Amazing place for food. The service was great and the food even better!! Good sized portions and flavours. If you have a veggie / vegan in the group this is the perfect place to come as it has veggie/vegan alternatives for each dish! 100% will be coming back again

This place has a cool pirate ship vibe with indoor and outdoor seating. Menu options are limited, but they do have vegan options and the food we ordered was very tasty. Our portion size of fries was a bit smaller than expected based on the cost. Alsp, the the time to get our food was a bit longer than we expected. Overall this place is okay if you aren't in a hurry.

First time I visited The Hold was September 2025 and I had an amazing experience! Their menu is awesome with plenty of options, specially for vegans/vegetarians. I returned this week to try something different and the experience was amazing one more time. Will be back again!

It's so nice to see that years later, they still have a menu that can be fully vegan. Best GF bun I've ever eaten. Best burger I've ever eaten. Customer service 10/10. Can't wait to visit again!

We had the lunch special which is really good value (the drink options are a little light though). The decor is absolutely on point, the window booth is cosy, and the bartender was pleasant. The only real negative was not being able to modify my burger through the app, but we just ordered with staff. Definitely will be back to try the cocktails.

I traveled an hour with friends to have their Captain Jack burger, but it was unavailable when we arrived, however, the waitress Katie was absolutely AMAZING! She was super friendly and outgoing. Despite the burger not being able she accommodated us SO well!!

Here for a late lunch on 4 January 2026 with nephew and family (5 persons). We all ordered the burger and beer deal. 15 minutes after placing the order we got told the burgers would be delayed for another 20-25 minutes? This seemed awfully long as they were not busy? We accepted this. 3 burgers came out after about 25 minutes and we had to wait another 5 minutes for the other 2 burgers in our group? We were offered a round of drinks of which only one accepted but the free-be never came. We ate our meals took about 10minutes. I could not be bothered asking for the promised free-be. Burgers were ok but nothing to rave on about, service was atrocious. Very disappointing and will not return. Don't waste your time here.

Held our dirty flirty 30th birthday, hens and bucks night here. We had an amazing night. Food was delicious and plentiful. I got the snacks package and tacos for everyone. All the tacos were tasty. No one was left hungry! We also got the treasure chest cocktails which was just so much fun. Everyone loved mixing their drinks. The venue is so well themed. Staff were super friendly and helpful. 100% would recommend. My friends all loved dressing up and can't stop chatting about how much fun they had!

The food - amazing the service - heartwarming and the ambiance, I mean the ambiance is life changing. I felt like for the brief time I was in The Hold, that I myself was a pirate, I'm being serious. I will be going back, that is for certain.

I went here for lunch with a friend. We both tried one of the vegan burgers. Big plus for making all burgers available in a vegan version. I had the Nueva Espana $16 (Southern fried plant-based 'chicken' patty, vegan chipotle aioli, crispy coconut-flake bacon-substitute, avocado salsa, truss tomatoes, Spanish onions & coral lettuce) It was surprisingly yummy! Sometimes meat substitute can be bland and dry, not this time. I also tried the Cauliflower popcorn with chipotle aioli dipping sauce for $7. The dipping sauce was spicy, I really liked it. Service was ok, the waitress was polite. Sat outside in the nice weather and it was plenty of space between the tables. Felt covid safe.

Never had a bad experience at The Hold. I love coming here with groups because they have something for everyone. Every item on the menu has a vegan version available which is super accommodating and exciting for plant-based pals. The burgers are what they're known for, but try the vegan mac and cheese! Delicious! The staff are always super friendly and the decor is on point for the cargo of a ship! Very cool

The captain jack burger was delicious! Would def recommend this place if you're in the mood for a juicy saucy burger

Ok, Ive been a fan of The Hold for quiet a while now. EXCEPT for tonight when I ordered my burger to be rare, medium rare, the cook REFUSED to do what the customer wanted and decided to cook it the way he thought it should be done, med-well and DRY!!! NOT HAPPY cookie and I hope you're reading this. If You can't respect customers wishes then go some place else as you're losing customers. Its that simple. I sill love this place so, when I go back, if I cant get my meal the way I like it cooked, then I WILL go elsewhere. The rest of the staff is genius, wonderful and friendly. Im a Manly Resident for over 25 yrs and an ex chef of MANY years. Thank you.

We had a late lunch at The Hold. As might be expected from the name it was a decorated like a ship hold; chill music was playing from the speakers. I thought the Captain Jack burger was excellent, maybe the best I've had anywhere. I think it was the bbq sauce but also adding mac & cheese was brilliant (and I'm not just saying that - I'm not from the UK.) The beer selection wasn't that great, but that's not a knock against the place, it just seems that Australian restaurants put more focus on food and wine than beer.

This bar is pretty cool! It feels like you're inside a boat as it's dark and wooden. They have a very good selection of spirits for sure!! You don't need a booking, just pop by for a cocktail. They serve food too, haven't tried but am told it's decent. They do $10 burger nights during the week. Good local neighborhood pub!!

Excellent nautical interior. It's like being in a wooden ship! Awesome and tasty burgers (a bit small but filling). Also a great bar and live music. Friendly staff and good food.

The Hold is confounding. It's ship's belly decor is very successful. Its timbers shiver me not. Stools & high tables have the right relationship & are comfy enough to kick back awhile. Noone can argue with ten buck Wednesday evening burgers, which are the focus of the menu & pretty much as good as it gets: juicy, tasty & photogenic; riveted to a board, with an alarmingly sharp knife. Accompanying steak fries are good, if not great. Servings are relatively modest, the beer isn't cold & service is well-meaning, but abominable, relying, as is all too typical, on inexperienced backpackers, with inadequate English. I guess you can't have it all.

We went here for $10 burger night. We ordered at 7:30pm and some of our burgers still hadn't arrived by 9:00pm. The burgers are average at best. Wouldn't really recommend this place for burgers.

Best burger I have ever had. I had the Blue Beard's Slow Boat and husband had the Flagship. And the loaded fries with guacamole, cheese and bacon? Oh my gracious! Great spot. Sit indoors or out on a nice day. Our server, Melissa from Canada was just delightful.
