"If you told us that The Haven was an actual Scottish pub that was air-lifted to JP directly from the moors outside St. Andrews, we’d probably believe you (and not just because we don’t have a good grasp on how transatlantic aviation works). It’s a cozy little cabin of a pub with a very Scottish menu (including haggis) and lots of good brown liquor. This place is almost perfect for cooler nights in the fall and winter - the only thing holding it back is that its fireplace burns gas instead of peat." - Dan Secatore

I live a block away and I had been here before the previous owner passed away. I was a little apprehensive about returning and what it might be like. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was super friendly and the French dip was even better than before! It was amazing along with the onion petals!

We had a very young female serve us over the weekend, and she continually flirted with my husband when she came to our table. Although our service was less than desirable, the food was delicious! I’m not sure we will be back due to my husband and I feeling very uncomfortable with the serving staff

Having never experienced Jack salmon, I had to give this apparent STL institution a try. they did not disappoint! I had the blue cheese slaw, which was incredibly good (but could have been more chilled) and the Jack salmon was tender, flaky and delicious. It appeared to be crunchy on the outside, yet the crust wasn’t crunchy. The fries appeared to be nice and crispy, as I like them, but they were room temperature. I was there around 6 p.m. and it was a packed house. I was able to get a table at the bar immediately, however. The proprietor was there and I enjoyed a fun conversation with him. He and the staff were welcoming and the patrons were great, as well. I’ll be back to explore more of the menu!

We’ve been going to the Haven several years and we’re anxious about revisiting after the re-opening but had an amazing experience. Our server, Ava, was so nice & attentive, gave a great recommendation on getting the onion petals too. We got a mushroom Swiss & a Frisco Melt, both were delicious. Glad our local hangout is back & better than ever!

I was happy with my experience at The Haven. I had a friendly server and everything was fresh and arrived quickly. I had the baked cod with onion petals and steamed broccoli. My only complaint is that it tasted like the oil needed a change--which is to be expected at a pub that serves a lot of fried food daily. It didn't ruin my experience or even stop me from eating the onion petals. Their restrooms were clean and well-stocked. There are multiple TVs showing different sports and shows, which some may find distracting. My meal was very affordable, and I plan to try the salmon if I go back.

My GO TO place for fried cod. The waitresses are very on top of things with orders and drink refills. EDIT: Visited again and had the nicest waitress and bus boy, John. Very good dinner. The carrot cake was delicious!

Went Saturday when they first open with my mom. Never been here. Was a nice atmosphere people at the bar and other people/families sitting at the tables. Wait times were a little long for the food. Server was very nice and got everything perfect. Food was sooooo good!!! And it was plentiful I had some to take home to eat later on. Great place to go. Will definitely be back.
