The Hive

We are from out of town and just stopped in for a couple of drinks. Loved it! Staff was very friendly and attentive. Everyone was having a good time. It was a cozy, comfortable and laid-back place. Wish we had a place like The Hive in our area.

Fantastic food!! Server was great but she definitely needed some help keeping up. She did a phenomenal job though running things on her own. Women's bathroom trash can comes with a side of rust so recommend making sure you're up to date on your tetanus booster.

This is my new favorite quaint place to eat. The portions are large, the price is right, and the food is good. The reuben sandwich is amazing. Hefty sized cheeseburgers cooked just right. I've been three times now and I will be going back. Nice patio area.

The employee Sierra is absolutely amazing. She was efficient, quick and made an amazing custom drink when I didn’t know what to order. It was delicious! Wings were 10/10! She had us laughing and comfortable the whole time. I will visit every time I get a chance while visiting the area. Thank you sierra for a great experience!

I imagine at one time this place was cool and imagine at one time the food was good. But it is a little tired and our waitress had the personality of a rock. The food was eh, Pizza was good though. Re Ignite your passion.

Mediocre food, overpriced. 2 Salmon croquettes the size of hush puppies for $25. If that's your price point, then please improve the dining experience. And please train your staff on dining etiquette. Can't recommend this restaurant at this time.

I ordered thru the phone 2 topping pizza, they were busy and if I could wait...20 extra minutes when I was there. Sure went back 20 later, another server told me double the price. I asked to talk to original server who range me out . Only went cuz my family member live walkin distance............. It's shit hotel food u can walk down too, and Im Sure they up price on Him too Not sure was a special or happy hour... But was double price when I came back Last resort type hotel food

If you're looking for a loud game day experience, you will love it. Otherwise, this place is way too loud and rowdy.

Local "dive bar" with plenty of regulars and some times it's very noisy and crowded. They have a full bar and specials plus smoking only outside. The bbq burger was good , nice flavorful sauce just wish it came with pickles and onion fries were great. Husband's patty melt was delicious as were the fries.

For bar food, it was pretty good. That was one hefty Patty Melt they served up and the slaw was vinegar based (my FAVE!). The Shandy cocktail was pretty good too. Extremely loud, but it IS a bar. Service was okay. They were busy decorating for the holidays. Overall, pretty good is the best description.

I just wish this little token "dive bar" was located in the city. The bartender was very nice and very accommodating. We stopped for lunch, I ordered the grilled chicken salad, the salad was huge with plenty of grilled chicken. Their house dressing was a semi sweet Italian that was very good. My husband ordered the Ruben as seen in the picture. It's was on a marble rye bread he said it was fresh, the meat was tender and favorable. Would we go back? Of course.

This place was my local spot when I lived around the corner. If u ever in the west St. Louis county area check them out.

Classic dive bar with very good food. Very comfortable and relaxed both inside and out and the staff is pleasant. Service can be a bit slower at peak times but otherwise good. A must if you're in the area and want a drink and/or good bar food.

Amazing food and service! Best staff! Pizza phenomenal. Great atmosphere and always has sports games on. Great place to just chill and relax. Love seeing all the regulars! Love this place!!

I would love to give this bar 5 stars bc bartenders like Andy (the guy) and Ashley are so personable and make you feel at home. Unfortunately, the offensive "regulars" tend to dominate the bar atmosphere and more often than not, any bartender will cater to those people over you (except Andy). Bottom line: you either have to be attractive and brand new, or old and "know somebody" to not be harassed by certain patrons AND/OR staff at a certain hour. Leave before 11:00pm on any given day if you want to keep your dive bar experience as a good one.

Take this review as you will. Today I ordered the wings. I was put on hold. Finally ordered and was given 15 minutes to pick up. Well I arrived in 30 minutes. Upon talking to the bartender, she could not find my order! Do not call ahead. Results: Not one apology. Just said I will go some other place and thank you for my time driving there for absolutely nothing.

Great dive bar! Food is better than it should be and the service is great too. Happy to support them.

7/25. Used to love this place as an after dinner local place for a drink has its charm. Been here 50x always fun in the past. Walk in 7pm start bartender pissed off hates the world F bombs galore. Openly bitching about working there launching empty bottles Left the bar twice for 5 mins first time then 10 mins second time with cell phone to her ear. Awkward. My empty glass on bar for over 15 mins. Another group of 6 guys walk in to my right. Same treatment , guy next to me "what's up with that " I'm like no clue Finally young guy working bar area I say I am Trying to order food can't get attn. he helps me rolls his eyes I played touch tunes from my phone no music. Asked about it "I'll check". Then. Crickets. She finally takes the group drink order reluctantly one of worst attitudes I've seen In Years. An hour and 15 mins. Never uttered a word Very uncomfortable experience. I would totally skip. Several casual places nearby as pleasant options Wings very good but budget 45 mins plus made to feel unwelcome , your call on that. I wish I had video of her , it would rock if you need a lesson In hating where you work. Will not return. Craziness.

Walked in and immediately greeted by a beautiful bartender always a nice start. It was a Saturday afternoon so not busy but handful of regulars were there and very entertaining. The bad was nice and clean. Typical sports bar. Watched the Kentucky Derby and ate a chicken Caesar salad which was delicious. Ordered the Four Roses small batch neat which was reasonably priced. Over all great place! The dressing wasn't fishy like some Caesar dressing is and the portion was good.

We came in last night to celebrate a coworker. The food was soooo good and the environment was perfect. I love the mixed crowd. The employees were so awesome especially Andi and Alex. Alex waited on our table and he was so helpful and has amazing service skills. Andi and Alex together were so hilarious and made me make the decision that this will be my new after work spot. Even my other co workers agreed. It's hard to find good service these days but this place did not disappoint.

At the invitation of friends, I joined a small group at The Hive around 5:30 PM on a weekday. Conveniently located and open late, it proved to be a great gathering spot, with good service and good food. Drinks were reasonable, and there was plenty of seating for everyone. The pizza (St. Louis Style thin crust) was actually quite tasty! Overall, I liked this little place really well. 4.5 stars.

Amazing food with awesome atmosphere. Had the game on all TV's and the server made sure all drinks stayed full. Easy 5 stars!

10/10 - great environment and friendly staff and patrons. Signature drinks were refreshing (though a little on the spicy side). The kind of establishment where you can hang with old friends, meet new ones, or just get a glass of Chablis and bury your nose in a good book. Will definitely return!

I've been coming to this place for a while. The one problem with the craft cocktail movement is the vanishing dive. Easier to find in the city I know but this one is a gem for the West Co area. Everyone seems to know you and if they don't they will by the time you leave. The food is always your traditional bar food and the drinks are just what you want and strong. It is in a out of the way place in west county though off the main roads. Close to the golf course so it serves as the 19th hole for some. It's certainly a place to get to know your neighbors. A great neighborhood spot for any area, but I'm glad its in stumbling distance if needed.

The Hive's greatest asset isn't its drink menu. It's Scarlett. Scarlett is the best server I have ever been waited on by. She is personable and friendly but also funny and quick-witted. She makes sure I am well taken care of by asking me about my day and if I need anything else. She is not just good at her job but has a deep motivation to care for others. She is a true professional that I am so happy to have met.

The Food was delicious & staff were friendly but the waitress . Thought waitress lost the card but we are all good. We will be back .

Love this place!!!! Good food, great service.....the girls are the best! Lisa, Steph, Andi, Ashley, Amy, and "man" Andy....I always feel like I'm at my home away from home. If you need a place to just relax and feel taken care of in a cozy place, this is it!!

Good food and drinks for a fair price. This place gives the vibe of the hole in the wall small town bar in the best ways.

Very cliquish. My first time there. Felt uncomfortable as bartenders and waitresses just focused and engaged with regular customers. Rude loud talk on inappropriate topics. Poor service.

New Menu since Covid is excellent. Always fantastic service & cocktails! The potato skins are dynamite!

Visited The Hive today around 5 pm. Ordered the Deluxe Pizza plus bacon. Service was excellent and the pizza was so good. Fresh thin crust, crispy edges, sweet sauce, excellent! Get the pizza.

Hands down this is the only bar worth going to in creve couer. The food is great. Especially the pizza and wings. I sat at the bar and this trash talking, very funny bartender got my drinks and they definitely don't under pour. Seems like there are many regulars and some of them engaged me in conversation. I went there for a beer and stayed for 4. Check it out dude and duddettes!!

Hell a fun place, great wings and happy hour. Fun atmosphere, everyone is friendly and it's a unique layout. Support local bars and have a great time.

Didn't even know this place existed... so glad I found it. Enjoyed eating here... good food, good service, more traditional bar style place with wood surfaces (like Cheers on old TV show) and hometown atmosphere. Hard to find this down-to-earth atmosphere in middle of St. Louis County.

Tried to call and place an order but they wouldn't pick up the phone. Checked to make sure I was calling during their business hours. I was so tried again. It went to voice mail. Completely useless!

Great food, nice staff, good place to watch sports. Guests were cussing each other out, witnessed an altercation between two people, overheard some drunk tell a woman she was a c?!t and he wasn't even in their party...probably won't return based on the patrons. Maybe a weekday would be less eventful.

Boy Andy and Lisa are the BEST!! Everyone makes you feel like family. We come here every week for date night and always make friends. They remember our names and drink orders. If your looking for the best neighborhood bar, go to The Hive!

Went on a Wednesday. Just 2 of us. Went in for dinner about 8:00. There were only a few tables of people. We gave our drink order right away,gave our food order pretty quickly and then thats where it started to go downhill. Tables started to fill up with a few groups and a few more couples. About 15 min after ordering, our waitress asked if we wanted another drink and when she delivered it to us, she apologized for the food delay, told us there was only one cook on Wed. We started noticing that the customers that came in after us were getting their food. The waitress apologized and again said the problem was with the kitchen staff. It was about 40 min after ordering that we told our waitress we had to go. Felt really bad for her since food prep is out of her control, so we tipped her well for the 2 drinks and took off. Probably won't make it back.

Absolutely outstanding wings. Came here after a golf tournament for lunch and it definitely hit the spot, must visit!

I was there last night to have dinner and drinks, the drinks were great but I never got the chance to have dinner. The cook was upstairs screaming at the bartender downstairs because he allowed customers to order food. He was screaming and insulting the bartender to the point where we were actually so uncomfortable and scared, we left. I've never seen anything like that before and I hope I never do again.

Fun, cozy, neighborhood pub. Food is good, typical pub fare. Friendly waitress/bartender round off the experience...

The Hive is a two story dive with a deck that hires milfs to serve to middle age or older West county men. (If you are looking for a "sugar daddy"... ;) The milf bartender was nice and allowed me to get a pitcher of beer price on 4 pint glasses. The tap selection was all large brewery & mostly light beers, but I was on a lunch break so I was O.K. The milf made the joke about men being visual and gave me 4 poker chips and took one away for the first beer. I ordered the 'taco salad" and quickly was served a very large bowl of romaine, barely seasoned ground beef, tomatoes, cheese and black olives with a side of chips & bland salsa. The value for under $8 was ok, but needed more taste. A good dive just to relax is always a welcome place in West County.

I'm a regular at this bar and I love it so much. If you are considering wether or not to come here to drink... DO IT

This dive bar was pretty fun, been there a couple times no disappointment, you can go, sit and talk. Good selección of beers, nothing to crazy. Speaking about food the only thing I've tried: chicken wings, were pretty tasty.

Warning! You may have trouble staying away from the wings. Just smelling them when someone else ordered makes you want them. They are delicious and craveable! They are rave-able! I don't know what they put in them to make them so addictive, but hopefully it's legal. I'm not even normally much of a wing guy, but these are LIT fam. Insert dank memes / dabs. Divey, fun place to chill out for a while. Good assortment of beers as well. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I had my post election party here and they did just a great job! On your every day kind of thing they're just a great atmosphere and excellent bar selection great pizza great wings love the place!

Perfect cozy little bar with amazing one on one service. The food will shock you on how amazing it is. Bartenders are always a joy and attentive.

Stumbled upon this by accident. Growing up in South STL City, I have always loved the corner bar atmosphere. Stopped in for lunch and brought me back. Bar tender knew everyone and had a personal connection to every customer at the bar. Tap handles are great and give an excellent selection. Wings are top notch. Looking for a place In the county that has a great "South City" atmosphere, great wings and cold beer, this is the place.

The food was amazing but the service was horrible. We were ignored while watching the servers stand around and talk. I won't be going back.
