The burgers are delicious. Our first time here and we absolutely loved it. The Kraken was large enough to feed 3-4 . We were not disappointed and loved how friendly everyone was.

Great food, good service, and good vibes all around. If you go there for breakfast, get the burrito. You print be disappointed!

It’s a nice bar for a game night or just go get some drinks on the weekends. The food is also really good with a reasonable price! We really like to hang out here. Highly recommend the HD Philly.

Love this place! Great vibe and staff. Go there for their breakfast often since it’s around the corner and I enjoy the house ketchup with a little spice. Stop by and try it out if you are looking for a solid meal.

Service was great, and the food is even better. Parking is okay on the street. You may get lucky with parking in the lot, but street parking is fair. We loved the fries and hot wings.

Such a great dive bar. Food is always on point. They have excellent cocktails and craft beer selections. They show NFL games with a little tag on each TV so you know where to sit to see your favorite team. The best thing these guys do on top of being a great local hangout is "Parents Party" breakfast on the first day when the kids who go to San Diego Unified go back to school. Jello shots, drink specials and full breakfast menu. It's the best party around that starts at 8 am! I look forward to it every year!

Absolutely loved this spot! I looked up restaurants on the fly, as we had just landed in San Diego and were just passing through on our way to Carlsbad. We stopped in and had the best burgers and fries ever! The staff was so welcoming and friendly, plus the service was perfect. So glad we found this spot. We will definitely be back when we visit San Diego again.

The food? Amazing. The staff? Top notch. The perfect spot to catch a Padres game on TV, the traditions they created , the bells and horns! make it so fun! It feels like everyone knows each other, and even if they don't, it still feels like they do. The whole staff seems genuinely happy to be there, and it shows in their service and energy. Special shoutout to Jordan--she's the best! Super attentive, friendly, and makes sure your glass is never empty. It's rare to find service like that these days. This place gives off total Cheers vibes, where everyone knows your name (or at least treats you like they do). -To person who posted that the services was bad, and unfriendly, I'd recommended trying again! everyone has bad days, and maybe something bigger was going on. That hasn't been our experience

This place is such an underrated spot for food! This is our second time here and it gets better every-time. They do Friday chicken nights on Friday! Comes with 2 sides and cornbread. Chicken is so moist and everything is flavored excellent

directly off Morena Blvd is a dive bar that has elevated in class over the years.. pandemic did this place some good and allowed them to expand into another patio area which keeps it from feeling too crowded. There's a solid menu of American food like burgers, melts, and chicken teddies, plus a good brunch menu on weekends! I got the spicy Reed burger which has a "jalapeño popper patty" on top of the beef patty - guys, it's a deep fried jalapeño and cream cheese mixture... it was amazing! it added a bit of crunch, cream, and spice. It really elevated the flavor (and my cholesterol lol). Thankfully I could swap the fries for a salad and that made me feel less guilty for eating the burger. Stop by for a good beer selection, strong drinks, and really good food!

This place is exactly what you'd expect but so much better. Yes it's a bar. It's serves bar type food. But with amazing service and food. Jordan was such a good server. Knew how to recommend food and drinks to me and my husband and was so friendly. We sat outside on the deck but the inside was super cool too. Sparkly walls. Tiki masks. Now let's talk about the food and drink. We got Tecate tall cans. I ordered the fries with their homemade pepper gravy, mozzarella and the home smoked beef brisket. The brisket is PHENOMENAL!!!! The best I've ever had. Husband got the fish tacos. Also excellent. We will be back!

Great service and the food portions are huge. We got to visit on a day that was trivia night. We stumbled to high dive bar and it didn't disappoint! Great atmosphere!!! We will definitely visit again when we are in town again.

I love high dive. Their drinks are great. Their food is even better. The service has always been excellent as well. I love sitting on the patio and bringing my dog. 10/10 recommend.

Pretty good food. $22 nachos and $18 philly is crazy though. Can't afford it. Nice place if you make good money though. Good atmosphere and nice employees.

We probably go here more than anywhere else close by... the burgers here are some of my favorite anywhere! We've enjoyed a steak night from time to time, as well as fried chicken night. We've tried plenty of other menu items that were also pretty good. But the burger is where it's at. Any of them! Service is usually wonderful, there've been a couple off nights - but who doesn't have those... I love the old music videos playing with music that doesn't match up - always good for a laugh. Also, and I cannot stress this enough - the ketchup is amazing! Love our local dive!

Well let's me say If you are looking for The Cheers Environment High dive is the place. They offer a huge selection of IPA and the most popular Game experience for those wanting a sports bar with a home feeling. Our hostess Precious is amazing the Bloody Mary's were the highlight and delicious. The food especially the Philly cheese with generous amounts of fries is a Lotta bang for your buck. Personally I said Precious our wonder hostess chose me Burger and so satisfying Grass fed burger with California cow cheese and bacon with tons of fries.. I reccomend the chicarones with limon... The entire Staff ultra friendly service is sterling so very grateful for the time there. Kind regard's Dr.G

I think this is a 2 star place. It's not my jam. But from what I thought I was gonna see to what I experienced. I'm okay giving it a 3 star. This place is kinda in the middle of nowhere. It's not well lit. It's easy to miss. I feel like you gotta know somebody who knows about this place in order to end up here. I got the vibe that a lot of locals go here. The staff are super inviting and knew that we were new here. The patrons were okay. Some odd looks and some warm smiles. Hit or miss. There is an outdoor patio that shuts down around 10pm on the Saturday night we went (probably due to liquor license). But there is another enclosed outside area that keeps going until the bar closes down. And of course there is an inside area. I've also come here on a Friday night as well as Saturday and it was packed up until 10pm and then everyone sort of cleared out. I came here for drinks and food. Had the Chicago Spicy Beef (which isn't spicy at all). Buffalo wings. Gorgonzola burger. Onion rings. Loaded fries. And of course beer! The Gorgonzola burger was the best thing I had by far. I love wings and the moment I got it, I knew I was going to be disappointed. It would probably be good for those who aren't picky with their wings / have a high standard. The fries were decent. I had the Eppig 10:45 which was meh and the White Dog IPA which was delicious. I hate IPAs but this one was the best one I've had by far. I honestly think if the staff wasn't friendly then it would have been a 1 maybe 2 star place. I'm giving this place a 3 star because they were so nice and the burger was delish. I could see myself coming back again Saturday after 930pm to have a little bit of that rowdiness and energy but then toward the end of that, when it clears out, I can have a more intimate bar experience.

I still LOVE High Dive but paying $15 the other night for 5 chicken strips, with no fries, is where I draw the line. That's basically $3 per strip. It's honestly ridiculous how restaurants keep going up on their prices and don't give you anything extra for it. Sorry, I just can't do it. It's been real High Dive.

Good vibes all around! And my favorite dive bar, as far as dive bars go. ;P Food is surprisingly good. Folks tout of their loaded fries, though I didn't try it myself. Ordered the shrimp taco plate, which were some solid tacos. Very flavorful. They make a mean Bloody Mary. Jell-O shots for $3. This place meets expectations, and more!

chose our seating. food was great! bacon and bleu cheese in my burger. the fries are crispy on the outside and soft in the inside, really good! bloody mary was yummy but it tasted like the cutwater bloody mary. kind of watered down. the service was alright.. staff didn't ask how we liked our food, we were waiting for the tab for at least 10 minutes as well as waiting 10 minutes for them to pick up our tab. they were not busy at all in the afternoon. they played good country music.

I have been coming here for 10 years and absolutely love this bar! I've never had bad service and can always count on all the staff here to make my day better. I work in the area and I love how community oriented everyone is. Desi is such a great bartender she always remembers what I like to order and makes me feel welcome. I love bringing friends here but all of the staff are truly great at what they do. I hope this place stays around so I can keep going for years to come!

Another great brunch at High Dive! Our waitress was attentive, polite, and friendly . Love the chill environment and it's dog friendly. Food was just as amazing as the first time I went here.

I got the high dive burger with fries. You can get a soup or salad at no extra cost. The burger was huge and the fries were truly delicious. Has seating inside and outside, which both have tv screens. Feel free to take your pup here! The staff were all super friendly. The only thing was that the Coke was flat. I find this typical with many bar/restaurants as usually the Coke is mixed with liquor where you can't tell

motorcycle parking is a big plus! This place will be my go to rest stop when I'm riding my motorcycle

This place is special. It's hidden just not so hidden. If you're looking for the casual dine in with no remorse this is this. They have a full menu with eggs Benedict's to a steak. It's a chill vibe with really good service so if you're in the area give them a visit.

This is some of the best bar food I've ever had. The service is great every single time! I been coming here since 2011, I am not a regular by any means. I come in a couple times a year and all the employees are so friendly and have been great at their job every single time. I cant say that about too many places. If you're not sure what to order the servers give really good recommendations! One of the items I always get are the gravy fries!!!

Patio area nice comfy spot to chill unfortunately my sandwich has way too much fat I wish I read some of the reviews before wasting money. I would not recommend this place not sure the quality of food maybe a great drinking place but not for food. I heard the owner Ingrid gives back to the community breast cancer awareness contributions from sales this is what prompted me to go this was a conversation I had a while back but didn't go until now- perhaps she is no longer the owner and this one uses less than cuts of meat then she did or diff chefs? Too bad I just moved close by....

This place had some character! They whole place was decorated with unique and eclectic items. Honestly, the woman's bathroom is a must see, I thought it was quite funny. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. I wasn't drinking at the time and they were very accommodating and made me a delicious virgin drink. This bar is very chill and it really felt like it was filled with locals. There is inside seating but the music was quite loud so I sat outside. The outside seating has some fun string lights and they got heaters. They also had some pinball machines so that was fun.

High dive has been a reliable bay park spot for a long time now, and it's always a decent choice! They have a great trivia night, fun staff, plenty of seating, and a decent amount of street parking. It's typical bar food with generous portions and reasonable prices. The loaded fries were huge and we added the meat to make it a bit heavier as an app. Lots of IPAs on tap, and decent cocktails too. TLDR; standard reliable bar fare, friendly staff, great trivia night!

If I could leave 0 stars I would! The bartenders were so rude it was absolutely ridiculous! I've never met more people who hate their job more than the 2 people behind the bar. I hope they find happiness in life

I came here during the afternoon with a group of friends specifically because it was advertised as a Dive Bar with class. We had a great time. The food was really good. My friends were raving about the birria. $5 beers were good, too!

Visiting San Diego this past weekend and meeting up with my long time friend. He recommended this place cause it was on the way to the airport. Place gives you definite dive bar vibes in a Cheers settings. Place was filled with locals enjoying a San Diego morning. Got there early and our waitress greeted me quickly and took my drink order as I was waiting for my friend. Ordered the moco loco breakfast-food came out hot and was very tasty. Got the chance to catch up with my friend and noticed how busy the place got but the patrons were greeted quickly and lead to a place to sit. Have lived in CA my whole life - driven past this place but never tried it. It is truly a great local place and will make a point to visit again.

Went on a Friday night and it was hopping! They play the music a bit loud so it's probably not the best spot for an intimate conversation, but we enjoyed the lively atmosphere. They have a lot of different beers on tap and the cocktails I tried were tasty. We sat at the bar and had good service despite how busy it was. We shared a burger and a sandwich - I can't remember which ones but the portions were appropriate!

Food and service is always great! Drinks are spectacular as well.... recommend the Mamasita and Mai Tai

We've been coming here for a few years and tonight we were very disappointed with the wings. They used to be flavorful and juicy. What we received tonight were all flats, dry and tough "wings". We asked for a mix of buffalo and teriyaki and received all teriyaki. We won't be coming back.

The first time I came in, found this place by chance. Planned to go to another bar but it was closed for private event. High Dive was a great find! Second visit, stopped in after picking up my nieces from the airport. We had a little bit of everything and all was good. Drinks were delicious too. To be honest there wasn't anything we didn't like. We sat on the patio since it was a little loud and crowded inside. It was chilly out but they turned on the heaters. We were comfy and full of good good and drinks. Exceptional service from extremely friendly and happy staff! Will definitely come again.

Good food and service and regulars and guests are treated well. Fun place to hang out and watch a game and enjoy good food (except for the coffee). The Loco Moco was surprisingly tasty for a bar & grill and all the breakfast plates I saw looked delicious. My friends are regulars and enjoy their meals every time. Indoor and outdoor seating and it can get a little loud once the place fills up.

I went here with friends for dinner. They claimed the burger was great and the vibe was cool. The vibe was cool but the burger patty was super dry and tasteless. Maybe, it was an off night.

They're an Eagles bar and I'm from Philly so that makes me happy. I like the bar, the decor is cool. Kinda divey, kinda not. It's a nice place to grab a drink but there is something missing here. Maybe it's because I'm almost 40 and the crowd here felt a little on the young professional realm. I dunno. Vibe was off and the food was OK. Going to try again and will update my review.

This place was just about what I expected it to be, a fun sports bar with okay food! They had amazing drinks though! I'm still giving it five stars because it met all my expectations. I didn't come here looking for a five course meal, I came here to have a fun time, and that I did! The staff were really fun, and also very encouraging when it came to shots. I can around Halloween, and I loved seeing the place all decked out, and they even had really fun Halloween drinks. Drinks are reasonable priced compared to other places, and their drink menu is quite extensive! I'll be back when there is a fun sporting event or something!

The best dive bar in San Diego! The vibes are always good, the beer is cold and they have good food too! The chicken tenders, pretzel, and chicken sandwich are some of my favorites.

A "dive bar" in disguise. Older building with great eclectic decor. But that's where the "dive" part ends. Great friendly service, delicious food and tasty cocktails. The real giveaway that it's not a "dive bar" are the spotless up-to-date rest rooms.

I know it seems odd to rate a dive bar with 4 stars, but... Imagine if you will..a burger...topped with a patty of cream cheese and jalapeño (think giant jalapeño popper!)... And a side of perfect crispy battered fries. I came, I experienced it, and I will be back! Great bar food menu, great selection of local brews, patio next to the freeway...what more could a divey joint offer?!? Ambiance is astroturf biker bar, service was a bit high, and prices are...ok. This would have been 5 stars if the burger wasn't over cooked, so there is hope!! This is our new go to dive bar...this joint makes the list!

I came here for a work event to gather with my coworkers before the Gulls game right before Christmas. They were jam packed that day for reason that I don't remember. It might've been because of the Gulls game and another nearby brewery closed down or it might've been Ballast Point closed down for an event. I don't recall. However, I do remember ever so clearly the service received this night which was horrible!!! A server was nowhere in sight, we waited 30 minutes to order, the drinks took 45 minutes to come out, and do I really need to tell you how long it was until the kitchen foods came out?! Ridiculous! I understand busy nights and understaffing, but 2 hours waiting on someone to check up on you, for drinks, and for food is a bit excessive for me. I most likely won't be back, but also due to the area. It's in an unincorporated area that has residential surrounding/on the main road/near the freeway.

I didn't eat here. This review is for the ambiance and service. I hated it. It was impossible to get any service. The staff was doing shots while ignoring our group and the entire place, at the bar. Getting hammered was clearly their priority, in that regard, they should give themselves five stars. They were killing the game with that job function. It was pathetic. I would never come here again. One extra star for the Tatis/tongue wallpaper in the women's. Someone had an aggro moment and defaced his crotch. I thought that was weird and kind of hilarious at the same time.

Food was very good. Ambiance inside had music (patrons selection) which we didn't enjoy, so we sat outside. It was a very hot day but there was a good breeze and the patio is shaded well, so it was very nice.

I've heard good things about the High Dive and finally found time to get there with a friend. SDSU was playing, so it was pretty busy but not overly crazy. We shared the Bavarian pretzel, which was delicious as were the fish tacos my friend ordered. My Chicken Tenders on the other hand were not very good at all. The batter had far too much flour and they were so extremely dense, they just were not good at all. Why the 1 Star review? Service! I ate 1/2 of one tender and set the plate to the side of the table. The waitress took my plate ... no question as to if I liked it or not. When she came by again, I did bring up the fact that they were not good. She apologized but there was no offer to make it right, she didn't ask if I wanted something else instead ... nothing. My friend gave his credit card to settle up and guess what was on the bill!?! Yup, the chicken tenders. That's why a 1-star review. Don't charge people for bad food that they didn't like or eat!!!

East street parking. Good atmosphere, very pleasant service. Gorgonzola Burger was very good, served with a mountain of seasoned fries. Good craft beer selection. Look forward to my next visit!

Food and service was good only down fall was the aggressive dog standing in the entrance and dog hair everywhere on the deck. Vacuum that crap up!

Looking for a Sunday brunch spot and discovering that our original destination wasn't quite open yet, we came across the High Dive on accident and happened to stop in. Their Bloody Mary's here are pretty delicious as well as the Loco Moco (Moco Loco). Both of them hit the spot. Employees were cool but a little too crazy for a Sunday am. They had bingo going on but I probably would have saved it for a little later on in the day since most people are still just waking up and don't need someone with a loudspeaker calling out bingo numbers lol. Overall, I would probably come back here for Happy Hour or similar, but not this early.
