Being born and raised in the South, I know BBQ - trust that. Now I'm not saying it equates to the "Best BBQ I've Ever Had", but it is a runner up. Based on my recent couple of visits, the ribs were flavorful (even without sauce), tender, and moist, Mac & Cheese, collard greens, & pecan pie are alright to good. However, I'd pass on the green beans - theirs isn't the typical cooked down southern recipe rather a raw, healthy version. The customer service is consistently great. Restaurant interior has a homey atmosphere like that of a backwoods shack. Parking is limited given their popularity unless one goes on an unpopular day/ time. I have yet to try their bar.

April 2025, located a local BQ restaurant that's truly hidden and around the corner from Fort Meade. Went on a Sunday, and it was very crowded, with mostly groups and their children. Some of the food items I requested weren't available due to the brunch menu being effective. The staff stated that around 2 p.m., the items we desired would be available. However, we still ordered nearly everything we wanted. The ribs were delicious, and everything else was good. 4 stars.

Google
Their reputation for quality is well-deserved. The mac and cheese was soooo good! It was creamy and cheesy. Some of the best Mac and cheese I’ve had at a restaurant. The mashed potatoes and gravy were excellent as well. The pulled pork was good but not as moist and juicy as the wings. All is the sauces were excellent. I used all of them for my pulled pork. None of the sauces were overly spicy. The wings were perfectly cooked and seasoned. They were tender and juicy. They were exactly as wings should be! And last but not least, our waitress was very efficient, attentive and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place. They had plenty of food options as well in case you have a picky eater in our family. The food was also priced fairly. My husband and I loved this place.

The Hideaway might be a bit overhyped. Some dishes were enjoyable, while others fell flat. The chicken wings and shrimp & crab dip were definitely the highlights—flavorful and well-prepared. However, the rest of the meal was just okay, nothing particularly memorable. It’s a decent spot, but not necessarily worth all the hype.

Google
It's a big hideaway. Probably a great place for locals, beers and sports. The atmosphere was a little dark but I went at night. My only issue was the quality of the food. The BBQ brisket sandwich was very just ok. The coleslaw side was a thumbnail and the crab fries were packed with too much cream. I'd prefer crab solo at that point. But that was more generous than the brisket amount. I was starving so I ate it. ☆The chocolate cake was exceptional. Real mouse construction. Absolutely decadent and must have with coffee. If they cook up the coffee at that hour. The service was very good. Super nice female bartender. It's just ok. But that cake is in my mind.

Google
Good food with outside or inside eating options. Lots of different flavors of ice-cream cream are available at the desert counter if you just want to stop in. The restaurant is off the beaten path, just like the name suggests. Nice place to visit.

My husband and I went here for brunch today. We used to go to this restaurant decades ago when it was called Jim’s Hideaway. Walking in, we noticed that the dining room we were sat in was pretty empty. We were seated pretty quickly. They seemed to put everybody in the other dining room. I’m not sure why we were exiled! 😂 The decor is a little bit rustic and definitely could use some repairs. We are not huge barbecue fans, but there were items on the brunch menu that we enjoy at other breakfast spots so we thought we would give them a try. I ordered the Belgian waffle, which came with a huge amount of whipped cream. It was a bit too much for my liking. The fruit, candied, pecans, and lemon sauce were good. The waffle itself was cooked fine, but it could have been a little crispy. My husband is a huge chicken and waffle fan and not many restaurants. Serve bone in chicken on their chicken and waffles so he was looking forward to that. Unfortunately, we should have thought about the fact that it’s a barbecue spot. His chicken was not battered and fried. It was Smoked. So, it wasn’t the usual chicken and waffles. If you’d like barbecue, you will probably enjoy this restaurant, whether it be for brunch or any other meal. This is not the spot for us.

Great food and service!!! Our server Julia took great care of us. The ribs, wings, and sides were all excellent! Definitely a great place to check out.

Yelp
I LOVE The Hideaway! This place never misses. I come here all the time, and I leave full and happy every single visit. My must-haves? The wings, Hideaway fries, and those chipotle blueberry wings--they are a game-changer! Sweet, smoky, spicy... just perfection. The vibe is always chill, the service is solid, and the food is consistently on point. Whether you're coming with friends or just need a comfort meal, The Hideaway always delivers. This is one of those spots I'll keep coming back to--again and again!

Yelp
Tried again tonight. Overall B- A for ribs, very good. B for fried chicken, decent, nothing special. B- for sides, mashed potatoes, green beans, collard greens, green beans, decent, but ok overall. Crab soup C, very thick and starchy, not worth the price. Service was acceptable.

Yelp
Great establishment, great food, and great service. Wings were great. Whiskey Salmon was over the top. Smoked meatloaf was excellent.

Yelp
It was awhile since I had been here but my review is still the same. They changed up the bar area a bit though. This was where I had my first smoked old fashioned years ago, so I had to get one during my recent visit. I also tried the "gold rush" (bourbon based) and highly recommend it. We sat at the bar. Service was great. Had to the get their blackberry chipotle wings. Yummy! Tried the jalapeño eggrolls and it was tasty but not spicy enough. I saw when they were making a mimosa tower. I would need a few others to help me with one of those. Maybe next time, brunch here will be the move!

Yelp
We've been to the Hideaway many times, but never for Happy Hour. In a word, fantastic! We loved the burnt end tacos. We actually loved all of it, but the sauce on the tacos was really memorable. Just the right spice! Friendly bartenders made it really nice after a bad day at work and shout out to John the manager who asked us about our experience. We were really happy and will be back to partake of happy hour again soon!

Yelp
I'm not sure how you solve for this particular issue of table management- people linger up to an hour past the last plate cleared. People waiting for a table are told 20 minutes multiple times. We finally left after an hour. That's when one of the employees confided they have a long standing problem of people lingering. Ot frustrates the servers too because they make alot less tips. I guess that means they are great if you can get seated...

Yelp
Great service, quick delivery, good quality, and great quantity. We enjoyed dining here and will be visiting more. Smoked fried chicken was flavorful, my daughter enjoyed her crab dip, and the wings were great too. Only thing was kids Mac n cheese was a bit dry and my younger one didn't quite like it. Overall, great experience.

Yelp
Went here for Easter with my family, a pretty big group of about 15 people. We had a private room to ourselves, which was super nice. The online menu is different from the actual menu, so be prepared. Our waiter, I don't remember his name, but a young black male, is the sole reason for the 3 stars. He was great and very accompanying. He had 20 glasses of water already sat out for us all. He was very attentive and took the time to learn our names. We got multiple appetizers, such as wings, crab dip, fries, crabby fries and some crab soup. Everyone seemed pleased by the apps. The drinks were great and had a large selection. I got a cup of cream of crab soup, which was probably the best thing I had there. The crab dip / crabby fries was 90% filler, NOT much crab meat. Fries are thick and dry. I got the pulled pork platter, figured I couldn't go wrong with that. The pork was some of the worst I've ever had. It was extremely fatty and gritty. The mac and cheese was overcooked and very mushy and sticky. Brussel sprouts were AWFUL with the goat cheese, and had way too much bacon. Overall, not impressed with their food and barely ate any of it. The reason for the 3 stars is everyone else seemed happy, and mostly the SERVICE. Service was on top and the best.

Yelp
I have been here 5 times now. We usually stop in when visiting Maryland. The first visit the food was amazing! Visits 2-4 food was good, last visit disappointing. We ordered the plate with several cuts of meat: ribs and brisket dry. Pulled pork was just okay. Mac & Cheese overly cheesy and mushy pasta. Baked beans lacked flavor. Service was good and the ambiance is typical BBQ. Sorry to say I'm dropping it from our must eats when in Maryland. Gave it a three for service only!

Yelp
I give The Hideaway 5 stars because of the fact that those dang Award Winning Wings (dry hot) are a BANGER every SINGLE time. They are ALWAYS so hot and seasoned to perfection! The ONLY complaint I have is that you can't do an all-flats/all-drumettes order. Otherwise, I will come here exclusively for the wings. Now, I have tried other things here, and lots of them are also delicious, such as the hush puppies, the jalapeno brisket rolls, and the crabby fries. The one thing I would not order again is the mac and cheese. I know it's a preference thing; I just don't like the style of their mac and cheese, and if you know, you know! The staff is always awesome, very accommodating, especially because this place is really popular with military, so more often than not they are dealing with large parties. The place is actually quite large also, so they are able to host multiple large parties at once as well as smaller groups throughout the restaurant. The parking can be a mess if you go at a busy time, but if you don't, the lot has plenty of spots and goes all around the building.

Yelp
Hideaway is still one of my go to spots for family or even date night. There are two sections of the restaurant, if you prefer a quieter table, you can request to sit on the left side. The bar and karaoke night can be fun too, depending on what you are looking for. We stopped in for a late lunch, and super happy when we were seated right away. Our waiter Jason was so helpful and offered recommendations. He was patient as we needed more time to decide on the menu. Our appetizer came out timely and we enjoyed the crab dip. It was smoking and bubbly, so good. They have improved the outdoor seating, looking forward to nice spring weather when we might enjoy sitting outside.

Yelp
I've been here twice now and both times it was great. It's a-bit busy during dinner time on the weekend so I'd come a bit earlier. The food was great, the wings is a must get. The ribs was also good. The chicken is hit or miss though, last time I got it was very juicy. The restaurant has plenty of seats. I'd definitely comeback again.

Yelp
I returned for a karaoke date night, and so I got to see this place at its peak. As big as the restaurant is, it was full. It was absolutely full!! Karaoke was happening on one side, and then the rest of the restaurant was just busy with folks eating and drinking as usual. I would not recommend karaoke as a first date since it's hard to hear the other person, especially if they are soft spoken. But thankfully, she was as enthusiastic about karaoke as me, so it worked out. The blackberry chipotle wings were as great as the first time and I had to try the pot pie -- it just sounded too good! The sauce was creamy and flavorful, and the chicken and veggies all worked very well. I was obsessed with that crust too, mmph! The menu is pretty massive, so I need to work my way through the rest. Karaoke just made this experience so much better. This was one where we had to download an app -- thankfully I already had it. This is truly a neighborhood gem.

Yelp
My coworkers raved about this place and I didn't think it was possible to live up to the hype but the Hideaway did just that! Took the drive from DC and the name is so fitting. This place is tucked away in the back of nowhere. Surprised me when we pulled up but it was busy. There are about three seating areas. One outside, a bar area and a family area. Finding the main entrance was a little challenging as there are three or four doors but I ultimately found the hostess booth. We were quickly seated and Katy C. was our waitress. She was OUTSTANDING and a JOY all night. Ask for her if she is there. My wife and I ended up ordering appetizers. I ordered the Award Winning Wings (Old Bay), and my wife ordered the Crabby Fries as well as the Crusty Georgia Cornbread. The wings are smoked and the meat just fell off the bone. They were nicely seasoned with old bay and were delicious. You get 8. The crabby fries were more than an appetizer. The crab meat is all throughout the fries and there is a good amount. The fries are crispy and the crab really fills right in. This is definitely a shareable dish. The cornbread is probably the best I've ever had. Amazingly buttered, great temperature, MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH. This was so good we ordered two to take home. The fries and wings were enough but I ordered my entree before finishing the appetizers. For my entree I ordered the Hideaway Sampler with a side of collard greens and Brussels sprouts. Be mindful that the Brussels sprouts as a side is an extra $2. I didn't know but would have still gotten them. The ribs were ok. Nothing special. The regular smoked wings are good as well but give me the old bay wings all day. The brisket was GREAT! Nice and tender just how you'd expect. The pulled pork was ok. Once you add some sauce it will do the job. Overall my experience here was GREAT! I'll definitely be going back. Keep up the good work and give Katy a raise. I ended up catching a cramp at the table and she could tell I was in distress. She checked on me to make sure I was ok as my wife was in the bathroom. She made sure I was fine before leaving. Top tier service. Thank You Again!

Yelp
I love the hideaway. It's my go to spot. Especially for take away orders. Especially if you have a trip to go on and don't want to cook. Let them do the cooking for you. The food is delicious. My favorite is the hideaway sampler. You get a variety of everything. I usually enjoy the sides as well. Everyone is very nice. You can order carryout. Or decide to dine in. They also have outdoor dining options available as well as sitting at the bar to enjoy the happy hour specials. Definitely plan on returning. Whenever in the area.

Yelp
I still like this place, maybe for sentimental reasons. I remember coming here with my parents back in the 80's/90's when it was called Jim's Hideaway and they served steamed crabs. They really should do that again. Oh but the parking ... It still has that hole in the wall vibe. Went in on a Sunday craving chicken wings. I really like theirs because I can order them plain with sauce on the side. My chicken sandwich was tasty as well. Our service was quick, but noticed that other tables had more of a wait for food.

Yelp
3.29.24 Why do they call it the Hideaway? Because it's off a beaten path in an industrial area. Thank goodness for the invention of the gps. Hubby and I came on a Friday evening after our friend recently went here and recommended it. Hubby got the Smoked Fried Chicken with mac & cheese and baked beans. I got the Hideaway Sampler which came with 1/4 St. Louis ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and 2 naked wings. I got the potato salad and hush puppies as my sides. Hubby and I shared our entrees. The Smoked Fried Chicken was the winner! It had great flavor. For our favorite side, he liked the mac & cheese the best whereas my favorite was the hush puppies which came with honey butter. They have four bbq sauces including: bourbon molasses, Carolina, Knocked-Up, and Blackberry Chipotle. My favorite was the bourbon molasses. They should definitely sell the sauces. Some of the best I've ever had! Service was fast. We were in and out within 30 minutes. Our server was great initially when taking our order and bringing us our food, but we didn't see her for a while and had to flag her down for our check. Most likely, it got hectic as more patrons came in around peak dinner time. Parking lot was packed by the time we left around 6 pm. There is street parking on the main road. There is a bar and patio seating is also available. My hubby said their smoked fried chicken rivals with the chicken at Smokey Glen Farm in Gaithersburg. Definitely will be back for their delicious chicken!

Yelp
This is EXACTLY what I wanted in a hometown barbecue joint. And this is absolutely my favorite barbecue in the DMV!!! Our server was incredible and brought the best energy. The food was outstanding! Each entree was cooked to perfection. The homemade desserts were wonderful too. I highly recommend the hideaway sampler! The brisket is to die for.

Yelp
Getting in was a little odd. Lots to doors on the outside so we ended up at the end of the restaurant. Service was good. Fast. Attentive. The food looked so good coming out. We got the pulled chicken sandwich and the French Dip. The pull chicken sandwich was OK. I mixed 2 of the table BBQ sauces together. But the bottom bun disintegrated 3 bites in and fell apart. So then I just at the meat. The French Dip bread was good. The meat was a bit lacking in the amount and au ju sauce needed more depth of flavor. The kids liked their meals. We would come back and try other things.

Yelp
I'm not really sure how many stars to give them. I didn't eat in the restaurant. My husband sent me the menu, and I text him what I wanted. He brought home the Chicken Cesar salad like I asked, but when I opened it I immediately laughed! When I read the menu it said "freshly grilled romaine, ..." I thought that was strange, but just assumed it was a typo and they meant the chicken was grilled. No, they literally meant grilled romaine. The first pic is the menu description I read, the second pic is the actual item. They basically sliced a head of lettuce in half and lightly grilled it. The salad was delicious!! I just wished I didn't have to work so hard cutting the lettuce up. I know, I know, but it's been one of those days as a stay-at-home mom, and cutting lettuce just feels like an insurmountable task right now! I still cut it, I was just looking forward to immediately digging in.

Rachel M.

Yelp
Time and time again, my husband and I love making the drive from DC to Odenton for the Hideaway! Traditional southern BBQ and sweet tea. Every menu option is fresh and delicious and we have not had bad service yet. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating and parking!

Yelp
We had a great first experience at Hideaway. We went for brunch. We got great deviled eggs and biscuits as an appetizer. I had the omelet and my partner had the smoked chicken and waffles. There were $6.50 mimosas plus other nice cocktails available to order. And it is dog friendly!!
google avatar

Yelp
Best meal we've had since we moved to MD a few weeks ago. We had the brisket egg rolls and split the Hideaway sampler. Brisket is excellent, same with wings and ribs. Well definitely come back!
google avatar

Mariano S.

Yelp
Went in on a Sunday dinner with a couple of friends. We all had a bunch of appetizers, the ribs were really good and tender, award-winning chicken wings were up to that standard for sure, cornbread was flavorful. Nothing to complain about. Only reason it isn't 5 stars is because we never made it to entrées.
google avatar

Yelp
As an Odenton native, I continue to be very happy with the food at The Hideaway. The brisket is always delicious and my daughter loves the pulled chicken sandwich. At brunch, the breakfast burger is wonderful and the chicken and waffles... yum! Comes with an entire half chicken smoked to deliciousness. No matter what, I always get the side of collard greens. ALWAYS GET THE COLLARDS! They are delicious and have a ton of smoked meat included. The staff is always amazing and I highly recommend this lovely place!

Yelp
Tuesday 6/25/2024 I originally heard about this spot from a Reddit that was talking about the best places in Maryland so I was quite intrigued and interested in visiting this spot. I made an order through toast app and got: smoked fried chicken with Brussel sprouts and hush puppies $24, fatty melt with hideaway fries $19, and the hideaway sampler with baked beans and Mac & cheese $28. I also got a 2 scoop cup of cookies n cream ice cream (from inside) for $7. -The smoked fried chicken was the best item I had. It was juicy, flavorful, and very good. -The Brussel sprouts were disappointing to me mainly due to how many different flavors you tasted and that didn't work out well especially with the cottage cheese so I'd give it a 5/10. -The hush puppies were pretty decent and it actually tasted better without the honey butter. -The fatty melt is a very unique and solid creation that has grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns for the burger. -the hideaway fries were alright but didn't really do anything for me. -the hideaway sampler comes with a smaller serving of brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and 2 wings so that you can sample everything you get. All the meats were moist and extremely tender. *the pork was alright but was significantly better with the sauces. *the brisket was very tender and fell apart easily but it could've been better with some more flavor & seasonings. *the wings were decent but I expected them to be a bit better. *the ribs were my favorite of the 4: they were tender ,flavorful, and really good with the sauces. -the baked beans were a solid 7/10. -the Mac n cheese was the WORST: it lacked seasoning and flavor. -the cookies n cream ice cream was good. -the sauces were solid but my favorites were the blackberry chipotle and the Carolina. Overall, the hideaway didn't quite meet the high expectations I had but it was still a good bbq experience that I would be open to returning to and recommending.

Yelp
Man, I don't know what happened, but I really hope it's a one-off. This used to be the best bbq joint in the area, without question. Their wings were always consistently great and dependable. However, nothing seemed right this past weekend. The wings came out cold. Both sets of orders were lukewarm at best. I chocked it up to the fact that since they're so popular, maybe they've been out for awhile. Then, the brisket and the ribs came - I couldn't believe what I was seeing. They were dry and incredibly tough, especially the ribs. They were dry and burnt to a point where I had to spit it out. The only decent items were the side dishes, including collared greens and the mashed potatoes. I have serious doubts of returning back. This used to be a 5/5 and I was severely disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
Great pecan pie, will come back to try the bbq. Very busy on the weekends but will come dine in another time.

Yelp
Went today specifically for a party batch of wings. I think it sucks that they only wanted to provide 4 small dressings. They should at least have a party sized dressing option. If I put a pan of wings on a buffet, I would expect to be able to put at least an 8oz dip for people to spoon some on their plates. If there were options to buy a larger one, it wasn't offered to me.

Yelp
THE Spot -an unexpected party in the middle of the forest (: . Tues - trivia night Fri - open karaoke - Small parking lot so people resort to makeshift road parking. - Whiskey flights available from their considerable stock - to include Japanese whiskey! Jalapeno Brisket Rolls - a tasty sacrilegious phenomenal egg roll stuffed with delicious brisket (in my asian opinion) - in other words -- ORDER IT (: Crab dip - bread winning, as it was served perfectly warm, soft, and seemingly fresh pairing well with the dip. Blackberry Chipotle Wings - a creative sauce blend I'd of never think of trying if my friends hadn't ordered; good! . We arrived on the early side of 7ish on a Friday to secure parking. First impression was that this random cabin joint was just another country dive bar... I was right, but also so wrong. Food selections impressively delicious and creative, and drink menu pages are filled with a spectrum of inclinations - I was happily surprised to even find Japanese spirits. Going here on karaoke night was/is the right move. Unfortunately no pics for the post but lots of vids for the mems. . trust & try, cheers! (:

Yelp
Unfortunately, my feelings about The Hideaway diminish each time I eat there. So, we went from five stars (forgot to write the review then) down to two stars (Yelp! reminded me). My food the last few visits was pretty dry or overcooked--the Brussels sprouts, especially. And the barbecue was only ok--also a bit dry. As much as I want to support local businesses, I don't see myself going back anytime soon.

Yelp
Great BBQ! The award-winning wings live up to their name. The salmon I ordered was smoky and delicious, cooked perfectly! And the mashed potatoes?? Yummm. Our server was very attentive and the vibe of the place was nice and laid back. I didn't know they did karaoke and live music, so I'll be visiting for that! Definitely coming back to try their other dishes when the itch for comfort food hits again.
google avatar

Yelp
What a wonderful find. Ticked away in a neighborhood is the hideaway. Our granddaughters recommended it and... they were right. Great Barbecue, excellent wings, and for those that crave Brussels sprouts, these are outstanding! More than worth the surcharge! Hungry, do not pas go, just go there!

Yelp
My husband had a work lunch planned at this established for 10-20 people. As we didn't know who all would be able to attend. Our waitress Katy C. was amazing. Her bubbly personality made it easy for us to relax and order at ease. She didn't push up to wait for any one to order, and let us all do our own thing as some of us had to leave early to return to work. She answered questions easily, refilled drinks in a timely manner and was an overall happy presence at our event. I informed her early on in the lunch that I was allergic to nut and she took that very seriously and insured I wasn't given nuts (or meat as I am also vegetarian.) It's one of the few establishments that always make it feel safe to eat at. We will definitely be back. If you go, Ask for Katy! She's a great waitress, and a sweet person! Thanks!

Yelp
Felt like we were driving into the woods here. The soup has lots of crab, the corn added a sweetness, and the old bay added a kick. The bbq sampler was the obvious play. The chicken wing had a great savory seasoning. The ribs were a little fatty but had a sweet marinade. The brisket and pulled pork were average. Hush puppies were sweet with corn kernels mixed in. The collard greens were a little soggy but tasted good. Finally, the knocked-up and blackberry chipotle sauces were great. Solid food, reasonable price, and great service.

Yelp
Came here last weekend for an early Father's Day dinner and was not disappointed. Dry rub ribs were exactly what Dad wanted and they were fall off the bone delicious. The rye flight was fun and interesting. Sides were a good size and very yummy. Service started off strong, but tapered towards the end of the meal. A bit pricey, but there was lots of food. We'll definitely be back!

This food was amazing. Got the sampler with hush puppies and Mac and cheese with NO regrets. Don't be fooled by the lack of more parking and full street this place is massive and had tons of seating.

Yelp
It is definitely hidden away. I wasn't sure where the entrance was, so I parked on the side of the street just to realize I had to walk around to the side. I had to try their famous smoked wings and they indeed live up to the hype! They had this perfect juicy texture and they are a bit pricy, but worth the splurge. The wings are good, but the bleu cheese was also amazing! My husband said that the french dip was okay, but he didn't finish it (he loves my french dip the best). Overall, definitely will return for some wings and drinks.

Yelp
Great customer service here & shoutout to Jeff for being a great waiter; however we never got our military discount & the food here is expensive for the portion sizes ($25 for the few slices of brisket pictured). Overall though very clean environment & it's very calm & chill here. The food taste great but again, wish the sizing was a little more for the price but will definitely come back again!

Yelp
On 8/28/2024 approx 7:15 PM myself + 1 sat at the bar at The Hideaway. Nothing unusual. It was a Wednesday, came after dinner for a whiskey. They have discounted whiskey on Wednesdays. Of course, everyone else had been there for some time. Some perhaps since getting off work a few hours earlier while others on a first date, as was the couple we sat beside. We ordered 2 smoked old fashions and proceeded to destress from a busy day at work and domestic duties. Great and fun conversation with the couple next to us about cars, movies, and other establishments for great food, drinks and vibes. Have a blast! However, at the conclusion of our first round of drinks, before my guest and I were even asked if we wanted a 2nd drink or a meal, we were approached and was told, "I am not serving you guys anymore." Of course we asked, "Why?" very confused. But the only response we got was, "I'm not serving you guys anymore." We didn't argue or demand a manager at the time, it was busy in there. I though I could handle with a call, request a meeting, and resolve this issue. However, my calls have not been returned. Left several messages for Ashly, general manager. Also went on their website and filled out the contact me info with the same request for a call back to schedule a meeting. On one of my follow up calls I asked who else could I speak with and was offered the catering manager, but I declined. Giving Ashley yet another day or two to get back to me. Still nothing, as of today, 9/3/2024 (6 days later). To everyone I have shared this story with, co-workers, friends, and peers, the first question they asked was...... "Was that person "white?" I cannot say how flabbergasted we were that were were essentially being kicked out, and for what we have no idea. I had zero questions. As you can see from my first review in 2017 I have been coming here since moving to the area. This is a place we frequent weekly. If we are not in the restaurant eating with our families, we are ordering The Hideaway on door dash. But that ended on 8/28 with the "I am not serving you guys anymore." At any rate, it afforded us opportunity to visit another local spot where we went to enjoy a second drink, process the injustice, and got lots of empathy from Jessica (bartender at follow up spot) and the customers who all invited us into their "frequented spot." I was able to shake off the horrible experience, thanks to new neighbors, friends, and welcoming neighborhood bar. Very disappointed in The Hideway and I am still open to that in-person meeting to resolve this issue. Heartbroken over whiskey, but never again! PS: I frequent all restaurants in this area and am on a first name basis with them all. I am just very shocked. How I was treated does not fit into the dining culture in the Odenton area.

Yelp
We went for lunch and had a great time. Day drinking margaritas (wife) and gold rush (me) we shared a bowl of cream of crab and she had a salad with smoked chicken and I had the brisket French dip. Everything was really good. We even took a bowl of soup home. Haven't been here for 5 years and we won't wait so long next time.

Yelp
I ordered catering from here for a small party. The packages they offer were very well priced for the amount and quality of food they had. I had several people ask me where we catered form and said they wanted to go there soon. We ordered the pulled chicken, pulled pork, naked wings, and potato salad we also asked for 30 buns, bourbon molasses sauce, and a chaffing set. It was great! The only negative I had was that the buns were a little dry. I feel like I could have just bought kings Hawaiian.

Yelp
The Hideaway is definitely an appropriate name for this place. The first time you go there you may think that your GPS is wrong until you see the packed parking lot. The wings are great. The smoked and fried half chicken is even better. Love the collard greens. They highly recommend the cornbread. It is more of a dense, cake like cornbread than I prefer. Service in the restaurant is great. Friendly staff. This place can get very busy and I have ordered on website a few times to get my Hideaway fix.

Yelp
Server was friendly and helpful, the restaurant was a little loud for my liking and made it hard to hear people at my table talking, but overall a great experience here. I got the nachos were so delicious and a lot more filling than I expected. Other people at my table got the waffled pig and the French dip and all loved their food. Can't wait to be back to try other items on the menu!

Yelp
Omg! Omg! This place is def well hidden. Food was cooked to delightness. I def recommend the stuffed potato! The Broccoli and cheese def the best combo ever ! The wings were tasteful. And hubby brisket sandwich was devoured. The corn bread was also another hit of the night! Good music selection and It was karaoke night! Bathroom is small. No baby changing tables. Over all food was great and our waiter was attentive with great customer service!

Yelp
I've dined here once and had to go twice and I enjoy The Hideaway! The ambiance is welcoming and gives bbq but clean restaurant vibes. The food is very good! The greens are a close contender to my dad's and I almost went back for some more! We also tried the hot dry rub wings which were amazing with the blackberry chipotle bbq sauce. The buffalo wings were a little sweet and not as hot but they were good nonetheless. My boyfriend also tried the cornbread and enjoyed it but said it was a little firm for his liking. All in all I recommend and I can't wait to try the hideaway for brunch next!
