"Harry Potter fans know: the best way to get to Hogwarts is aboard the Hogwarts Express, which dutifully awaits students of the prestigious wizarding school at Platform 9 3/4 at the start of each term. Reaching the platform, of course, is an adventure in itself; magical blood and nerves of steel are required in order to pass through what appears to be a solid brick barrier to where the platform is located on the other side. Details of Platform 9 3/4 were made public by the 1997 publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the debut novel of J. K. Rowling’s phenomenally popular Harry Potter series. Kings Cross station reappeared several times throughout the series, serving as the setting for some of the most pivotal moments, and the station was later used as a shooting location in the Harry Potter films. For several years now, Kings Cross has celebrated its role in the beloved books with a marker indicating the location of Platform 9 3/4, below which a baggage trolly can be seen disappearing into the bewitched barrier. Construction on Kings Cross Station between 2005 and 2012, however, made the magical platform even more elusive than usual, shuffling the marker and accompanying trolly to various locations around the station several times, at one point relegating it to an alcove outside. In 2012 it was announced that the attraction had finally found a permanent home in the New Western Departures Concourse, nestled between Platforms 9 and 10, right where you would expect it. Lovely little shop with great stuff for all the Potter fans out there! Super environment with HP collectibles for Potter fans from wands, robes, chains, moving daily prophet snippets and many more with HP music running in the background. The staff was cheerfully helpful and was always available to any question. I even got the guy at the wand store to pretend duel with me! Haha! Oh and since its at King's Cross where Harry and the others actually go through the wall at 9 and 3 quarters, there's the cart that sticks halfway out of the wall where you can take pictures with! Recommended!

A very disappointing experience! I dropped by the shop on June 18, 2024 to buy some gifts and I did so. After I left the shop, I wanted to have a look at the queue where some people were being taken some photos, just because I was curious as a tourist and it was my first time there. A very very rude, middle-aged staff member wearing a vest in front of the shop started shouting at me just because I was standing in a public space, meters away from the queue. I told him that that it was a train station and he had no right to do that but he kept shouting! I tried to keep calm regardless of his terrible attitude. I came all the way from İstanbul as a solo traveller and that was so, so rude and unacceptable. Who gets to decide where a person stands and breathes for a minute after shopping? Such a shame. And shouting at a woman solo traveler like that "is NOT doing your job", which was something the guy who did all that shouted at me. Learn to behave, talk to a customer who arrived from thousand miles away and then get a job. I'm sure the Harry Potter shop can employ decent staff who do not shout at solo travelers and embarrass them in front of a crowd. It was the worst moment in my London trip and the worst attitude I had ever experienced during any of my holidays. The security staff is just a disappointment.

Two weeks ago, upon arriving at the shop, I discovered it was temporarily closed. Upon finally gaining entry, I was warmly greeted by a male staff member who offered helpful guidance, including carrying my bag in front. The store featured a diverse selection of Harry Potter items; while the robes were impressive with their thick fabric, the wand quality was disappointing compared to those at Warner Bros. Studio Tour. I decided to purchase ties, a unique find not available elsewhere, each costing £12.

A hugely popular tourist attraction for Harry Potter fans. The 'platform' itself is a little underwhelming as it is simply a sign on the wall with a suitcase but the store is Potter fans'dream full of merch and reasonably priced. My youngest daughter absolutely loved it. The store is exceptionally busy so if you don't like crowds you may not enjoy this experience.

A must visit for every Harry Potter fan, and even if you are not , the shop is just great. You can buy all different kinds of stuff, from candy to clothes . A bit pricey but worth it. You can take your picture beside the shop but if you ask me it takes way too long. Some people came in groups ,or families that take 5-6 pictures and you wait for 1-2 hours. So yeah… you need patience. King’s Cross Station is something that you must visit. It has this magical vibe and I was very happy to see it.

The shop was closed for renovations during my visit. The photo line was too long, extending outside the station. I returned around 2 pm; it was quieter, taking about 30 minutes for my turn. Staff helped create a flying scarf effect in the photo. While they offer professional shots for purchase, I opted for others to take photos with my phone. In short, you don't have to pay anything for a photo here, just need to prepare to queue up a bit.

It's definitely fun to visit this place, especially since it's in the train station. If you're a fan and don't mind waiting in line for a photo, it's a must-do. You'll love it! The shop has everything, and just looking at it is enjoyable. I definitely recommend it.
