The Happy Tart is situated on the ground floor of Pearson Square apartments in Falls Church, VA. This community-focused bakery specializes in gluten-free, irresistible pastries, cakes, and cafe treats, offering a variety of gluten-free options for breakfast and brunch. Its colorful decor includes cushions, Christmas ornaments, toys, a large pink Christmas tree with lights, and funky decorations, creating a cozy, warm, and joyful atmosphere that matches its name. The staff was friendly and explained the breakfast choices before we ordered. We enjoyed their coffee, which was high quality and not watered down. The tiramisu was excellent—moist, sweet, and coffee-flavored—very satisfying, while the eclair was dry and less sweet. The breakfast crepes were tasty, healthy, and perfect gluten-free options.

Delicious gluten free food! The whole restaurant is gluten free. Dairy free items are mentioned. I had a quiche. We also had a couple of crepes.

This place is heaven!!! Everything is GF. I am not dairy free so I didn't try anything but they have some DF items. I got the chicken pot pie meal, which was lovely and so nice to have a crust that didn't disintegrate. I also got a cheesecake which was amazing! They were testing a new bread recipe and let me try a piece. It looked like real bread! Tasted like bread! And did not feel like a brick when holding it! The employees were very kind, patient and seemed happy to be there. I will be back when I'm in the area.

I was wonderfully impressed with the quality of work done to make a cake for my birthday! It was incredibly delicious and I would recommend anyone who is looking to purchase a cake (or any dessert) for a special occasion to definitely go to The Happy Tart! You won’t be disappointed!

I stopped by The Happy Tart in Falls Church today after seeing it’s under new ownership, and I couldn’t be happier! The shop is clean and more organized, which is such a positive change from before, and they now have more pastry options to choose from. The girl at the front desk was lovely and helpful, making the experience even better. I tried a chocolate chip cookie, a chocolate cinnamon twist, and our favorite raspberry petite fours — everything was absolutely amazing, much better than before. If you visited under the old ownership and had a sub-par experience, I highly recommend giving The Happy Tart another try. It’s so wonderful to see things looking up, and I’m so grateful to have delicious gluten-free goodies nearby!

We ordered our wedding cake through The Happy Tart bakery, and it was absolutely stunning! It looked gorgeous, well beyond our hopes and dreams. And it was delicious, too! Our guests couldn't tell that it was gluten-free; many of them said it was the best wedding cake they'd ever had. There wasn't a single piece left at the end of the night! If you're looking for a beautiful, delicious gluten-free wedding cake, work with The Happy Tart -- we cannot recommend them highly enough!

BEST GLUTEN FREE BAKERY!!!! Do not miss out on this amazing place!!! The pumpkin rolls are absolutely unbelievable. I went back day two and got more because I couldn’t stay away. The biscuits and gravy was the best I’ve ever had and my non gluten free friend agreed. The cinnamon twist was good and the crepe. Going back I’d order the pumpkin roll and biscuits and gravy over and over again. Nutella strudel also amazing. I’d had it at a cafe in the city and didn’t realize they bought from this place. WOW. Prices were reasonable. Employees were kind—the cashier offered to refrigerate my rolls while I ate my meal. There’s a sit down area inside, be aware it gets busy on the weekend and the line can be out the door. Can’t wait to be back on the East coast to go here again!! Thank you for serving the gluten free folks yummy treats!

Completely gluten-free cafe that has a solid selection of pastries, hot food, and drinks Both indoor and outdoor seating, but the space is a little on the run-down side I came here for breakfast with my GF and her sister. I can't believe this place has been open for as long as it has and I didn't know about it. It was a delightful experience to "play pretend" like everyone who doesn't have a wheat allergy. Gluten Sensies and Celiacs could choose from anything on the menu. Anyway, location and parking. When the GPS had told me I arrived, I thought I was at the wrong location. Do not expect typical signage you would see from a brick and mortar. When you park and walk along the street, pay attention to the clear doors and faint lettering to know that you're there. There is ample free parking in the Pearson street garage. When I walked in, the first thing that caught my eye was the huge pastry display. Their pastries are massive and competitively priced. They don't have any physical menus the rest of their offerings can be found on the wall behind the barista. Their hot item selection ranges from sandwiches to crepes to quiches to pot pies! I ordered the quiche lorraine, (a tart made with eggs, cream, and bacon) and the nutella strudel. I liked the idea of the strudel, but the pastry crust was just too sugary. I thought the quiche lorraine was perfect: buttery crust, warm from almost start to finish, and plenty of bacon. All in all, I think The Happy Tart is a nice place to visit. The shop wasn't too noisy, they have unique and delicious gluten free offerings, and free wifi. I know I have a plan to come here again in the future; I'm itching to try another quiche and some biscuits!

I cannot recommend this place enough. The most amazingly delicious ALL GLUTEN FREE bakery I've been too. My hubby who isn't GF loved the place to. They have everything from sweet to savory. They have cakes, pastries, quiches, omelettes, toasties, crepes as well as coffee and tea. They have some strong coffee I will say. I devoured pretty much everything instantly so I didn't get to take pics but we have the biscuits and gravy (to die for!), chicken pot pie, spinach and mushroom turnovers and the cinnamon twist. EVERYTHING was so delicious I couldn't pick a favorite. What I loved most was everything was nicely seasoned and it was bland like most gluten free place. It's a very cozy place with a few tables, bar stools and couches. The owners were so nice and attentive it added on to our amazing experience. I would recommend this place! They've got it all!

I consider myself fortunate that I do not have any food allergies, since it would be anxiety inducing to constantly read labels and inquire at establishments if the ingredients to a meal or dish contained any known allergens. I was recently attending a birthday party, and the invite had in bold capital letters: "This will be a GLUTEN FREE celebration! If bringing any food items, ensure that all items are prepared without any type of gluten." According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, approximately 2 million people (https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/digestive-diseases/celiac-disease/definition-facts#:~:text=Many%20people%20who%20have%20celiac,the%20world%20have%20celiac%20disease) in the US have been diagnosed with Celiac's Disease. Celiac disease is a digestive and autoimmune disorder that impacts the small intestine. The disease is triggered by eating foods containing gluten, which naturally are found in wheat, barley, and rye. Opened in 2015, I found the Happy Tart via Yelp, and what a find it was! Located in a small nondescript storefront with limited signage, there is street parking, or a nearby garage for longer visits. Once you walk in, the interior is has a warm and inviting feel with muted earth tone color schemes. There is also plentiful seating which many patrons were utilizing as they enjoyed their coffee and pastries. The outdoor patio will also re-open in the warmer months. Being a novice to the world of GF foods, I stood in line waiting to order and was very impressed with the wide variety of baked goods. Cookies, macrons, cakes, muffins, and of course, cupcakes. It was this last item which I thought was the "safest" choice. When I got the to the head of the line, I asked directly, "Everything in here is GF, right?" to which the friendly staff member replied, "Sir, there is absolutely no trace of any wheat gluten in the entire facility." There are also many savory items such as sandwiches, pizzas, and quiches. As a side note, check out the freezer off the side near the drink condiment station where you can purchase frozen items for reheating at home. I got a few different cupcakes, and quite the selection the Happy Tart sells. Red Velvet, chocolate, vanilla, lemon, etc. Take my advice and order the vanilla salted caramel and the German Chocolate cake flavors. Arriving at the park where the event was held, I received kudos for (1). I following directions and purchasing something GF and (2). Getting the items from the Happy Tart, since apparently this bakery is well known in the GF community. Can I tell you, the cupcakes were amazing! So moist and flavorful, and the the frosting was decadent. The entire box of cupcakes was a hit, but especially the birthday recipient. Are the prices a bit higher than what you would find in a "conventional" bakery? Yeah, but then again any type of wheat flour alternative is going to be more pricey since they aren't as common. Each cupcake was between $4.50-$6...which honestly is what you'd pay at so-called "specialty cupcake shops" Since 2021, I've been reducing my intake of wheat and grains, in general, as part of my wellness program. I'm not a dietician, nor should do my OPINIONS constitute medical advice. Choices to limit gluten were undertaken in conjunction with a desire to moderate intake of carbs, but at least in my case, I actually feel less "heavy" nowadays and managing weight has been more consistent. Do I still eat bread, cookies, croissants and other wheat products? Yes, because I don't want to be a hypocrite and declare otherwise. But it's nice to know that when the carb craving hits and I'm seeking a gluten free alternative, I can go to The Happy Tart.

More accurately, I'd say 3.5 stars, but I rounded up. I stopped in here last weekend with my husband and a friend who is celiac. Since I'm allergic to wheat, this was the perfect place for us. My friend loved her meal, which was the quiche and the potatoes (5). I loved my buckwheat pancakes with the hash browns bacon and eggs (5). Unfortunately, my husband didn't like the biscuits at all. The gravy was okay, not great. I had warned him that gluten free food won't taste the same, and I advised him against the biscuits because I knew they'd be dry. Somethings just aren't replicated into a gluten free menu very well. He insisted, but reported that I was right-they were dry. Beyond having a disgusting texture, he reported that they tasted really bad--like big buttery globs. Again, not a huge surprise to the rest of us gluten free folks. But suffice it to say he wasn't a fan. We tried a couple of their cupcakes. The gluten free bakeries I frequent in my hometown of Fargo, ND have mastered the art of the gluten free cupcake. So has pillsbury in a box from your grocery store of choice. The Happy Tart, however, has not. The cupcake was super dry with a mountain of frosting on top. There was nothing cutting the sweetness. Honestly thinking about it makes my stomach churn. It was not great. I'll stick to my store bought cupcake mixes thanks! At the end of the day, it depends on what you order! The inside was okay. Not a lot of seating and a very casual buss your own table atmosphere

Gluten free haven. I have not enjoyed and craved pastries in a while due to lack of quality, but one trip to Happy Tart had me finding any excuse to come back. The rightfully popular spot can get crowded on weekends, so you might have to wait for certain dishes or for a table, but your patience will be rewarded with mouth watering goodness! The staff is kind and helpful, with the added entertainment of getting to watch some staff bake in the kitchen while you sit in the dining room. You can tell the staff enjoy their jobs and are always ready with a recommendation. I do not have any experience pre-ordering for special occasions, but plan to in the future. Note that the bathrooms are managed by the building, not by The Happy Tart. However, in my experience if they are less than satisfactory the Happy Tart staff will hunt down the building staff to set the bathrooms straight.

A dedicated gluten free restaurant :) as a person with celiac disease, I feel totally safe and in love! Not only do they have pastries and little items to go, they also have full meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for you to sit down and enjoy. I got biscuits and gravy (photo attached) for lunch which was super flavorful and delicious. I also obviously got some pastries to go, and I LOVED their iced sugar cookies (I feel like those are hard to find as a GF person). The ambiance is super cute and cozy, and the service was great. I can't wait to frequent this place!

Dedicated gluten free kitchen with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options too! I've been here about four times now and really enjoy the food and the staff. Everyone is welcoming and helpful with any questions. One of my visits I had to take some pastries on a two hour trip. They ship some of their items so they were very helpful with what would keep best and packaged everything well. My favorites have been the cheesecake heart, eclair, and seasonal pumpkin macarons. My least favorite was their biscuits and gravy as it was not the traditional southern biscuits and gravy. The prices are high, but I don't think that is unique to this bakery, especially since they have a specialty. I have worked from home inside and I will say it gets quite noisy. Most of their outlets are at their bar area so there's no back on the chairs. While this isn't a top WFH spot for me, I do recommend it for social meetings- especially if someone has dietary restrictions.

Happy Tart is my post physical therapy treat. Great selection of pastries and savory treats. The coffee hits the spot. The decor is warm yet makes me feel energetic. The service is always friendly and knowledgeable.

Eating out should be a delight to a stressful day or make life easier. Having a gluten allergy makes it impossible at the best of times. Happy Tart is the answer! No worrying or asking for a gluten free menu or having cross contamination. Order with easy and peace of mind. Plus the food tastes amazing. Its flavor forward while still being gluten free.

I love that this shop is completely gluten-free. Their cupcakes are wonderful, and their chicken pot pie is amazing. However, I did not like their biscuits at all. They were bad enough that I threw them out. It tasted like they got the recipe wrong (maybe too much baking soda?). I'm not sure what was wrong, but don't order them. I was also disappointed with the scones.

I've been to the Happy Tart a few times now. The service has always been ok, they're usually lacking staff. And they've always been overpriced. Today might have been my worst experience there. The food took a very long time to come out, granted they did have a lot of customers. But nothing was situated. The tables were dirty, the silverware was out. But to top it off-- (both my sister and I added avocado to our orders) They gave us puréed avocado. Basically baby food. I had it on my salad and my sister had it in her omelet. My sister thought they forgot the avocado but then the lady said the avocado was cooked into the omelet... what!? Then I got my salad and there was my puréed side of avocado. Never in my life have I seen a restaurant serve puréed avocado/guacamole instead of actual avocado. If this is your standard then you should be telling customers this. That's equivalent to a customer adding banana and serving puréed banana. Baby food. This was unacceptable and had to be reviewed about.

I was very impressed with everything we ordered. We couldn't believe it was all gluten free! The Florentine Crepe was packed full of flavor, and the salted caramel cupcake was delicious. I would recommend this to anyone--but especially those who are GF.

What a fantastic bakery. Wonderful welcoming staff, delicious tarts, cookies and cheesecake. I will make this a regular stop when I'm in the area!

Ssooo I told myself I just was going to stop in for coffee.... But then, the cinnamon twist just came out of the oven and you could SMELL THEM!!! Think of if as if a biscuit and a scone got together and had a baby- it is EPIC!!!!!!! Whomever did the recipe for it is also a GENIUS because the level of salt and tenderness plus a gentle sweetness highlights the cinnamon in all its glory... totally fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!

Coffee here is so fresh, and the cupcakes are nicely moist and sweet. Photo-worthy ambiance and looks. I had to be in a little hurry because it closes quite early... if I need to hang around in the area in the morning, I am definitely visiting again!

Goto spot for gluten free goodies. They catered our wedding and did an amazing job. Was super pumped when they open a second location in Falls Church. Great to see them grow and flourish. Good vibes all around.

I had a decaffeinate hot coffee with one spinach pantry. Coffee was good and the pantry tested really delicious. It was savory outside but salted filling inside, creamy also buttery. One thing uncomfortable about was the AC. We felt very hot in the corner seat, so we changed to another one, but still felt pretty hot. We had to decide leave earlier. And, there were no napkins, seat pillow covers were dirty too Hope they can solve the problems quickly.

We have had a lot of gluten-free foods in our adventures, but nothing compares to Happy Tart. We loved that it is a dedicated gluten free bakery and can accommodate dairy free and vegan often. We would have been delighted with their variety of cupcakes and cookies, but they also now serve sit down meals, including amazing savory and sweet crepes, chicken pot pie, and more. Our personal favorites were anything with biscuits (I even took some home frozen and made them for dinner!) and their pecan tarts! The Nutella strudel was amazing, as were the cheesecakes, thr pancakes, and my personal favorites, the Calvados savory crepes filled with Turkey and Brie and apples. Also a decent freezer selection to take home. I'm sorry I missed their frozen pizzas, I bet the crust is AMAZING. Pics of as much of the food as I could get!!

Nope. Just nope. It makes me sad being there but also the pastry was dry, crumbly, tasteless and I tried to share it with my teen who refused a second bite. Aaaand it was completely covered in sugar. I do not at all recommend this place.

Ordered cookies on Wednesday, 12/20/23 for delivery and paid $30 for FEDEX delivery to arrive by According to an email from the Happy Tart on 12/28/23 the cookies may get there on 12/29/23, or 12/30/23 if I am lucky. Called to ask why and told that this is their normal cycle and woman told me I should have read the website better. Funny, checked website post call to the Happy Tart and no mention of Christmas delay. Silly me. Suggest you follow my lead and if you want timely delivery, order the excellent gluten free cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcake and your recipient won't be disappointed.

The best variety of gluten free treats I've ever seen. And they're really good. Their baked treats and their brunches are equally fantastic. I find the hours a little weird -- it seems like every time I have a spontaneous craving, they're closed. :( But they gotta do what they gotta do to run the business.

Happy tart was absolutely incredible! The employees were so kind, and oh my were the scones and apple turnover amazing. This made me be more okay with having to be gluten free knowing this place exists! Highly recommend:)

Amazing gluten free little gem! My daughter and I had delicious food- ham and cheese crepe and sausage and biscuits! Gluten free! And the baked goods! Wow. Nolan was wonderful and recognized that we "were having a moment!!" Adorable atmosphere! We will be back a lot!

came here as my SIL had Celiacs which means, finding a restaurant/place that would accommodate her dietary restrictions well. we came here not expecting much & ended up staying for lunch! I ordered a biscuits & gravy for myself. my daughter got a kids pancake. biscuits & gravy was a mushroom based & was super savory. very good, highly recommend! the biscuits were a little hard, but overall, delicious entree. my brother & SIL enjoyed their entrees, but their favorites were the cupcakes! my SIL was so excited to have a red velvet cupcake, but she said it was a little on the dry side unfortunately. this restaurant is pretty interesting as it's completely gluten free. it's also AC-free apparently. we were sweating so hard as there are only fans in this place. the fans could only do so much & when we were about to leave, more and more people had entered the restaurant. it felt even hotter after that. there were flies buzzing around our food while we ate & made it hard to concentrate as I felt like I was just swatting flies away constantly. I think this place would be even better if they had AC & less flies.

Just went here for the first time and WOW!! The Salted Caramel Petit Four, the Chocolate Ganache Cheesecake and the Tiramisu were all amazing!!

I'm glad that there is a GF alternative in the area, but feels like they have not been trying. The mushroom crepe was extremely salty, I couldn't eat this. Crepe wasn't bad but the salt soaked in the crepe. My husband got the strawberry crepe and some of the strawberries were brown.

Everything is gluten-free and soy free. However, the food quality and the price are at odds. I came with a celiac friend, and we drove all the way out here desperate for safe food. While the food was gluten-free, it was quite a disappointment. The ham and gruyere cheese crepe I ordered was bland and underseasoned. The Gruyere didn't even taste like Gruyere--it was more like a sad American Swiss cheese. The crepe was more in the style of an American pancake then a French crepe--it needed more milk and less flour. The gravy was overly salty and lacked sufficient sage. The biscuit used way too much gum. The biscuit tasted chewy rather than flaky. This texture was also noted in the English muffin. While these errors are completely understandable for novice cooks embracing gluten-free food, it is a bit surprising to see this level of basic gluten-free cookery priced at fancy café levels. Additionally there are now books and books about how to make gluten-free food elegant, flaky, and delicious. I would suggest trying Noglu in New York and adopting some of their cooking techniques. (The pastries were fine, but they were definitely more American in style than French. Simply put, most items were overly sweet and used frosting instead of more delicate glazes and toppings. I have to say I couldn't tell the qualitative difference between their cupcakes/cookies and the gluten-free items you can get at a grocery store.) We deeply appreciate your efforts to create a gluten-free restaurant, but we just wish the food tasted a little better. Our comments are only meant as constructive criticism. Your restaurant is a valuable gluten-free oasis.

As someone with Celiac's disease, I always appreciate finding dedicated gluten free restaurants. I've eaten at this place since they used to have two locations, and the expansion to offering savory and not just bakery goods has been great. Truly the best GF cupcakes I've ever had. Lunch is always a treat too. I've ordered ahead and eaten in the restaurant. All lovely.

This is perhaps my favorite Falls Church establishment. Breakfast here is sure to start your day on the right foot (gosh I'd love a buttery biscuit with their chicken sausage and eggs right this moment!) but the dessert will keep you coming back for more. I've never had a single thing I didn't love. The salted caramel cupcake changed my life. I would recommend anybody and everybody to visit -- even if you think gluten free can't be good. Because Happy Tart proves it can.

I got the vanilla cupcake and it was incredibly bland. The cake portion tasted like cardboard and had a weird sand-like texture and flavor. I couldn't taste any vanilla notes, butter, or sweetness for that matter. I am all for less sugar in my baked goods, but this was taking it way too far. Even a little salt would have brightened whatever little there was. The Swiss meringue buttercream frosting should have enhanced whatever was lacking in the cake but it was even worse. It was just a blob of stiff egg meringue with no flavor or sweetness whatsoever. $4 for emptiness, flatness, and just boring. Go to Pastry Expo instead for much better tasting sweets. Their cupcakes are $5.25 each but worth that extra if you're looking to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Lovely experience at The Happy Tart! I met a friend there and the food was fabulous! I had the salmon omelette which was perfectly cooked. I also brought some cupcakes home for a friend and they were so light and delicious (and I don't even love sweets).

Definitely on the expensive end of gluten free but delicious nonetheless. We ordered crepes and a handful of sweets and everything was very good.

My first visit to The Happy Tart was Amazing! Friendly staff from the moment we walked in the door, clean tables, quick service and the food was so awesome Special today was pumpkin pancakes .... soft & flavorful and everything is GLUTEN FREE The coconut crusted French toast comes with bacon; was a generous portion , flavorful brunch item and desert all in one! My boyfriend ordered a ham & cheese crepe with side of home fries/ hash browns & small side salad. He ate every bite... great flavors and generous portion of ham included. Back room for cake decorating & a great coffee bar..... family and kid friendly . I will be back

one word: WOW. this place is gluten free heaven. my mom got a brunch platter and i got the crab cake sandwich. everything was BEYOND our expectations. we also got 4 cupcakes (holy cow amazing) and the lemon sugar cookie. i have not had a sugar cookie that compares to gluten-full ones since going gluten free 3 years ago. this sugar cookie tastes JUST like gluten full sugar cookies. beyond happy and will return (as much as i can!!)

I've only had the baked goods. They are delicious and everything in the shop is gluten-free! They had really fun Halloween themed items (eyeball cake pops). I purchased a bunch of cupcakes for a party and everyone loved them. My only concern is that it was VERY expensive. Expect to pay three-to-four times as much for items as you would any other shop. The atmosphere is cute and clean. Parking is readily available on the street. I hope to return soon to try some of the other items.

Imagine having celiac and being able to eat everything in the restaurant. Gluten free heaven. Crepes, pot pies, amazing delicious desserts. You can eat in or pick up. The staff is amazing and the food is delicious. Definitely worth the drive.

Great breakfast, and cupcakes! I like this place a lot. It is a great cafe, where you order the food at the counter and they bro g it too you. All of their baked items are gluten free, but you will not miss that at all. We had eggs with sausage add avocados and the build your own omelette. It was nice touch to have fresh fruit on the side. My latte was also wonderful. Nothing better in my opinion then breakfast with a latte. I also bought some cupcakes to take home. I got the almond raspberry cupcake, which was made with almond flour. I also got red velvet, German chocolate, lemon, and salted caramel, which were made with brown rice flour. They were all moist and delicious! Really like this place!

I love knowing I can count on The Happy Tart to make safe and delicious celiac friendly goodies. The pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving was amazing. My family didn't even know it was gluten free and loved it. The opera cake and raspberry almond cupcake are really good. Once, my raspberry cupcake was dry but the few other times I ordered it, I haven't had that experience. The strawberry coconut French toast is extremely sweet and more like a dessert than a breakfast. It's large enough and sweet enough for two or three folks. It's cooked nicely but I felt like I was eating a plate full of sugar. I wouldn't order this again. The staff is great and always pleasant.

When traveling with someone who has celiac, it is always a crapshoot whether you can find gluten-free restaurant options. The happy tart really lived up to our expectation for breakfast on the go before we went museum hopping in DC! I gave it a full five stars because our savory crepes left us quite satisfied, but if you like strong cold brew coffee i'd advise to not order it here. Otherwise, the crepes and baked goods exceeded expectations!!! We hope to come back someday :)

10 stars! for anyone with celiac or gluten sensitivity, this place is a godsend. and if you don't have issues with gluten, try it anyway, because you probably won't be able to tell the difference. unlike so many gluten free establishments, they go beyond just baked sweets, and they also have a nice selection of sweet and savory crepes, pre-baked meals, and a very respectable espresso bar.

I really enjoy the coconut French toast! God I have dreams about it still! Food was presented so well. The fresh strawberry's and the flavor, to die for. This is definitely the spot for a sweet treat. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Mushroom quiche was amazing! It was steaming hot, satisfyingly thick and creamy, and nicely soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. My date loved the Coconut French toast, but I'm just not a big of coconut, so it was so-so for me. We enjoyed our Chai lattes (with oat milk) a lot--the latte was absolutely delicious, thick and smooth, with a delightful chai kick to it.

Omg I am so happy (ha no pun intended) that there is an entirely gluten free bakery/cafe... the chicken pot pie is UNREAL- flaky, buttery crust wow. I've also tried the ham & egg crepe and holy moly it was huge and so good. I can't wait to try the coconut French toast and more goodies. The eclair was also amazing because hello chocolate and cream goodness!! Keep doing your thing but maybe consider adding breakfast & lunch sandwiches??

The first few times my daughter and I visited the Happy Tart we really enjoyed it. We aren't gluten free but loved the cupcakes and crepes. We decided to meet friends there today- their first time- and we had a pretty rotten experience, unfortunately. I understand that the day before Thanksgiving is hectic for bakeries and many people were picking up their holiday orders. That said, there is a way to be kind and welcoming to customers while you are in the midst of high demand rather than meet them with I can only describe as contempt. I believe it was an owner or perhaps manager who took our order- he rolled his eyes when I asked about their teas and all but barked at me when I asked if they had whipped cream for their hot chocolate for my 11 year old and her friend, saying he was way too busy to have whipped cream available. It just felt mean, there is no other way to describe the energy and experience. We won't be back and neither will the friends we brought. I hope the employee who served us realizes that front of the house service may not be his calling. I worked in the restaurant industry for years and it's definitely not for everyone. You just never know what someone else might be going through and that goes both ways. But only one of us was unkind.
