The Best Cheap Eats in Jacksonville, Florida | Eater Miami

"There’s nothing better than a grilled cheese to bring comfort to a meal. Comfort food fills the menu at the Happy Grilled Cheese, where most items are under $10. One of the most popular sandwiches is the Mac Melt, which combines three cheeses, grilled onions, and house-made macaroni and cheese into one perfectly griddled sandwich. For something even more decadent, try the Porky the Melt, which piles pulled pork, bacon, ham, tomatoes, grilled onions, and three cheeses between two pieces of bread."

Happy Grilled Cheese is the spot for specialty grilled cheese sandwiches topped with everything from macaroni and cheese and pulled pork to hot chicken and mozzarella cheese. Each grilled cheese can also be completely customized with add-ons like avocado, a drizzle of tomato soup, or bacon. Their sandwiches are good. I enjoy their fancy schmancy which is filled with a small variety of options. I get a packet of ketchup for my fries. 🥪 🧀 🍟 🍅 🐐 🥓 🧅 🌿

Google
Melted cheese on bread - what is not to like? Seriously though, this place has made an art of serving grilled cheese sandwiches. Their pride in the work comes through with delicious options to choose from. The vibe of the place and the enthusiasm of the staff also make this a fabulous lunch experience.

Google
This place is out of control amazing! I wish I knew about it the first day I was in town because I would have went EVERYDAY! There were about 15 sandwiches as well as a burger I wanted to try. The cheese and jalapeño fries were delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall an outstanding experience. The only downside is that I do not live close enough to go everyday.

Google
After lunch they’re not too busy. Great customer service. The sandwiches were delicious. Best garlic Parmesan fries I’ve ever had. Cool music selection.

Google
Absolutely amazing!!! Tried out several different grilled cheeses and they were all amazing!!! Would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves grilled cheeses with a twist. You will not be disappointed. The only downfall is they are only open from 1100-3pm Monday thru Friday. I tried the following sandwiches; Happy Melt, OMG Melt, Daddy of the Mac, and Cheesy Jalapeno Popper melt. The establishment itself is small with a couple tables available to eat inside. There are also a few public tables outside as well.

Google
Decent little hole in the wall place with a big menu full of grilled cheese options. I’d love to come back and try other ones. This time I went with the pulled pork grilled cheese with tomato soup. It was great. Service was fast. Location does not have dedicated parking.

Google
Great little lunch spot - a hidden gem! Fancy pants, delicious grilled cheese options make for a great lunch served me super nice folks. They're made to order and the Crunch on the bread is just right! Definitely definitely definitely save room for dessert and get the s'mores. Trust me. Add bacon if you're feeling frisky. I can highly recommend Porky the Melt and my wife is a big fan of The Crunch.

Google
If you are a cheese lover, you need to try this food! I had the pleasure of eating their sandwiches years ago at a neighborhood food truck event and it was awesome! My husband and I finally made time to visit this food truck again last weekend and it did not disappoint! I love that this truck isn't just a grilled cheese place - there are so many different options. Don't make the mistake of thinking it's "just" a grilled cheese sandwich.

Jay K.

Yelp
The workers and service are stellar! The man at the counter, Will, was fantastic and so kind. He elevates the experience by far. There are so many options for food and it is all delicious. There's a handful of tables inside but we decided to sit outside because the weather was nice! Great spot for lunch as it is very quick.

Yelp
My nephew was begging to go here for lunch for his birthday, so we went! I had been to their truck years ago (previous review) when they used to come to my neighborhood and I was looking forward to it! Found parking and headed on in...the first thing that hits you is the smell...followed by the overall look...but if the food was the way I remembered, I was willing. There were 6 of us. Only tables for four. We didn't know and that's not their fault. Sign on the drinks that only ice water was available...so that started our adventure. I'm guessing they do a big takeout business. Anyhow, we ordered 7 sandwiches and a couple orders of fries. The sandwiches were ok but missing one really essential element, cheese!!! So much so, they kept falling apart. Very dry...but tasty. The fries were actually really good. Overall, if I worked in the area, I *might* consider ordering again but only if others were dead set on it. The smell of the place is lingering...not in a good way. I wouldn't go out of my way...it should be renamed The Formerly Happy Grilled Cheese. It kinda made me sad.

Yelp
On impulse we stopped in for a bite while tooling around downtown Jacksonville. Glad we did. Had a quick bite and a leisurely conversation with Will, the guy behind the counter. He was interested and interesting and gave us some great advice on local things to do during our visit. The food was good and the ambiance was neat. Great spot for a drop in nosh.

Yelp
It's been a long wait & their AWESOME WIN at the Landing Food Truck gathering on Sat 10/1/16 made my trip to them today so much more meaningful!!! Order: "Mac & Cheese" & order for their special seasoned fries & water for hydration! The sandwich was delicately wrapped in foil (didn't let them know I was eating on location) & was made fresh on the spot! Had to let my meal cool down some so I started my fries! I didn't think much of the fries but pleasantly surprised at the tangy, sweet with a touch of heat the spices brought to these nicely cut potatoes. Fried to perfection (crisp outside & moist inside!). After few minutes with my fries, I was ready to take my 1st bite of my sandwich. Dividing the slices in half, the amount of cheese, both from the sandwich & the Mac & Cheese, oozed into fine strings of goodness, & from the initial bite introduced the sophisticated flavors of leveled cheeses & textures that cannot be fully comprehended it a single taste! The touch of sautéed red sweet onions was a nice touch! I'm used to dunk'n my grilled cheeses into a warm tomato soup but due to the current weather situation, I can't recall ever needing anything at the moment. Though small design inside is inviting & well enough to get your lunch & go!!! There's plenty of varieties their menu offered that I look forward to testing in the very near future!!! GREAT JOB, H.G.C.T!!! MUST TRY & REPEAT AGAIN... a true Jax Treasure!!! of 5 (5 of 5) #happygrilledcheesetruck @happygrilledcheesetruck

Yelp
I loved this place! It was a very well priced lunch option in jax! I got the mac n cheese grilled cheese with their jalapeno loaded fries! They also have house made sauces that were delicious -- we tried the ranch. The service was fast and we came not during lunch hour so unsure how busy it gets during peak hours. The place was very cute and bright as well!

Yelp
For a quick lunchtime grab it was perfect! The sandwich was delish. The fries were covered in black pepper which is not a fave for me. They were cooked well though. The gentleman at the cash register taking orders was interesting, funny and provided great customer service. The shop itself is a dive, but that didn't bother me at all. I took the sandwich back to the office and ate there. Try it!

Yelp
Very casual place downtown. 30 minute parking right in front, but there are two hour meters around the corner. Staff is super friendly and the food was really delicious.

Yelp
Y'all. The Happy Grilled Cheese is a BLESSING. I was emotionally moved when I took my first bite of this sandwich, it tasted that good. I don't have words to describe how good it was, you just need to go try it. Now! The atmosphere is lovely, everyone is greeted warmly and you can tell there are numerous regulars. Warm, inviting, DELICIOUS and speedy service even as they got busier and busier are the top ways I'd describe my experience and observations. Also, I'm so grateful when businesses take the time to keep something simple like gluten free bread around because it's the difference in my being able to eat there or not. I usually order the Uncle Vinny's Melt on GF bread with a dip size tomato soup and garlic Parmesan fries. I also tried one of the specials, the spinach artichoke melt. It was equally amazing. A few notes on gluten free: there is risk of cross contamination, check about the soup to see if it was made with a roux that day or not and I think the fryer is shared. Those more sensitive than me may want to exercise more caution.

Yelp
Every time I order here it is the best grilled cheese I've ever had , they keep surprising me

Yelp
I was nearby dropping off something at UPS nearby and saw a handful of people leaving a place with smiles on their faces; I was now curious. I walked over and there was the happy grilled cheese ! Ironic I know. I ordered the happy melt, steak melt, drink and fries. Boy! Let me tell you what! Amazing grilled cheeses and the fries were stoooopid good. There was definitely more than one type of cheese in there, but still felt nostalgic due to the plain white bread they use. The inside of the place is not that inviting; it makes you kind of just want to eat quickly and leave. Oh and the paint job on the wall that's supposed to look like melting cheese kind of looks like dripping blood instead.. definitely did a double take on that one! The only downside of this place is that it's $5-$8 per grilled cheese sandwich (not including fries/side/drink). I'd need to eat at least 3 sandwiches to get full, so this won't be somewhere I'll come back to often; although I will definitely bring my nieces and nephews when they are in town !

Yelp
Best grilled cheese I've ever had. This whole in the wall place combines the most satisfying of ingredients to make a sandwich you'll have peaceful dreams about for weeks. The perfect amount of cheese, not too salty and very affordable.
google avatar

Blair C.

Yelp
Most creative grilled cheese sandwiches I've ever tasted in my life! And let me tell you!!! They do not disappoint!! This was my second time here. The first time I tried the Daddy of the Mac. It has 3-cheeses, macaroni and cheese with a nice serving of pulled pork. Today, I was feeling pretty hungry so I asked for a recommendation and was told to try the chicken Parmesan melt. And ooh wee!!! It's filled with cheese, fresh chicken, mozzarella sticks and marinara. The bread is toasted perfectly golden with just the right amount of butter. My hat goes off to this place! Can't wait to try something else on the menu!

Yelp
I came here to he other day for a quick lunch meeting. I wasn't expecting too much from a quick glance at photos but I liked my visit. I got the Turkey melt and it was solid. Instead of eating fries I ordered cole slaw and that was a mistake. The cole slaw was pretty bad. Some of the other items I saw looked pretty good. I wouldn't mind trying some other items.

Shane R.

Yelp
came here for lunch, guy at the counter was great in explaining everything and very enthusiastic, actually seemed like he was happy to be there unlike most other restaurants. As for the food I had the duval chicken grilled cheese and it was one of the better sandwiches I've ever had. Food was cheap fast and delicious, can't ask for anything better than that. Highly recommend stopping by this place.

Yelp
There's nothing a love more than cheese :) everyone working, there was extremely welcoming, and even though it was a bit of a weight, it was well worth it. I got the garlic, Parmesan french fries, which were absolutely delicious and I could not stop, inhaling them, as well as a regular grilled cheese sandwich, but I was allowed to substitute American cheese for Swiss, which made me really happy. I'm a simple creature at heart. Honestly, the only thing I didn't like about this place is how smoky it was inside, it even hurt my eyes.

Yelp
Food was great as always when I go there (downtown location), & service and ambiance wonderful as always! I had the Vegetarian Melt (with sinfully-ripe avocado), cooked perfectly as always, and small dipping-size of tomato soup with it. (Next time I may try the Hippie Melt, with vegan (non-dairy) cheese, to see if I like.) Also, great that they are located right next to a skyway terminal; I'll use that in future like I did today, and again go straight from my job to HGC and back again without having to drive / park downtown. (And they had a bonus today, a cute puppy in the sidewalk outside for me to play with while I waited for my food!) David Nielsen

Yelp
The sandwich was excellent. The wait time was unacceptable. I will try them again only if I call the order in WAY ahead.

Yelp
The Happy Grilled Cheese recently opened a shop in Mandarin, but all of the toasty sandwiches I've enjoyed came from their food truck. Each time never disappoints. I paired each sandwich with a dip size of their homemade tomato soup for just a buck. Perfectly toasted gourmet grilled cheese goodness! Rundown of what I've ordered so far: - Happy Melt - American, Cheddar, & Mozzarella Melted to Perfection - All American Melt - Three Cheeses, Bacon & Tomato - Steak Melt - Three Cheeses, Sliced Steak, & Grilled Onions - California Melt - Three Cheeses, Turkey, Bacon, Tomato & Avocado - Uncle Vinny's Melt - Mozzarella, Salami, Pepperoni, Ham, Pesto, Tomato, & Red Onion - Cuban Melt - Swiss, Mozzarella, Pulled Pork, Ham, Pickles & Mustard - Mamma Mia - Mozzarella, Mozzarella Sticks, Salami, Pepperoni, Ham, Pesto, & Marinara - Porky the Melt - Three Cheeses, Pulled Pork, Bacon, Ham, Tomato & Grilled Onion Friendly service. What should I try next? Maybe a Tuna Melt? Blue Collar Melt? Or maybe a Ham & Cheese Please Melt?

Yelp
So I have to preface this and say that I am not a grilled cheese person naturally. I never liked it as a child and I never make it at home either. However, when I first saw the HGC food truck at Spark ( years ago), I decided to try it! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! Now they have a store front on San Jose, which is so awesome!! I had the Mac & cheese grilled cheese (years ago) and it was decadent and so tasty! It was definitely a heavy sandwich for me, but worth it!! This recent visit I had the buffalo chicken grilled cheese. Listen, if you like buff chick then you will be so pleased!! I absolutely loved it! They add jalapeños, which is a great addition for heat but they also soak up some of the buff sauce. Absolutely try it, if you like buff!!

Yelp
I love this little hole in the wall. The staff is amazingly friendly and the food is always perfect. If you are downtown it's a must try. They have inside seating and a restroom. Parking can be difficult but definitely worth it

Yelp
I never grew up on grilled cheese, but who knew that there is an extensive slew of delicious combinations involving two slices of bread and a slice (or two... or three) of cheese?! HOLY CHEESUS! Jacksonville, we have hit a gooey gold mine! I caught the food truck at a festival a couple of weeks ago, but even as I'm getting around to this review, I can still remember my first bite. Initially, I was put off with the line at the food truck and the price. Like who pays for a $5-10 sandwich you could easily make at home?! It was hot outside and I wasn't really hungry for something that I felt would be too heavy on my stomach. However, my friend convinced me that it was worth the wait to give them a shot. I'm so glad I did. I ordered the No Hangover Melt which had three cheeses, mac & cheese, pulled pork, grilled onions, slaw, and pickles for $8. It was hefty, savory, and *belissimo*! (Insert the Chef's Kiss gesture here.) Talk about fully loaded on both content and satisfaction! They really provide a different take on a childhood sandwich, and I'm sure if I had ordered another one, it would be as delicious as the one before. So again I ask myself, "Who pays for a $5-10 sandwich?" If it's as good as what The Happy Grilled Cheese makes, then apparently I do!
google avatar

Quy M.

Yelp
I was like who the hell would pay $5 for a grilled cheese sandwich when I first saw the menu on this truck. I am the guy that will pay $5 for a grilled cheese sandwich... My go to is the loaded fries. For $7 I get a container of fries that's topped with melted cheese, seasoning, pulled pork and jalapenos. End of review.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Been hearing about the food truck for years, then Monday I encountered the store front on San Jose this past Monday while running errands. Once again HGC peaked my interest, and I got my 1st grilled cheese, the All-american. Blew my mind, SO GOOD!! Very friendly staff, currently sitting out on their sweet patio, service is so fast. I'm just gonna warn any prospective customers: if you don't like smiling or if you don't wanna get hooked on this delicious menu, don't come. Highly addicting.
google avatar

Yelp
It's incredibly hard to say no when you see this tasty and cheesy food truck in any nearby vicinity. I've had my fair share of sandwiches at UNF, while shopping in St. John's Town Center, and lately, food truck fridays at work. With a wide variety of cheesy delights, there's a sandwich for everyone on the menu. My favorite is the daddy of the Mac sandwich, the pulled pork is a delectable addition to the classic-grilled-cheese-but-with-a-macaroni-twist sandwich. Sandwiches are perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside, always leaving you wanting more. Aside from the happy grilled cheeses you can order, I also really enjoy the fries here. I love the semi-sweet seasoning with a spicy kick that they toss the fries in. I would highly recommend this place over majority of the food trucks in Jacksonville. It's great bang for your buck and will not let you down!
google avatar

Crystal O.

Yelp
Well- I am happy! I have been eyeing this food truck for a while- and technically I have had them before- but it was Brew at the Zoo and it was samples, so I was saving the review for when I actually bought a grilled cheese. But I honestly already knew that I loved them. Who doesn't love the ooey gooey melted cheeses offered between buttery toasted bread! Well- maybe the lactose intolerant- but lucky for me, that does not apply! I kept it simple, but next time... I will be ordering something with a little more pizazz! I was in snack mode- not full blown hangry today (gratefully). I imagine I will be dreaming of cheese tonight.

Yelp
C'mon now, what's not to love about The Happy Grilled Cheese? They've stepped up their game at the newish Downtown brick and mortar restaurant. Not liking this Jacksonville staple is comparable to not liking bread and cheese in general. To be honest, when I visited the truck the first couple of times, I wasn't completely sold. Grilled cheese and fries are a group of foods that always hit the spot, even if they're not over the top. But having visited the Downtown digs a handful of times, I'm completely on board this train! Everyone from the cashiers to the cooks to the management are as genuine as can be. They continually put a smile on my face. As far as the food is concerned, I always stick with the special of the day. My most recent offering, the pastrami melt, was melty meaty spicy goodness sandwiched between two buttery slices of bread. Again, what's not to love?! THGC has manufactured itself into a finely tuned machine. Although limited hours during the week and closed on weekends, they are continuing to put Downtown on the map. And that's something we all need to rally behind. Stay cheesy, y'all.
google avatar

Edward A.

Yelp
Finally made it to their brick and mortar. I frequented the truck when it was in the vicinity and a couple of times when it wasn't. :) Grateful they have opened a location that is less than 2 miles from my office. Parking can be a challenge during peak periods since they are close to Hemming Plaza so street parking is rolling the dice, but the food is worth a few trips around the area or walking a few blocks. Everything is made fresh and the sandwiches are on point. All experiences of different menu items have consistently delivered gooey goodness with creative flavor profiles. Today I tried the California melt for the first time with three Cheeses, turkey, bacon, tomato, & avocado. It left me yearning to return to for the same sandwich while at the same time, knowing I would want to try something new because I know it'll be good as well. It's a cheesy sandwich paradox to say the least. It took Yelp restaurant week for me to finally make it to the brick and mortar but I will definitely be back. And don't forget their homemade tomato soup - get the dipper at the very least or treat yourself to a bowl.
google avatar

Yelp
The Happy Grilled Cheese served me one of the most delightful sandwiches I've ever tasted. I heard of the food truck from several friends and was pleasantly surprised when they participated in a food truck rally on Beach Blvd near 295 which was not far from my house. I ordered the California melt which included one of my favorite fruits, avocado. This was absolutely the best grilled cheese I've ever had the pleasure of eating! Each bite melted in my mouth and I was sad when it was gone lol. I will seek out this food truck again soon and I will bring along friends this time because it's just selfish to experience this scrumptious food alone.
google avatar

Yelp
Super unique and cool grilled cheese place. Diverse menu options with classics and different choices that anyone will like. Their fries are so good, some of the best I've ever had. Definitely try this place if you've never been!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is phenomenal! The customer service is out of this world kind, the food is creatively delicious and the ambiance is fun and inviting. 100% recommend to anyone who loves grilled cheese. Don't sleep on this one.
google avatar

Yelp
While exploring downtown, we stumbled across this place and after reading the menu decided to give it a try. The food was great and the kids absolutely loved it. When you think of finding a hole in the wall type of place with great local food, this is it. If you are in the area, this is worth the stop. Not fancy, no frills but good food.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
This restaurant is hard to find on this busy road. Once you find parking you need to keep your attention on the address as you walk around. The inside is small. The inside is clean 6 tables. There is also a seated bat on the main window 6 more people. You order at the counter when you walk in. You also fill your drinks at the self serve in the counter. The cups they provide are well above average. The food is big in portion size. The recipes are mostly unique. The food taste amazing. It has a fresh made taste. If you like cheese sandwiches you will love this place. Customer service is friendly and eager to help. There is no free WiFi There is no military discount
google avatar

Yelp
Decent food. Decent staff. That's all I'm willing to give them. Been coming here for a while but unfortunately it's evolving into something more like The SAD Grilled Cheese. I only get 45 min for lunch everyday... After making it over here from Springfield and fighting parking for an overpriced cheese sandwich, they randomly stopped the line two people ahead of me to CLOSE EARLY? Said they weren't accepting more orders... 2.5 hrs before posted closing time. I won't be returning here if this is how they run their business.
google avatar

Jamie I.

Yelp
Who doesn't love grilled cheese??? Happy Grilled Cheese has a brick and mortar shop to accompany their food truck. It's a small shop with an interesting paint job that kind of looks like melty cheese dripping down the wall. Whether you're a grilled cheese purist or like to put everything but the kitchen sink into your sandwich, you're going to find something you want to eat here. I've had the original happy melt, the mac and cheese melt, and the original with added bacon. There is a board up front with daily specials of sandwiches and cheese fries. For sides, there are some healthy options if I remember correctly, but I recommend a dipper of tomato soup for your sandwich and a side of fries. The fries are shoestring, crispy, and dusted with a great seasoning powder. If you love toasty sandwiches, cheese and carbs, you have found your dream place. Go forth and eat cheese!

Yelp
We've wanted to try this spot for some time and came by on a weekend but the physical store was closed. We found out later that they're only in the truck on the weekends, so that's good to know for future visits. (He told us they are at the Towne Center on Sundays - so keep that in mind if you're in that area!) Busy spot on a weekday afternoon. You could tell the newbies (us) from the regulars as we were busily drooling over the menu while others walked right up to the counter and put in their order from memory. I would have a hard time choosing the same sandwich each time though as there are so many that sound quite yummy. I opted for the Crunch Melt. Hey, might as well go full out on the first try, right? This amazing sandwich comes with bacon, potato chips (thus the "crunch"), mac and cheese, and of course a delicious blend of cheese that are ooey-gooey. The bread alone made me swoon. Crisp, buttery, oh my delicious. Teen went for the Cuban and gobbled up every bite. Hubby chose two (of course!) and tried the Cheesy Jalapeno Popper and the Steak Melt. He liked the Steak Melt, but his favorite was the Jalapeno Popper. He said it tasted just like what it's called. We also shared some Fries and a Mediterranean Pasta Salad. Fries were good, but would have liked a little more seasoning. Salad was okay. Nothing special and pretty tiny for a $3 charge. The also offer a "dipping" size of tomato soup for just $1. Nothing better than a crispy grilled cheese dunked in tomato soup - next time I'll be doing that for sure!

Lauren B.

Yelp
The guy that takes your order is super nice. I've only come here like 4 times so far over the last couple months and he recognizes me! The sandwiches are unlike anything I've ever had. Waiting for my grilled cheese with steak and bleu cheese on it (what??!) right now and I'm very excited. Happy grilled cheese more like ecstatic grilled cheese!

Yelp
Every attempt I've made to indulge in The Happy Grilled Cheese has failed. The line is always long...so I'd walk off and try another food truck. I had time today. The Happy Grilled Cheese boasts a wide variety of cheesy grilled goodness. There's a tuna salad grilled cheese...BLT grilled cheese...veggie grilled cheese...I mean wondrous, unimaginable versions of the grilled cheese sandwich. I kept it simple and ordered the Happy Grilled Cheese. Three different cheeses between bread melted into a buttery, gooey delight. I even ate the crust, which says a lot. The seasoned fries weren't too bad either. Their prices are very reasonable and their menu seems endless. Now, you know why their line is always long.
google avatar

Yelp
The food truck is better. This review is for the restaurant on Hogan Street store in Downtown Jacksonville. I came early they weren't busy yet. There was no greeting. No hi or welcome. The cashier appeared annoyed to take my order and she was very protective of their menu as if I was going to steal it. I advise that I am going to place an order and need photos for yelp. The food here is ok. For almost an $8 sandwich, it is not worth the price. I got the grilled veggie sandwich it had 2 thin slices of avocados, 2 thin slices of tomatoes and some grilled onions... meh If your in downtown Jax, Fl, I recommend that you visit the Urban Food Truck Court and try their food Truck. They stuff the sandwiches until everything in the inside falls out!
google avatar

Ranze N.

Yelp
Love this place! Even from the time they were only on the truck. ALSO, I just realized they had an other location on San Jose (still far to me from the beaches but still good to know). But their Hogan location is a nice 5-8 top spot. It's also adjacent to hemming park so there's outdoor spots near it and places like the library and surrounding spots to check out. Staff was nice. And they were pretty fast with our food. We came around 2 o'clock so I'm sure we missed the lunch crowd. So usually when we eat here, I get the "daddy of the Mac" (pulled pork, Mac and cheese, on a grilled cheese). Bread is buttery, toasty outside and chewy inside, the Mac is pretty good (has good amount of sharp cheddar/flavors) and you get a decent amount of pulled pork. But lately I noticed that the pork has been getting pretty heavily 'seasoned' (almost to heavily salted). So to get away from the salt and pork, I have been switching it up to ordering the Mac melt (Mac n Cheese) grilled cheese and I request to add chicken. 1000% better. You get clean protein and not too much salt. The wife ordered the regular grilled cheese with their tomato soup. That's her 'go-to'. This was her first time trying it, and dipping, her sandwich in the soup. The soup was still bright and tomato-y with hints of herbs and seasoning. Last but not least, the fries! You have to order fries! They're like McDonald sized fries but fresh-er and crispy-er. It comes with a good amount for about two. The seasoning is the bomb! There's hints of season salt BUT there's a twist in there I can't figure out. But there is a very light note of sweet. Maybe a dash of brown sugar in their seasoning blend? Whatever it is, it's definitely a must with anything you order here.

Yelp
Picture this. You finally swipe a half-decent guy on the Tinder, you get a great conversation going, and you make plans to meet up downtown for a first date. You're panicking, you haven't planned a date in years, your dating AND social skills are rusty, and you'll be heading there directly after your Daughter's fifth grade graduation. What's a girl to do? No one complains while eating a grilled cheese. And eat we did. I laid it all out on the table with a power move, and ordered the OMG Melt. I knew what I was about. He either got the buffalo chicken or the one with pepperoni. It's fuzzy. What mattered was that Sparks flew in this Grilled Cheese hut! We didn't know it, but something beautiful was in the making, and four months later, we're happy as can be. The reusable cups are a great souvenir for our first date

Yelp
You know when you take a bite of something so good you just have to take a second, lean back in your chair and savor it? Yeah, this is that kind of food. I've heard about a gazillion people in town rave about this truck, and I'll be honest... past me was like ok sure grilled cheese are good but it can't be that great? A sandwich with a slice of cheese? What is there to be impressed by? Well past me was WRONG. (My sincerest apologies, I was younger then...) There is so much more to it than some bread and a slice of cheese. If you do opt to go with just cheese there's about 5 different kinds (maybe more?) to pick from. But I'd not recommended doing that because...THERES MEAT! A grilled cheese with pulled pork and macaroni and cheese on it is everything I never realized I needed in my life. Their menu is super extensive and I was shocked at how much you could possibly dress a grilled cheese up. I am so stoked to stop by next time they're in my neck of the woods. You best believe I will. And you should too!

Yelp
This was just a dang good grilled cheese sandwich! I have kept away from this truck because "what... I can make a grilled cheese sandwich at home! " But they caught the eye of me and my daughter one day at the town center for a quick and easy lunch. We split the Daddy of the Mac- cheese, pulled pork, grilled onions, macaroni and cheese all squished between two buttered pieces of bread. In my head i thought wow this thing is going to be huge with stuff coming out everywhere...lol uh no, it was perfectly sandwiched inside. We both ate our half quickly and I could have easily eaten a whole one, it was gooey, and melty, you could taste the pork, the Mac and cheese gave it more substance and it was just good all around. If your in the mood for a grilled cheese this is your spot!

Yelp
Lawd! This place is good. If I am within a 15 minute driving distance to the place during the day, I HAVE TO GO! Grilled cheese and tomato soup is my go to comfort food. I initially tried their food trunk by accident and have since been hooked. I literally sit around waiting for the next time I can be available to go. They offer every permutation of a grilled cheese one could imagine. Not for the faint of heart or the lactose intolerant. They sandwiches are the real deal. I generally get the grilled cheese that contains onions and macaroni & cheese with a side of the dipping sized tomato soup. The soup alone is fabulous but paired with the sandwich make my flavor palette jump for joy. There are options to add bacon, pulled pork, chicken, mozzarella sticks and a variety of other things to the sandwich. They even offer french fries. I've told everyone I know about this place and make every visitor go here with me. You should go there. Don't pass go, don't collect $200. Get a grilled cheese sandwich!

Yelp
As a grilled cheese addict I was SO EXCITED to try this place and they did not disappoint! I ordered the Fancy Schmancy sandwich and my friend ordered the Black and Bleu melt. Both were FANTASTIC AND PERFECT. Plus an order of garlic Parmesan fries. They really know how to combine some good flavors. I also ordered the tomato soup...but I couldn't finish it. It was too tart and filled with too much thyme and oregano. But over all a great place for a grilled cheese. I will certainly be returning!

Yelp
We went to Oktoberfest in Jax beach today and we found this little gem. I've been wanting to try it for years! A perfectly executed grilled cheese is close to heaven in my book. There wasn't a line, which was amazing, but there were probably 15 people waiting on their food ahead of me. It didn't matter though because they were pushing them out quickly and everything was very organized. I choose the "cruncher" grilled cheese. It had three cheeses, bacon, crumbled chips, MAC AND CHEESE, and a drizzle or tomato soup. Oh my god y'all. The bread was cooked perfectly. The homemade ranch on the side was perfection. I highly recommended this little slice of heaven :)

Yelp
Omg omg omg. This was a dang good grilled cheese. The prices are reasonable and the service is good. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the portions are a little small, but it makes sense considering this is a lunch spot.

Yelp
Been wanting to visit this place for a while now. Glad we were able to make it today. It can surprisingly hold a good crowd even for such a small place. Perfect spot for work lunch and there were plenty of delicious sounding sandwiches to choose from. I had the Cordon Bleu grilled cheese and my friend had the Reuben. We both wanted to try each other's order so we each had half of each. We also had their garlic Parmesan fries. It was the most satisfying work lunch I've had in a while! Wish they were open on the weekends though. Will definitely be back!
