Recap: In the ‘The Last of Us,’ There’s Still Beauty in Eating Well | Eater

"A national hardware-and-home-supply retailer functions as the source of crucial materials for a survivalist's self-sufficient bunker: tools, wiring and other supplies are raided to restore electricity and gas, rig traps, and fortify an abandoned house into a powered compound. Those acquisitions make possible small luxuries—candlelit steak dinners, elaborate meals and sustained creature comforts—that support long-term domestic life, shared gardening and intimate moments between partners amid the post-apocalyptic setting." - Bettina Makalintal

My online order for deck resurfacing project had multiple issues - missing, damaged and incorrect items. However, assistant store ops manager Felipe Castaneda addressed and resolved issues quickly and correctly to my satisfaction. It shows how committed they are to make good for total customer satisfaction. Thanks again for Felipe and everyone else involved in handling of my orders & issues!

Google
Well stocked Home Depot, but the primary reason I wanted to write this review was to recommend and thank the sales associate - William. He was extremely helpful and guided us towards all the right directions. Especially being amateur at home and handy work, He truly was descriptive and detailed in his explanation. Thank you!

I cannot say enough good things about this location. Samira and Fatou at the customer service desk were so helpful and patient. They really tried to move mountains to get me what I needed. Alex, the store manager, helped me load an entire six piece patio set into my SUV— even going as far as breaking down boxes to make it all fit. When I had to come back to the store due to pieces left behind, he even offered a coupon and was waiting AT THE DOOR to give me my items. The customer service I received today was above and beyond. I have never had a shopping experience like this and you can bet you bottom dollar I’ll be back!

Google
I love home depot in general. They have a lot to offer for the home, both inside and out. Sometimes they have good deals. However, the main problem that whenever I go, no one is available to help. I do love that they offer flooring samples.

Yelp
I went to Home Depot to return an item. The employee at the returns desk was busy talking to a coworker with his back to me. I waited a moment then said excuse me. He turned around and said that he was talking. He then continued his conversation. After a couple of minutes he helped me. He wasn't wearing a name badge but according to the receipt, his name was Michael. I could not believe how rude he was. I have spent over a thousand dollars this past year at Home Depot and now it looks like I will be shopping elsewhere. Come on Home Depot you can do better.

Yelp
I love home depot in general. I feel like I can spend hours just browsing the aisles. There are so many projects to choose from, most of which I can't do anyway lol. On this recent visit, I picked up five bags of mulch and Vigoro weed & feed. I know I should have grabbed a few bags of soil, but I just couldn't get myself to put that much effort into gardening!! I passed by the other garden items, specifically hoping they would have some nice pavers that would fit, but unfortunately, not this time. The indoor plant section was surprisingly small...I was hoping to find a snake plant, but couldn't find one I liked. Checking out took a bit longer than anticipated as one of the customers kept insisting the price rang up wrong and should be corrected. The cashier ultimately corrected the price once they showed the sign. The cashier apologized profusely for the wait, but the customer in front me and I said it was perfectly fine. I usually rely on their website to locate specific items...makes it pretty easy to find something (as long as the correct location is selected). The aisle and bay number will be listed on the site. In the past, it was always hard to find someone to help find something or provide advice for a project. It has gotten better since then, where they came up to me asking if I needed help. This Home Depot location is nice, not in a very busy shopping center. There is plenty of parking designated solely for Home Depot.

Yelp
Had to rent a van last second to help my sister move. The staff was incredibly helpful and David specifically MADE MY DAY!! Thank you my friend!

Yelp
Do not get your appliances at Home Depot. They send out appliances that have been packed damaged and do not want to exchange them or help you out. I received a dishwasher that had no damage to the outside box or the packaging and the door and inside were bent and they insisted I had to go through GE the manufacturer. GE service inspected it and found it had been damaged inside and the whole unit needs to be replaced. I'll never shop at Home Depot again. You pay good money and they don't want to do the right thing.

Yelp
I live super close to this location and come here often for plants. However, on this particular day I just needed two small pieces of wood for my planters, to raise the new mums I bought. A very nice man directed me to the wood aisle and told me that there is a clearance section of wood that has previously been cut and they try to get rid of. He encouraged me to check it out. He even took the time to walk with me over there. We saw a slab of wood that seemed perfect in thickness but just needed to be cut into blocks. He took me to another employee that was in charge of the wood section who seemed clueless. I immediately got nervous as this man said that there was a minimum amount he was able to cut and that we would need to head over to the cut it yourself center/mobile station to saw it. I'm not sure if the saw blade was just dull or what, but this guy was struggling to cut it, not to mention walking down the aisles he was swinging it around almost hitting other customers. I even had to help him lift in onto the station because he wasn't sure how to lay it in correctly. I began to get embarrassed standing there anxiously waiting, also thinking to myself I could probably just do it myself a lot quicker and wanted to avoid a potential accident. Ultimately I asked him to stop as I grew impatient and picked two blocks myself that ended up being $10 each. They were square rosettes. I felt bad but I was ina rush. My husband was annoyed because I could've saved us money by using the original clearance piece of wood especially because I didn't need much of it. Lesson learned, wait for my husband before going to Home Depot for DIY items but my blocks did the trick and I'm proud of myself for figuring out a quick fix.

Yelp
06/28/24 Women in black dress pushing a cart with a few items shows my husband a card. At first, I thought she thinks he works here... Please do something about people panhandling inside your store.

Yelp
I live really close to this location. I have picked up multiple things over the last two weeks. I have to say my most recent visit was to the paint department. Mas was eager to assist and very welcoming. He pointed me in the right direction and helped me find the paint I needed. He was funny and again eager to assist. Lately, it's hard to find people that enjoy their work and enjoy helping others. I appreciate his kind demeanor and wanted to make it known.

Yelp
This home depot definitely has the A team. I ordered a dish washing machine online but decided to return it when it could not be installed due to sizing and plumbing issues. After some initial run around, the store manager (John H) and a few of his associates went above and beyond in getting the item returned, which was not an easy task, as they had to schedule a pickup, then the returned item had to be processed before a refund could be issued. John and team did a fantastic job in making that happen, and also kept me in the loop by taking the time to make (at least 4) phone calls during the 2 weeks that this process took. Highly recommend them for their diligence and customer passion.

Yelp
Home Depot scheduled a job interview with my daughter at 4 pm today. When she showed up, they told her that they filled the position yesterday. They never contacted my daughter to let her know. Additionally, while the Home Depot website claims it gives a 10% discount to military/veterans they wouldn't give me one even after I showed a valid Marine Corps veteran ID card to the cashier in the garden center. Lowe's honors my ID though.

Yelp
Horrible loud noises coming from here at night between 10pm and 6am. You can hear it from inside the closed apartments across the street. It keeps my family and I awake every night. This business lacks ethics and empathy for the community it serves. They start a loud night shift every night at 10pm with forklifts with loud beepers constantly going and banging from the forklift driving around. I don't know why they think it's ok to work like that at this time of the night. Obviously they have no care for others. This can cause migraines and other health issues. Shame on you!

Yelp
Poorly run store!!! This is the second home depot we visited in 1 day to purchase a framing nailer. Inventory showed they carry them and even staff on site who looked up inventory say they have 3 in the store but to no avail- there was none! It was a complete waste of time!

Yelp
I have been shopping at this Ashburn home depot for a long time. In the past, customer service wasn't great but I have been noticing that recently it has become excellent. All of the employees are very attentive and helpful to customers. The store is always well stocked. I also, want to praise Jon Hall of the management team for being extemely understanding and supportive to helping out and making a donation to earthquake victims overseas. It is acts like these and compassion for other human beings that put certain companies over others. It shows that they are not just about the bottom line but also a part of the community. Thank you Jon and thank you Home Depot!

Yelp
If you're looking to rent a Penske truck through this Home Depot, don't. Go elsewhere for either Penske or Uhaul. The workers at the truck rental counter are clueless and have no clue what they're talking about. I sat in line for a good hour when I finally got to the counter and they told me that my truck was given to someone else because I was an hour late (was sitting in the line for an hour so I was actually right on time). Good luck if you do go here to rent a truck and I hope the best for you!

Yelp
I have frequented this Home Depot for years. Most of the time their service has been adequate. But today they left a bad taste in my mouth. I had purchased a cordless hedge trimmer a month ago but did not notice that the trimmer did not include a battery. After paying $159 for the timmer, I did not want to shell out an additional $100 for a battery. Sadly, I could not find the receipt for the purchase. On the website, it said that they could verify the transaction if I had my credit card, which I did. But once I got to the store, they could not find the transaction. So I ended up buying another trimmer this time corded. Did they give me a discount or store credit? No. But why would they? They are a big box store and don't really care if an individual customer is satisfied. But they were all to happy to keep the cordless trimmer, that was of no use to me. I am sure they restocked it and it is on the shelf as we speak. If you have a choice, shop elsewhere. Go to a mom and pop store if you city still has one. Or buy online. At least then, your transaction is recorded in the cloud. I will not darken their doorstep again.

Yelp
I purchased my kitchen appliance set (refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishwasher) from Home Depot 3 years ago and had the worst experience with their delivery and installation service. I had to schedule 3 separate deliveries because they weren't able to do it properly the first time and when they finally were able install all items they left my kitchen hardwood floors with deep scratches. Shame on me that I trusted the sales person at Home Depot that they have a new delivery and installation service that is operated by their company now (due to all of the issues they had with the previous one). I purchased a new washer and dryer and the delivery people were to arrive between 3pm-7pm but they didn't get to my house until after 8pm. Then they left the dryer sticking out 2 ft from the wall so it was halfway out in the middle of my laundry room. When I asked the installer why he left it like this he said that the air duct they were "given by Home Depot" was too long and I had to go to Home Depot myself to get and install a shorter one. Why he hell did I pay for parts and installation services then?!?!? I am never purchasing appliances from Home Depot again!!!

Yelp
I was in need of clamps of different sizes. I was lost until William came to my help. We spoke about my need as to where I planned to use the clamps. They didn't have anything that fit my needs. However William was so knowledgeable that he thought about creative ways of using certain alternatives that would meet my need. He could tell me the isle and bin where I will find it out of his memory just like that. He even walked with me to the isle and walked us through what we could do with the alternative solutions. It cost me just $5 actually to get those and yes, that just worked for me! On my way out I kept wondering how exceptional was that customer service was. All through out I got the impression that William and others seem happy to work there. It does not feel they are "working". They seem to enjoy what they do and come out as passionate people. Thanks William for an exceptional customer service!

Yelp
Wish I could give zero stars. I paid $286 for Home Depot's "professional installation services" of a new dishwasher, including $30 for an "installation parts kit". Yet no one asked me anything about measurements for my installation ahead of time, and when the installer came a week later, it took him 30 seconds to say he couldn't install the dishwasher, as it came with a drain hose that was too short, and he had no other parts in the truck. Which meant I had to drive to the local Home Depot to buy the necessary parts, and the installer won't be back to install it for another week. And the Ashburn Home Depot mgr made the excuse that the installers aren't Home Depot employees, yet there are placards all around the store saying "Ask about Home Depot professional installation services". Home Depot's installers then made TWO MORE trips to my house - each one was a comedy of errors, each time determining a need for parts they didn't have. Finally canceled the order & got my money back. Never again.

Yelp
Scheduled deliver of a major appliance. Contract delivery service failed to balance the unit. I called for service within prescribed 48 hour window after delivery. They came back the following week. The service tech shook the machine and said nothings wrong - that "I bought a 'cheap-ass' washer. It's a brand new GE Profile....top of their line. The techs were rude - leaned against walls. Left abruptly - spewing profanity as they walked back to their truck. I've never had this experience with Home Depot. Reconsider your delivery methods!!!! Worst experience I've ever had!

Yelp
I Contacted the HD design center to have a storage unit installed in a bed room. The unit was an Armoire a desk and cubes. Well the unit failed to meet requirement -- the Armoire is undersized -- hangers won't fit w/o the door staying Open! the desk didn't have the pull out drawer for a key board the width of the cubes are random and not set right. This was ordered in August. Since the installation in September Ihave been dealing with HD to make it right. They have agreed to fix the situtaiton but Calls don't get answered, weeks go by w/o information on progress on reordering . It is almost December and my bedroom is still in disarray clothes in boxes waiting to be stored, can't use my computer as the desk isn't set right! I will never use them again or recommend their design center to anyone. I am really ticked I spent a lot of $$ to gt this done and here I am frustrated.

Yelp
There is no leadership and no customer service here. Very few employees and no one who will act with any urgency of any kind. If you know exactly what you want and if you know exactly where it is, you're fine: otherwise try Loews

Yelp
Do not take a check-out person up on their offer to open a credit card and save $35 or $40. I did over a year ago and it destroyed my credit rating. The lowest my credit rating has ever been over the last 30 years or more was 795. It was usually 825-840 for the last 25 years. Unfortunately, when buying three cans of paint, the check-out person told me I could save $40 by opening a credit card. I thought that sounded good so I agreed. However, when a month went by and I received no bill, my 67-year-old brain deleted it from memory. (During this time frame we also spent two months in Mexico.) While I did receive emails from Home Depot, the few I bothered to open were junk mail about sales. Several of them also had typo or punctuation errors, so I ignored them and deleted without opening. After five months the credit card company sent me a letter saying I was in arrears so I promptly paid off the card. Even though I called Home Depot and the credit card company and explained what happened - while taking responsibility for my lapsed memory - neither of them cared or adjusted my credit rating back to where it once was. Makes me wonder how many other seniors fall victim to this? I'll only shop at Lowe's now, where they give me a 10% discount for military services. Avoid HD!!!

Yelp
I have been a long time shopper of the Home Depot in Ashburn,VA. Today, will unfortunately be my last time shopping there for the foreseeable future. During my shopping trip at Home Depot I attempted to locate bug/tick spray. Unable to locate it I decided to approach an associate for assistance. What a horrible decision that proved to be. I approached this individual, an older woman wearing a grey shirt working in the inside garden area, in a polite manner and excused myself for interrupting her and another associate. I then inquired as to where the spray was. I am a very animated talker and tend to use my hands a lot when talking. This associate then stopped me and stated "hand gestures aren't necessary." I then informed her that I am a very animated talker and use my hands when doing so. This type of behavior is absolutely appalling. What if I had some form of disability that caused my hands to move without my control??This associate lacks the level of understanding and professionalism required to work in such an environment.

Yelp
The memories of when I worked at Homedepot. I remember working in the flooring section and thinking I have no clue what the hell suppose to do. This was during the day of when Homedepot had vendors working the buildings so there was less stress for Homedepot staff members. Then again I think it was more of a pain for Homedepot. Managers could tell you to leave the store, but they couldn't fire you. I found as a vendor I was in charge of knowing the products that Homedepot sells. Time and experience were the best tools as I walked the halls of a Homedepot. The staff I saw looked happy, but they certainly were carrying lot of stuff on then from what I saw. I thought to myself, I couldn't wear Jean's now, I couldn't do it than. Jean's just don't feel right on my legs. Finding what I needed to clean up my shower took some time. I read about the products Homedepot sell, but I wanted a second opinion. A guy by the name of Klutis gave me his opinion of what was best to use and I went with that item. The whole experience was easy, and the check was too. The bathroom was decent from what I saw. I remembered Homedepot bathrooms looking bad in the past, but this seems to have changed big time. On my way out, I saw a woman heading towards the ladies bathroom. She pasted by me and a sign I was looking at. The woman who past me had a resemblance to the woman in the picture. Overall this Homedepot was very clean and organized.

Yelp
I asked them to confirm the size of our blinds after they cut them and they were way off. Even quoting me the "correct" measurement. The next person "fixed" them, confirmed the measurement and was off by 3/4" down to 1/4" with a sloppy diagonal cut. I didn't bother with a 3rd attempt and just did it myself. Not sure how you can work at Home Depot and not be able to measure or cut something.

Yelp
This location is kinda dumpy. Very disorganized with too much on the floor. We were there to pick up salt for our water softener. The salt bags were not in the usual location and actually were just on a dumped pallet with some plastic wrap still around it in the entrance of the store.
google avatar

Teresa R.

Yelp
Yesterday, I saw many shoppers in the store without masks. If you have signs at the entrance to wear masks for everyone's safety then you MUST enforce it inside as well. Very weak from your part, HD. I don't feel safe going to your store anymore. Shame on you!!

Yelp
A good judge of a business is how it handles adversity. When things are smooth and rocking along, it's all easy. But when things go South, that's what separates good customer service from bad. Today, The Home Depot failed. The entire register system was down, credit and debit cards were all being declined. People were very upset. My cashier remarked "it was a lot worse earlier", not really a help. I caught Manager Ted, who was running from cashier to cashier without helping much. When asked when the system was going to back up, he said "I think it's coming up now". When I told him I was going to Lowe's he said "okay". Well, it's 10 minutes further for me, but Lowe's it is from now on !

Yelp
Found out the store didn't accept Apple Pay and the associate named Nathen came in clutch and helped me out.

Yelp
This is a good Home Depot. I will say that we do a LOT of home improvement from building out complete rooms to full kitchen remodels to various outdoor landscaping projects both large and small. And you say - well a Home Depot is just a Home Depot . Not so fast. Some are better than others. This one, is a better one-- in fact, it is one that I might drive to especially for certain materials. For one, this Home Depot has one of the better selections of trim and millwork. Several times, I've been able to find the exact trim and molding pieces that I need. They also have better selections of drawer pulls and cabinet hardware than most. Two years ago, when I was rebuilding our deck railings, I was able to find all of my needed materials. And amazingly, most of the lumber (2x4's, etc) has actually been relatively straight and not warped...something of an accomplishment for any home improvement warehouse. Their lawn and garden section is quite good as well. I've been able to find items here - both plants and non-plant that others have not had. This is one of the few Home Depots with a tool rental section. I once needed a turf remover - one of those machines that removes turf in long rolls... They actually had one. The price per day was reasonable and I could keep it for the weekend and bring it back on Monday. They even provided ramps to load/unload it for my pickup. Of course, they have a wide variety of more common tools as well as many uncommon ones that you'll never know you need until you do!

Wat D.

Yelp
I was in the store this morning and it wasn't busy at all. There were lots of employees around but two actually walked by me when I tried to ask for help. Not only did I have a hard time getting help locating an item, when I was browsing in the plumbing section twice employees came up and blocked the area I was looking in. The first time I patiently waited while a woman blocked the area, then she left and another employee came up with a cart and blocked the section. Both employees weren't actually doing anything and the second never used the cart she placed in front of the stuff I was looking at. Both knew I wanted to look in that area. I found the first woman in another aisle just sitting doing nothing as I was leaving. I tried to find someone knowledgeable to help but NOPE. Did they think this was funny?

Yelp
I'm actually undecided as to whether my overall rating should be a 3.5 stars or 4 stars. There are a few things that I like about this Home Depot, which is the reason I continue to come back whenever I need to buy any sort of household item. The first thing is that, this place is fairly close to where I live. I mean who wants to drive out of their way if they don't need or have too. The second thing is that, this place is never really over saturated with people (with the exception of the summer season, and it is typically the garden section that has massive amount of people) when I come here. Because of that I can normally be in and out within 20 - 30 minutes maybe even less (of course this depends on the number of items I need to buy and how quickly I can find them). The last reason is that, I pretty much always find what I'm looking for when I come here and I haven't been let down yet (you can't see it but I just knocked on wood and my fingers were crossed as I said that.....lol). One of the things that I don't like is that sometimes it can be a bit of a hassle trying to locate an employee to assist you in finding, explaining, or suggesting the right product you should purchase (sometimes there are multiple brands for one product). I guess my advice for future shoppers is to do a little research on your own for any product you are looking to purchase because the employee you happen find to help you may not have the knowledge you need to determine which product is best for you. Outside of that I'm pretty pleased with this Home Depot. And I guess after typing this up and reading it over I think I've decided to stick with the 4 star rating for now but who knows that could change based on my experiences in future visits. However, as for now I will most definitely continue to shop at this Home Depot.

Yelp
I placed a rather large lumber order that was set to arrive on Saturday . When the truck came , he only had part of my order. When I called customer service they said another truck will bring rest then my email confirmation came to say I had received my order. In short it was a mess until I contacted the ashburn store and it's manager Alexis who after realizing what had happened, her young little self, loaded the lumber on one of their rental trucks and delivered the lumber personally. It was above and beyond and although it started out with mistakes she made up for with her energy and professionalism and I am grateful and awed. Good going young lady!

Yelp
I went in looking for interior moulding for a project I'm trying to do in my home. I had the measurements of the wall and of the pieces I thought I would need. When I asked for assistance cutting the sales person (who was standing around chit chatting with 2 other employees) informed me that they assist in cutting lumber but not moulding. I think it's a huge disservice to not offer assistance as we were looking to purchase over $350 worth of moulding pieces from them. Especially since they boast how helpful and friendly their staff is, yet nobody was willing to help cut 1 1/2inch moulding.

Yelp
DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES FROM HOME DEPOT! We JUST purchased the $749 Torro Snow Blower and paid an extra $75 to have it assembled and delivered. It arrived to our house on FILTHY! It was apparently a floor model though you would think we would have received a discount---who knows how it was "manhandled" by all of the customers playing with the gears. We also purchased the $3900 KitchenAid french door refrigerator and was it delivered to my home on 11/16. 12 days later it quit working. I called Home Depot on 12/2 to complain about the snow blower and the refrigerator and they basically told me I was on my own to settle the broken frig with the manufacturer. But.... he would give me $25 for my "trouble" the snow blower. I called the manufacturer, and a tech arrived today (12/6) and thinks the unit has a leak in the sealed system and needs a new "dryer". He stated the repair is complicated and so will need to be completed on 12/13 by a tech who knows how to service this type of system. (Even then, he is not sure it is the problem) this will leave us without a refrigerator for almost TWO WEEKS! I called HD again today, to PLEAD for a new exchange, and they stated they would only exchange appliances within 48 hours....BUYERS BEWARE...HOME DEPOT WILL NOT STAND BEHIND ITS PRODUCTS even if it is only TWELVE DAYS!!!! SHEEESE! BACK TO LOWES I GO!

Yelp
I used to be a loyal customer to Home Depot but I haven't had any good experiences with them for the past couple of years. I ordered custom doors and the doors came late, delayed construction and were poor quality. There were many small holes in the doors. Recently, I ordered outdoor furniture set with installation by them. They threw the set (over 300 ibs) in front of my garage, blocking my car and with no prior call (per the order details) letting me know they would drop it off that day. I have spent hours on the phone asking them to come move it to the porch/dry area per their instructions and no one is taking any responsibility or calling back regarding this. This is of course to the contradicting information given by their representatives.

Yelp
Had issues with my weed wacker and brought it in to see what the problem was. There was a very helpful young associate from home and garden that helped trouble and solve my equipment problems. It was great customer service.

Yelp
Aisle Help is 4 stars Lots of Help in every aisle with very knowledgeable staff - 4 Stars Store Experience is -5. Crazy, dogs barking in the store aisles and people with pit bulls strolling up and down the aisles - why did I bother to come here, when I could have ordered Amazon next day - shame on me! check Out. is 3 stars Quick and efficient, great check out experience

Yelp
Purchased GE dishwasher from Home Depot on July 3, 3022. $760, including installatio. Home Depot installers came to my home twice to install. First time could not install because floor where old dishwasher was for years was uneven by 3/8". Never mind dishwasher comes with adjustable feet to easily makeup 3/8". ok, I paid $200 to have floor level. Home Depot installers come a second time. This time they discover the new is broken. Needs to be replaced. It has now been 3 weeks. I ask for a refund. Home Depot refunds 2/3rds my money. Meanwhile, their defective dishwasher is still sitting my garage. I've called Home Depot customer service literally 10 times to pick up defective equipment. i even emailed Home Depot headquarter. i received apology but still no action. Broken dishwasher still sitting in my garage. I purchased same dishwasher from local Lowes. Same price. Purchased it on a Tuesday, Lowes installed it Friday same week. Outstanding service. All i want is for Home Depot to fetch their shabby dishwasher from garage. They can keep the rest of my money, $200. Just get their junk and horrible service away from me.

Yelp
I'm glad this location is close to where I was. I was able to make quick stops, but usually when doing home improvement it means multiple stops to here to Lowe's. Staff was friendly and it was clean and organized.

Yelp
It's taken me a while to get used to this Home Depot. We move every few years thanks to the Navy, so I've lived in many different places and visited many different Home Depot locations. THIS Home Depot for some odd reason is laid out totally differently than any other Home Depot I've visited from here to Hawaii. It drove me nuts at first, and I would drive the extra distance to Leesburg or Sterling because I would be able to find things quicker. Over time though, I have needed to make a quick trip here and there and gone to the Ashburn Home Depot because it's closest, and it has grown on me. I feel like I can find things there now. Service-wise, I go to this Home Depot on a regular basis and I am always pleased with the service I receive. I have never had difficulty finding someone to help me, and they've always found what I needed in quick order. I can relate to a previous comment about limited selection though. In most cases, I can find what I need, but in certain categories of things, I have had to travel the extra distance to Leesburg or Sterling to find what I was looking for. Kudos to Home Depot for offering a military discount! I appreciate it!

Yelp
When shopping for appliances, there were quite a few customers and no employees to be found. On delivery day of said appliances, lo and behold, after a wasted day, still no appliances. And nobody can track down what, where or even who was supposed to deliver the items. If you love wasting your time, this is the place to go!

Yelp
Nice, friendly people, but more often than not, the store is out of whatever it is that I need. Frustrating. Garden, Hardware, Electrical, Plumbing, Paint...ALL departments. it doesn't matter.

Yelp
Truck Rental: went to rent a truck to move a couch, one truck in the lot with a flat tire and no way to reserve. Seriously in this day and age, no way to reserve a truck?! Employees were rude and uncooperative. Will not be going back. Ended up renting from Uhaul Moving and Storage in Sterling, service was excellent!

Yelp
This Home Depot is the closest home hardware/DIY warehouse type of store to Ashburn, so it was pretty easy to sucker us into it. The first time we went, we were overwhelmed by the number of employees available to answer questions. However, over the next six months, we realized something... ... It doesn't really matter how many bodies you have on the floor if they can't answer questions and you don't stock half the things on my shopping list. Each trip here ends with disappointment after being directed to the wrong aisle for a product, only to realize the store doesn't carry it. According to a few employees, this is considered a 'smaller' Home Depot and, thus, does not have the wide array of stock you might expect from a Home Depot. It's incredibly frustrating to leave here empty handed. In the future, I think we'll just stuck it up and start at the Lowe's near Dulles Town Center. We were going to end up there anyway... might as well cut out the step in the middle that is the Ashburn Home Depot.

Yelp
I don't have anything against Home Depot. But today, 2 June, I walked into some drama going on, and it resulted in me being late. The first gentleman was super helpful, he helped me find exactly what I needed. The next step was to get 2 pieces of plywood cut. It took me 3 minutes up to this point to get what I needed. Enter the drama llama. Apparently "Mark" was the only one to make cuts that morning. But Mark was on break. He was "very busy" all morning. But no one else in the store could make cuts - and Mark wasn't leaving the break room. Paging Mark and having him refuse to come out of the break room lasted for at least 15 minutes. Then I was treated to stories of how his coworkers were just lazy and no one around there wants to work. I'm not sure if it's Marks fault, his co-workers, or a combination, but it was unprofessional. It might have been funny if I didn't spend 30 minutes of my day buying 2 sheets of plywood because someone was throwing a temper tantrum.
