The Hive Patio Bar and Meadery

If you're looking for mead, don't bother. They had 3 "meads" in their selection, a Jalapeño, a strawberry, and a blueberry. All three were very obviously a honey wine with syrup added after to give them the specific flavor. You could (and I have) make better mead with honey, water, yeast, and a handful of fruit than what they had. The service was great, and the atmosphere was that of a club. Good regular bar drinks. Its a house converted into a "bar".

Honestly willing to look past the incredibly rude bartender because I didn’t have plans to spend time inside, however when I asked about college football on the outside tv projector and I was spoken to as if a UFC fight was the end all be all, that solidified my opinion on equality of service I’d receive here. Don’t come here if you want more than a dance party. Get your drinks elsewhere.

Cool spot for dancing and good drinks. Good dj with a small outside dance floor but limited seating. They were playing college football on a projector in the back yard which was nice.

Beautiful spot with large patio and backyard space. Mead drinks were tasty! Walking in for the first time was slightly confusing…we were not greeted by anyone working there. There were people sitting near the bar, but no one was behind the bar, so it was hard to tell if they were other patrons or staff. Would be helpful to have someone let newcomers know how to order.

Let me tell you out of the places to choose for nightlife in Fredericksburg, Texas. The hive should be your number one spot! Me and a group of my coworkers went there and rented out a section and had a blast! The service was on point and The energy and atmosphere was very welcoming. We had a great time.

This place drinks was a rip off. I felt like I was funding a kids party so they could keep up a house party. Shot of tequila and an amaretto sour was 45 dollars. I thought I was getting a whole bottle for that price. It was cool except for the cost.

Only giving two starts because they don’t charge cover at the door. Walked in and back to the small bar with nobody working it. When the bartender made his way over he proceeded to as us ‘ok what do you want’. Rude but whatever. Saturday night, I can understand a stressed service worker (because I’m one myself). $43 for two watered down drinks, well vodka. The crowd was young and music was alright.
