I’m a resident at The Holly, and I have had such a good experience living here. I also have to give a huge shoutout to Kam for always taking such amazing care of me. Any time I have an issue in my apartment—big or small—she gets it handled fast. She follows up, keeps me in the loop, and makes sure the maintenance team gets things done right. It’s rare to find someone that reliable and on top of everything. She’s such a hard worker… honestly, give this girl a raise haha! Definitely renewing again for another year.

Moving into The Holly has been quite the roller coaster, to be honest. But I’ve got to say, thanks to Kamrin, it’s definitely been a lot better. She’s been super helpful and always goes out of her way to help fix any issues I’ve had. She’s constantly working hard to get things sorted and really makes me feel taken care of. Even with the ups and downs, her support has made a big difference. Huge thanks to Kamrin for being so awesome and making the experience a lot smoother!

I’m the guarantor for Apartment 627A. We have signed leases for both Summer and Fall, and August rent is fully paid. Today, Justice Vasquez entered our apartment without notice, falsely claimed we never renewed our lease, and told her to leave immediately or the police would be called. I heard the entire exchange on the phone — it was threatening, intimidating, and completely unprofessional. This happened despite all paperwork and payments being in order. No prior communication, no record check, no apology. Just harassment. This conduct is unacceptable and unprofessional. As a large apartment community, I would expect any lease concerns to be addressed through proper communication channels or respectful communication, not through intimidation or threats. If you value respect and safety, avoid this place at all costs. Management needs to fix their records and train staff immediately. Update: The issue has since been resolved, and I appreciate the management addressing it. The apartment and amenities themselves are great, but I sincerely wish management would invest in training their staff on how to treat residents with respect and professionalism.

The unit we moved in to was honestly okay, I see where people are having issues in the reviews. But as far as my unit, it was fairly clean, and me and my roommate keep up with the cleanliness so we don’t notice anything off. There were times when the water pipes froze and there were issues, but they did warn us in advance on how to combat that and in some cases some units flooded from frozen pipes, including ours. But that was our fault as we used the washer thinking it would be fine. They solved that issue by bringing in carpet tech and making sure the units dried completely to prevent mold. They are good with maintenance and rarely do we wait long periods of time before things get fixed. I enjoy my time here(:

Google
I highly recommend this apartment complex. The management is super helpful, and they really care about the residents. The maintenance team is also quick to fix any problems. Plus, the location is super convenient. I've made so many friends here!

Google
I never had such a disgusting experience with any apartment in my life. I would have given 0 rating if it was possible. The management and maintenance is the worst of the worst. We roommates have put the service orders for the stove, dishwasher, lights and mattress for 5 times already, but every time they make it complete without completing it. If you are reading this then don’t give false promises that you will fix the issues. This is too much, anyone who is reading my comment, stay away from holly if you want mental peace.

Google
I just moved into the holly in August and my personal experience has been just fine! This apartment complex gives you everything you’d expect (and more) given the price! When moving in, my roommates and I got lucky and our apartment was hardly damaged and the little amount of broken things were still functional. You must keep in mind that this is mostly college student living so everything isn’t going to be spic and span. My apartment required a little bit of cleaning up before moving in but nothing too extreme! I have had to put in a couple maintenance orders but they have been super quick and they have been fixed within a week or two(they were low priority)and the staff’s communication was on point!

Chris

Google
Lacey, is absolutely fantastic to work with. She’s incredibly kind, helpful, and always quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care for residents and coworkers really stand out.

Lucas K.

Yelp
If you like this apartment because it is "Cheap" do not be fooled. This apartment complex will slap on any additional charges that they possibly can. You move out and have **SLIGHTLY** dirty carpet? $500! No attempt to shampoo it, just instant huge charge that they refuse to remove.

Brady B.

Yelp
When I moved in during August of 2024, the unit was dirty and had not been cleaned by the staff or the previous unit despite being told they make the previous residents clean up. Both the stove and the dryer didn't work upon move in. The kitchen light didn't work either. The rooms were infested with bugs and despite making a request for all of those things, it took them months to address them. We made a request for the dryer not working and it took them 3 separate tries of sending someone to fix it for them to actually do it right, which took over a month. (THE MAINTENANCE TEAM SUCKS). Overall a very bad place to live.

Amanda I.

Yelp
***Reached out to CLS living corporate after the comment from The Holly and gave a summary of issues and contact information for a callback. Has been nearly a month and no callback even though they "desperately" want to improve. Scammy CLS living and even worse, dirty, dilapidated The Holly. ---- The Holly is an undebatably bad apartment complex. Lived here 22'-23' school year. It looked so sketchy on move in that my Dad who grew up in the Southside of Chicago asked if it was safe here. Living here I experienced the following things: - Pipes bursting in the building - No water for a week during December - Exposed insulation outside (before pipes bursting, even more after) - Bug infestation in bathroom on move in - Apartment staff communicating wrong information to me about a exterminator, waited home all day - Roaches outside and in kitchen - Front door appearing to be bashed in upon move in - Exposed nails outdoors due to falling wall pieces - A/C unit that could not be set below a certain temp or would break - Gaslit about no heating in main room in winter - Having to put in multiple service requests to get my door lock fixed because staff would just mark it complete - Terrible communication from the apartment manager, had to hunt her down via email for months to get documentation I needed. - Staff and apartment manager "forgot" I scheduled a move out walkthrough at the front desk Not to mention their social media team blocked me on their accounts when I brought up the bugs. The place only has good reviews on google due to incentives. This place legitimately should be shut down and likely no given building on premises is up to code.

Yelp
Renter BEWARE!!! Negative stars is what they deserve. The apartment was in disrepair on move in day. Mattress with slits in it, broken refrigerator without ice maker, broken dryer, rusted out hot water heater with water leaking from the base, un painted walls, doors completely falling off laundry area, dining room table and chairs broken, living room chair destroyed, fire alarm sprinkler broken (possible code violation), Dishwasher falls out of the wall, several plugs don't work. Gave them a list and not ONE thing has been addressed. There are a lot of excuses for why nothing has happened. This apartment should NEVER have been rented with the poor shape it is in. Inexcusable!!! They do NOT fix/replace broken appliances but are happy to take your rent check.

Chase G.

Yelp
Had roaches coming out my AC vent and my fridge broke, it took them over a month to fix, but then it soon broke again. Lot of my groceries went bad. Staff is immature and low IQ. Not anything going on here either. Way overpriced. $1,800 a month for a tiny apt split by 4 roommates. Massive rip off, these apts should be $1,000 max. If these apts are your last option because you're going to Texas Tech, just skip Tech and go elsewhere. This place is on a downward spiral. They have to rent to worse tenants because the rooms are bad. The worse tenants ruin the place and then they get more bad people. They deserve the tenants their getting for not investing in their property years ago.

Karla S.

Yelp
In all my years in America I've lived in so many apartment complexes and this is by far the worst one. I know most college apartment they don't really care about us as students or healthy issues. But believe people when they say this place is horrible and it should be even cheaper for how they keep maintenance with it. Been here since august and I've put work orders plus work orders of this place never one has been fixed my restroom leaks non stop because the AC is in the restroom which is dumb and it's so loud they said it was missing a piece but never placed an order been waiting since August 18 for the piece of the AC bearly let's me sleep at night. I cannot stess it e ought this place sucks. Plus there bill with electricity is the most I've paid in any apartment in Lubbock might as well rent a house for the extra installment they charge and all the extra fees they do. As for parking in scared the roof might fall at any second poorly. Beautiful place where they put the apartment suck at maintaining the people that rent. It's cheap for a reason but not worth the headache. They say they try there best but had a whole summer to have a lot of things fixed since most of the students go back home. My roomates her room was full of pigeon poop everywhere I guess maintenance left the window open. I'm scared cause when winter comes it's probably going to get worse with pipes freezing and having no water, maybe no electricity and maintence won't be helping. Call the front office and they are nice but they can't do anything then tell you to put work orders but nothing is ever done safe yourself the headache and money.

Monica G.

Yelp
It is October 16th 2024. The heating and cooling system is still not working. All of the fire alarms went off at 4:00 a.m. throughout the apartment last night. Everyone evacuated from the apartment and alerted the Fire Department. The Fire department said the alarms were faulty. The Fire Department told management to have the detectors repaired first thing in the morning. Nothing was done. I tried contacting CLS. The answering service does not work. You can't leave a message no matter what selection you attempt to make, it just repeats the same greeting no matter what you select. It is unbelievable.

Lee F.

Yelp
We have lived at The holly for a few months now and every issue that has arose was fixed either same day or the following day. Maintenance was on top of their game when it came to plumbing issues connecting to our bath. Ally at the front desk has been nothing but kind too! Even when she seemed stressed while helping others she still took the time out of her day to stop and make sure all our issues were addressed and accounted for! She has been a major help! Overall the staff has been on top notch and ran better than a chick fil a drive thru!

Leeson W.

Yelp
I lived here for about a year, and the experience was absolutely horrendous from the beginning. My apartment's dryer did not work when I moved in, and it didn't work when I moved out, despite submitting over 2 dozen maintenance requests. Their maintenance staff is wholly unhelpful and occasionally just makes issues worse. Additionally, they locked me out of my room a full month before my lease ended, even though I had already paid rent for that month. After locking me out, they removed my belongings (which I didn't have access to) at the end of the lease, "losing" about $600 of my personal property in the process. There had been any theft on the property for the entirety of my lease period, but then my property mysteriously disappears? I don't think so. TL;DR: Don't live here if you don't want your stuff stolen by your landlord.

Yelp
We moved my son into The Holly two weeks ago today. The apartment was dirty, reeks of pet urine and the outlets do not work in the kitchen nor the bathrooms. Two weeks later the outlets still do not work nor have they sent anyone to fix the move-in punch list items. I am not at all impressed with these people. I'll be happy to update once they've done something of note.

Yelp
At all costs DO NOT live here I've been living here for 6 months. On top of my apartments security being absolutely terrible to the point that anybody can just walk in, they don't fix ANYTHING. I've reported the dryer, the washing machine, electrical problems, and soooo many more on top of roaches and mold and I've had nothing fixed. The staff they have here to fix electrical problems are so incompetent that when they came by to fix a GFCI circuit they didn't even check it after fixing. Luckily enough it just didn't work as opposed to a potential short causing an over voltage which could prove to be fatal. This place is absolutely the worst

Yelp
Before i start... reading the reviews, i am sure "MONICA H." Works for this property... such BS, THOSE PICS ARE PROBABLY MARKETING PICS WHEN THEY FIRST OPENED.. DON'T BELIEVE THAT REVIEW SAVE YOURSELF... RENT SOMEWHERE ELSE!! SHOULD BE CONDEMNED BY THE BOARD OF HEALTH! This is my follow up 12 month review-- Thank god.. my last rental payment to this DUMP! DO NOT RENT HERE! We had no choice being that we couldnt break the lease. My son survived the year WITH MANY... MANY issues for repair, shitty WIFI issues-- which was very important to have being that all classes were online due to COVID.. washer broke several times, instead of replacing, "Jerry-Rigged" it instead.. A/C issues..all maintenance folks quit( dont blame them) that maintenance supervisor, shes a joke! ... the pool was basically closed over half the year.. it was disgusting...and looking thru the reviews of those poor dogs stranded on the porch!!! ANIMAL ABUSE.. WHY WASNT THIS REPORTED TO ANIMAL CONTROL??? THISE TENANTS SHOULD BE IN JAIL!!!! i can go on and on but im sure you get it.. look at my first review, i left pics of the disgust! I would give this place a -10 star if they had it, i wouldnt even give them a 1 but it wouldnt let me post w/o a star rating To the HOLLY... CLEAN UP YOUR ACT AND STOP THE FALSE ADVERTISING OF BEAUTIFUL APARTMENTS ON YOUR WEBSITE... they're obviously not this property

Yelp
Absolutely horrible experience at The Holly! From the move in date for my son and roommates everything was very dirty, obviously not a bit of cleaning from one tenant to another. The dishwasher had standing water that looked and smelled like it had been there for weeks or months. The door key card never worked to unlock the door, all three had to climb to the second story balcony to enter the apartment. The garbage disposal never worked, the drier had no lint screen (fire hazard), toilets ran constantly. The list goes on but so many reviews are saying the same issues. All of these issues were turned in to maintenance repeatedly. I fully believe management doesn't have a care in the world about proper maintenance, safety, or even remotely giving you what your paying for. Management knows very well that this is a college town and people will rent there no matter what so they don't care about tenants at all! Believe me when I quote my son, "the dorms are a helluva lot better than this sh**hole"! Exhaust all means of finding somewhere else!

Cait T.

Yelp
If I could leave 0 stars I would. This place is awful, they don't take anything seriously. i've lived here for 2 years and maintenance guys have come and go so fast. One of them wouldn't even do their job and would sit on his phone and say nothing is wrong. The managers don't take you seriously at all and won't fix any problems even if you complain about it multiple times. They are rude and don't do anything here. I am so glad to be getting out of this horrible place. DO NOT LIVE HERE, trust me you will be stuck with so many problems and it's just not worth it.

JZ Z.

Yelp
Look elsewhere. Roach-infested, filthy, run-down apartments! Gates are broken...have never worked. Apartment front doors either don't close all the way or are actually missing door knobs and deadbolts. Lack of security. Assaults occur on property. Roads throughout are full of huge potholes. Trying to get a response from management or maintenance is a waste of time.

Chloé P.

Yelp
I usually never leave ratings but I had to for The holly. Ever since i moved in our fridge broke and it took them two weeks to replace. our dishwasher broke twice. our hot water went in and out for months until they decided to give us a new one. our dryer was broken for 3 months and they kept saying they were "waiting on the part" until it came in and they realized they ordered the wrong part. the pool is dirty year round. our outlets and ac didn't work when we first moved in. work orders take forever to complete. i believe all of the staff quit from when i lived there but they were all extremely rude. parts of my ceiling above my shower were falling apart. half of my drawers in my bathroom would break every time i opened them. there is bird poop EVERYWHERE and the buildings are infested with bird nests. im pretty sure there is parts of the roof coming off.
google avatar

Morgan B.

Yelp
Do not move here! The apartment itself is cute and spacious, but there is ALWAYS something breaking. Maintenance service is awful! I didn't have electricity in my bedroom for 2 months and couldn't get someone to fix it. They shut the water off for almost an entire week with no warning - I had to stay in a hotel. My air conditioning is currently broken even though I have put in two maintenance requests marked as "high priority." I have never experienced so much inconvenience at a complex before! I pay almost $600/mo plus electric to live here without basic functioning utilities. I will be moving ASAP even though my lease isn't up until July. I would love it here if things just worked!

Reece S.

Yelp
Do not live here. The list of things they did wrong or just didn't do at all in the two months I was there was longer than a dissertation - My Girlfriend (Tenant). I'm writing this on behalf of my girlfriend who is afraid to be charged a BS fee for giving an honest review as others have been. The day she moved in they told her she wasn't scheduled to move in despite having already signed the lease. They blamed the previous tenant and then her until they fixed the issue themselves. Then, upon move in, the outlets in the bathroom and kitchen did not work, the doors were coming off their hinges, walls were badly repainted, small holes in walls, broken appliances, disgusting carpet, nasty pool, wide open gates 24/7, 83° in the weight room, worthless TV, no parking lot lines. The list goes on and on. She filled out the form listing all these things and was told they'd have to put in work orders. They never put them in nor came to the apartment. When she was told inspections would take place from 9am-5pm they came at 7:30pm. Since the gates are never closed the pool is more of a community pool for the neighborhood kids than it is for the actual tenants. Not to mention the pool was so dirty you couldn't see past two inches. Oh and there was a turtle living in it. The floors are so thin that you can here someone walking in their tippy toes above you. The staff were rude to her on multiple occasions and weren't very helpful. If you can afford the extra $100/month go across the street to The Republic who actually have a clear pool.
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
The worst customer service I've ever seen. I witnessed check out day and they were 40 minutes late with about 20 kids waiting to check out. They acted like they were inconvenienced when tenants had questions. They were literally throwing the kids check out envelopes that had their keys inside because they were angry they had to actually do their job. The BBB will be getting a report from us about this place with more than just what I witnessed today it was unbelievable how this place is not managed properly or professionally.

Jose D.

Yelp
Terrible experience. Just moved in and our apartment wasn't even cleaned. The AC unit isn't working and when we put a work order the office said it will take a few days so now my roommates and I are blasting the fans full speed. No kidding, the outside air feels better than our apartment. My restroom wasn't cleaned either and the toilet was disgusting. Also having issue connecting to WIFI plus is not a secure network. I had a better expectation for this place especially after they gave us a tour, but very disappointed. Wouldn't recommend. Not sure if it's just our bad luck for getting this unit. Maybe some other residents are having better experiences. Might be an affordable student apartment complex, but you can easily find better student apartments with a better rate. I've read other reviews where residents have had their vehicles broken into, hopefully that doesn't happen.

Colin M.

Yelp
Cockroach infested, shuts down early, not COVID safe, broken furniture in apartment, stains on carpets. Been living here for 2 years now only because everything else is too expensive. This place isn't good highly do not recommend.

Tre' R.

Yelp
this place is horrible!!!!!!!! they tried makimg me sign a lease on a place that the roof was literally leaking water from the ceiling. & broken appliances the walls are disgusting !!! they look full of dirt & black marks ALL OVER. THE ROOMMATE THEY TRIED PAIRING ME WITH WAS ABSOLUTE DIRTY !! The living room was disgusting had dirt everywhere & the kitchen was DISGUSTING had dirty dishes EVERYWHERE. LOOKS LIKE A PIG was living there . this place sucks . NO ONE WANT TO PAY FOR GARBAGE I walked into a completely dirty apartment LEAVE THEM ALONE . they are so desperate to have people rent from them. That the lady tried forcing me into signing a lease BEFORE I SEEN MY APARTMENT & AFTER i seen the garbage they tried selling me I I say I CLEARLY STATED TO THEM THAT I DO NOT WANT TO LEASE WITH "The Holly" & I AM NOT SIGNING with them. That place is going down the drain . do not be fooled by how good the gym & leasing office looks . shower head had mold

Carson N.

Yelp
My son has lived at The Holly for three years. It's a good price for a reason. You get what you pay for. On numerous occasions, appliances have broke and it takes management forever to get them fixed. Not to mention the apartment was a little run down. (Doesn't look like their pictures on their website.) Recently, cars are getting broken into on a weekly basis. Where is the security? We've been broken into three times and two in the last 6 weeks. When we call the management, they say "We will look into it." I would NOT recommend The Holly to anyone!
google avatar

Jordan L.

Yelp
The Holly, from my perspective, lacks organization, training, and care for their current residents. It makes it extremely difficult to get anything fixed in a timely manner (months w/o a fridge that worked properly, a month without a washing machine, and a dryer that wasn't working properly for at least a year causing me to give up air dry my clothes since it's 3x faster than our actual dryer). I would like to point out that it isn't individual maintenance workers causing these issues. It's the Holly's lack of organization and unwillingness to pay for proper fixes that causes these issues. This lack also allows staff to get away with not enforcing the conditions of the lease resulting in instances where 4 people and 5 pets were crowded into one space w/o repercussions. If you need somewhere cheap to live and don't care about things constantly breaking (including the appliances and the rules within the lease) this is your place. I, however, as a current resident would encourage you looking around.
google avatar

Fernando M.

Yelp
Place is a shithole. Maintenance is horrible, there's trash everywhere and the pools suck. Management is bottom of the barrel. They couldn't care less about what's going on around the complex. Also, don't get a flat or have expired tags because they will have your vehicle towed within that same day. Never will I recommend this place to anyone.

Daniel G.

Yelp
After writing my review I was charged $25 for leaving "trash out next to the door on July 2" when I moved out weeks ago! This place is trash along with the people running it
google avatar

Kashif H.

Yelp
My daughter just moved in today and to say the least I'm disappointed. The apartment they showed us as compared to the one she moved into is quite disappointing. See pics and pics and video attached. The folks here are very cordial and polite but the apartment is disappointing. The floors have paint and marks in the wood floors, blinds are missing slats, bathroom counters are stained, shower floor was stained, fan blades bent, no pantry as shown when we looked at the apartments, and then she wasn't allowed to park in her paid covered parking spot until next week.
google avatar

Gracia J.

Yelp
I have lived here for 2 years now and I had a couple problems with management the first year fixing my dyer. It was very irritating but they would come and fix it very often instead of giving us a new one. Other than that I transferred to a new apartment and almost got charged a large fee for the old carpet even though there had been leaks throughout the year. I then talked to management and they helped me get the fee taken off. Very sweet and good experience. My apartment at least is very nice and for the price is awesome. Only thing is our dishwasher doesn't work. We also tend to have fruit flys a lot but fixed the problem with some apple cider vinegar. Hallways though are very gross this is the one complain I have of this place currently as there is bird feces everywhere it smells, something that a nice pressure wash could fix. Overall there's always going to be pros and cons to living somewhere but for the price I can say The holly is a nice peaceful place to live.

Melody S.

Yelp
Since moving in, the facility and the management team have been the top tier of slumlords. Move in, the apartment was dirty, missing half the amenities, work was unfinished, none of the fire alarms or exit signs were present, the air filter was disgusting, and drug parafanalia was in the room. The water was turned off for over two weeks dur to poor management and a burst pipe without any promise of it being fixed. The front door is broken and a major safety concern. The complex states that even though it is not up to code standards, it's their standards. Any work order placed is just signed off and not completed. And they do just enough to skate by other building codes. All the good ratings on this appartment are from staff to hide the fact that this is a horrible place to live. Do not live here.

Sylvia H.

Yelp
Me and my roommates have been going back and forth with the office for about a month about needing new trays for the dishwasher since they are falling apart and some areas are RUSTED off and for our dryer that has been "fixed" twice but still won't turn on and i believe it is a safety hazard since it's still plugged in.

Amelia H.

Yelp
Do not live here at all costs!!! It's nothing like what they tell you it will be like! The carpets in the rooms are disgusting, the apartments are not move in ready when you move in! We had to clean the entire house before moving in, while finding spiders and cockroaches all over the place. While living here the management and maintenance will not work with you. Our dryer half way into our year lease stopped working and the maintenance people didn't even attempt to start to fix it until our last month here. They told us they had ordered a new dryer 5 times and the only time we have seen a new dryer was when we walked up to our apartment and found it at our front door literally left there outside not installed like they said they where gonna do!! Another instance to why you shouldn't live here could be the time in December when a pipe burst flooding the top two floors of our apartment building and waking up to a fire alarm at 3 in the morning with no warning to what was going on! The building itself is falling apart, as one morning we woke up to a piece of wood falling off the side of the building in the hallway with nails everywhere. When calling the front desk about it they said to call back another time and the wood plank was left there for weeks!

Yelp
Do not live here unless your only option! Seriously. My previous roommate and I were going to move to the holly from capstone because of the cheap rates. When I went for move in it was an experience from hell. The way their student staff talked to parents over the phone I was shocked. A girl on the phone with someone's father literally told him that it's his sons fault for something an to teach him responsibility and what it means to be an adult. Right from there I knew something was not right. The next day I went to pick up keys and they informed me that taking it "as is" which other locations do not do, means taking over the previous tenants DAMAGES and that it I did not fix them myself I would have to PAY. I don't know how that is legal but I considered it due to desperation from covid.. then LUCKILY the girl who would be my new roommate showed me pictures of the apartment covered in dog feces and Piss with trash everywhere and carpets in the room I was going to take were torn up by her pet I guess. Automatically I ran away and continued with my lease at capstone. My other roommate was not so lucky.. she stayed with the holly and was moved around 3 different times, and is now living with a teen not enrolled at tech who leaves her pet on the balcony at all hours covered in PILES of dog poop and no water. She's tried to talk to the resident to no avail. Both of the girls who are stuck their say the office does nothing and in fact tells the residents who "told on them". Horrible horrible business. And also when my roommate and I have toured this place before agreeing to sign we were shown the model in the front and told that we would be placed in the building by it facing the lake/next the front. That is definitely not what happened. They had placed us in the back of the property facing a trashed parking lot and retirement home. Glass all over the property and by the pools which are GREEN. Both of them. The whole property just looks run down and torn apart I feel very badly for it's residents. I would never be able to focus on school or work with a living situation like that. Plenty of other better cheap options as well!

Yelp
I don't recommend putting a deposit down for The Holly. My daughter notified them she was not going to be renting after all with plenty of notice. We are getting the run around and threatening Emails about a $500 charge due for not leasing with them.

Joel H.

Yelp
very cost effective living choice, slightly on the outskirts so it's pretty quiet. It's difficult sometimes but the maintenance team is really on it. shout out to johnny, was extremely professional and handled the issue in a timely manner.

Parker R.

Yelp
While conveniently priced, you get what you pay for. Improperly cleaned pools, lack of maintenance to the grounds and facilities, as well as constant need for repairs within the apartment. For example, in less than a year we had a broken refrigerator, freezer, A/C, toilet, shower, doors, and a desk. Definitely would not recommend this property unless its the only place one could afford. Two thumbs down.

Yelp
So, things are falling apart constantly. Today a brown recluse in a coffee cup. The answer...we sprayed last week so there might be a more active pattern! Seriously???

Yelp
Water heater was broke and Johnny D and his crew were johnny on the spot. For the most part, apartments are good for the price and maintenance crew is usually very responsive.

Yelp
Terribly managed and poorly maintained. Been trying to get daughter checked in for over three hours. All parents in lobby complaining how nasty their kids rooms are as well.

Yelp
One of my best friends lives here and is literally in talks with legal professionals about this place for their incompetence. Do NOT live here. I can't even begin to tell you all that her and her roommates have gone through! One of the most severe cases of incompetency was when they experienced major leaking that flooded their apartment and management basically told them it was their fault though they've repeatedly complained to maintenance that they were having several issues related to water in their unit.

Yelp
Terrible place to live. Don't expect anything to work, and if you call to get it fixed. Nothing will get fixed, or will STILL be broken day of or the next day. I've had maintenance just walk in without knocking first and your car will get broken into. Our AC breaks every other week. We have multiple problems with our dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator, sinks leaking etc and our apartment has flooded twice. Don't expect them to be in a huge hurry to help. They'll probably wait a week to help even if your apartment is hotter than it is outside, in the summer.

Yelp
I would like to start my review with things that are good about the holly, it is affordable for college students and that is it and even with affordable housing the unlivable conditions that the Holly provides does not make it worth it. From before me and my roommates even signed we were treated with disrespect from the management team. One of my roommates came in with a simple question and got met with a finger in his face. The disrespect has continued throughout the entirety of us living here. You will be lucky if you can get maintenance to fix anything, our dryer has been broken since we moved in and we have been putting in work orders just for maintenance to come up and never fix the problem and that is if they decide to even come look at it and not just mark it complete. This is not the only appliance we have had issues with. Our microwave broke and we didn't receive a new one for two weeks, there was a leak in the pipes on our water heater and their fix was cutting out the pipe and replace it with a small bowl ziptied to the pipe to catch the drips. We were out of water for 2 weeks and in that period we were promised reimbursement for everything bought and to send in all receipts, I did and received nothing from them. We were told multiple promises on when the water would be on and none of them were correct instead they busted another pipe and flooded our first floor. In order to alleviate the situation the Holly offered credit towards rent or to be put up in a hotel, me and my roommates chose the credit option just to find out that they were not putting it on for the month the disturbance happened. When I went to complain I was directed to contact corporate and they did nothing to help. Then our washer stayed broken for two weeks before someone came to look at it and we are still without a working washer. The Holly is truly the worst complex I have seen in Lubbock Texas from the management, to maintenance, even down to the units. If you do choose to live here I would highly suggest having a decent lawyer because you will need it.

Yelp
Place is a shithole . They will also do the most to rob you . Tried to pay my rent on the day it was due and the system was down according to the man who answered the phone on July 1st. Told me I would have to wait for the system to come back up. Couple days passed and I still couldn't pay it until I noticed I received my first late notice on my email, so I logged into the app to pay and despite it saying 425$ on the email , I was already getting charged the late fee. Maybe fix your fucking system when it goes down fucking thieves. everybody else that works at this property is useless . Maintenance bullshits around and acts as if they went to your apartment to fix shit but they don't really show up and fix it . You have to submit at least 3 work orders before they actually do something because if you don't bug them enough they won't care to come. Do not move here unless you have no other option . I'd rather live on the street to be honest .Everything breaks and the apartments are dirty as fuck. These lazy fucks don't even clean the gym . It's disgusting in there . Can't even provide the residents some disinfectant towels. Apartment complex is ridiculously horrible , almost hard to believe the reviews but trust me . The reviews on here are true and honest

Yelp
Even though living here was cheap, it was not worth it. The staff try to act very helpful but do little for the people that live here. I had a bed problem before moving into my unit and they made me pay $$$$ just because they couldnt take care of the problem before moving in. It is no wonder their prices went down so bad. Their service is horrible yet the free Yeti coolers really shows how they try so hard to bring in customers because there were so many empty units and the recruiters had a hard time getting leases signed. DONT DO IT. Maintenance takes a while to take care of you and the staff are not lenient with payments. They are always after your money.

Yelp
I sub-leased my apartment, however 3 years after I moved out I had a collection agency call me and request money that The Holly said still owed. Unfortunately, I didn't save a copy of the sub let agreement, so I had to pay the 6 months of rent. Very unprofessional! Keep records of everything for this complex. They are dishonest.

Yelp
This place is a joke. Management is a joke. Nothing ever gets done when stuff is wrong with your apartment and good luck trying to get a hold of someone who can help. Would 100% recommend paying double anywhere else just not to live here.

Yelp
whatever you do, i am begging you to not live here. i wasn't going to write a review but it's been less than 2 weeks and i am losing it. when i moved in the apartment was in terrible condition. nothing had been cleaned at all. there was trash all over the floors. there were bugs in my shower and my window. the microwave was disgusting and smelt horrible and had food stains. my roommate's toilet had poop that she and her parents had to clean themselves. there was a huge brown stain in her shower and brown spots all over the ceiling. our tv remote had bite marks on it. our blinds don't even close because they are broken. none of the drawers can even close right because they are aligned and broken and so is my bedroom door. the assistant manager came and checked our all of our concerns and promised pet control would come spray, a cleaning crew would come, and that we would get a new remote without bite marks, and that my door would get fixed. it's been almost 2 weeks and absolutely none of that happened. i woke up to a bug on a pillow. a family of roaches outside my room. i can't even walk barefoot in my room because the other day i looked down and there were bugs crawling on my feet from the carpet. as i was cooking today, there was a bug on my arm. i've now been losing my marbles from being itchy and paranoid about so many bugs in this place. i finally wrote this review because i am going crazy having to live in this place. please don't make the same mistake i did and live here. Alyson at the front desk is a queen though!

Yelp
Horrible place to live, don't recommend at all. Everything was dirty when moving in, like can you at least clean before handing someone else the apartment??? The amenities are obviously not as advertised, you literally get what you pay for. The internet is so trash, so much for "high speed internet," wouldn't even recommend using it since you will always be disconnecting from it no matter what you're doing. If you're gonna claim fast internet at least make it be fast not mediocre. There's dog shit everywhere outside the complexes I guess they don't in force the picking up your dog's mess policy. And the A/C system is so messed up too, one room will literally get blasted with air while the farthest room from that first room will get little to no air so have fun melting or freezing in your room.

Notloc L.

Yelp
Although maintenance takes care of little problems pretty fast and it's an overall peaceful place The internet used to be very good and reliable but now it is constantly going out for hours, it's has already gone out twice today and my Ethernet doesn't work at all. The water wasn't working earlier. It seems like I am constantly having to reset the outlets and The room was not very clean when I moved in. It also seems like something is always messed up here. While this isn't very important to me, the gate hasn't worked for about a month.

Madeline N.

Yelp
you definitely get what you pay for here, there's no way I would recommend living here to anyone. I never had a semi decent interaction with the staff and the community is poorly run and trying to get any issues addressed is like pulling teeth. I started counting down the days til move out the week after I moved in. Thank goodness I'm finally out of this hell hole.
