There’s Much to Savor in Minneapolis’ Picturesque Linden Hills Neighborhood

"A popular stop for families in the area, Zumbro Cafe serves comfort food for breakfast and lunch daily. Order the buttery-sauced Benedict and a cappucino to wrap your cold hands around." - Joy Summers

On the Grid : Harriet Brasserie

"This neighborhood bar and restaurant is one of those places that's on everyone's every list. Brunch? Dinner? Drinks? It’s a winner in all categories. Our favorite is for dinner because the gnocchi is a mouth watering reason to get to this low key hang out at least every few weeks just to make sure we still love it. And we’re proven right every time - never met a dish we haven’t gone speechless for. Love that it’s calm and easy to lose track of time while you visit." - Whitney Hermes

First time coming to Harriet Brasserie, and the food was good. This seems like a frequent place where the Linden Hills residents frequent. I ordered the banana pancakes and they were quite delicious. Portion size was small for the price, but i think that it may be organic ingredients but not too sure. My wife ordered the tofu hash, which she said was ok. The service was excellent, and my coffee never went empty. One thing to not the entrance is in the front of the building, which can be confusing because of the Tea2 Architecture office. If you go to the outdoor seating in alleyway, you are not in the right place to be seated. They do get busy, so I would recommend reservations. Overall, I would recommend coming here and giving them a try.

The Harriet Brasserie is a hidden gem. Located in the quaint Linden Hills neighborhood, this restaurant is a perfect place to meet friends for brunch, or go just for a glass of wine. The brunch menu is small, unassuming, but with enough variety that anyone should be able to find something suitable. We particularly enjoyed the daily omelet, and we will be back again very soon!

Google
One of the best hidden gems in the metro! Excellent food, charming atmosphere, great service and the owners treat you like family. Enjoyed the duck special, salmon (prepared perfectly), don't miss the duck tacos! Everything on the menu is delicious.

Nostalgic posting (used to eat here as a school kid) Amazing Location for the Store: I love to visit the bookstore right after I'm done eating and go exploring inside their ever-changing interior. Menu size is only a page front and back, but because of that middle-small menu. The chefs can really hone their craft and make some delicious plates of food. (I only go there for brunch) My favorite thing to order at the restaurant is their Duck Taco. I always order two/three and the tres leches cake. But be warned, the leches cake is a 50/50 on quality. I always order the Soup, I've only had one "unlikable" soup. Usually, the soup is extremely well-made and tasty. If I don't order a tres-leches, I would get some pancakes. Good: Tasty! Fun watching the chefs cook. Good western soup. Nothing that bad on the menu. Bad: The 50/50 Tres Leches Cake. Good or Evil. Drinks are "ok" Where you can sit. Usually, it ended up at a good spot or the bar. Overall: I love the interior and surrounding neighborhood. Food is delicious, and desserts are evil or good. 9.2/10 (+0.2 for nostalgia)

We stopped at The Harriet Brasserie after taking a stroll around the lake in this lovely neighborhood. It's a fantastic restaurant with amazing food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I love that it's located in a historic fire station. The live music on the patio just added to its charm.

Had our first visit in Sunday for brunch. They noticed our table was sunny and moved us so that we didn’t have to fight with the sun. We had a guest that arrived late so we were waiting to order until she arrived. Waitress got us drinks right away and came back when the last guest arrived. The waitress was slow in taking our order once the last person arrived, we had to keep asking for more water, had to flag someone down to finally order dessert and more water. Never asked if we wanted another drink. And there was only a couple other tables with guests. Food was super good - had the burger with fries and their fries are amazing and I’m not usually a French fry person. Did their chocolate cake and tres lech cake for dessert. Both were good, but their tres leche wasn’t the best I’ve had. Space is really nice, would definitely go back…hopefully service is better the next time. Oh, last thing - $2 for tartar sauce seems a little steep.

Google
Loud. I was almost shouting at one point to talk to my friend across the table. Food is good and ambiance is nice. Plating is pretty. Price is on the higher end. The firehouse vibe is cool. Interior design is classy. Parking is impossible to find. If not for the specials, I probably would not come back. Everything else on the menu is the standard run of the mill type items.

Yelp
There is something to be said about this charming establishment. Our group sat outside on the left patio while live music played. To me, it did not feel like we were in the city, but more like we were in a rustic country tavern in a small town. To start, we shared a bunch of appetizers, which included: Chicken Taco, Brussels Sprouts, French Fries, and Gnoochi. We enjoyed everything. The portions were great for our group. I had the Norwegian Salmon and thought it was just right and over done plus the size was perfect because after sharing all those appetizers, I was not sure if I had enough room for a large entree plus I enjoyed the cute ginger beer. My favorite was dessert. We shared the chocolate cake and the Coconut Tres Leches. All in all, it was a fun dining experience.

Yelp
My daughter and I enjoyed a brunch table for two before a matinee theater performance last weekend. I've always loved this tucked away neighborhood treasure (next to one of my favorite local bookstores). It's a small dining room but it just feels special when you step inside. The staff is friendly, the bar and kitchen are always quietly humming, and the inside feels quaint with European vibes. We loved the live music from the string musician in the corner! I had the tofu hash, and my daughter had a classic breakfast with hashbrowns, eggs, and bacon. It's all the extra touches that make it fun. My peach Bellini was a step up from a regular mimosa. The orange marmalade served with the toast on my daughter's breakfast was Outstanding! And I enjoyed the combination of the flavors in the hash and the side greens. But maybe the best of all was dessert of coconut tres leches. I adore this place for a meal or a coffee and treat...and the patio tables in the summer are great, too.

Yelp
Friendly neighborhood restaurant with amazing food and great wine selection and knowledge! We ate Red Lentil Soup with coconut cream and curry and topped with crispy carrots, Mushroom Scallops with delicious sauce, shrimp, Steak Frites cooked to perfection, Norwegian Salmon that is butchered and prepared in house and with an amazing finish Coconut Tres Leches Cake to die for! Definitely coming back for more!!!

Yelp
Went to this cute little restaurant for Mother's Day breakfast! We parked along the street and sat outside in the alley way underneath hanging lights and cover. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and iced vanilla latte. The Benedict had sooo many flavors and was so good! The only thing I wish it had was that it would have come with a side of potatoes or something in addition to the Benedict. For $20 it just wasn't filling enough for me personally. The iced vanilla latte also was lacking vanilla flavoring so I kindly asked for more and when it was returned it still tasted the same haha! Overall our service was great and our waitress was very kind/attentive. I recommend this spot for couples going out for a light bite or a place for friends to meet up.

Yelp
Finally made it to brunch one weekend while walking the pup and managed to snag the last, baked-daily, scone! Their dinner menu looks good but is a bit out of my price range. Brunch was much more in my wheelhouse. The service was excellent and it looks like they've got some regulars that come to the same patio table every weekend since they knew their orders and names. Speaking of, the patio is dog friendly but tiny. You definitely want to get there early and if you've got more than 1-2 folks expect to wait a while. The espresso was good and hit the spot on a gorgeous morning. I hadn't had a french omelet in forever so went with that. Textures were good, but I think it was relatively under-seasoned. Could have used some more salt, a sharper cheese, and/or more caramelization on the onions. The scones are baked each morning and there's only one batch, so they usually sell out in the first hour or so. It was a southern cake-y style scone and the jam was excellent. It paired perfectly with the espresso and is definitely worth the price. I'm looking forward to coming back to give some of the other items a shot.

Yelp
One of my favorite Minneapolis restaurants. Small, but busting with charm, character, and a quality experience in the beautiful London shills neighborhood. It sits inside a former fire station, located just blocks from a quaint boutique downtown and the Lake Harriet Park and bandshell. It's a tucked away treasure. One big drawback: lack of parking is a problem. Plan to walk 3+ blocks from street parking...which is a serious issue for groups with people of low mobility/disability. If you can visit this restaurant/cafe, do it! And share it with friends and family for a memorable, unique dining memory.

Yelp
Had dinner here last night. The restaurant is very cute and small as was the outdoor spot where we sat. Our waiter was great. Our dinner was pretty average. We discussed afterwards if we would go back again for what we had, and both of us said no. The menu is very limited. The other odd thing is that it closed at 8pm. That feels early for a restaurant in this area on a Friday night.
google avatar

Eliana S.

Yelp
This spot has become one of our go-tos because of the ambiance and amazing food. The patio is a great place for people watching and there was even live music! Delicious French-inspired food and the menu is not too overwhelming with options.

Yelp
Good food, nice ambiance! The patio was very quaint and the food was fresh and flavorful.

Yelp
Cute little restaurant; more like an elevated coffee shop vibe. Eclectic menu with a but if everything... duck confit taco w/ salsa diábolo, pipián, picked veg and cotija cheese..., entrees are a all over the place. The special is a braised lamb shank but there's also steak frites and oddly a turkey sandwich taco was too sweet and my sandwich was just a good sandwich. It's a solid local restaurant but not a place a tourist should flock too

Yelp
Was looking for some place for lunch on a cozy winter Friday and settled on Harriet Brasserie in Linden Hills. The building is an old fire station (I think) and exudes a great warm welcome with classic high ceilings and exposed brick. They don't offer a separate lunch menu, instead they have an all-purpose "brunch" menu with everything from traditional breakfast items to soups, sandwiches and even a duck taco. I opted for the Wild Acres Turkey Sandwich with bacon and roasted red pepper aioli (yummy) while my friend enjoyed one of the house specialties, the crab Benedict (succulent crab cake poached egg and hollandaise sauce-really good). Inside is bigger than it first appears and it wasn't hard getting a table at lunch. The real challenge is parking. I circled ever further around the maze of streets for 15 minutes before finally finding something several blocks away in a neighborhood. If possible, visit without a car! Solid service too. Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Took 10 minutes to get a glass of water and 30 minnutes before waiter came to my table. Big heavyset guy, I think his name was Brad. This is a very popular place but they were not even that busy. I can't come back here because I will starve to death before I get my food. Just wanted a relaxing brunch.

Yelp
A Florida tourist group in Edina ... and we bump into Harriet (not really, a Brazilian friend had recommended it).. we had to give it a try! We loved the layout and location, with both an indoor and outdoor area, deco very cozy and clean. We immediately spotted some interesting Brazilian menu itens, like the Bauru and the Brigadeiro Chocolate Cake. Our waiter welcomed us with a complimentary sparking wine (nice!), and among other drinks we ordered the Wals Belo Ipê beer (11% alcohol by volume!), full body and crisp, very good... but enjoy with moderation. We started with the Mussels (tomato, cilantro, scallion, ginger, sambal, white wine, butter. Served with bread), which were excellent. Dishes ordered: the Lobster and Pork Belly, Steak Frites, Steak au Poivre, Pork Tenderloin and an extra side of Brussel Sprouts. They all were very good, although the Steaks were a bit on the tough side. Service was excellent and prices are fair. Recommended!

Yelp
Alright y'all...if you are ordering take out a lot these days please consider getting a little something something from here because I've tried many of their dishes and you can tell how much effort they put in with every scrumptious bite. First off, this is a prime location for fun stuff. One of my favorite childhood bookstores is next door and the neighborhood has a bunch of cutesy shops to draw your attention and steal money from your wallet. That being said, parking can be a little cringey during peak hours but definitely spots on the street if you are good with the parallel. The interior is cozy but has amazing high ceilings that make it feel elegant, like a little European bistro. All of the staff are superbly lovely...super helpful and very respectful. Wine list is one of the best I've seen in the Twin Cities tbh. Not overcrowded but has a select number of gems. I just about died drinking their Barbera. Go to menu items: ropa vieja for bfast will fulfill your savory dreams, duck taco with its FIRE flavor pairings, green salad if you are trying to feel like a refreshed bougie babe on a warm day. They also have a bunch of vegan options to try which I def will add to the list. Great spot, definitely a must in the Linden Hills area! Come through!

Yelp
We had the best brunch here. Sat outside. Lunch menu was limited due to Covid but still had lots of great options. Mussels were terrific. Great spot.
google avatar

Yelp
I had the best brunch meal of my life here. And I only had 1 mimosa so this isn't the alcohol talking. The lamb hash is delicious, every ingredient is infused in perfect harmony. I also ordered toast and the waiter brought me out homemade peach jam to go with it and OMG, on point. I would come here again and again, the service was just as good as the food.
google avatar

Alicia M.

Yelp
Enjoyed their delicious risotto & a Montepulciano red in their outdoor space. The outdoor space has a very European feel to it - Paris or Rome came to mind. Service was excellent and they were great about social distancing the tables had at least 6 ft in between. Looking forward to going back to enjoy the steak frites!

Yelp
I FOUND LILY!!! Best server/ bartender on this planet!!! She used to work at ...., can't say the place- horrible treatment of staff. Now that I know that..., Anyway, she's here at Harriet's . The ONLY server I ever gave a 100% tip too!! I found Lily very happy!! Again the 5 Stars is because she's excellent !

Yelp
Came for dinner - it was delicious! Tried the duck taco - great flavors. Absolutely loved the bison tartare! Would love to have it again. For dinner, we went with the pork and lobster. The lobster is shelled and cooked beautifully. The pork cut so wonderfully and melted in your mouth. We decided that we couldn't leave without dessert. I'm not a huge fan of coconut so the tres leches cake didn't seem too appealing (although it's gotten great reviews!), we went with the banana cream pie. It came with walnut ice cream. It was a nice presentation but nothing out of the ordinary. They have a small patio outside that is usually packed in the summers but there was enough seating inside. This place is a little pricey so be prepared. The food is local and your server will let you know if they're running low on a certain item or if it's not available. They have some popular dishes that run out pretty quick.

Yelp
Cute little Linden Hills find with a delicious brunch! For me, brunch always becomes an internal debate of whether I am in the mood for sweet or savory. I almost always end up ordering both. Today I tried the Quiche Lorraine and the pancakes. The quiche was French style: exceptionally light and creamy, with loads of butter flavor in the crust and a hint of smokiness throughout from the bacon. My only biff was that it seemed like all of the bacon and onions sunk to the bottom of the quiche instead of being evenly distributed throughout. The pancakes came piping hot, smothered in crème fraîche and full of slices of banana and chocolate chips. There was again a strong butter flavor which made the pancakes perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We added some pure maple syrup and finished the cakes in about 3.2 seconds. Absolutely delicious. The latte was also delicious, but I don't believe the orange juice was fresh squeezed. A small thing, but fresh squeezed is always my favorite with a big breakfast. Overall, a great first experience. We will definitely be back, especially when the weather permits a stroll through such a cute neighborhood.

Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere and quiet. Great little lunch spot. Their vegan options are amazing according to my friend I was with. I've been here a few times however and have never really loved the food. It's not awful, just not anything to gush about. The menu is kind of all over the place. Their dessert and wine menu on the other hand are amazing and if anything I'd highly recommend this place for wine and dessert with your girlfriends!

Yelp
Read some reviews on here and decided to try it out for brunch. We were fairly disappointed with our meal there for the following reasons: - We were told that they didn't have any more hollandaise sauce. I know we were there towards the end of the brunch, but I'm sorry, when you have like 3 items on the already smallish menu that come with hollandaise sauce, you should have it till the end...or make some. It's easy to make and is basically butter, lemon and eggs. I really wanted a Benedict, so disappointed with that, but not a deal breaker. - Ordered a bowl of the soup. At $10 for a bowl, which I think is pushing it on the price. That's a lot for a bowl of soup. Had to send it back, though, because I didn't care for it. First of all, it was cold, which I was not aware, and I can eat some cold soups, but not a cream-based one. And it was really rather flavorless. - One of our party ordered pancakes. They were like $12, and that's all they were...pancakes on a plate, not particularly large, with whip cream on top. Nothing else. I tried them and...meh. Nothing special. Our table also had the duck tacos and a side salad, both of which were good. Our server was fine. We would probably try it one more time, but not for brunch. It just wasn't that great.

Yelp
I came here for brunch with a friend. They had many gluten-free options for her and several vegetarian/vegan options as well. I had a crab cake Benedict which was phenomenal and she had the crawfish grits. I loved that the Benedict came as a single rather than a pair, however I wish I had also tried to French toast because I was still a bit hungry. The coffee was yummy, location beautiful (right by Lake Harriet) and it was lovely to sit on the porch on a late, summer morning! I don't live in Minnesota, but I'd come back here for another meal the next time I'm in town without hesitation.

Robin S.

Yelp
Food was ok... fish & chips was nothing to write home about - 3 small bite size pieces in which you had to pay extra for tartar sauce. Wow!!! House salad was pathetic and dry. Service was very good though.

Rachel J.

Yelp
Delicious duck taco. I only ordered one & it was enough for a light lunch. We sat outside in the alley, which was decorated with string lights, paintings & flowers. Waitress was very friendly & fun to talk to. Can't wait to try their brunch!

Yelp
This is probably my favorite restaurant in Minneapolis. My husband and I love the atmosphere. Very cozy and intimate. Always has exceptional service. The food is unique, flavorful and absolutely delicious; we have never gotten something we didn't adore. It is a smaller neighborhood restaurant and perfect for a date night or small get together. It has a lovely patio and is walking distance from Lake Harriet.
google avatar

Yelp
I love little restaurants that make you feel like you're casually eating at your neighbor's house and that's exactly what this place is. Tiny, homey, and cute atmosphere. We came for brunch but I'd love to come back and try dinner because the cuisine was so amazing. We ordered the Ropa Vieja and the crab cake benedict. The Ropa Vieja has so much flavor packed into the meat and veggies I ate every last bite of the smoked beef. I could have done with a little less rice but overall this was delicious. The Crab Cake Benedict was one of the best I've ever had. There was so much real crab meat served on what seemed to be a homemade english muffin. The hollandaise sauce was just the right amount of lemon undertones, and the avocado and chile sauces on the side gave you options for extra flavor.

Yelp
The Harriet Brasserie is our favorite restaurant and the only place we will dine during COVID. The ventilation, high ceilings, and seating arrangements provide a sense of comfort snd safety. Excellent food, excellent service, and excellent atmosphere! We drive an hour to dine here.
google avatar

Susie A.

Yelp
Loved the old firehouse building and atmosphere. Great service and beautiful food in perfect portions. I ordered the tostadas for brunch which was crispy and flavorful. It was also bigger than the lamb hash, which I was told by two members of my party was also yummy. Husbo had the scones and gravy and asked for the salt shaker. Better to add your own than come away thirstier than a dog in the desert... After a little sprinkle he was also enjoying his meal. 4/4 makes me a fan!
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
What a wonderful place, so great we dined here twice in a 72 hour stay in the area. Service is excellent, food choices rotate with the farm to table options, and excellent wine choices. If you're in this are of Minneapolis, be sure to put it on your list.
google avatar

Yelp
I want to start out by saying I this place is special, not just because of the food or the ambiance - all of which is FANTASTIC, I assure you - but because it is owned and run by a small family, and they work very hard and manage to always be so friendly, kind and fun! If the famous regulars I've met here aren't a testament to that, well, here's some more... You don't get to experience a place like this every day, and to those who have left half-hearted or not satisfied reviews, I recommend going again, with an open heart, because that is all you will ever be greeted with here. This is an upscale place, with delicious recipes (I've never had better muscles in my life!) and a wine list to write home about - this coming from someone who lived in wine-country, CA, for over 13 years and my bestie is a sommelier! Unfortunately, I've learned Minnesotans have an underdeveloped palate for wine, which is why this is THE BEST PLACE to go get one. But only if you're ready to leave the snickerdoodles tasters at home and bring your more mature taste-buds... this is NOT for the sweet-wine-only drinkers. It's for real wine drinkers, or those who want to learn. I'm going to leave it at this, for now, but I'll be back with more, and for more at the Harriet Brassiere!

Yelp
I was at the Linden Hills Farmers Market today with a friend and we ran into this cute little spot! The menu looked good so we decided to go for it. What a great find! Excellent service and ambience. The food was delicious! They server said they try to locally source their food as much as possible. I ordered ropa vieja and my friend ordered the tostadas. Amazeballs. I will be back soon!

Yelp
Had brunch here on a Sunday--great food and great service. The patio is small and quaint but still cute and dog friendly none the less. I had the eggs Benedict that had a crab cake--holy moly was it good! Crab cake was meaty and not too much breading. We also share a bowl of their chilled crab bisque that was delicious and refreshing on a hot summer day. The mimosas were great too! So many more things I want to try--will definitely have to go back again!

Kristin S.

Yelp
One of my favorites. Beautiful space in an old fire house. Beautiful light fantastic porch. Love their brunch. Everything on their menu is fantastic. Great wines. One of the places I always take visitors because it's so relaxing and easy to talk and the food is always a winner

Yelp
A late brunch on a Wednesday found it not crowded. Great intimate setting. Tables for 2 or 4 with nice wooden chairs, linen napkins. The coffee is good - care taken with the brewing & bean choice. It has a smooth light flavor, no citrus acidity, not bitter, and served at the right temperature. The soup of the day was butternut squash - delicious! I only had a couple spoonfuls because my wife would not let me have any more! The Crawfish & Grits was wonderful - a blend of flavors with the right spice to pleasantly stay with you for a bit. Soft-poached egg over the top of grits & crawfish and sauce & avocado. Simply wonderful. Must remember to come back here when in Linden Hills area of Minneapolis - or better - come to Linden Hills because of this restaurant!

Yelp
Here are my thoughts on Harriet brasserie: -the burger was amazing. I asked for it well done and Marcus and Diego nailllled it. -the fries are out of this world. I could eat good French fries by the pound and these fries would be the death of me if I lived nearby. -the porcelain rooster is a nice touch. I'm convinced that if you guess its name they'll give you fifty percent off. -there's a screaming kid here but it doesn't matter. That's what kids do. Harriet left me dazed and dreaming of more French fries.

Yelp
Harriet Brasserie is a delightful surprise. Everything we ordered, from the duck taco and charcuterie & cheese plate appetizers to the steak au poivre and lobster & pork belly entrees to the desserts and drinks, tasted exquisitely delicious and were all presented beautifully, served with such timeliness as well as professionalism from the servers. The food is gourmet, the service is superb, and little details such as the high quality of the tableware made us feel extremely special and happy. Harriet Brasserie is high-end dining at its best!

Yelp
My daughter and I drifted over to the Harriet Brasserie [HB] the other night after deciding a potential 45+ minute wait at Tilia didn't work for us. We were seated immediately at what turned out to be the last available table. It was a very enjoyable evening. This was my first time in this space since it transitioned from Cafe Twenty-Eight. The new ownership has retained much the same cozy look and feel with seemingly few modifications. Overall it's clean, inviting, uncluttered, attractively lit and comfortably arranged. Our server Paul was a consummate pro, gracious, attentive and informative without being intrusive or pedantic. He displayed a thorough knowledge of the menu and offered welcomed input on various items we were considering. I started with an order of the PEI mussels which were outstanding. Fresh, tender and served with several slices of crostini to soak up the savory broth. Next time I won't let them whisk the bowl away until every drop has been consumed. I'm reasonably sure they would happily provide a few extra slices of toasted bread if asked. My daughter ordered a Wheatberry salad with an apple cider based dressing and I had the Duck Comfit Carbonara. The salad was delicious and well prepared. The pasta dish was dense, rich and deeply flavorful. Perfect for a cold autumn evening. It was so filling that I ended up taking half of it home. We shared a side of perfectly prepared, caramelized Brussels sprouts. We also shared a bright, pumpkin pie tart with a ginger snap garnish for dessert. All-in-all I found this to be a top drawer neighborhood bistro.

Yelp
Harriet Brasserie for brunch? Totes! Friends and I ended up at Harriet Brasserie for brunch because Tilia (next door) was booked silly, and we were hungry. A yummy surprise awaited us in a very pretty setting. Scones, Crab Benedict, Ropa Vieja, Crawfish and Grits, Bauru, and Nutella Mocha; all very good and not commonly found anywhere else in the city. Delicious? Filling and not button popping? Unique brunchin'? Family and Adult friendly? Small but super cute patio? "Yes!" all around! One day I might actually try the lunch or dinner menu, but I'm very satisfied with the brunch.

Yelp
I'm kind of a breakfast junkie. I find something I like and quickly become obsessed. Lately that something is breakfast, specifically with poached or dippy eggs, and especially eggs benedicts. I've been wanting to try this beautiful benedict since seeing it on yelp so today I finally made it over there. The place is small. Service was polite and friendly and fast. I asked if I could get my hollandaise on the side and she said no, that the chef refuses. Ok. But she told me it's light and there's not a lot. Ok. When it came out there was a lot of sauce but ok, I just kinda took some off with my fork. I like the sauce but I don't like so much of it. The egg was perfectly poached, the crab cake was good, and it sat on a little cornmeal pancake or something, which was also good. But it was small. You only get one, for $13. It's good, but kind of expensive for what you get, and it's not "OUT OF THIS WORLD TO DIE FOR" good or anything. It's just good. Overall I am glad I went but I don't really think I will be back unless I happen to be in the area. It's kind of out of the way for me so I wouldn't make a special trip again.

Yelp
Easily the best takeout we have had all of quarantine! I was so pleased to find multiple vegan options and the chickpea ragout was phenomenal! Everything arrived hot and faster than expected. Can't wait to get back into the restaurant but reminded me why it's one of our favorites.

Yelp
Quaint little place with much history. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and it came out smaller than I expected for $13 but nonetheless it was delicious. The avocado sauce was a bit overpowering with a strong acidic taste, so I much preferred the red sauce on the dish. My boyfriend order the crawfish and grits and he ran into the same problem, great taste overall but had a strong acidic taste in the dish that was a bit overpowering in certain aspects. He and I both expected a strong "Southern" spice for the dish, so we were a bit disappointed but then we reminded ourselves that this is the Midwest, so we shook it off like Ms. T-swift. Overall verdict, decently great brunch for a Midwesterner but what lacked in portion size made up for amble amount of variety in dishes. I would come again if I wanted different options for brunch.

Yelp
My first in Minneapolis and this resto is amazing. All foods are great and you will get 100% satisfaction. Great Food Harriet! Will definitely go back and recommend your place!

Yelp
Beautiful views and ambiance but food was just ok. The recommended Wisconsin Fish Fry lacked flavor and was highly overrated by the staff.

Yelp
I have a lot of friends in Linden Hills area and I have walked by this place so many times but never gone in! I was definitely missing out! This cozy restaurant and bar are tucked into an old firehouse and it has really neat details and feels like a Scottish pub a little bit (probably added to the feeling with a big storm passing over while we were there). I had the risotto with bay clams and chorizo and it was heavy and rich but soooooo delicious. I hope that is a mainstay on the menu because it's only been a week but I already want to put it in my tummy again! My companions ordered salads, which both looked delicious and were generous portions, and the cheese plate had a nice mix of items and came with several thick slices of toasted bread that was very tasty. They had a hard cider option and a variety of wine and beer options. It was pretty quiet on a Monday night (and great to have a place that is open on Mondays).

Yelp
All I have to say is HELL YES. This place is such a great addition to an already hip and fun neighborhood. The menu is incredible, they have a nice (and growing) selection of beer and wine from all over the world as well as some local varieties. We got to meet the head chef / owner as well having a nice chat with some of the bar staff - they are all so nice, and really love this restaurant and love what they do. You can feel and see their enthusiasm in everything from the decor to the style to the menu to the vibe. This place looks great for a casual few drinks, or some cocktails or some light bites to full on dining, all out gorging. :o) You should check this place out! It's one of our new favorites!!

Yelp
LOVE this restaurant! One of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities. It definitely flies under the radar (which is a good thing for me so I never have a hard time getting a reservation). The restaurant is in an old firehouse and the decor is perfect - you almost feel like you're in a European restaurant. The food is delicious. It's French cuisine with an American twist. I suggest sharing at your table so you can try different things! I've eaten here for brunch and dinner multiple times and it did not disappoint. The service is great. Definitely recommend going here!!

Yelp
This place was delicious! We were initially at Tilias but there were no brunch or light midday options, so, we can here and it did not disappoint. The restaurant carries a nice ambiance, as it is well appointed and feels larger than it is. The patio was a definite bonus on this nice summer day, with umbrellas for sun. The food - we shared a shredded beef, rice, yucca, carrot, poached egg for brunch (brunch every day=one star bonus) and banana pancakes (yum)! One word - succulent. Eat. Here. Kyle
