Expect a wait. In fact, if you’re going on a Sunday, go in and add your name on the computer, and they will text you when the table is ready. Then go to the tiny Farmers Market on the side street and check things out. If you buy food there, save it for later because you want to save room for the Hatchery. I appreciated the get your own coffee and tea station since the kitchen was so busy, the server said she had to wait to take our order. But food came out fast after that. Outstanding pancakes. However, if you’re going to charge $1.50 for an extra teeny cup of maple syrup, then you should let the customer know there is an extra fee! Side of bacon was three tiny pieces. Other tables had better and bigger pieces. Come on, throw in another piece and keep the customer happy. I was excited to try the home fries on the delicious farm-fresh eggs, but they got a little too fancy with it and added some spice that made them inedible me. Keep it simple please! Server was adroit at the upsell. A little too much for my opinion. Still it was a good price for a nice breakfast.

This might be my new favorite breakfast place. Cilantro omelette (with black beans): Savory, well-filled, a good lime flavor in the beans. Thought I wouldn't enjoy the monotony in texture but the flavor certainly made it worth it (and there was a perfect amount of pico to boot). The pictures don't do it justice. Like a little present. Apple Butter Omelette: Sweet but not too sweet. The eggs themselves were not seasoned in any particular way but were cooked to order and had nice layers. Cinnamon Roll French Toast: You see it in the picture. It's very good, very filling. Pancakes: Fluffy and do not fall apart without a satisfying tear. They also serve with Sugar Bob's which makes it all the better. The marbled rye is to die for. Buttered and well-toasted, has a soft bite to it. Homefries were unique, not our style but very good for folks who like all the parts of their potatoes. Bacon was perfectly cooked, so was the sausage. We are full but not feeling sick at all. Worth it for a trip before a good hike or ski!

Cute local place, we enjoyed. Great fresh squeezed orange juice, very generous servings, filling American diner menu.

This is the first time I have eaten at this restaraunt...which is open 6 hours a day 5 days a week. I am baffled by this establishments use of single use items in a dine-in setting. The waitress was fine if inattentive. The young busboy was extremely attentive. The food, despite being a higher price point, was underwhelming. The has browns or homefries were both over and undercooked. Cooked to the point of mush but no sear or color. What a pity

Great brunch spot. There was a 30-min waitlist so we shopped at the nearby Depot Street Gallery store that had really unique locally-made artwork, soaps, trinkets etc. The cinnamon French toast was FANTASTIC. The sausage & Vermont apple cheddar omelet was delicious too- perfect balance of sweet & savory. Freshly squeezed OJ was refreshing too.

We have not been in over 15 years and we recently went a few days ago. We went when the food used to be really good and everything was included such as jam, maple syrup, bacon, all the sides was included. But after a few years, the owner at the Hatchery Frank left and him and his wife moved to Montana because his wife was a teacher and she was retiring at some point. When Frank left, the service was a little under par. Frank was great at all that stuff. When we went a few days ago, it was better than I expected. I thought it would be less good, but the food was delicious. The only con is you have to pay extra on the sides like chocolate chips, bacon, etc. They did include the syrup, a little over priced, but not too crazy.

We visited The Hatchery for breakfast while passing through Ludlow. It's a quaint restaurant that looks small from the outside but actually has plenty of seating inside. We signed in on the iPad at the counter and were seated after a short 15-minute wait. Coffee and drinks are self-serve at the bar. Our order was taken promptly, and the food arrived quickly; however, we didn’t see our waitress again until we asked for the bill, which was a bit disappointing. The bacon was delicious, and the cinnamon roll French toast was a standout! The hashbrowns, on the other hand, were too thick and undercooked for our taste. The portions were generous — plenty for two people — but the final bill came to $68.64 (including tip), which felt a bit pricey for breakfast. That said, I really love their charming wooden menu and would consider returning to try other items.

We visited this place 2 years ago and once we knew we would be in the area again we made it a must. Even if we had to drive 30 mins to get there. The freshly squeezed Orange Juice is amazing and the food is delicious.
