I’m giving this well-deserved five-star rating because of the outstanding experience I had today at the Home Depot in Daly City. Design Consultant Clarice Cruz was absolutely amazing. I didn’t know that a prior appointment was required to order a custom shower door, and I stopped by the store on my way to a long weekend trip with my daughter. Because of that, I truly could not return later. I arrived just 10 minutes before her next scheduled client and explained that this shower door was extremely important for my current project. Without hesitation and with genuine kindness, Clarice agreed to help me anyway. And just ten minutes later, with a warm smile, she said the words every customer hopes to hear: “You are all set.” In that very short time, she managed to select the perfect shower door for our project, explain every detail thoroughly, answer all my questions, and complete the payment process smoothly and efficiently. Her professionalism, speed, knowledge, and positive attitude genuinely exceeded my expectations. This experience completely changed my perspective. I’ve now decided that I will no longer use small third-party companies for ordering shower doors. Service like this is exactly why Home Depot stands out. It was an amazing start to our long weekend and a perfect beginning to my Saturday morning. Thank you so much, Clarice Cruz!

I have spent A LOT of time in Home Depots over the last 25 years of my life. This was by FAR the best experience EVER!!!!! As I walked through the store employees asked people if they needed help finding things and were super nice and efficient. When I did need help the older gentlemen that helped me was super friendly and open. I also watched him help 2 other customers just as delightfully. Check out was great. Even the gentlemen in the parking lot were super awesome. I don't know what makes this store and it's employees so great but I hope it spreads! Thank you to everyone at the Daly City location for making my whole week!

What I like is flexibility. When you need more and the budget is limited, managers often make a 50 or 70 percent discount on wood and stones and some plants. Compared to plant stores, prices in Home Depot are wonderful. We are buying so many trees and plants there, flowers, seeds, fertilizers. Such a wood panel cost me no more than 70$ in materials, mounting hardware, and insulation. But some departments have a poor assortment. The welding department has almost no items and no consultants. I wish will were more things to work with metal. Something is cheaper on Amazon, but checking size, material, and how to use it is much faster at Home Depot.

I had a wonderful experience at this location thanks to the outstanding customer service. The staff were exceptionally friendly and greeted me warmly as I entered the store, which immediately set a positive tone. I’d like to give special recognition to Associate Sandra. She was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I came in looking for specific lighting products, and she not only helped me locate exactly what I needed but also provided valuable insights that helped me make an informed decision. Shopping in large stores can sometimes feel overwhelming, but Sandra’s professionalism and attentive assistance made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Her excellent customer service truly stood out and made my visit a pleasant one. I will definitely be returning—thank you, Sandra!

This Home Depot location continues to operate in an unsafe manner. Multiple trucks are routinely allowed to park in the red zone, which is clearly marked for no parking. This creates dangerous foot traffic as customers are forced to walk around large vehicles, often without clear visibility. It also poses a serious fire and emergency hazard by blocking areas that should remain accessible at all times. This isn’t a one-time issue—it happens repeatedly, which suggests management is either unaware or unconcerned. Customer safety should be a priority, and allowing red zones to be used as truck parking is unacceptable. Until this is addressed, I cannot recommend shopping at this location.

For today's experience at the home Depot in Daly cities Westlake Shopping center location, the experience reminded me of going into a radio shack store toward the end of radio shack's life and talking to their salesman. When I went into the store I looked at the shelf where the product was supposed to be located. I didn't find any. So I searched every other surrounding shelf around it. Including behind all of the boxes. No product on any of the shelves with the required SKU and UPC matching the specs of the component that I was looking for. So I went over and asked the person in the electrical department to look up above for other boxes that were unopened of the component that I needed. The home Depot employee immediately tried to divert me to other options. When I stated that I didn't want those other options, the home Depot employee still tried to divert me to those other options. It took a moment for him to realize that I wasn't going to be moved off of my choice. He then looked on the shelf in the same location that I had looked at. He then tried to offer me other.more expensive components that didn't match the specifications that I required for the job. I repeated my explicit requirements for the component along with the SKU and had him look it up. He verified that there was no stock on the customer accessible shelves. But at the same time also seemed reluctant to actually go up high and look for more stock up above on the upper storage shelves that required the ladder to get to. After about 5 minutes of talking to the home Depot employee, he was finally convinced that I wasn't going to give up and go for an alternate. So he did a half-hearted attempt to look for the stock up above while pacing the floor. I indicated to him that the component was likely to be too small to see from the floor and that he should pull the ladder over. But he was still reluctant to do anything other than use the smart device to check stock. Ended up leaving the store without buying what I came looking for. It would be nice to reassign, or get rid of, the home Depot employee out of the electrical department and that is similar to a "Radio Shack Salesman". On a positive note, the remodeling at the front of the store is well done. There seems to be more self-checkout registers, and more sensibly arranged for customer flow. Same equipment used as before. But I like the changes. My visit to the home Depot located in Westlake Shopping center in Daly City occurred on July 21st, 2025 at 18:20 p.m. PDT.

Dude with the hair greeted me at the entrance and asked how he could help: Me: Where can I find the fuses? Guy with hair: Oh yeah, upstairs Aisle 42. Me: Thanks! Hair dude is a 10 out of 10. I head upstairs and sure enough, aisle 42 was the jam. I grab the fuse I think I need and want verification. Why? Because I'm not going to go home, find out it's not the right one then haul ass back to swap it out. I see another dude with a scan gun, scanning items and moving items to or from his cart. Me: Hey, can I ask you a question about something? Scan gun dude: I don't' actually work in this department, I'm just helping out. That's why I took off my vest. >> note: could be apron but it really isn't the point << Me: Okay Scan gun dude (to another un-aproned Home Depot dude): See? Even if I don't have this on, people think I work here. Scan gun dude is NOT a 10 out of 10 So upstairs scan gun dude thinks that we should all be like, "Oh snap, I better not talk to that guy cause he's not wearing an apron. Better find someone who is!" I think upstairs scan gun dude needs to dress up like a display of lightbulbs if he wants to camouflage himself better. Don't ask scan gun dude for help. He will not help because all the information is in his vest. Anyways, I found the fuse and my kitchen works now. Thanks, guy with hair at the entrance!

Your upstairs door to parking lot was closed 10 minutes before closing time. There was zero signage posting early closing therein nor outside. We parked at that lot. Had to walk in the cold, all the way up around and about back to our car:-( with a heavy bag of stuff bought at Your store! Think we may have caught a cold all because of your negligence. Would appreciate an apology or if you don't care, you may have lose us as a customer.

Yelp
Home Depot is generally fine for what it is. Some of the employees are helpful, especially when you manage to find someone who really knows their section. Prices are slightly better than Lowe's, which is a plus if you're comparing the two big box stores. Overall, it's a decent place to pick up home improvement items, but the experience is pretty average -- workable, but not memorable.

Yelp
its a large 2 story store, but as with most brick and mortar locations the shopping experience is a mixed bag. I came shopping for pliers, but found the merchandise locked in a metal cage. Coming to Home Depot and not already decided that I wanted to buy a particular plier, I faced the prospect of having to ask an employee to open the case without committing to a purchase. Not wanting to have that interaction my decision was to shop on Amazon and have the pliers delivered the next day. That said, this was October 25, 2025, with the Halloween goods being rushed out the doors via a sale, and the artificial Christmas Trees, and assorted Decorations already displayed. In the end no purchase of pliers, but I did impulse buy a strand of decorative lights.

Rick A.

Yelp
The Ryobi items were also locked up in Colma. Again, there was no one around. I scanned the QR code on the cage and hoped for the best... Like magic, within a few moments, associate Anthony arrived. He opened the cage and gave a brief description of the trimmer. Then, I brought the hedge-trimmer to the front cashier. Thank you, Anthony !!! Within 10 minutes, I was in and out of the store. My suggestion to avoid heartburn and aggravation... Go to the Colma Home Depot.

Diana Y.

Yelp
Non existent service. Waiting 20 minutes and counting for service to check us and the Christmas tree out. It was a total of 27 minutes. The gentleman apologized for taking so long and gave a discount on the tree. Bing Bang Boom. I'm outta there and happier.

Yelp
Not the largest selection but still is a great place for what I need when I know exactly what I need. Self checkout is easy to use and wish the garden center had more of a selection of fertilizers such as Outdoor Supply in Millbrae.

Yelp
These 5 stars are for the 2 cats that this Home Depot now employs to keep the birds, rodents and pests out of the store. It's a delight to spot them! Here are some pictures of one of the cats :) It makes going to this Home Depot a more fun experience and now there are no longer pigeons swooping over my head in the garden department.

Yelp
I was looking for a new power drill and Cesar helped me out. He asked the right questions and found us the best deal. Great guy!

Yelp
This is the Home Depot at Westlake had a very great wide selection of Christmas trees. We got about a 7 foot tree for about 90 bucks which was a really good deal. I always usually get my Christmas tree very late this year. I decided to get it early knock it out the way my Christmas tree is already set up a decorations with lights ornaments and it's authority so I don't have to worry about it later on. Service here is really really friendly. The gentleman was very nice and made sure that I picked up a great Christmas tree.

Yelp
My door hinge was coming off due to four stripped wood holes. This was way too small of a job to get professional help with, so I knew it would be up to me to figure it out. Off I went to Home Depot Daly City with a sample screw and high hopes. Home Depot has one heck of a lot of screws, a whole wall full- well organized and a wide array, but I was definitely overwhelmed. I was lucky enough to get help from Dennis -a fantastic salesperson in the tool section. I described the problem to him, and he assisted me in finding the right screw, a little bit longer, but identical in other ways. Then he gave me the most amazing tip! (He is a retired carpenter). Put about four wooden toothpicks together, cover them in wood glue, put them in the stripped hole, bang them in with a hammer, let it dry and trim off the edges, making a new wood surface to screw your longer screws in. It worked brilliantly! For a few dollars and help from a pro (thanks Dennis!) my problem was solved. This interaction compelled me to write this review, but I am a decades long customer of this Home Depot. Clean, organized, well laid out, and the best most well priced garden center anywhere!

Yelp
Recommend the store but not the help in Westlake. Walgreen employees know more than westlake home depot jockeys for sure. When shopping here, 'know' what you need- 'know' where it is- or else youre soL. The floor people here 'try' but are ineffective.

Yelp
I never leave reviews on Home Depot and honestly I wish I have before because I usually have a great experience at the stores. Today was not one of those particularly because of JORGE in the wrench section. Guys like this help me understand why they made the switch to self checkout. The wrenches are locked up so he was helping another customer and was having about a 3 minute long conversation before I tried to ask him for the wrench that he already had the container open. So much so the customer he was talking to had to let him know I was waiting for him. He his finger up and says wait til im done. Finishes his conversation that the CUSTOMER ends because I'm waiting and he closes the door just to open it again. A true master of wasting time I have to give him that. Anyway not that it matters but I'll always go to the Colma stores from now on

Yelp
Very helpful and honored and online price that was $50 less. Very much appreciate this.

Yelp
The WORST customer service ever! Employees intentionally ignore helping the customer. They avoid making eye contact and when they do, quickly lower their eyes walk away and pretend they don't hear you. In fact, this one guy was on his phone totally engrossed with his phone! If it wasn't for the young person at the customer service counter, I wouldn't have provided any stars.

Bob O.

Yelp
There are currently a small crowd of people sitting here in the crew aisle, waiting for Associates that don't exist to come help us. They keep paging people and no one is coming and we are all just talking in the group about how horrible the customer service is about how it's gonna be faster to leave and go to Lowe's. They used to have the little self service display where you could fit the screws yourself, but apparently they took that away and at the same time eliminated their staff. I understand that this country is falling apart, but at this point might as well just shut down the store if you're not gonna help people.

Michelle L.

Yelp
Paid for delivery and installation and the lazy guys who showed up didn't want to carry the appliances up the stairs. The stairs are wide enough and not too steep. I had to hire Lugg movers to get them up and it was not difficult at all and they got the appliances in the apartment in 12 minutes. Not a problem at all. The movers get paid either way so they don't care how much they inconvience the customers.
google avatar

Kelvin C.

Yelp
This is my go to neighborhood Home Depot. They always have everything that I need. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The paint department guys are the best. The parking is easy, they also have a second structure parking lot in the back.

Yelp
Lighting for the bathroom or bedroom- even for the patio- when you get it right- wow does it look good! Our bathroom ceiling fan conked out, so we came here for a replacement- many choices- so we are thinking it over! Wanted some RED for LNY, but got a late start on red bulbs... found red tulips, leaves coming up and 2 strong plants ready to bloom in a week... my husband said: "you got it planted already? Amazing! Thanks HD!

Yelp
Customer service is horrible even when you can chase someone down. Went to buy a dishwasher and the young lady there had no knowledge of any of the appliances and told us to get online and read reviews and during our time with her she told us she was going to lunch and left. She said she would have someone from wood department come by. He came by later and also had no knowledge. We asked him to check something and he walked off and never came back. There was a computer there and so we thought we could just have to order our own. All the sudden someone came and told us we couldn't do it ourselves. We told her what happened and Gina saved the day and helped us. No excuse for this store hiring people so apathetic and I told the supervisor but nothing will change.
google avatar

Frances L.

Yelp
Super weird that they insisted on doing our self checkout for us. Meanwhile everyone else around us was allowed to do self checkout without supervision. Almost as if they thought we were going to steal after being customers for going on seven years now. Nice racial profiling guys!! The worker then tried to prevent us from getting a paper bag for our things and was like "why do you need a bag?" First off, that's none of her business if I needed a bag or not, second it's not like I had 1 item and was being wasteful. We had several things that made sense to have in a bag. Like I want plant dirt all over my hands and the back of the Uber. Finally... Why are you begrudging one measly paper bag 25¢ that we were going to pay for anyway? Again.... super weird you guys! The only reason this isn't 1 star was that the OTHER employees were helpful and nice when we asked where aisles where to find furniture touch up markers, help get spray enamel for our light fixture project or if they had certain things in stock. But yeah... you need to train your employees better on how to relate to ALL members of the public not just the Asian or white ones.

lisa

Yelp
I placed an order online and it was delivered to my home in a paper bag with no receipt. I was happy to have it delivered but I needed a receipt to submit . Home Depot after multiple emails and phone calls was very clear to tell me that they could not provide a receipt. What kind of a business Does money transactions without any copy of a receipt that they will give to their customer. I will never be purchasing from Home Depot again after this very unpleasant experience

Yelp
We bought a washer dryer set from here on Sunday. It was delivered on Tuesday morning and did not work correctly. We went into the store and talk to Jennifer in appliances who told us they could not return the product because it had been 48 hours since purchase. She then walked around the corner and then came back and told us the manager told her we couldn't return it and we would have to talk to GE tomorrow when they were open. when I got home, I called a one 800 number and a very nice man from Home Depot arranged for a pick up and return for this Thursday. I believe Jennifer in appliances lied to us and never talked to the manager. I will not give this store anymore of my money. Jennifer needs to learn how to talk to customers. She told us we should've done research on the product before buying it. There's nothing she can do we own it now. If the manager sees this review, I think Jennifer needs proper training on how to do her job and tell the truth.

John P.

Yelp
Appliance Specialist Marty Vaz was pleasant, informative and friendly throughout the transaction taking the time to compare different models for us.
google avatar

Yelp
Home Depot doesn't communicate with the online service, they don't do what you paid for after they send you a confirmation email. Well ....you all know I wasn't taking all that lying down. I paid for a manual drop off it inside my pickit fence the driver refused I was on the phone with them and they agreed with him. The manager says ohh "I understand the confirmation email as it reads. It doesn't say a front yard and they can only drop it where they can fit a forklift.... please tell me where you see that.....by the way the delivery charge was $124.00.

Co H.

Yelp
THIS STORE SUCKS. I went to buy a dryer, expecting help. A young lady told us to check online ourselves. We ordered, but the unit was defective. The replacement never arrived. After multiple calls, Home Depot said deliveries are outsourced and out of their control. They wouldn't let us cancel because no idea order wasn't delivered. So, what do you actually know or do, Home Depot?
google avatar

Miles C.

Yelp
Usually visit here to buy some tools or materials. This time, what I need was only 7 pieces on shelves, and the clerk helped me find another stock on the top of shelves quickly. So, I can buy all at a time. I am very appreciated with it. It takes me over an hour back and forth from San Francisco. Nice service manners and react to my needs quickly.

Yelp
Don't bother calling this location. They don't answer the phone. Still ringing... Still ringing...

Yelp
TL;DR: order high-value items online for in-store pick-up to save yourself half an hour or longer waiting for someone to unlocking the security cabinets. I'm sorry to see so many people have had negative experiences at this location. I've been coming here for several years, and my experience has largely been positive. First off, this Home Depot isn't as large as the ones at Colma (but there you've got a Home Depot and a Home Depot Pro across the street from each, and when you're at one you're within eyesight of the other). However, this location is closer for me than those other ones, and serves just as well--better, in-fact--for customer service, online order pick-up, and returns. It's also good for basic supplies like framing lumber or gypsum board. One note for the reviews for this location, it does seem like several reviews are for the issues with the customer service phone number rather than this specific store itself. Similarly, there are some reviews regarding the online systems such as veteran verification versus this store. I do agree regarding the locking up of tools and high-value items, and the long wait times to try to access them, which is why I'm bumping off a star. Hopefully staffing improves. In the mean-time, the workaround seems to be to order items online, then to go to the store to pick them up to avoid the long lines.

Evan M.

Yelp
Absolute trash. Had a reservation for a vehicle for (3) weeks to help move my house. Home Depot cancelled my reservation 2hrs before I was scheduled to pick it up without a call or explanation, leaving me scrambling to find a replacement vehicle in the final minute. Last time I rely on Home Depot to come through when you need them.

Salvacion D.

Yelp
The on line customer service is very bad, Two times I tried to buy online . The service representative refused to help me process my purchase.

Yelp
Excellent customer service had to get keys made helpful staff by the name of Czar dept #25. Much appreciated sir.

Yelp
Horrible service multiple times. I always regret coming to this one. Either you wait forever for tools and isle service, or they straight up can't read their own return policy. I had to call corporate customer support who was surprised that the store didn't resolve my issue for me.

Yelp
Came in earlier today, I was having a plumbing problem at my vacation home in the area. The service was ok, but could have been better. I feel the people working here should know more about the aisles they work in. They've always had a lot to choose from and ok deals, but I ended up leaving and calling a plumbing to come help..

Yelp
Easy to find and easy to park. Two story building, so be aware. Good layout of items and help is easy to find and get advice. Bonus: Safeway and mod pizza and asian food is a minute away.

Yelp
I went to rent a box truck from them after my reservation being canceled at other HD locations. I called the night before my reservation to ensure they had a box truck as I rented, and they said yes they did and confirm in the morning. I called in the morning and again they confirmed they had one in good and working condition. I show up for my rental and the associate who helped me, Antonio, was really nice and attentive. He got everything squared away for me pretty quickly. However, he missed a major issue on the truck that ended up costing us way more time and money than we anticipated. After going through a check of the truck he said everything was good. As I was loading it up, I noticed the tire was low on air. To avoid any issues I immediately went back in and brought it to their attention. The supervisor just said "well we can't rent it then" and then said she'd to look at it. I asked if it could be fixed and she just immediately said no. After going out to look at it, she just shrugged and said she couldn't rent it. I was fully expecting a truck to be available for me to use and when I asked about other options, every other truck had an issue with it. She tried for another location but they didn't have anything'. I walked out without a truck and instead had to rent a pick up from HD at a different location which took double time for pick ups and drop offs for our move. 1. Missed major issue with the truck 2. No working trucks I like renting with HD but trying to find a truck after making a reservation and plans for moving was a complete fail

Yelp
The Home Depot customer service policy of refusing to provide a charge back to a credit card is an ant-customer policy that shows us all their corporate greed. I purchased items from TheHomeDepot.com, and when I attempted to return those items with a receipt for those item, they took them back, but did not refund my credit card. I have a store gift card that I have got to personally use myself because they ID'd me and linked me personally to the gift card they gave me limiting the use what was previously my money. I have nothing I want to buy at The Home Depot. I gave it to a friend who want to buy an light fixture for his bathroom, and he was unable to use it because it can only be used with my ID. Bad service, bad selection, bad value.

Old S.

Yelp
They do not answer the phone, either for the store or the pro desk. Why do they even publish numbers if they will never answer the phone? It is a waste of time for customers.

Zach K.

Yelp
This location does not take Apple Pay or Google Pay at seemingly any of their terminals. It's 2024, what the heck.

Yelp
Update... Its been 7 months and we are still waiting for the cabinet work to be done. Home Depot scheduled work to be done 1/4 then 1/6 and now it's 1/19. Our fingers are crossed because we will need to cancel the cabinet work and ask for a refund if work isn't done by 1/19. In December, we found out the contractor Home Depot sent to do the plumbing installed PVC pipes under the new sink with the new countertop and the pipes were not up to San Francisco code. (We needed steel pipes installed.) Lisbeth at Home Depot tried 3 times to see if their contractor Playmar USA would come back to install steel pipes to bring the project up to San Francisco code, but no luck, yet. We may need to hire another plumber to do this and we hope Home Depot will issue a credit to reimburse us. The people working there like Lisbeth and William Whiteside have been nice but I'm afraid the follow through on a successful job has been disappointing.

Yelp
I purchased a stove and a fridge from them in August 2022. Both have since broken. Their warranty company is HORRIBLE and will give you the run around and avoid actually fixing anything. I will never purchase from them again....

Julie O.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. We placed an order for a washer and dryer, setup a time for delivery, tracked the entire day for delivery. Delivery time comes and goes and we check the update, only to see the delivery was 'not successful'. We called the customer service and the woman was not only unhelpful, but rude. Home Depot needs to employ better, more reliable support. We wasted an entire day, took a day off work, then were met with the option to wait 4 more days for delivery.

Yelp
Ordered $10,000 window from Home Depot. Waited 5 months for window to be installed. Trouble is: it's not the window we ordered. Now Home Depot is unresponsive to our calls.

Yelp
I recently ordered a garage door opener with installation from Home Depot. The opener was delivered promptly within two days. Installation? Nothing. They were supposed to call me to schedule an appointment. No one called. I called the number they gave me and after waiting on hold was asked to leave a message. I did. No one called back. Left another message. No one called back. I contacted customer service. They opened a case for me but nothing happened. Contacted customer service again. They gave me a number that went to the same voicemail. No one called back. They said they would send an email to schedule for me. Again nothing. Called the local store in Daly City. They said they were emailing the installer and someone would be in touch. Still nothing.

Yelp
WORST PAINT RECOMMENDATIONS EVER I went shopping to repaint my solid wood bathroom cabinets. I clearly stated what surfaces I was painting, asked about the decisions between sand paper and sanding sponge (I really researched hard before my first ever paint job). The men at the paint station responded to my question on whether I would need a water resistant top coat or not, that I was not going to need it for the bathroom. Guess what happened after I finished painting the cabinets over two days? I was cleaning the marble top and the water was leaving stains all over the cabinet. I freaked the hell out and drove over to the Colma Home Depot. The guys there said that I DID NEED THE WATER PROOFING MIXED INTO THE PAINT. Apparently Westlake fucks up on this all the time. They told me to spray a top coat and go over to get a refund at Westlake. And that top coat, also left wet stains ALL OVER THE CABINETS. I stand with $100 in purchases, two free days wasted and decent cabinets turned to dumps. Thanks dudes. I guess I'll be seeing you in the near future for damage assessments.

Yelp
Washer dryer bought 4/9 Washer dryer delivered 4/15 by their third party Temco, worst, ever, installed in 10 min and leaked all over the carpet after they left. 4/15 Called PROTECTION PLAN i purchased. There's no way someone can come back and fix it, so the next replacement delivery date available is 4/26. Today is 4/26, the technicians dropped off the replacement washer dryer and left , said the coordinator didn't mention installation and haul away so sorry my bad reschedule again. I called, put on hold for 30 min, then transferred 4 times and told my story 4 times. Finally, one of them says "oh it's already scheduled for 5/3. I have to now wait another week to simply have this new unit installed and the old one hauled away because of your phkn admin mistake. One whole phkn month. Never will I again. WORK ON YOUR DUMBPhk LOGISTICS!!!
