On the Grid : The Hatch | Abura-ya

"Abura-ya" means "oil house" in Japanese. Any kind of oil, really, which is fitting, because this is the place to go for delicious fried chicken (or tofu), and it moves from place to place. Catch this pop-up restaurant every workday lunch at The Hatch (402 15th St) and four times a week for dinner down the street at Garden House (380 15th St)....they're also known to pop up occasionally in San Francisco, but not that often. It's really an Oakland thing. Sometimes there are feature performances from 3'O Clock Rock- the punk rock after-school program down the street. By night, Hatch is a cool place to hang out for Oakland beers, comfort food, and events like live music and comedy." - Arcsine

They make the best vegan wings I've ever had. Their vegan buffalo wings are the only ones I've ever had that actually get the taste and texture right (they're supposed to be buttery!) the rest are excellent too. They're so good I ended up ordering every flavor and I was worried it might be overkill but we ate them all right away now I'm craving them again and my partner already even said they wished we had more too.

The Hatch serves up delicious, affordable pizza with a variety of sauces (including several really spicy ones I truly appreciate!). The chef is not only incredibly kind but clearly takes a lot of pride in the food. The outdoor patio is a gem—super accessible, relaxed, and welcoming. One thing I truly admire is that this spot offers great food at prices that make it accessible to everyone in the neighborhood, including folks experiencing homelessness. It feels like a place built for the community, where everyone is welcome.

Hamza made our 1st time to The Hatch AMAZING he was so KIND, patient and it was his 2nd work shift of his day! I had 20 million questions as a 1st time customer and he was amazing! We'll be back for sure!

Went for pride bar crawl in September 2023. Pretty small hole in a wall bar. There’s tables and seating on second floor. They have movies playing on the projector which is cool. It was a little hot upstairs, no fan or ac playing. Cool vibes and I would come back. It was surrounded by plenty of eats and drinks. Very great walking distance.

I was really disappointed with my hot chicks burger I had here. It tasted a frozen chicken pattie you buy at the grocery store and it wasn’t even hot all the way through, as if they just threw it into a microwave or not warmed it enough. It has a mediocre sauce. The only reason I gave them 2 stars was because the pulled pork was decent, nothing exceptional but decent.

This is a no frills, delightfully grungy dive bar with great food. Enter and you may find that there is no AC, but the ice cold beers certainly make up (mostly) for that. I went in for a Happy Hour beer (very affordable at 4 bucks a pint!), ended up also getting the fries add-on for only $1.50. I mean, how could one turn down add-on fries for a buck 50? Happy hour specials are incredible - strongly recommend. And there are some all-day all-time specials that are pretty cool too - check out the MIYAGI.

Amazing atmosphere. Food drinks. Prices. Anime playing on projector. Music great. Def become a go to spot!

The burgers come with lots of options al ingredients and are really so so. Prices are decent and sitting area is huge both in hall and upstairs. The menu is not big as can be seen in photo. Quite crowdy after 8 pm. The beer range is quite limited and IPA is not that great. Will not come again. Expected more.

Yelp
Great great bar... fun fun staff... the chicken wings were great great. I've had a great time here a few nights the last several weeks. Nice selection of draft beer.

Yelp
Went to the bar next door for a friends birthday and needed some food so was greatful the Hatch was open. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, wings, and their garlic knots. I hate to say it, but not a single item was good. The wings were undercooked and didn't love the buffalo flavor. The pizza also seemed undercooked, and didn't have enough sauce. The garlic knots were way too bready and had little to no flavor. The service was quick and was easy to order, it was a little later in the evening closer to 11 pm. Could be a better place to just get drinks. Overall was very disappointing and no one in the group enjoyed the food. Maybe this was just an off order, but don't think I'll try again.

Yelp
I went here to grab some dinner, pretty late at around midnight. It's a small place with minimal seating on the bottom floor. A lot more room to sit and finish the food, is available on the second floor. The hanging artwork pieces on the walls are distinctly striking. The menu is stacked with standard bar fare, with pizza, hotdogs, fries, etc. A sizable beer selection that seems to draw in the nightly usuals. The service was not majorly terrible. Some staff members looked rather bored. I didn't order alcohol. I just wanted to eat. I chose a chili cheese dog, which included Garlic fries. I paid $14, after tip. The large portions are appreciated. Really wished it all had been yummy. I can't say that it was tasty, and memorably delicious. It looked more appetizing than it actually tasted. Which is not great. The chili was not flavorful, and it was almost cold. Not warmed up first, just slapped on top of the dog. Which made for a strange eating experience. Normally the chili is the hottest part of that particular item. A toasted bun (which is preferable) may have made a difference. The dog itself wasn't terrible. The fries were attractive. I'm into the shoestring potatoes. I was not wowed when it came to the taste. Not a huge deal. I probably should've ordered a slice of pizza, which they may be kind of popularly known for. When I am near, in downtown Oakland, I can do a round 2. They stay open really late. I was eyeballing the garlic knots, with a side of marinara. That probably would've been a hit with me or better yet the Mozz sticks. I love those.

Yelp
The kitchen has changed. They no longer serve burgers and fries. Now it's pizza and wings. The bar is still good though. Cozy, well worn, with tons of character. The bar staff was friendly. We planned to return to this bar for dinner before a show at the Fox Theater because the burgers were so good last time. It was a disappointment to find the kitchen had changed hands, but I suppose things move fast in the big city. I guess I should have checked before I made plans to eat here. (Note we did not eat here this trip)

Yelp
Service was good. We only had drinks there, not a huge selection. The margaritas weren't the strongest. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night.

Yelp
Late night food to protect yourself from a hangover? Look no further my dear this is the place to get wings, the BIGGEST slice of pizza to chase the hunger away. Service was quick and very casual. So glad Hoza pizza lives on within the hatch

Yelp
Cute specials. Dive bar with a nice bar food menu and good tunes. Right downtown Oakland! The service was a little bit slow and there weren't that many people there. The open seating plan was good... the choices for seating were strange: Bar, Upstairs (where there's no air circulation n it's hot n sticky) or at an extra large table....we tried all the seats and opted for the extra large table which seemed awkwardly placed. The food was good and fresh! There are very little thoughts into the menu, but we ordered a few things and it was good... hit the spot. No fru fru or anything..... so if you feel like baskets of fries and a burger n hotdogs.... Reasonably priced with good drinks.... This is for you! Note: bowl of packaged condiments, ick! Street parking. Only one gender friendly restroom which was dirty... brought my own disinfectant food wipes, thank goodness!

Yelp
Three stars for the Impossible Burger I didn't expect to like, minus sixteen or so stars for the vibe of the staff. I get it, I get it! It's a busy Friday night in a cramped bar and you're probably at your absolute limit with drunkards and the debauchery they invite. But honey, you chose the job. So I know you've got it in you to go in on the customer service! I believe in you! Unfortunately, it felt like my friends and I got stuck with a round of 'tenders who didn't even believe in themselves. The drinks were subpar and the service just didn't hit the mark. I'm hoping next time there's more to the visit than what we got this go-round, because we pretty much ate, took a sip our ultra-meh drinks and dipped. And trust, you wouldn't blame us if you had the same experience.

Yelp
It's a cool little dive bar. I've been twice now, about 8 months between visits. It's an end of the night kind of bar, like your last night cap after a night out. I will say the shots seemed a little short this time but eh, whatever. They have an upstairs area behind like a gate. Cool for pictures and stuff. It's very red inside so if you have color sensitivities, this may bother you.

Yelp
Great spot for a burger! Juicy and packed with flavor. Tater tots were excellent, added garlic and cheese. Couldn't finish them.

Yelp
A solid dive-y bar in downtown Oakland. A pretty big outdoor parklet space and dark and chill indoor space. A few beers on tap, and the spicy margarita was excellent (so next time I'll try more cocktails). The food menu is quite big and we had the totchos, which were crispy and a bit salty, but good and a bit portion and lots of nacho sauce and sour cream and jalapeños on them. We also had the carne asada quesadilla which was also pretty large with decent steak and some cheese, along with little cups of sour cream and a quite spicy and tasty salsa on the sicde.

Yelp
Yo. If you don't like the hatch you've got some issues. This place is great, great on the sense that it supports its staff, its community, it's patrons, and friends. This is a bars bar, the place you go to see friends. A place you go to have fairly priced drinks and bar food. A place you go to just hang, be cool, and possibly meet other cool people. You know what I love about the hatch. Damn near everything. But I also love the burger, it's not some super fancy burger, it's not in-n-out. It just does the job, and it does the job in a good way. I've had many parties here, met many people, and seen many wild things. The owner is an amazing person and so is the staff and door person. Before COVID this place used to pop off on the weekly and first fridays. Let's all support this local staple by showing love. Go buy some food and drinks. They also have Togo drinks so you don't even need to stick around. Support local!

Yelp
The Hatch has food and is overpriced for what you get. I used to go here a few years ago and thought it was "dive food for a dive'ish price", now it's expensive for what you get. I did enjoy my double cheeseburger last time (and would get it again), but the other "specialty" burgers are not great and significantly over priced. Fries alone are good, although the parmesan garlic fries are literally pre shredded crap parmesan and jar diced garlic tossed on fries, toppings are cold and not well integrated into the dish. It's like the cook never tried them? That's a common theme for everything, for instance on my burger "onion" was a 3/8" thick slice of solid onion. The kitchen just kind of serves food. $9 fries $10+ for a burger, specialty $16+. $7 beer tl/dr: If it's late and you're drunk, it's a valid burger option (don't get garlic parmesan fries), otherwise I'd say search elsewhere for your burger and fries (dare I say Scolari's??!).

Yelp
The Hatch has a good atmosphere. It's a good mixture of chill and poppin. This is a great vibe for a Saturday night. They have a good selection of food and alcohol. I'm a big fan of their wings--they come out hot with the perfect flavor. That's just how I like them. I had their garlic Parmesan fries, too, but as much as I love cheese, it was a bit too much cheese (I know...*gasp*). The fries themself were crispy and perfect temperature. Yum! The music here is one of my favorite things about it. I'll also say that the location is quite good, too. Its easy to find and near many bus lines and a BART station if you're taking public transpiration.

Hillary L.

Yelp
Strangely unfriendly bartender. Gave me the smallest pour of booze I've ever gotten in a bar in 25 years, yet it cost $15 and it wasn't even anything fancy. Blew my mind.

Yelp
Not sure why it's taken me forever to check out the Hatch but I absolutely love it! The bar food is so good and they're open late. Pairs great with their drink selection. There's plenty of seating and a second floor. It does look like it can get a little cramped when busy - but that's my imagination. I went around 11pm on a Thursday and it wasn't so bad! Also gotta add that the bartender is super chill and the music here is def a vibe. Will definitely have the Hatch as a go-to spot for late night food.

Yelp
Got kicked out for having my leftovers box of food. Not even eating it, but the F*** leftovers of where I had come. The box was never opened at their location, I checked in with the bartender and I even bought items from their food spot and we were all good-Like wtf So y'all not promoting for people to visit other spots but your own?.Security was cool and told us that the owner or boss told him to do so. When I came back in to close the bar tab everyone was confused and the "boss man" then tried to give me a half a** explanation- disrespect AF! Also they were empty AF too like yo way to promote s*** service ! But Bartenders are cool their food wasn't bad and the DJ that day was rocking it! Y'all just be mindful that if "boss man " is having a bad day you might too....

Christopher M.

Yelp
Cute little dive bar. As part of a day time pub crawl I was able to partake in there ambiance. Apparently they had food but when I asked they said I had to leave the bar and go next door to order food. Lost a star. Otherwise the staff was nice and the drinks were tasty.

Yelp
Traveled to this local spot to grab a bite last night after a show. The attendant managing the bar was rude and unprofessional. She was hugging, flirting and groping a male coworker behind the bar. She continued chatting and giggling with her coworker aware that costumers where present. This was downright awkward. We asked for a menu. She directed us to a digital wall menu. She seemed rather annoyed/irritated and made us feel extremely unwelcome as if we were a nuisance. She then asked that my friend and I wear a mask while she did not have one on, or other patrons in the establishment. My friend and I left immediately. We went next door to the Jamaican restaurant that had pleasant professional staffing and delicious cuisine.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great service, amazing bartenders.. Kenny is by far one of the best personalities you'll find in this hidden gem.. Worth a visit to if you're looking for cheap drinks and a good atmosphere..

Yelp
Drinks are cool, don't order the food. Tried pulled pork, fries, tacos, and chicken tenders . Yaaaa. Better off getting food at Taco Bell

Yelp
Love this spot. I had a great time just having the veg burger, which was delicious, and chatting with the owner. He's a great guy who is working to keep Oakland fun and vibrant, so go check this place out!

Yelp
This place definitely showcases the Oakland vibe. From the bartender to even people sitting at the bar, everyone is just really friendly. If you're a person who likes fruity drinks to sip on, there are lots of options. I got the peach mule. It was really refreshing and easy to drink. I wasn't able to check out the upstairs portion, but there is not a lot of room downstairs. Luckily, it wasn't too busy, so we snagged the corner table. The bartender was really attentive when we walked in and answered whatever questions we had. She took the time to make our drinks, and that really showed when we tasted them. The Hatch has a really chill vibe and the ambience makes it a good place to catch up with friends over drinks/food. I peeped tacos on the menu, so maybe next time!
google avatar

Yelp
For sure have been sleepin' on this place! Small bar with an upstairs. Loud music with a mix of electric, hip hop and old school. This place comes in clutch with the late night foods and it's pretty darn good too! Their menu is expansive too from burgers to hot dogs and selective lumpias. Their lemon pepper wings were HELLA salty though, my only gripe about this place. The burger was on point and the tater tots and fries were hella crispy. They have a smorgasbord of condiments too (no ranch though, boo). Definitely would come here again either for a night our or late night drunk-munchies. Either way, it's a win-win situation!

Yelp
Local dive bar in downtown Oakland. Caught wind of this place as many others have - NYT Daily podcast. Small shop that can be easy to miss, but it's right next to the pizza joint I'm a fan of their Don Santos burger which comes with pepper jack cheese, fried onion rings, jalapeños, sautéed mushrooms and their BBQ ranch sauce. Not great on the stomach TBH, but is so delicious (my guilty pleasure ). Their tater tots aren't to be slept on either - they're super crispy and the exact type of tater tots you'd want to eat after a long day. They have a number of different bar food items, from hot dogs and wings, but also a mix of things like flautas, vegan nuggets and street tacos. I'm hoping to give other items a try, but you love what you love! If you haven't listened to the Daily podcast on the Hatch I think you should give it a listen. You get an idea of the impact of covid on the staff/owner here, which is an even more incentive for you to support local businesses. Offers delivery / pickup! They have a small outdoor seating area but that's currently closed (as of January 2021).

Yelp
Atmosphere - run down and shady, We walked in and the bleach scent had not cleared out. It felt like the place had not given much attention. We sat there for several minutes before realizing you need to order your food and drinks at the bar. There were only few customers there. They looked like the regulars who hang around after work, grabbed a quick drink and dash. Drinks - not much selections. Most drinks come from a filter. I ordered a dirty martini, barely have any olives and alcohol was very skimpy. Food - We had to use our groupon and not much of a selection except hamburgers. We ordered four hamburgers, fries, and wings. The chef literally cooked each burger one at a time cus they were brought out 10 mins apart from each other. I like the heat in the buffalo wings. It had the perfect taste of hot sauce and vinegar. We forfeited the second round of drinks . not in the mood for more drinks.

Yelp
Will be coming by next time I'm in Oakland. Keep hanging in there, Pancho and team! Great story on The Daily: How a Small Bar Battled to Survive the Coronavirus from The Daily - https://www.stitcher.com/s?eid=78348713&autoplay=1

Yelp
This has a good dive bar vibe and people enjoy the food, drinks and scene. On that basis, it would rate 4 or 5 stars. There are only 3 here because I went for the Wednesday comedy stand up show and was disappointed. It's in a small mezzanine area upstairs that gets too hot (even on a cool night) and is too noisy from the larger crowd downstairs. Seating arrangement is such that people at the rear tables only see the backs of other customers. Every comic had something to say about the heat. Oakland has a small but lively stand-up scene with shows one or two days a week at several bars. Some are outside in courtyards (eg, The Double Standard). Some are inside (eg The Layover). Either of those are better bets.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times when I was working downtown pre-Rona. But just heard about this place on The Daily and will definitely be back to support Pancho. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-daily/id1200361736?i=1000493768340

Yelp
Love the Hatch! Best low key local bar in downtown oakland. Try their vegan burgers, sooooo good! They also have tator tots- which I've never tried, but they look good! Drinks are reasonably priced, and Pre-covid the weekly stand up/shows were a nice change of pace. Ive frequented here for a burger, drink and wifi several times. Great corner spot, so parking isn't too crazy.

Yelp
Visited The Hatch for Happy hour since I was in the area. It is easy to miss if its your first time. They're located right next to a pizza shop. They have a pitcher of beer on happy hour for $18 so it was pretty worth the price! They have a small selection of rotating taps. However, they aren't really that good for happy hour food as they don't have that much variety on the happy hour menu. There was only 1 bartender working during peak happy hour so it took about 10 minutes to place an order.
google avatar

Ed M.

Yelp
Good food and open late. The hot dog is great and only $4. The chili is solid, and pairs nicely with their cheese sauce on dogs and fries. The burgers are good, but the patties are a little small. Ordering a double would help this. The veggies are served up plentiful on the burger and were of great quality. Friendly staff, fast service, and very reasonable prices make The Hatch a winner.

Yelp
The Hatch has a hipster-ish, faux-divey feel to me with it's reclaimed wood type decor (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-hatch-oakland-oakland?select=C4gkBiXa0US8j9xeF3a6TA). There's an upstairs seating area overlooking the bar (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-hatch-oakland-oakland?select=Y7dsGOoYX9ZYBWWHpAj2mw) which gets a ton of light from a skylight during the day (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-hatch-oakland-oakland?select=w_yifKvwlxhjBav0mtZqHA) Menu from the small kitchen has a $10 Burger (beef or vegan) & Beer lunch special (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-hatch-oakland-oakland?select=KNJpRFIm6XjLCjLSby_xTQ) along with tacos, lumpia, salads, and other sandwiches (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-hatch-oakland-oakland?select=G40-_CMD2y79G7C4hVRB5g). Happy Hour is 11am-7pm with $1 off draft beers, $5 well drinks, and $16 pitchers of beer or margaritas. I got the burger with no lettuce (default has that, tomato & pickles) and added grilled onions which comes on a toasted sesame bun (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-hatch-oakland-oakland?select=F21MLLsiZaLLfqEsLSjkWw). A plus was the winter tomato was riper than I expected and a minus was the grilled onions were pre-grilled and cold. Not sure how they'd do with a specified doneness, but the thin patty was cooked to well done and pretty dry (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-hatch-oakland-oakland?select=Xr1eL5uhRGW977pxJjRcjw) so definitely needed some additional condiments that they have available with utensils and water (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-hatch-oakland-oakland?select=yIW17PA_E_OhG65cWjLAAw) to moisten things up. I had some of the tacos and they were better than the burger, served on a pair of corn tortillas, topped with onions and salsa, with a lime wedge (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-hatch-oakland-oakland?select=kCHJbeAwcEgpMUoV5XG5dQ) The carnitas was tender with some crispy edges (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-hatch-oakland-oakland?select=63y_wiK2nzYE9auiK8tn7A) which I enjoyed more than the "al pastor"; that was very saucy / tomato-y and didn't taste like it had been spit roasted (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-hatch-oakland-oakland?select=x7cShE1D2pFpeJupLdMfXA) The salsa had a fire-roasted taste to it and definitely has some kick. Bartenders have been very friendly / chatty.

Yelp
Though not many people know or reviewed, Hatch is a cozy little beer joint in Downtown Oakland. It is a great little place to gnaw on some good food as well. There are eight micro-brews on tap. I started out with the Deschutes River ale. For $6.00 a pint, the brew is a light and calming beer with a 4.0% ABV. This is a very drinkable brew. I like it. For dinner, I need to fill out a form and check the item and toppings that I want to zero in on. I chose a simple cheese burger for $5.75. I also added bacon for an additional $.50 and onions for $.25. The burger was juicy and definitely hit the spot. For $2.99, I also ordered a basket of French fries. The basket of fries is a hefty size and can easily be a meal. I was enjoying my meal while watching Monday night football. The bartender was a laid back dude too. As some of you have read from my "Quick tip" from here, the little spot also serve Japanese Fried Chicken for lunch on Tuesdays and Fridays. I might come back here and try that exclusive item and hopefully give an update.

Yelp
I needed a place to hang-out for a bit and get a bite to eat while waiting for my uncle to get out of work. I couldn't be happier that I ran into The Hatch. My plan was to grab a slice over at Five 10, but they didn't seem to be open quite yet, so I saw the sign for the Hatch and decided to try it. The Hatch isn't that big, but it has a good feel. You've got some tables up front, plenty of bar seats to the right, and a few tables in the back. Options for beer are good, they have mixed drinks as well, and the selection of food is selective, but just right. Hatch has plenty of specials and I came on a Tuesday. You know what that means. Taco Tuesday!!! I ordered a carnitas taco (2 for 1 with a drink) and a Pine Street beer. All of it was great. The taco was delicious as was the beer. I would have ordered more tacos, but wanted to save some room for dinner with the fam later. I also tried the tater tots and they were good. The folks around me were fun, the staff was nice, and the food was good, so I'd recommend you give it a try.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place, one of my favorite places I've been to in Oakland! Came here on a whim when I wanted a quick bite to eat and a drink as a quick dinner. I go the atom splitter beer which was tasty. Also got a burger which was really good. I love that they grill their onions and toast their buns. Also, avocado is only 50 cents more. Best thing to get though are the tacos! They put tons of meat and the are full of flavor. They are a bit spicy though, so be warned! The bartender was really nice and service was pretty fast. Price wise, everything is very reasonable. Can't wait to go back and try more things on the menu!

Yelp
TL;DR Hungry without passion for flavor? All chill, sensory deprivation is so 2019 If there's any sense of justice in gentrification it's that newfound locals can blissfully suffer in the 3rd circle of culinary hell known as the bland-supermarket-ingredient-mimicry that is The Hatch. Situated between a rock and a stale place, sits an ambience designed for the emaciated. desperate, and at best the existentially lost. Upon arrival you'll be met with decor that, while recycle-conscious, came lifted straight from the back of your uncles's garage (the art was cool though no cap). Act 1: Gaslighting You'd be hard pressed to be more confused than wandering through a mirror-maze, but our bartender made sure we didn't leave without doubting our sense of reality. Simply pick from the menu or freestyle mud wrestle through some ingredient boxes- today's mirages: Roadrunner or Royal Deluxe? We were told we marked the wrong box, whatever, we were starving and still ate some partially frozen fries. The former looked promising while the latter came at us like a child's first picnic- be glad for the lack of ants but wonder why the fam picked up ingredients from a gas station 10 minutes ago. Act 2: Shock and Awe Unlike 1993's Dazed and Confused, it would be a lot cooler if I Didn't drink. Don't get it twisted, we work in the bar industry. Smoke Monster = a flavor cry for help, either way hop in loser; we're going shopping for an identity crisis- all the smoke, well that's it ..all smoke, you don't want no smoke. Winterfell= season 7 of Game of Thrones aka Jon Snow should've pet that dog aka pass on the syrup overload for a more heartwarming experience. Act 3 Therapy Left with the same feelings at the end of Inception- wtf really did just happen?

Yelp
Great, fast service. Chill music. Great people and food! Got two shots, a beer and side of fries for $20 which is a pretty great deal in the Bay Area. Will definitely bring more friends back

Yelp
I was walking by and saw a sign that said $10 Burger and Beer off Broadway, that sign led me to another and another and finally to this lunchtime $10 joint. The lights are dim and place is wood and it all just looks nice, look up and see your options they also have papers and pens on the bar to build your own burger for that $10 lunch on a Friday! Staff was friendly and welcoming, the vibe inside during afternoon hours is definitely chill. You can find WiFi if you need it, oh and they are vegan and vegetarian friendly. The burger was good basic burger and even more basic when you make it vegan, it was toasted buns, patty, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. They have condiments for you I just put some dijon mustard and ketchup and called it a day. I snaped the place and a friend said he likes the Hatch, he is goes to a lot of live shows chances are the music there is good. I will be back!

Yelp
Truly one of my favorite undercover bar in Oakland with decent bar bites. If this place was for sale, I would make an offer. It's small and it has a kitchen. The bar bites here never disappoints. Limited choice of alcohol, but it's does the job. It has an upstairs for more space. But it feels like the upstairs would sink in if it was packed. Something about this petite spot I really like. Staff is always always cool. Taco Tuesday is not bad. But on regular days, tacos are $4.00 and I'd rather go to the truck on International Blvd for that price. Decent grilled cheese sandwich, burgers, and wings.

Yelp
Burger made from frozen meat patty. Very disappointing. Dry, thin, zero flavor. Do not bother.

Yelp
Abel is amazing and served us wonderful cocktails. He was very busy by himself on a Thursday and handled our large party seamlessly when we walked in. I want to commend him for awesome service and dealt with our requests in a timely fashion and let's just say the cocktails and food will bring us back there soon!

Yelp
This is a no frills, delightfully grungy dive bar with great food. Enter and you may find that there is no AC, but the ice cold beers certainly make up (partially) for that. Cheers!

Yelp
Great place for a beer and music. They have a good selection of cocktails and their beer on tap is pretty good. Great vibe in this location and they do have a large outdoor dinning area. We will go back again to try their food.

Yelp
Ordered delivery and this was one awful burger. The bread and the patties were dry. Every bite felt like I was chewing sand. There was basically 1/3rd of a whole onion in my burger. I like onions but it was basically like a patty of onion. Definitely will not order here again

Yelp
Was here last Tuesday, 4/9 and walked in trying to sit at the bar where we usually sit. Bartender had taken over the section as her prep area. Cool, not a problem we sat somewhere else. What bothered me was I overheard her talking about us to other patrons that we thought we could just wherever we wanted. WTF? Not cool, and it left such a bad impression that we won't be back. Too bad - other bartenders have always been supercool when I came here solo on weekends. Menu seems to have changed too, so not sure what other changes they've gone through or if it's new owners/managers.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time late at night after leaving a nightclub. We ordered the Grilled Cheese and Supreme Fies. The Grilled Cheese was tasty but nothing special, I could have made it at home. The Suoreme Fries was a Supreme disappointment, would not recommend.
