The Historic Green Manor Restaurant

The Historic Green Manor Restaurant delivered the perfect Thanksgiving celebration. Every dish was cooked to perfection—the cornbread dressing, turkey, ham, collard greens, yams, fried okra, shrimp cocktail, potato salad, all of it. The customer service was impeccable and the staff was incredibly friendly. I also loved that after eating, they let you walk through the historic home. The cost was very reasonable, and there was plenty of parking. I forgot to ask about a military discount, but overall the experience was a complete success. Five stars from me. If I don’t cook next year, I’m definitely coming back.

It's been years since we last visited the Manor and the good taste as favorable as the last time. We arrived about 1p and even though the church crowd was coming through we were seated immediately as it was just the 2 of us. It's a "must visit" when we visit the area. Karla did an excellent job keeping our drinks refilled and as the rest of the staff they worked as a team to keep the functionality of things running smoothly.

Expansive southern buffet selection in a historic Union City mansion. Good customer service and several rooms to dine in. The food lacked seasoning, but was hot and fresh. The sweet tea and peach punch were delicious. I plan on returning for another try in the near future.

I've been meaning to write a review every time I come. It's one of my father's favorite places to come (all you can eat soul food). He doesn't have to worry about the food being over season and messing up "his numbers." They have everything you need to get the taste buds flowing if you need it, but I enjoy eating it as is. I want to stay high blood pressure free! Every time I go, it's the same menu. They have a hot bar, cold bar, and dessert bar. I always forget about the shrimp in the cold station bar. I'm usually too full to eat them, but for those of you who enjoy them on your salad or a dish on the side, have at it! I enjoy seeing most of the same faces every time I show up. Mrs. Lisa is always walking around greeting everyone and making sure you are satisfied throughout your dining experience and NOT just at the end when it's time to collect the bill. I enjoy having small talk with her. This is another place that I've been coming to since I was a young girl and have had the pleasure of celebrating many family moments here. You can bring in your balloons, gifts and cakes to make your celebration special. It's plenty of free parking....they even let you park on the lawn when it's extremely packed. We love sitting out on the extra large porch and talking amongst ourselves and to others. Wheelchair friendly! Every time they put the fried chicken out, the wings are the first to go! I have a few pictures, but forgive me for waiting till closing to remember to take pictures. I had to ask the staff to hold on while I snapped a few photos. I was too hungry when I first sat down. We went Father's Day of 2025. We had reservations and were seated at our table early! I'll take better pictures of the food next time.

When I say that the food was absolutely delicious!! Oh my goodness!! I thought that my grandmother was un the back. Southern cooking at its finest.

We're in town for a concert and looked up buffets. This place came up and We're so glad we did. Many regulars came in,southern hospitality. Staff all said good morning. Food was fresh. Our glasses were always kept full. Table was cleared often. Our waitress was fantastic! And we got to walk around and check place out. Beautiful place. I highly recommend!

My family had dinner there today. Overall it was good. I really like the different dining areas. The server in our area needed help. The food was good. I would probably not get the fish. It was dry. The desserts, I'll pass as well. The question is, would I go back? Yes I would. The food in general was good.

The restaurant what's quaint and cozy, however it was a limited choice considering it was a buffet. The fellowship that we had was nice and the fact that we had our own dinning area.

Hidden gem in Union City! We stopped here for a quick lunch break for work - the food was delicious, quick to be seated and offered beverages. The restaurant reminded me of a stop at my great grandmother's house! The selection of food was surprisingly vegetarian friendly with sides, a salad bar and cream of squash soup. Finish off with a generous serving of warm banana pudding to take a great meal home.

Sit down or to go soul food on the south side of Atlanta (Union City). Went for the Sunday buffet. Staff was very friendly from greeters to servers. Went later in the afternoon so cannot speak to the crowd as although just about every seat seemed to be taken the buffet line moved fast. I did expect more to be on the buffet but it covers the staples and offers enough food options. The fried chicken, dressing and Mac and cheese are standouts and delicious. There are small dessert and cold salad/fruit stations. Offers a to go option by the weight. They offer small and large rooms if going with a group or you want to reserve for an event.

Great customer service. 28$ for the buffet which wasn't terrible. The food tasted good. The fried and grill chicken was delicious, Mac and cheese was ok. The menu was limited. Would have love for them to add some items like ice cream and more meat options than just fried chicken and grilled chicken and add to the dessert menu as well. Cornbread was absolutely terrible, the peach punch was delicious. This place definitely gives off old plantation vibes. Would recommend going if no other option is available.

Delicious soul food buffet. I should say Southern cooking. Sundays are my choice because they serve every choice from the buff that day. Southern charm with an excellent serving staff. The hostess is always on point with your needs. Go early on Sunday before the church crowd comes! Don't sleep on the squash soup! The fried chicken is right!

Love this place. My mom wanted to try this place, it was on her bucket list. We made the trip over and told my siblings. It became our place. Mom had passed but my siblings and I still frequent this restaurant. Great food, clean buffet and nice staff.

This is the best kept secret to this Californian. Just a few miles from Douglas, GA this historic restaurant was full of great southern food and history. The service was amazing but the food was even better. I would hands down go back and tell a friend.

Good southern food! Not the healthiest place but if you want a good quantity that taste like grandmas cooking, this is the spot.

Overrated! The peach cobbler wasn't real peach cobbler and the food was much to be desired.

I used to swear by this place... I'm not sure if the chef changed but the fried chicken has been off my past three visits! Mac and cheese is different was a little watery. The chicken used to be sooo good I could eat it without hot sauce. But now you absolutely need hot sauce... I told my family that If the chicken wasn't right on my third visit I'll no longer return. Unfortunately, I have to say Goodbye to good ol Green Manor!!

The food is always amazing! The service from the time you walk to the time you sit down is always great! Everyone is so nice! I love this place! I would recommend anyone to go The ambiance is always wonderful! Please make sure that you don't past it because I just look like a house! I've been many times with coworkers, friends, and family!

Very disappointing experience. The food was super bland and the service was horrible. Most of the staff members were a bit rude in how they spoke to us. From the time we walked in they were rushing us to hurry up and eat. We'd called ahead and told them what time we would arrive and when we got there they claimed they had no seating. So we sent in a different family member (using a different name) and they were given a table right away!! I will never return.

The food was awful. Service was on point but food, nope. Ever since Blue Willow in Social Circle closed been looking for a spot, guess I'll continue to look. Awful

This is a buffet style restaurant located in the Union City area. The ambience is a strong no for me. It feels very much plantation, master vibes. The food was horrible and it looked horrible but it may have been the day I came was a off day.‍ maybe they were going through a transition or the good cooks were off that day. In any case, I will never patronize their establishment ever again. I don't remember the service being bad, but I also don't remember it being good so.... I had weird vibes from the moment I walked up to the front door to the moment I paid for my food and left.PERIOD

Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. One of the many reasons I miss home! There was a glorious spread of all the fixings and meats you could want. The staff were awesome and followed all safety protocols. I loved that they offered a gloves and sanitation station before fixing your food. The plates were kept hot to maximize sterilization (another plus for me) I def see myself returning in the future for breakfast!

This place is worth the drive! We live 45 min north and enjoyed the visit. Arriving when they opened at 1130 on a Sunday meant we were joining a line on the porch. It was no issue as right at 1130 the line was moving and we were seated right around 1140. The buffet is stocked with a ton of veggies - greens, green beans, corn, carrots, yams and of course the salad bar. Then comes the southern main dishes - roasted ham, chicken, fried chicken, and fish. Some delicious soup and rolls and cornbread too. Finally, a tremendous array of southern styled desserts. I liked the banana pudding most. The the restaurant staff are attentive, professional, and sweet. The buffet is attended to the entire time - cleaned, refreshed, etc. they ask people to sanitize and use gloves. All good - all around. Go hungry and leave full!! I skipped breakfast, had for lunch, and won't be needing dinner. :)

Historic home turned into a buffet style southern soul food restaurant! The food is the star of the show followed closely by a warm friendly staff. Try the peach punch their signature drink! Their buffet offers all the expected dishes and I found most to my liking. I come from southern roots so I know good southern food when I see and taste it! My favorites - the greens (they were a bit more stemy than I prefer) - the Lima beans - candied yams with apples - fried chicken The ham was a lil too sweet for my taste and the Mac and cheese somewhat bland. You'll also find green beans, corn, stuffing, baked chicken and fish along with tossed salads (pretty basic) potatoe salad - which was good even tuna salad! Cornbread or dinner roll and a variety of desserts. I tried the peach cobbler and it was good - a lil more cinnamon than I like but definitely of the southern flare. The house is packed with history and feels like grandma's place including a full front porch with swings and rockers. They can handle larger crowds but I'd definitely make reservations for more than 4-6. We'll definitely hit this place again when visiting in the area

When visiting Green Manor , you'll truly feel Southern charm and genuine hospitality ! On holidays the buffet line is delicious Mustard greens, cornbread dressing, yams , hams ....everything you could want in a southern feast!!! The desserts get a to go plate ... trust and believe you wanna return again !!!

This is an historic home that is a restaurant and also does weddings on Sat. They have great food and if you wanting Soul Food this the place to go. Including tea and they have great Peach Punch. They don't take reservations unless it is holidays. The price is reasonable is $25 per person and it is all you can eat buffet.

Historical building and feel. Food is southern comfort food that will certainly satisfy. For a Buffet style place it is top notch, but it's just missing something. That something for me is value - at $20+ per plate it's a touch less of a value for flavor ratio to me. But if price is a bit less if a sticking point for you then it's certainly worth a visit.

Great customer service but the food was not good at all!! No seasoning in the vegetables everything tasted was very bland. I understand the concept of seasoning to your own taste but at the very least you want to start off with a lil bit of seasoning. Will not be returning no time soon.

This was the highlight of our short 2-year residency in the ATL. They have the very best fried chicken in the world. We enjoyed eating there often. If you are anywhere near, it's worth the drive and the traffic to come and enjoy their oh so delicious brunch. Everything on the menu is yum yum yummy...I'm so serious. And they have great southern customer service hospitality. Let's not forget the lovely Georgia porch!

The food here is really good...however don't forget what this place represents. They used to have some racist patrons Come thru that would look at black patrons a little crazy and make slick remarks!

I've visited once during a buffet and found it to be a pleasant experience. The dessert, peach cobbler I believe, may have been my favorite delicacy here. Will have to try it again.

This place didn't look like much at first glance, but it WAS Sunday and the family wanted something new and we were hungry. Once inside the place had a "Sunday dinner and moms house" kinda feel. Tables lined with cloth coverings, silverware and cloth napkins, in beautiful rooms full of natural light wood floors and why looked like the original fireplace for the home. This is not your typical buffet style restaurant. This is a home cooked meal Grandmaw's cooking kind of restaurant. The atmosphere is laid-back people in jeans and a nice shirts women in pretty dresses or skirts and pants themselves. A place full of children and families , church goers or those just looking for a home cooked meal. if you're looking for a nice restaurant to take your family try this place you won't be disappointed.

I came back here for the fourth time and it was a great experience. They are allowing you to serve yourself on the buffet if you wear your mask and wear gloves. Today I had quite a variety for Tuesday lunch. The best things were the meatloaf, pineapple glazed ham and marshmallow cake. There were a few disappointing dishes like the peas and tomatoes, cornbread, and peach cobbler. Our waitress was awesome and so friendly, she has been working at this restaurant for over 20 years. Overall I really enjoy this restaurant and you can certainly get filled up with some delicious soul food.

The food is delicious! I was hoping to see a ghost while there . Nonetheless, service is okay... tends to stay crowded (I haven't been since the pandemic started, so I don't know the volume now)... my only thing is since it's an old house, it has that old house smell, and I don't like stenches while I'm eating... other than that, the food is great.

We had a wonderful Sunday meal. Both the baked and fried chicken were moist and tasty. Yams and mac and cheese were excellent as well. Enjoyed waiting on the beautiful porch and watching the traffic on a Sunday afternoon. Will definately come back again should we be traveling from the Atlanta airport.

Wow! How have I not been here before? What a hidden gem. This classic place in a old super cool house was great! My family had a get together here. The buffet filled with southern food was amazing! I consider myself an expert in southern fare. And this was some good cooking! Great fried chicken, fall off the bone ribs. and even good fish! All the sides were good. I really enjoyed my meal! Pair it with a great staff and it was a great experience!

Came here on a Sunday as I wanted to be able to enjoy it and spend time soaking in the southern charm and good food that people mentioned on Yelp. The food is okay. It's buffet style of various foods. Not really breakfast but soul food buffet. The chicken (fried and baked options) had good flavor. I love yams but I wasn't impressed with theirs because it lacked flavor. The mac and cheese and other sides were okay. The potato soup and the potato salad were good. The dessert table items were just okay also. I tried the pineapple upside down cake and the cobbler. It's overrated. I prefer Busy Bee or even Mary Mac's for southern food but if you don't want to go downtown, I guess it's worth a try if you want down home southern cooking. Only reason it's a 3 star is because the staff is very friendly and nice and I like the old charm decor of the place. Food is just okay. Not for me though.

I was invited to dinner at this establishment. I have heard many good things about them about the house that this restaurant sits in as well as the Southern lifestyle it portrays. When we arrived I felt like I was on an episode of Gone With the Wind almost. The best thing about this place is the huge wrap around porch. It's the best thing to sit on while waiting for your table. The porch has wicker tables and chairs for you to sit on while waiting to be seated. They serve lemon infused cold water outside as well. You can smell the food cooking as soon as you embark upon this place. The tables are set as if you are eating for Sunday Dinner. The food is buffet style. This Sunday they had Assorted salads. I was impressed with Brussels Sprouts Salad and the Potato Salad. The hot buffet had Fried Chicken (all pieces), Ham, Grilled Fish, Dressing, String Beans, Greens ( they were just as good as mine and I'm picky about greens, fresh no can stuff) Sweet Potatoes and Apples, Pinto Beans, Rice, Gravy and something else I can't remember. Desserts were peach cobbler, Banana Pudding and some type of cake. I was so stuffed .Got my money's worth though. The staff is friendly and pleasant and they constantly refill your glasses and remove plates. They are also constantly refreshing the buffet putting out new pans of food and cleaning the table. Always a plus.

When I visited my grandmother (many years ago), Sunday afternoon was spent over indulging in fried chicken, southern vegetables and deserts. The Green Manor has her recipes. In a historic home, the dining areas are spread throughout the mansion in different living spaces. The individual buffet stations are set up for soup, cold salads, hot vegetables, main dishes, hot and cold deserts. Beverages include southern staples (sweet tea) and classics (peach punch). A large, enclosed porch is a great area for a large group and can be reserved. The Historic Green Manor is a great place to explore/rediscover a classic southern meal from the past.

Ok once you get past the history of this place you love the food. I'll just be totally honest, everything was good. I really only took one picture of my 1st plate out of the 3, lol. Perfectly done, prepared. Our waitress was the best. The one thing I will recommend is the Mac & Cheese. This is good ole gran ma made stuff!!! So yes it's a place I'd go to at least once. I love eating here, this place is amazing if you are visiting and looking for a feel of the small hometown south, the house is in a beautiful mansion. The decor reminds me of old Victorian glam. The beverages are sweet tea and lemonade, the restaurant is buffet style. Now let's get to the meat and potatoes literally, the crispy fried chicken skin is amazing. The pot roast and the sides ranging from southern style collard greens to sweet potatoes with that crunchy glaze, all of these items are so savory and delicious. They bring your selection of breads to the table. The dessert well Let's just say please save a little room because you will go twice for the pudding I promise

I love this place. I recently visited beginning of sept but before then its been about 10 years. The fried chicken wasn't like it was 10 years ago but it was still ok.... everything else was the same or better. The rib tips was amazing!!!! The mac and cheese was really good and the greens was really good too. Thats really all that I came for and all that I cared about. Oh and the yams which was ok as well. I will definitely be flying back here for them damn rib tips and this time I wont be on a diet

We went during the winter months and look forward to seeing the property during the spring. Our favorite room was the sunroom. The home is gorgeous. Although it is served buffet style, there were no shortcuts cooking. The food is wonderful. The peach punch is uniquely refreshing.

Great Sunday restaurant! Always packed on Sundays. Arrive before 1:00p to beat the church crowd. The ladies/host are accommodating with helping to find swift seating. The food is good and sometimes great. The price of food went up so will the pricing, be prepared! I usually visit quarterly to the restaurant... Great choice of buffet .

The service was excellent but the food was subpar. There was literally no seasoning on the meats or veggies. Not even salt or pepper. Everything was bland. It was inexpensive, however I will not be returning.

I love this place . Great food . Everything is fresh . Sundays are more expensive than any other day but it's the same foods . But good food options . Actually a buffet . All you can eat.

Came here for my first time for Thanksgiving 2021. Amazing food. Amazing place. The only reason that I rated this place 4 stars isn't even the restaurant's fault necessarily and it's that the town this place is located has definitely gone downhill over the past few years.

This is my go to place when I don't want to cook Sunday dinner but I forewarn you be prepared to wait. It's a buffet that includes fried and baked chicken, collards, Mac n cheese, yams, dressing, and corn just to name a few. The price includes your drink and dessert. This is REAL dining with glassware, chinaware and linen napkins. They have a couple of private rooms to host events.

We go here all the time. We live close but the friend chicken is so good. Well the entire buffet is good.
