This is the best local butcher in San Diego. Period. They are truly farm to table. Plus they make great sandwiches everyday to order from their own meats. And yes you can get a beer with that as well if you're eating on the patio. I just got true Wagyu beef (pictured below) with an A9 rating. I've never seen that sold directly to the public outside of Japan. For all of your meaty needs, go see them!

Google
I wish I had a bigger stomach! These sandwiches were worth the drive. We are sampling their homemade hot sausages tonight. Next time we visit, we'll try the steak sandwich.

Sausage making 101--great fun class, tasty recipes, and informative lessons. Very much enjoyed the experience, and looking forward to their other classes offered.

Google
We love this place! Their meat is phenomenal, their service is fantastic, and their butchers are so knowledgeable about the product itself. They could tell you exactly how it should be prepared or what cuts are best for what recipes. They even offer classes! I recommend across the board to anyone looking for higher quality meat than what you find in a grocery store. This is the place to go. We will definitely be back again and again!

Google
A buddy and I went to sample some of the meats and sausages at Heart & Trotter after I happened upon their advertisement stating they were cooking outdoors Sundays from 12-3 pm. A very nice, clean & well run shop with one of the nicest selections of specialty meats, sandwiches, sausage, bone broths, ect. One of the locals suggested we sample the Pastrami, so we ordered a 1/4 lb of thinly sliced with a side of stone-ground mustard. I'm telling you, it was like butter; melted in your mouth! And the sausages were exceptional in every way (Kudos to the chef for how flavorful her sauces were too.) They had an excellent selection of some local beers that helped to make the visit all the more memorable! This is a place you really, really want to check out for yourself; you'll be glad you did!

Google
We stopped on for a burger on a Saturday and were very impressed. The staff was super friendly. They have a large variety of meats, weigh they state are sustainable and hormone free. We were just checking it out, but have a few cuts we will come back for. Oh, and the burner was delicious!

Google
Okay.. let me set the record straight. No, H&T is not cheap. However, their quality is second to none here in SD. Perhaps folks need to reexamine what is "expensive" with respect to meat.. I was in there the other day and grabbed a giant bone out pork chop that was plenty for my wife and I for diner and it cost $11.50. May I also add that it was the most beautiful piece of pork I have ever purchased from a butcher! Cooked in a cast iron with butter = INCREDIBLE!! Next level stuff, the fat was sublime. $11.50 divided by 2 is cheap!! Cant get an extra value meal for 2 people for what it cost us to have a world class cut of meat!! So to everyone I've heard complain about their prices, check yourself! And to the dude who wants to see more selection of hamburger meat and hot dogs and has the balls to tell these dudes to "step there game up" I say, why don't you step your game up bro..

Google
Great place with great service. Has good selection of meats for grilling and smoking. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. I always call ahead to verify if they have the meat I'm looking for in stock. If they don't currently have the meat, they have provided the date that it will be back in stock every time. Small butcher that provides to a large area, so recommend calling ahead. Best butcher around by far.

Yelp
This is a gem I found right across from my barbershop that I've wanted to try for a while. Walking in, it smells like meat on the smoker. They are a local butcher shop that has many cuts of meat as well as chicken, lamb, oxtails, and specialty burgers to order fresh. The shop also has a stand with a multitude of rubs, sauces, and seasonings to add to any meat of your choice. I went in for lunch to order their Peppered Turkey Sandwich, which tasted amazing and was a huge portion for a sandwich.

Juan F.

Yelp
Stopped in for some sandwiches. Very tasty. High quality. The bread was perfect. I ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich and it did not disappoint.

Gabrielle S.

Yelp
The food is absolutely amazing and I'm not just talking about the sandwiches that you can order, but they also have Chicharron and a bunch of premade salads in the cold case along with all of these marinated meats that you could choose from. And in case you still forgot some seasonings at the market they also have a wall full of different types of seasonings that you may need or something new for you to try. Love here the service is really quick and the cashier is always helpful when it comes to ordering food or even just finding the right shirt size to purchase from them. When you walk into the Wise Ox you realize that you're walking into someplace special. You know that you're gonna come out with something good to eat from there or something to prepare . Love this place!

Hannah N.

Yelp
First time here and definitely not the last!! The Wise Ox has been on our list of places that we have been wanting to go to for awhile now because we love cooking and trying out new butcher shops. The shop itself is small but they have a large variety of options to pick from! After being out of town for awhile I was craving a good home cooked meal so we decided to go into this spot and decide what our star of the meal would be. The staff is super helpful and was able to help us make a decision after describing all of the different meats they had along with the pre marinated ones. We went with the Santa Maria tri tip which had been marinating for a day so it was perfect to cook that night. It was so good and we had plenty leftover for the second day as well and it was just as good! We will be heading here for our BBQing needs more often!

Sandra C.

Yelp
Turkey sandwich was 4 stars whereas the philly cheese steak was a 3. The service was a little slow and it turned out that our order was ready -- as it had been more than 10 minutes easily, but the guy at the counter didn't tell us or bring it out to us so we had to check. Turkey was toasted on sourdough, with smoked pepper turkey, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. This was tasty. I did not really care for the philly cheese steak for several reasons. First, I didn't like the bread b/c it's like a hot dog bun (soft and too much dough). Maybe I I should have asked for sour dough. Second, I did not really like the meat. I thought it would have tasted better grilled with onions, salt, and pepper. So perhaps I just do not like philly cheese steak sandwiches. Outdoor seating only with a few high tables and some bench seating. Inside is a case with lots of nice gourmet expensive cuts of meat.

Dung N.

Yelp
After grabbing coffee, I drove here to grab some sandwiches. I got a turkey sandwich, double cheeseburger, a roast beef sandwich, and 2 beef fat fries. They accidentally charged me for a bag of Ruffles, but they credited it back to me. Everything was ready in less than 10 minutes. The fries were thick! I didn't get to try the burger, but both of the sandwiches were tasty. I think the turkey sandwich wasn't anything special, but the roast beef was definitely my favorite. It was really flavorful and the bread was good too. Such a nice and simple birthday lunch!

Yelp
I am attempting to try all the popular burgers in San Diego & this place was on the list. It was a good meal, but I do not feel any draw to return for the food. - Dry aged burger ($13.99): The burger was good, but I did not taste anything special about it. I don't know what being dry-aged is supposed to add to meat when it is ground, but it was not any more juicy than other burgers I have tried. I have no idea what a TRG bun is, but it was nice and soft. - Pork philly cheese steak ($12.99): This dish was unique because I had never eaten a pork cheese steak. Nor a Philly cheese steak with American cheese instead of provolone. I wonder at what point you can still use the term "Philly cheese steak" rather than just calling it a shaved pork sandwich. The meat is nice and smoky, the roll is soft. The cheese was not completely melted, and I did not like that it was neither provolone nor cheese whiz. - Beef fat fries ($5.99): These were nicely crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside. I was expecting a lot of grease from the beef fat, but it was definitely not the case! Parking: There is a very small lot that was already full when I came 30min past opening. We had to find street parking half a mile away. Ambiance: You place your order inside. They text you when your order is ready. All seating is outdoors.

Chelc K.

Yelp
I bought filet mignon, ribeye and bone in ribeye. They were all just average and definitely not worth the price. Standard for prime filet is $40-$45 a pound. They were charging $55!!!!

Darcie J.

Yelp
Turkey sandwich was insanely good & loaded with high quality meat! The fries gave me high and McDonalds vibes and were salted to perfection - I do recommend eating them first as they were best hot! The staff was super knowledgeable and helpful. They operate a meat subscription service that we're excited to try and they explained it really well without being overly pushy about ordering it! 5/5 stars!!

Chad W.

Yelp
Man, I've been following them for 2 years on instagram. Finally was in San Diego and tried them......GO! NOW! Don't walk. I always like to look pictures of my food because food looks a certain way that's appealing to people. Like when you see it, you know that's your style. All that lived up to the hype for me. Their cheesesteak was amazing. My girl had the smoked pork belly Vietnamese sandwich and she loved it. I wish this place was in Vegas because I'd definitely frequent the butcher shop!!

Kevin B.

Yelp
Immaculate sandwiches are just the beginning here. The staff are incredibly knowledgable and friendly. Wade stopped what he was doing to talk to me about what to look for in a new grill for about 10 minutes. Brad, the head chef, is an awesome dude as well. The Ox Box is the best deal in town for any meat lover. Can't say enough about this place, you owe it to yourself to check it out.

Sean H.

Yelp
This food put me into a coma.... You have to get the fries, they are cooked in animal fat, so good. The Turkey sandwich was good but I want to take advantage of their other more hearty sandwiches next time. I just didn't like the seating area outside, there were tons of flies and it just felt grimy. Maybe next time I'll go to the park around the corner to eat. The service was slow, (had to get an empanada next door to share while we waited) but friendly. Lack of drink options besides alcohol and no water was a let down.

Lauren B.

Yelp
For takeaway order Wanted to order online for pick up but decided to go in. Good thing too as the bologna sandwich was unavailable for online ordering but we were able to order it in person. Took about 30 min from ordering until the food was ready. It was worth the wait. Roast Beef was good but that bologna was bomb. Will come back for that sandwich and to try other items. Fries were good but nothing special. Great spot to hit up before you go to the brewery. Try the bologna.

Scott P.

Yelp
Their sandwiches are very good and I've never had an issue with their food. My quarrel was with how the order was processed and received. You're texted that your order is ready and you go and grab it. I ended up waiting 35 minutes for two sandwiches, with no one else present at the shop but myself, all because my phone number was incorrectly input. I sat directly outside the door in eyesight of the counter but was told they didn't know where I was and I didn't want to stand inside because it's not very big and would be sort of rude to crowd the shop if it were to get busy while waiting on my food. Moral of the review is if you have an out of state number that's close to San Diego's area code make sure it's correct or they'll assume it and you'll wait longer than you should.

Linda T.

Yelp
The plaza itself has limited parking spaces so be aware prior to coming here. We were on our way back to OC after a trip to SD, but was IG influenced to come to this sandwich/butcher shop! Shop is small itself, but does the job. Needless to say, we did have a 10AM Philly Cheesesteak, Beef Fat Fries, and Peppered Turkey Sandwich. They also had breakfast sandwiches available in the morning. No regrets because the sandwiches were very good! Our cheeseteak was ooey. gooey, and meat was thinly sliced. Peppered turkey had the aoili that was perfection. Glad we were able to try this at least once. Will definitely come back to try the burger!

Yelp
This butcher shop serves lovely savory meats with tasty bread. To call these sandwiches dumbs them down to a PB&J on Wonder bread. Yea - those are good childhood memories, but for cherished taste-orgasms and satisfied chewing - STOP, schedule this lunch date with your BEST pals , and PLEASE, thank me later!! Friend had the Aged Beef burger - she said best burger ever-- she is a connoisseur of good taste, fashion, food, & hair, so trust her. S.O. Looked skeptically at the amount of meat in the Philly cheesesteak, then sunk his teeth into it and he, was, gone. He still misses his old place in P.B. We both agree that the bread makes the sandwich as a principle in general. Nylund and I enjoyed our roast beef sandwiches, the mustard really crowned the taste! Seating is outdoors, bar style, and two small tables. Most people take away or out. Casual vibe. You can bring home these yummies and enjoy them cooked to your own level of comfort. Thank you, Wise Ox!! Much success to you, in large part wished for your first one hundred years in San Diego as a new staple of taste tourism!

Alissa T.

Yelp
Wow! We've been fans of the Trust Restaurant Group for a while now and were so excited to try out their sandwich place! It was worth the wait! Food: 5/5 The meat on both the Philly cheesesteak and the dry aged burger was perfect! Both sandwiches were flavorful and seasoned just right. Service: 5/5 The shop was busy when we came in here for lunch. However, the guy taking the orders still went out of his way to be friendly and help us, even as he was taking phone orders and calling out the orders that were ready to go! Ambiance: 5/5 Not only does this place sell delicious sandwiches, they also have a meat counter and a little shop that sells drinks, chips, and other items you might need to round out your meal. There was plenty of seating outside, and it was an cute little cafe! I can't wait to come back. They have different sandwiches throughout the year so we are waiting for the Cuban to be put back on the menu!

Ciarra G.

Yelp
Cute butcher shop in North Park. There's a small menu of sandwiches you can buy to eat there or to go. I was told the Philly cheesesteak is one of the popular sandwiches so I got it. The sandwich itself was underwhelming. The quality of the meat was great but I think it needed more flavor. I also thought it was a bit overpriced. I was charged $11.99 for the sandwich and a side of beef fat fries were $5.99. However, I do want to come back and try some of their steaks and marinated chicken. There's a variety of meat options such as tomahawk steaks, pork chops, sausages, and several marinated meats if you're not looking to buy from the deli. There's also a wall full of sauces and wine to purchase as well as a small selection of cold beer and kombucha. Staff were friendly and recommended a few things after knowing it was my first time there. Service is quick. The plaza has its own small parking lot.

Todd B.

Yelp
In an unassuming parking lot, resides a gem of butcher shops. Wonderful house burger and the fries are awesome as well. Definitely worth the trip!!

Jenn D.

Yelp
Great place to grab a sandwich for lunch as well as some meats to make at home for dinner. They do simple sandwiches/ burgers, but very well done. The smoked pork belly banh mi was great, although they forgot the patè. My boyfriend loved his cheesesteak which was very well seasoned. The cashier was friendly and gave great recommendations. There is outside bar seating that is limited so you may have to take it to go!

Ale L.

Yelp
The Wise Ox is a small counter with a tiny gourmet market, like you'd expect at your typical butcher shops (plus/minus the commitment to quality ingredients). The folks working there greet you warmly and produce one of the finest Philly Cheese Steaks I've ever eaten. I am going to return, and buy my vegetarian wife some hot sauce while I munch on another sandwich or take home meat to grill at home.

Judah S.

Yelp
Good food and a great addition to north park and the entire 30th street vibe. Love the customer service and the quality.

David K.

Yelp
Believe the reviews 'cos the Ox is hot. I've always been intimidated walking past this store - because everything inside is so neat & clean, dry aged steaks in these special dryer/refrigerator thingys, lots of condiments & hot sauces, Buffalo meat, and - well - Carnivore Delight. And I was too ashamed to enter with my Omaha Steak palette. But that smoker out front - wow - that's what pulled me & the pup in. I was going to go for the brisket - but saw two things that jumped out at me. Things I'm not supposed to have - but so sinfully delicious: Philly Cheese Steak and French Fries in fried in Beef tallow/fat. Pretty darn rockin' - get the fries - better than McD's. They are thick & crunchy! Seating is limited and tight. It's a store more than a restaurant. Counter service was top notch (great recommendations!!). Now, gotta work on my Omaha palette by getting one of those steaks.

Alannah And Daken S.

Yelp
We learn so much about the meat processing, healthy farming and "best" cuts of meats are for us each time we go into this small but mighty establishment in North Park. This was a first time my hubby and I actually went to a 'real' butcher shop and were pleasantly surprised by how clean, and expedient the store and the service was and how knowledgeable and friendly "Tony" has been these past two times. I'm sure we will be back as we certainly appreciate paying for the best cuts of meat and enjoying our new carnivore way of eating!

Victor A.

Yelp
Well I went in because I had to try the place that has grabbed my attention on social media. The place is a small but has a great vibe! The service was excellent and the guy who helped us recommended we try 3 different things so of course I said give me one of each! I had the smoked bologna sandwich and I rate it an 8.8/10 it was good very good at that but I wish I added more mustard and some hot sauce to it. I also had the Philly cheesesteak and I have to say it was fire the chili peppers set it off right I give it a 9.2 out if 10 I just wish it had meat all the way to the ends of the roll because it was that good. Also I had the dry aged burger and this was the thing I liked least. I didn't think it was all that although it was good. Needed some ketchup maybe to flare it up a bit I give it an 8.0. Although the butcher shop is amazing the prices were made for billionaires. I know inflation is a Mofo these days but I do know the cuts looked prime and amazing! I wasn't going home or else I would have purchased a whole lot of meat and the prepackaged marinated meats looked amazing. So I will definitely get those next time. Service is important but you can treat me like shit if the food is fire. So it's just a plus when you get both. This place is a must try so enjoy next time I'm trying a few different things to say I did the whole menu! Enjoy Awafii

Hanna V.

Yelp
Delicious! Wise Ox has been on my to-visit list for a while now. It did not disappoint. The bread is heavenly and the aioli is delightful. I can't wait to go back again!

Gladys L.

Yelp
Wise Ox is the spot with incredible eats and friendly vibes. First off, the customer service? Absolutely top-notch. These folks make you feel like you're dining with friends. Now, let's get to the stars of the show - the steaks and sandwiches. Oh boy, the quality is off the charts. But let's talk about that breakfast sandwich - it's like a party in your mouth with that buttery bread, juicy sausage, crispy lettuce, and that hot honey sauce that's pure magic. And speaking of sandwiches, the turkey and Philly cheesesteak ones are no slouches either. But wait, there's more - the duck fat fries. Seriously, they're like little bites of heaven. If you find yourself in the area and need a quick bite that's way beyond average, Wise Ox is the answer. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch or quality meats for dinner, trust me, you won't regret making this spot your go-to.

Gloria H.

Yelp
The only negatives are their homemade pickles a little on the vinegar side. The buns were delicious just a little too thick. Other than that these meats that they carve and smoke on premises are outstanding!! Service was only as fast as when you order they make it. Love it. Their wrap around seating outside is cute. I can't wait to go back and try the fried bologna sandwich.

Evan B.

Yelp
Got the Philly Cheesesteak and it was remarkable. The bred is the key, but the fact that the steak is thicker and seasoned perfectly makes this one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Oh - can't forget to highlight that they use Duke's mayonnaise

Christina G.

Yelp
Disappointing customer service. We ordered online around 2 pm on a weekday. Order confirmation said 30 mins until order ready. We weren't expecting the wait to be that long for ONE sandwich and fries but hoped it was a conservative estimate. We arrived at store (La Costa) after 10 mins and checked on order. Guy read the receipt and repeated the 2:30 target time. We watched one customer arrive, order THREE sandwiches and got her food before us. Maybe the takeaway is that ordering online doesn't save you time. I'm partial to good customer service even if the food is fantastic. I was really excited about this place and anticipated making it a regular stop. There are other butcher shops in town.

Terrence S.

Yelp
Came here to try some of the signature cooked beef sandwich/burgers to go. It didn't start off well when I found out that they were closed on a random weekday. The hours show that they're open every day so maybe it was a construction thing. The second time I try coming here I arrived at 4:45pm right after work but about 15 minutes before they close, just for them to say that they've run out of every meat for the sandwiches. Third time I made sure to come well before closing time at 1pm on a Thursday. There was no line when I first arrived and promptly placed my order for a roast beef sandwich and the dry aged burger. Shortly after my order a bunch of people trickled in and out buying a mix of meats. Took 30 minutes before my order was ready to go. The whole time there was a jackhammer outside doing more construction. Not the most pleasant experience. The burger was not bad. Juicy with lots of flavor, went well with bacon, loved that there weren't too many pickles with overwhelming sour taste. Roast beef was also ok. Beef is juicy, and comes with fresh lettuce and tomato. Plenty of cheese on top too. The food itself is not bad, but just the wait and the vibe of unavailability makes me want to go to other places for good beef. Probably won't be back anytime soon.

Xyomara P.

Yelp
Nice butcher with good quality The deli burgers and sandwiches are delish just order ahead always a busy place but worth it

JR L.

Yelp
The Wise Ox - A Hidden Gem We came on the weekend and sadly pretty much their entire menu was sold out - but we did get to try their turkey sandwich and Philly cheesesteaks! The turkey was simply outstanding and honestly impressed me. The smokiness and saltiness worked together, creating a depth of flavor that elevated the entire sandwich and the toasted bread was perfect. The Philly cheesesteak at The Wise Ox was everything I could have desired in a classic cheese steak. From the first bite, it was evident that the quality of the meat was exceptional. Each slice was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. One of the hidden gems of The Wise Ox is their impressive selection of meats. The variety of cuts available and the shelves of seasonings are a delightful sight for any food enthusiast. The attention to detail in sourcing high-quality ingredients and providing diverse options sets The Wise Ox apart from other establishments. The small space of The Wise Ox adds to its charm and coziness. The decor creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a delicious meal. While the limited seating may pose a challenge during peak hours, the overall experience compensates for any space constraints.

Natalie A.

Yelp
The wise ox has the best burger I've had in a long time! They use high-quality meat, and you can really taste the difference. The patty was cooked perfectly - juicy and flavorful. And I loved the pickles!

Peter T.

Yelp
While it sizzles on social media I was less impressed than I should have been. We got 3 items at Wise Ox: -Cheesesteak -Turkey sando -Beef fat fries Cheesesteak was very average. I'd say Gaglione Bros is better. While the beef was chunky and plentiful the overall flavor was average. Wife raved about the turkey sandwich, and the beef fat fries were awesome. As a butcher shop the variety is fairly limited. Steaks, sausages, some other bits and pieces, pantry small as well. We live less than1 mile from Cheer's in San Carlos, less than 3 miles from Iowa meats this is more detrimental to external deli's and butchers than I anticipated. The food is pretty good, but I dunno - not a destination if you live more than 10-15 minutes away. The parking lot. That's clutch for NP though.

Jade C.

Yelp
This was really really yummy burger! I usually alternate between burger, fries and drink but it was so good that I ate it all! The portion size was perfect. It is seriously a great size patty and balanced toppings. The fries were fresh and not overly seasoned. Pricing is fair. This was takeout so the packaging was good for travel.

Lina P.

Yelp
Very cute spot! Fresh sandwiches besides butcher items. Very clean. Ordered the roast beef sandwich and it was DELICIOUS. I great portion size. Loved their horseradish sauce. Highly recommend.

Brittany K.

Yelp
Tried The Wise Ox after some hype on social media as per usual. The Philly cheese steak is what drew us here and unfortunately they were sold out - will definitely be back to try it! Beef fat fries were so flavorful, and they give you a lot. On the salty side for sure in my opinion. Tried the double cheese burger and the dry aged burger. Both were really high quality and a great size, I couldn't even finish mine. (We did get appetizers from Empanada kitchen first tho) I can see how these could be someone's favorite burger, it just wasn't mine. The people complaining about the wait time, before you even order they let you know how long the wait will be and they stick to it. There's a coffee shop and mini grocery store and Empanada shop right next door, you can pass the 20 or 30 mins very quickly.

Dylan S.

Yelp
This should be a staple for anyone, I couldn't say enough great things about this place. Incredible eats, it always hits. The service is always on point and the food comes out in a very reasonable time. Ambiance is chill, it's a butchery that serves perfect food.

Kenny D.

Yelp
Sandwiches are great, and the fries are outstanding! Service as always good and decently fast, highly recommend!

Mayra M.

Yelp
Wow these burgers were great but the fries were outstanding! We hold their ox club subscription and this butcher is fantastic but today was trying to cure a hangover and grabbed burger and fries along with a juneshine and I'm feelin good! Thanks for the friendly service and delicious food. I'll be back!

Ro N.

Yelp
Beef fat fries fire some of the best fries I've ever had, and the fries balongna sandwich is crazy good. They cut the slices thin and grill them up. The crispiness of the balogna and the mustard gives it the right tang and that melted American cheese ohh we took it over the top. Great food great experience will be back.

Andrew P.

Yelp
The produce here is consistently fantastic. I'm a regular and always leave happy. The staff is not only friendly and knowledgeable, but the Chef and management are also incredibly kind. I recommend the produce and to-go sandwiches. Also recommend checking out the restaurants they are affiliated with. "Trust" is right near by and is a brunch and dinner spot.

James D.

Yelp
How is it that I have never left a review for The Wise Ox? All the blood had left my brain and I was digesting the food. What's so good? The roast beef sandwich. I hereby nominate it as the best sandwich in San Diego. If you have a counter-nomination, let me know. I'm open to trying others :-) I like it with a bit extra of the horseradish mayo. On rye or sourdough. The secret is that the meat s their own product and is most excellent. Excellentest? Yeah, let's go with that.

Yelp
Well after driving by this place for a while now we finally gave it a try. Service was great. We came to try out the roast beef sandwich and fries but they were out of both So we ordered the turkey sandwich and let me tell you this sandwich was on point! The bread was toasted to perfection, the cheese and turkey were of great flavor and freshness. This was a great substitution to what we originally wanted. Give them a try. You won't regret it. We'll be back!!

Yelp
We grabbed coffee at a nearby cafe and ordered an early lunch.. around 11:00 to avoid the wait. Surprisingly, the wait was really reasonable and we had our food within 10-12 mins. We got the dry aged burger, beef fat fries, and the smoked bologna sandwich. I was most excited for the food in that order but I was most impressed with the food in the opposite order. The dry aged burger was fine, but nothing amazing to me... but that smoked bologna was incredible. Maybe it's because I remember bologna sandwiches as sad, weird little bites. This smoked bologna was thin sliced, crispy around the edges, and stacked high. It was a tad salty, but chased with a handful of beef fat fries and it was all balanced out. The bologna made the dry aged beef less interesting. We ended up taking some of the bologna and adding it to the dry aged burger to make the burger less mid in comparison. The bun quality on both items were great.. nice bouncy brioche buns. I'd come back for that smoked bologna!

Yelp
I had really high hopes for this place and they were met ! I had a Turkey sandwich - there was so much meat , the breast was beautifully toasted , packed with avocado. Just great. I got my boyfriend a dry aged burger which he loved, and I got some fries that were amazing , plentiful, crispy , and cooked in animal fat. I also got a potato salad which was again, perfect. It's a small shop, and there might be a slight wait, but they bring your orders out and there's a nice outside place to sit and wait or eat. And honeslty the prices for sandwiches are very reasonable. Can't wait to come back :)

Yelp
Awesome deli/ hot food. Great butcher! We ordered the Philly cheese sandwich and turkey sandwich. The Philly steak was seasoned extremely well and very tender... a little more meat would've made this sandwich a 10. The French fries are fried in beef fat. They offer vast variety of great quality meat. Aged steak, house made sausage and marinated chicken. Outside seating available. A little expensive however you get what you pay for. Must try shop you won't be disappointed. Grab lunch as well as something for dinner.

Yelp
A must try when in SD. Simple and scrumptious. Next door is Empanada Kitchen which is an added plus!
