Great drinks and atmosphere; the drinks are very expensive, but they are tasty and boozy. There were only two bartenders working and it was a Friday night so we often had to wait 5-10 minutes to be able to order a drink. Artwork was cool, vibes were immaculate 👌 there is no food on the menu but a couple restaurants next door that are open ~10pm

Google
My favorite neighborhood bar. a HUGE fan of low light, chandeliers and candles and the art covering the walls. Almost every cocktail I’ve had has been delightful and decently priced, can have about two rounds without feeling the sting of the bill. Staff is super chill. Only complaint I have is while I really do love the music they play, it’s a bit too loud. The bar is set up to be more conversational than club and I can never hear what people are saying within changing so I wish the music could be turned down time to time.

Google
We had a great experience here in First Hill. This spot has a cool vibe with a creative cocktail list, a fabulous bartender (Fiona), and Seattle worthy music playing. There is also a collection of beautiful art on both walls.

Visited in Aug 2023 A really great ‘hidden’ bar as the name suggests. My friends and I ended up visiting the place twice during our short stay in Seattle. Really loved the cocktails. My favourite cocktail was the “Seats Way Back” drink. Service was good. The interior artwork on the walls is so good and the place is worth visiting just for that. Definite recommendation for folks living in or visiting Seattle.

Google
We went on a Monday night so it was pretty dead. Super cool art on the wall. 2 drinks was 50 bucks with tip so be prepared for that. But great service, great character and good drinks. Forsure would go back

Jeremy Yowell

Google
Super chill spot with tons of art on the walls and relaxing vibes. The drinks we had were solid, if not a bit sweet, and I was surprised the bar was so empty when we visited. Regardless, we had a solid time and would visit again if I was in the area.

Google
Fantastic old fashion, I just wanted to go hide in a dark corner and enjoy a drink. This place was more than I was expecting. Dark dark dark room with dim candle like lights and wicked sick music that just sets the vibe. The bartender is leaving me be vibing with what appears regulars but I can see she is still looking over the make sure I'm not waiting. Reminds me of my fav pub back at home.

Google
This bar definitely has a mood. It’s very dark and dimly lit, which gives it a fun and posh environment. They have a very good selection of top shelf liquors and it’s a perfect after bar spot with friends or family.

Yelp
Came here with a friend one late night and the ambience is just right. A handful of regulars, dive atmosphere, music not too loud and strong drinks. It's not a secret bar, but it has an unassuming look that I like and can be easily overlooked. Their tagline is "your favorite neighborhood art bar" which is appropriate as the bar is filled with art and decor that gets your attention. Much of the art is for sale, but definitely for someone who has a strong love for it and or deep pockets. The bar has been around since 2005 with an aim to build in the eyes of patrons for patrons. There is a fairly extensive menu of cocktails that carry a pricey tag, but are good. I simply opted for a couple Tom Collins, and it was excellent. Had me walking back kinda sideways. Definitely a gem of a drinking spot, perfect place to close out a night.

Yelp
Came here for a nightcap after getting dinner nearby. The bar has a cool vibe with chandeliers, dim lighting and interesting artwork. I got the espresso martini, it was delicious and well balanced. However, the service was indifferent despite being pretty empty. When we got there, we were confused if we had to order at the bar or a server would come to our table. After waiting for 10 minutes we finally went to the bar and ordered. It took a while to get our drinks too.

Yelp
Picked a random cool looking bar on Yelp as this was my first time in Seattle. Well you all were right, because this place is awesome! It has the feel of a classy speakeasy, but also has an awesome spinning giant disco ball by the bar. The drinks are outstanding and very creative - my favorite was a chai and whiskey drink, which I finished way too fast. The bartenders are clearly talented and you can watch their efficient drink making. They were also very quick to take our orders and take our empty glasses away. The space inside is cozy and appropriately dark. My only small complaint would be that it got quite loud later in the night, which isn't typical for this type of speakeasy bar (or maybe it is in Seattle who knows :P). Loved this place overall and would highly recommend!

Yelp
One of the best bars for me. I tried it last night and loved it. Love the drinks, cozy vibe, and friendly staff. Perfect spot to unwind and chill. Will definitely going back with my friends soon !!

Yelp
We wandered over here for an evening drink while visiting Seattle and staying in the first hill area. It's a cool neighborhood dive bar. Bartenders were amazing. They even tried to make a jolly rancher shot for us. It wasn't too crowded and had lots are eclectic art on the walls. Seems like a local neighborhood hangout. .no music on our Friday night visit but heard they had karaoke on Sunday night. It was the perfect place to catch up with friends for a nightcap.

Samantha P.

Yelp
asked for a closed tab, got my card back, and the bartender STILL charged my card a $100 tip which I didn't notice until a few days later. It was the middle of the day and the bar was not crowded at all. No way she didn't hear me over music or was overwhelmed by a crowd. I suggest you pay cash to avoid this scam.

Yelp
Great place to grab a drink. See you soon. Great art! One of my favorite go to places in Seattle
google avatar

Diana C.

Yelp
The drinks were really good, and I liked that they had several unique options too. The bartenders were friendly and helpful. The bar is quite dark, but it's got a really unique feel with all the art hanging on every possible wall space. You can buy the art too which is really cool! It very much felt like hiding out and having a few drinks!

Karen M.

Yelp
Horrible customer service, the server refused to give us another drink because we didn't tip the first time. We were planning to stay there for a while but that definitely ruined the vibe. I don't recommend, very unprofessional!
google avatar

Anna M.

Yelp
Good service, fun games upstairs. Welcoming crowd and area. Fan favorite for me. Very cozy atmosphere.
google avatar

Sunny B.

Yelp
Bartender refuse to serve us drinks we didn't get and explanation at all she said you figure it out, as we were leaving my friend asked why we wouldn't get served additional drinks and she responded because they weren't get tipped. My friend and I were planning on tipping them as we left and she responded by saying I highly doubt that. I get why she was she upset but tipping culture is out of hand and on top of that her assumption that we wouldn't tip was rude also. Never coming back

Yelp
great art, great bar, low lights. fun date place. Well hidden gem. Draw something on the clip boards.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday night and was able to find street parking easily a few blocks away. It is hard to find from the outside if you don't where it is and that's what makes it cool. There was a door man checking IDs and the inside is dark and divey. But don't call this a dive bar, it is more of a modern speakeasy without the hype. We sat at the bar and there was a DJ spinning. There are some couch seats along the back wall as well. The first thing I noticed was the art that adorned the place. They change out the display every now and then and most of it is for sale. The cocktail menu had a lot of tempting ones, but I was in the mood for beer. There is no draft beer, only bottles and cans. The bartender left us alone for the most part and I appreciated that. We had one drink and left, but the people watching was great! They were having a "sober dance" that night but not a lot of people actually dancing.

Yelp
My friends and I were visiting from California and thought we could use a couple of drinks to relax after a long day. We came across The Hideout and end up loving the place! *Note that the bars now require all guests to show a proof of fully vaccination.* We were a party of four, but the other two friends had to go back to the car to get their vaccination card, so me and the other friend had some extra time to study the menu and chat with one of the bartender a little. Apparently, it was JR's first day. She studied the menu with us and gave us some pretty good recommendations according to what we are looking for. I noticed that she would look at the recipe before she makes each drink. Props to her for taking this job so seriously and making sure that she's making the drink on point. All four drinks in the pictures I included are really good. I don't think I've ever been to a place where I enjoyed every drink that were ordered for the table. Will most definitely come back to The Hideout again the next time I'm in Seattle. Hopefully JR will still be there!

Yelp
We walked 7 blocks uphill to get to this place and then realized it's a "speakeasy". We couldn't find the entrance. I get it, it's the theme... but why advertise if you're going to make it a true speakeasy with no instructions on how to get inside?? There's even a sign outside advertising the business. We searched the reviews and their website and realized we were spending an inordinate amount of time attempting to patronize an establishment that probably doesn't need or want our business.

Yelp
Week 42/52 in my endeavor to try one new (to me!) local spot per week. My little cousin FINALLY turned 21, and we decided to take him out a little mini barhopping experience around Capitol Hill. We started at The Hideout, as he had noticed the bar earlier in the week and was curious about it. Security at the door was kind and was checking vaccination proof even before the mandate requirement of Oct. 25th, which I appreciated. This bar is COOL. Very hole-in-the-wall type, but a little more upscale then that? It's quirky and eclectic with all of the art hung up. And even more fun, it was decorated for spooky season with dim lighting, lots of cobwebs, spiders, etc. It was definitely a vibe. While The Hideout definitely serves up a cool atmosphere, the service left a little to be desired. It wasn't too busy and the drinks took a whileee to get. We were going to go up and get a second round, until we saw that the one bartender on duty was getting a reading done by a psychic that was working at the bar... It took her upwards of 20 minutes, and the line got long QUICK, even though there weren't many people. The menu listed on their website for cocktails isn't accurate (can't remember the name of what I got!), but my drink wasn't bad. It was a play on a mule, pretty refreshing. My husband noted that his Old Fashioned was a little watered down. All in all not a bad choice, I'd come back... Maybe when the psychic wasn't working!

Yelp
Came down to this low key bar yesterday for a drink and I'm totally disappointed! I was surprised by how rude and unpleasant the guy who made my drink. To think of all the good times a bartender surprised and made a nice cocktail for me, this one was mean, the 2 stars is entirely because of him. I asked him if there are any sweet cocktails he'd recommend for me and also added, I'm okay with any kind of alcohol base- vodka, gin/rum. He stopped me in between and asked 'you want sweeter right?' I didn't mind and continued telling him about the alcohol. He stooped me over again and said loudly 'ok I ll make you a sweet drink, im sure you ll like it. It's so good' As I was in a good mood, I didn't mind and was catching up with a friend. To my utter disbelief he made me a mohito and repeated loudly, this is your sweet drink. I was taken aback and didn't know what to say, he quickly gave us the bill, the damn drink was $16, I can make mohito hundred times better than him. First you don't listen to a customer while talking and then give a boring drink, Listen people!

Yelp
Only good thing was the bathroom was cool. We got one round of drinks, not even for everyone in the group, and then the bartender cut everyone off and refused to serve anyone. Wouldn't tell us why or what happened, kept smugly smiling and saying they weren't comfortable. Asked the other bartender if anything happened and he said no, but if that's what the other one said then that's what goes.

Yelp
Let's try this again. This time I'll just talk about how totally meh the whole experience was at this bar. First, it was almost empty last Fri. when we came here. We wanted to check it out 'cause it had karaoke according to Yelp. It didn't and the manager kindly explained why that was over Yelp msg. after my 1st review. Second, the two bartenders working were very disinterested. I asked one of them for a drink from the menu and she looked at me like she didn't know what I was talking about. I was finally able to get her to make my drink after repeating the order multiple times. No biggie. Third, the drinks she made us were very weak and she got my gfriend's drink wrong. This wasn't a huge deal either since she remade the drink. Alas, we just finished our drinks and went off our merry way. This review is merely a precautionary tale. The bartenders might've had an off night. Regardless. I, we, just didn't have a good time at this place.

Yelp
This lounge is super chill. Superb music selection that will have you Shazamming for your own playlist. The drinks are made artistically and professionally, I appreciate that. The lighting is excellent here, dimly lit, red light is easy on the eyes and affords some privacy. Check this lounge out asap.

Yelp
This was an amazing place! True Seattle at its finest! The drinks were excellent and I had the opportunity to have a nice conversation with my girlfriend and still feel appreciated by staff. We felt welcome and always will at this amazing hole in the wall in Seattle!
google avatar

Alena S.

Yelp
Hip spot that looks unassuming from the outside. Loved all the cocktails we ordered and the art/decor that didn't take itself too seriously.

Brandon B.

Yelp
Great spot to meet friends for a drink. Gets busy but the service has been great every time I'm there!
google avatar

Denise F.

Yelp
Found this place whilelooking for what was open around 1 am. Nice cozy place at night and at 1:30 am on Friday it was almost empty. Cocktails are good but the service is extremely slow for an empty house. Aesthetics are on point at night though!
google avatar

Helen L.

Yelp
Not what I expected when I walked in, but the drinks are I had a drink with the word cloud in it. It was so good! My friends enjoyed their drinks too. I saw they do Karaoke too, so we must go back another day. Definitely a gem in Seattle!
google avatar

McKenzie W.

Yelp
Boy was it hard to choose but all the drinks I had were great! Their menu is organized by flavor profile which was very user-friendly. Also, great moody/quirky ambiance. Will be returning.
google avatar

Yelp
Seattle's best kept secret. 1/3 reasons to go to First Hill besides the hospital and Vitos. A good place to take a first date you aren't sure you want to be seen with, or to take an ex you don't want anyone to know you're making bad decisions with. The bar also has a delightful staff and a purchasable collection of local art that is actually good and not just an attempt to skim money off tourists looking to fill thousands of square feet of white walls in their empty McMansions and lives back home. They sell alcohol too!
google avatar

Dylan R.

Yelp
No food. Expensive drinks. If you want a dark room to drink go for it. But I'm a sober companion so not a lot to draw me back.
google avatar

Bryce W.

Yelp
Dimly lit "speak easy." The staff are friendly and helpful. The drinks weren't amazing but weren't terrible. Cool decor but not somewhere I find myself wanting to go to again.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Whether you see it as a bar with an art gallery or an art gallery with a bar, The Hideout is a cozy spot to hang with friends. Be sure to check out the art vending machine! Karaoke is fun here, but they need to find a new location for the KJ and singer as it's right next to the front door Drinks were good but there wasn't much available in the realm of edibles.
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
This is our first visit at The Hideout and we absolutely love this place. JR was super passionate and gave us great recommendations base on what the kind of drinks we like.
google avatar

Pragya A.

Yelp
Ambience and service was great, the drinks tasted great as well. Would highly recommend.
google avatar

Kai Peng L.

Yelp
House cocktails are definitely on the sweeter side, which could definitely be a preference for some. The ambience is nice and mysterious at the same time, note if you're introvert, prepare to rock out your last few dad jokes as you order your 5 steps cocktail and wait for the bartender to prepare them right in front of you.
google avatar

Daquan T.

Yelp
Ever since moving to the city it had been a challenge to find a bar that I can call my home. I had passed by Hideout numerous times for months before finally going in one night. Really enjoy the overall vibe of the place, the artwork on the wall, the dark dimmed aesthetic, the drinks are very interesting, on the expensive side at times but you are going to get great quality drinks. The bartenders are extremely friendly and will give recommendations if needed. The times I have been the place has never been packed which is a good thing in my honest opinion because the overall vibe just seems to be calm and sophisticated which is great when you don't want to be surrounded by the typical bar scene you'd get in Cap Hill. If you were looking at coming in at some point, definitely give it a try.

Ashley L.

Yelp
I like this place because it is pretty cool and has interesting drinks. But whoever is on staff needs to clean the bathroom more. It had a terrible odor!! Also, the hoodwitch in a box thing is so weird and bizarre, unless it's owned by a blank person... anyway.

Joe Z.

Yelp
Great little hide out bar. Drink prices are reasonable. Went on a Sunday, not too busy and the bar tender was friendly and chatty. Love it.

Yelp
Atmosphere: To the theme of the name, it feels like a hideout. The walls are decorated with art that rotates out and showcases various artists available for purchase if one wanted to order more than just a drink. The theme had a classy Victorian feel that added to the darkness of the room and it also felt open and roomy at the same time. Having a good conversation with people there was an easy effort with high ceilings to dissipate the chatter. Service: Amazingly quick, knowledgeable, and professional. There's no wonder why the bar manager here won Seattle's Speed Rack competition. The attention felt individualized even though there were many clients to attend to and the drinks were well created. As my first time visiting, I wasn't sure what to expect upon entering but I felt comfortable as soon as I was greeted. Thanks for being patient with me! Menu and options: Extra star credit goes to the creativity of the menu, artistic theme, the scratch paper to make your own art, the art book from past clients, and the humor and down to earth atmosphere that it all culminates to make a seemingly pretentious place feel like home. It all made me laugh and then deeply saddened in the next instance to read them all. The theme in itself is entertaining to visit as well as the well made drinks and great service of this establishment. Thank you for a great visit!

Yelp
SUCH A WONDERFUL PLACE. - Cool vibe, local paintings on the walls, good music - the Andy Warhol comes with a Polaroid pic - This One: amazing I don't even like drinking and I like this bar Vibe: intimate, pointed, defined, artsy, good date material if you're trying to convince your date you're kind of cool Things it is not: vague, flat, false

Yelp
I was on a hunt for trying out a new cocktail bar and i came across this interesting looking spot. Having driven past this all the time, i only now realized that this was the sketchy spot with all its windows covered with no real signage advertising the place, the only giveaway was a neon sign out front saying "Cocktails" This spot has a speakeasy vibe - dimly lit, interesting decor, with vibey music at a low volume. The cocktails were interesting in flavor combinations, and I was pretty pleased with my drink. Overall, the spot would be a great place to take some friends to unwind & strike up some good conversation, but i find it slightly overpriced for what it is.

Brenda J.

Yelp
If I could give this place a ZERO star.. I would. DO NOT TRUST the rest of reviews. This bar is trash. The drinks are the worst you could ever have. Cheapest tequila and the bartender was rude not welcoming. Looks scary outside.
google avatar

Kelsey B.

Yelp
YES! The Hideout in the perfect HH spot in the First Hill area. As someone who works in this hood I can say that it is hard to find a good spot to just grab a quick drink after work without trekking up into capital hill. Good HH deals and a few snacks. This decor is the place is amazing, walls covered in funky art work and nice cozy booths. Service is quick, prices are just right and a good little place to 'hideout' after a long day at work
google avatar

Nathan M.

Yelp
Very cool artistic bar with tons of art on the walls. Like I mean a lot of art. Nice cocktails and speakeasy vibes too. Nice humans!
google avatar

Audrey H.

Yelp
Super sweet and cozy spot with rad art. The cocktails are creative and tasty, my favorite is the littlespace, hehe. The dim lighting and candles lining the bar are all kinds of romantic and the DJ always knows what's up. Will be back for sure.
google avatar

Trisha F.

Yelp
The Hideout is tons of fun, if you can find it. The small dark door isn't the easiest to find, but I love the speakeasy feel complete with bartenders wearing white collars and bowties. It is dark and there are lots of nice little nooks for sitting. The bar always has plenty of people sitting right at it, which I am not used to. There are tons of varied paintings hanging from every space on the wall. Decor and bathrooms are pretty and fairly clean. I've only been here on the first Sundays, which are karaoke nights. The karaoke guy (Ketten company) is a professional. Good rotation, good sound, great song selection. A good time is always had by all!

Yelp
Great little stop on my way home after work. Julian, the bar manager there knows his stuff. Great service, great drinks.
google avatar

Elyse B.

Yelp
We loved the Hideout! My boyfriend and I spent the day bar and restaurant hopping and this was our last stop on the walk back to the hotel. You walk into a dark dingy bar and it feels like a hideout. Their is local artists artwork everywhere from floor to ceiling and it really makes the place unique. The vibe is on point and the drinks were great. I got the Andy Warhol and it included a Polaroid photo of us to take home (highly recommend this little souvenir). Bartender was fast and friendly. I love myself a good dark bar with good drinks. Thank you Hideout!
google avatar

Alec L.

Yelp
Very rude bartenders. Place has good atmosphere, drinks are good and have fancy ingredients, but if the bartenders refuse to answer any questions about them or look at you like you're stupid, what's the point of ordering a $15 cocktail from them. Person at the door was super nice though!

Troy D.

Yelp
Sick art, good drinks, friendly service. Kinda out of the what it worth it. Big vapoerwave vibes. Read their website about us.
google avatar

Geoffrey H.

Yelp
The hideout is truly a hidden gem if it wasn't for the small sign outside we would not have found the place. Our Lyft driver didn't even know as the building isn't marked just a black door. Lol. Very craft cocktail oriented with amazing art all along the walls. Certainly a place where hipsters tend to flock. Dimly lit I think they only had candles lit. Ambiance was incredible and really adds to the character of the city. There are so many unique places like this in Seattle that I absolutely love. There is a niche for everyone literally. The people are generally friendly but not in a pretentious fake way. Very relaxed and casual as are most places here come as you are and they will welcome you. I found this place on a website that all the locals go to. Glad I came
