As a loyal customer who has spent thousands of dollars at this specific Home Depot location outfitting my 2000 sq ft loft with countless plant species, I am incredibly disappointed with my most recent experience.
A week ago, I purchased an $80 bamboo tree from your garden center. Despite my extensive experience caring for plants, the tree died within seven days. This suggests a significant issue with the quality of the stock being sold.
When I attempted to return the dead tree, the entire process was a nightmare. I paid using my Navy Federal debit card but had unfortunately misplaced the receipt—a common occurrence for busy customers. The store should have been able to easily locate the purchase using my banking card information and the exact date and price, which many retailers can do.
However, I was told the system was down, preventing the lookup. Furthermore, the behavior of the customer service agents at the return counter was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. After spending so much money at this store, I expected, and was owed, basic courtesy and an efficient resolution, which I did not receive.
The combination of selling a high-priced item that failed within a week, coupled with a rigid and non-functional return system and poor staff interaction, is unacceptable. I was not able to get my money back and was left feeling completely devalued as a customer.
I will never shop at this location again and demand a refund for the $80 dead bamboo tree. The store needs to urgently address its inventory quality, its ability to process card-based returns without a physical receipt, and its customer service training.
Very disappointed with this home depot, the manager in the gardening department insulted me and said they haven't had bamboo in a long time. And that is a lie.I just bought it a week ago.
Why weren't you able to look up my purchase with my debit card?It even showed your store number and the date of purchase?????? As you have a bunch of illegal scattered, all through the parking lot. The absolute worst home depot.
