Inday Acquires Vegetarian Restaurant Chain By Chloe | Eater NY

"Open since 1873, the historic Hedges Inn was the target of a potential takeover by private club Zero Bond, prompting officials to propose restrictions on eating-and-drinking establishments in historic districts (prohibiting staying open after 11 p.m. or serving after 10 p.m.) to make that takeover impossible." - Luke Fortney

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Hedges Inn, and it was an experience to remember! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the incredible staff, especially Kirk, whose warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The inn itself is beautifully kept, showcasing a perfect blend of charm and elegance. Its location in the heart of the Hamptons couldn't be more ideal, providing easy access to all the local attractions while offering a peaceful retreat. Housekeeping did a fantastic job taking care of our rooms, ensuring everything was immaculate and comfortable throughout our stay. The attention to detail was truly impressive. One of the many highlights of our visit was the food. Our meal was a delightful, with fresh, flavorful ingredients and exquisite presentation. The Hedges Inn is truly an amazing little gem in the Hamptons. We can't wait to return and enjoy another stay at this wonderful establishment. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable getaway.

My brother & I planned a surprise 50th Anniversary Cocktail party for our parents at The Hedges which occurred this evening - and it completely exceeded our expectations. Not only were our parents surprised, but Jenny & her tema were in constant communication with us from the start of the planning, 4 months ago. Open bar, passed apps and a raw bar to perfection, plus the venue was absolutely perfect for the 45 guests who attended. The indoor and outdoor spaces were beautiful and we were allowed to decorate as we desired. Its was a night that numbers in the the Top Ten for us as a family and we have Jenny and The Hedges Inn to thank for that. We are so grateful for the memories made at the evening that ensued. Forever indebted, and pleased. Bravo Hedges. Bravo!

We just finished our weekend long stay and I had to write a review. My partner and I stayed here because of the historical attraction but it is beyond all expectations. Aside from being incredibly preserved it is also beautiful. The bed and breakfast was so peaceful, homey and comfortable. Everything from the cozy rooms, kind and attentive staff, amenities, and focus on guest experience makes this the perfect stay. There are towels and beach supplies available for guests, beach passes, board games, bikes, books and much more. The premises themselves provide for ample opportunity to relax and enjoy life. We cannot recommend this place enough The food: breakfast is complimentary and absolutely fantastic. Every day there are different specials and they never fail to be both delicious and filling. Bar none: After 4pm the patio turns into a restaurant/ bar and much like breakfast the kitchen blows it out of the park. The servers are also fantastic. The seafood tower and their wine tasting is a must have. If you are looking for a non hotel experience that is beyond it and much more comfortable, this is the place. Thank you for our stay.

I stayed for a week last month and had a wonderful stay. The grounds and house are beautiful, location was perfect for me as I love the walk to Main Beach along Ocean Avenue and this is the closest B & B to Main Beach (about a mile walk which I do not mind as its one of the most beautiful walks to a beach in the U.S. ) Jenny and her staff are friendly, attentive and made my stay like a home away from home. I felt like one of the family! The house is well appointed with spacious living rooms, studies for relaxing, working or enjoying a glass of wine after the beach and an honor system bar which I appreciate (they are counting on the trustworthiness of their guests). What hotel would ever allow you to serve yourself at the bar and without some form of payment? The room was plenty for me and the decor was lovely with a beach theme. Entire property is immaculate, spotless clean. Breakfast everyday was exellent and Jenny makes sure there is something for everyone. Yogurt, fresh fruit, wonderful berries, smoked salmon, bagels, pastry and a choice of one of Jenny's delicious entrees. The casserole of eggs caprisse was delicious. Overall, a great stay and sad to leave. Will be back very soon. I love East Hampton and have been coming out for 20+ years. All my best to Jenny and staff and Love to EH!

Great service! The staff is awesome! One person was better than the next. The breakfast was fantastic, and eating out in the courtyard was magical! I met Adam who is in charge of the bar and can’t wait to have dinner at the new restaurant here next week!!!!

This was our first hotel stay/ weekend escape from the city since Covid began and it was absolutely wonderful. Jenny was a fabulous host and was super helpful with recommendations in the East Hampton area. The breakfast was still really yummy even with the covid restrictions and everything was super clean/ individualized so there was no concern about sharing germs. We felt that the rooms and common areas were really clean and had no concerns from a health perspective. If the Hedges Inn was this good of an experience during a pandemic, we will definitely be be back!

The Hedges Inn is absolutely lovely. We stayed for a long weekend in September. No crowds, the beach to ourselves and a great experience at the Hedges. Jenny and company do a fabulous job. Everything was spotless and they have anticipated all your needs i.e. beach towels, beach chairs, bikes etc. We had a small kitchenette in our very comfortable room with a private bath. Delicious continental breakfast. The grounds are so well maintained. Overall, a top-notch experience!

We had high hopes for our weekend at the Hedges Inn after reading wonderful reviews but ended up very disappointed. While the inn is lovely and the location is great, the service was sub par. We arrived at the check in time of 3 pm, allowing ourselves time we needed to rest a bit after traveling, and to shower and dress for an event at 5 pm. Our room was not ready and while we understand the challenge of being short staffed, it was not ready until 4:30 pm! In addition, at check in we told the receptionist that we would be departing at 5:30 am on Sunday and asked if we could have a “to go” breakfast packed. She assured us that she would contact the manager and thought that was doable but we never heard another word about it. We did have breakfast “in house” on Saturday morning and again short staffing was clearly a problem. We arrived at the start time of 8:30 am and very little of the buffet was set up. We appreciate that the person on duty was doing his best but honestly at the rates for a stay at the Hedges the short staffing issues were unacceptable to us.
