12 Best Pubs & Restaurants To Watch Football - London - The Infatuation

"Part old-school boozer and part brilliant Thai restaurant, The Heron is a go-to spot for a combination of football and food. The upstairs room of this Paddington pub is reassuringly familiar: full of brown wood, TV screens, and the sense of hope and crushing disappointment that only football and mediocre lager can bring. The downstairs restaurant meanwhile, well that’s a different story. It’s full of vibrant and fierce Thai food in a big, comfortable, dining space." - jake missing

The 11 Best Thai Restaurants In London - London - The Infatuation

"There’s something uniquely British about a brown wood, burgundy-hued, bungalow pub in Paddington. And so too is its excellent combination with excellent Thai food. Fierce, sour, and spicy seafood salads will do their best to keep you warm, but if not, an enormous bubbling tom yum will do the trick. It’s the perfect spot for a big group celebration, with its whopping pub garden—even if the karaoke and eccentric interiors of the past are no more." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing

First time visiting here and I can honestly say I was very impressed. I've been told so many times to come here, but never found the time until now. The decor is very country and rustic, which suits the place perfectly. The food was amazing, and worth every bit of the praise I've been told so much about. The service was very professional, friendly and quick which was lovely, as this is a fine art to get all 3 of those qualities right. Even though this was a Thursday night, the place was quite busy and, whilst there was plenty of room inside, there was also a lovely garden with tables and a fantastic seating area on the river bank to watch the world go by. I believe their Sunday roast is the one to have, so this will be for my next visit. There is an area where you can also stay in the motorhome, which I will be trying at some point in the near future, so watch this space.

Stopped off at The Heron for a spot of lunch. Lovely quiet pub by the river. Food was great and there was a lovely young girl serving; very personable. Dog friendly and outside seating with a view across the river possible.

We went for Sunday lunch and booked for 2 with a dog. Reserve your table ahead of time. It's a beautifully situated pub and is well maintained and clean. I ordered beef, she ordered turkey. The food was pretty good and the portions were very fair. The staff were all friendly and professional and deserve 10/10 -special thanks to our waiter, Kyle. If I wanted to nitpick, it would have been nice to choose how I wanted the beef cooked and I'd have gone for medium. What i received was a little over, but the meat was tender and tastey, so not a complaint as such. The Yorkies were superb! We felt the mash was not needed, albeit nice and smooth. We had a lovely meal and would certainly be happy to return next time we are in the area. Many thanks.

A lovely local pub, with great food and atmosphere with roaring fire. We ate here for a birthday celebration, and enjoyed a few starters plus the beef pie, mix grill and fish pies. All fresh and flavoursome. Recommend booking ahead as it can get busy.

Ordered the fillet steak 8oz medium to rare , it came with crispy chips, peas, and mushrooms , plus peppercorn sauce Plus Rib and cajun chicken combo , this came with corn , salad crispy chips, and coleslaw The chicken was very soft cooked really well , the ribs were smothered in bbq sauce and just fell apart as you cut them, The 8oz fillet was cooked to perfection , I used just a standard knife to cut it. It was juicy, soft , hot, and full of flavour , There are a lot of steaks I've eaten that haven't always been the best cuts, and don't stay warm to the last mouth full . This one did . Fabulous 👌 complements to the chef 👨‍🍳 delicious 😋

We had the pleasure of meeting Tracy (who sat next to us celebrating an 85th birthday). Great local pub with a homely atmosphere. Quality is high and the food doesn't disappoint. Kudos to everyone who works at The Heron. A place to visit.

Stumbled on the heron on our way back from the coast. The staff were amazing, fitted us in for Sunday lunch which was the most delicious Sunday lunch I have had in a pub for quite some time. My vegan companion says it's the best she has ever had in a pub. I had the Turkey.
