can. The menu isn't too expensive ($13.5-$28 for entrees) and there's something for everyone! Recently, we all tried something new off of the "altitude" section of the menu, which I consider to be their specials. The $21 roasted airline chicken breast was really tasty, though I wish there had been a second side or larger portion of potatoes to make the plate more filling. While it's not hard to imagine a full house, I've personally never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for a table that seats 2-4. And that's after coming on multiple holidays and nights with live music!

Alice J.

Yelp
There is about 25 tables and a nice bar inside the Hangar which is all upstairs and a few tables outside with a nice view. There was about 3 servers total for lunch. They get very busy at lunch. I ordered the tacos with cole slaw. It was good but barely any coleslaw and for a side I thought that was odd because my husband got fries and there was enough for 2 people! I was still hungry, but they took so long just to order our drinks and then the food took 25 minutes. I thought who knows how long it would take to get more food. It would've been nice if they would have checked with us during the food wait cuz we could have ordered a bread service for $6 but they never checked on us. Probably should have ordered the BIG burger that is huge and pricey. Be ready to wait a while. I'd go again but only get fries and a drink. Parking is free but small parking lot. Ambiance is small to medium tables, airy, light and noisy from high ceilings.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
The staff are very friendly. The food was great. I like watching the planes land and take off.

David H.

Yelp
Have always come here for the ease of getting food before shows at Mahaffey Theatre across the street...sat down and ordered drinks at 6:10....15+ minutes before waitress came for food orders...were told 45 minutes for service...didn;t get served till 7:45ish...noticed food was slow coming out from the kitchen...we were right at their door...2 plates...another two plates a few minutes later....the plan e was full but there was little hustle going on...didn't get another drink order in till just before the food arrived...thinking their me a lack of restaurant cooks in the midst...but we missed the first song because of the slowness and lack of hustle.....food was okay, they informed they were out of what I ordered when bringing the off out...a little late to get a plate.I was fed but the others off their plates.....Yikes!

Yelp
Well. Its a neat place to take somebody oit of town. My experience was extra mediocre, i mean. It took like 45minutes to get lunch on a Wednesday. Place wasn't that busy at all. Ended up with a reuben. Objectively, the sandwich was good, chunks of meat, good sauce. My son had the kids cheeseburger, man there wasn't any cheese on it after that long ass wait. It was overdone as well. Would have asked the cook to hook it up but kids were hungry and we had been there for a hot minute. The prices are high. Its downtown st pete, the airport aesthetic is good for fans of aviation. The planes come n go as you are there. As a local, I probably wouldn't go back. It was extra long wait and the food/service didn't justify the price.

Tony D.

Yelp
Table of 6 was served by an amazing young woman who took very good care of us. We had the shrimp appetizer that was made with olive oil and seasoned perfectly. The pulled pork nachos were a great addition and suggestion from our server. Fish Tacos were delicious and served with some delicious ingredients. The reuben was also delicious and huge. The evening meal served with a side of Jazz was served up perfectly. A great evening. Please do not overlook this place. Been here several times and it's always been amazing.

C M.

Yelp
Everything was just okay. Food was okay. Was kinda cold. Service was okay. The guy came and asked for our drinks, then food, then how it was and then brought the check. It wasn't anything special. If you are nearby and need something. This would be a decent option. But if you know of something else better near by I would recommend that instead.

Ann T.

Yelp
Good food and service. A broad menu. Jazz on Monday nights. A few air plane landings and takeoffs to watch if that interests you.
google avatar

Jerry H.

Yelp
Our group of nine came here for lunch after the graduation ceremony for three of them. Everyone was pleased with the food and service. I'm sure they liked the price, too, since I paid for everyone. I started things off with the cheese fondue appetizer. The cheese was excellent and the dipping items of bread, granny smith apples and strawberries were good, there were not enough of them. Next, I had a turkey BLT on toasted wheat bread. It was good, but a little bland. The service was good. The prices were reasonable Like the Terminator, I'll be back.
google avatar

Valerie B.

Yelp
It's great food and some of the best scenery around.... If you like airplanes. My brother and I flew in just for lunch and it was totally worth it. Tons of food, reasonably priced, great friendly service. I had a natural burger and my brother had their cheesesteak. Their fries are awesome too! Not disappointed at all and we will be back!
google avatar

Mathew C.

Yelp
Great place near the pier for tasty food and a variety of drinks! I wish the filet mignon steak came with a side of home fries to make it more filling given the price, but that's my only gripe. Thanks for accommodating our big family! The kids loved watching the helicopter land and seeing all the planes

Donna P.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, good food at fair prices and the service is always good! You are able to sit outside or by the windows to watch the planes take off and land. Thanks for a good experience.
